Part II: Chapter Eleven
x.
Today is the day. Today I become Mrs. Quinn Fabray -Lopez and it seems so surreal just thinking about it. I don't have any words to describe the feeling I feel about this moment. I never thought I'd become a wife to my best friend (my best friend other than Brittany of course). The best part of this wedding was there wasn't much stress in planning. The venue was the hotel, which they set up and all they had us do was pick something from their menu which they will cook and then they handle the decorating. All we had to really do was get our dresses and try different cakes, which I think was Santana's favorite part of the entire thing.
I unfortunately had to sleep last night without Santana next to me, which was a little overwhelming, but her mother insisted that if anything happened, I'd be the first to know. So that's where we are now.
I'm in my hotel room with Brittany, my mom, and my sister getting our makeup and hair done, then dressed. I suddenly started feeling jittery, which if I remember anything from Fran's wedding is normal. It's not that nervous jitter of knowing if you're making the right decision, but more like anxious than anything.
I take a deep breath and let it out as steady as I possibly can, but it only came out shakey anyway. Brittany sits down next to me and smiles, pulling me into a side hug. "I'm so happy for you Quinn," she says softly and I can't help but return the smile only bigger. "You're marrying the girl of your dreams and whatever happens in the future, I will always be there for you; no matter what," she adds and I quickly hug her back, holding her longer than hers.
"Me too Q, but I'm sort of obligated," Fran jokes, but I only laugh back even though I know she'd always be there regardless. I sniffle catch any tears that may seep out of my eyes before streaking down.
"Okay enough with the love, I can't look like a racoon before I say I do," I say and they all chuckle softly as a tap comes at the door. My mom goes to open it and in comes my dad and he smiles widely at me. I stand before him, taking a deep breath as he takes it in.
"You look beautiful babygirl," he says softly, taking me into his arms. "You can still back out now though," he adds making me pull away from him, smacking his shoulder softly.
"Not in a million years will I do that to her," I say and he chuckles.
"Good because I like this one," it truly warms my heart that my family; the closest people in my life actually love Santana as a person and truly approve of her. I have to thank that trip to Ohio for that, otherwise I don't think they would have had the opportunity to see the sides I always get to.
There's another knock and this time Fran opens the door and Isabella comes in and I smile widely at my soon to be mother in law, who gasps at me and hugs me tightly. "You look beautiful hija," I may cry again when she calls me that, but I hold it in the best I can.
"Thank you Isabella," I tell her and she simply taps my nose softly.
"Call me mom or mami, or even madre. We're familia now," she states and I swear I can feel my heart swell at her words, so I simply nod at her request. "They are ready to start, Santana is already down there with her cousins'," she adds and I nod as we get ready to walk out so I can become Santana's wife.

When I get down there, I still don't see Santana because she wanted to be at the alter to watch me walk out, so we did it that way. I start to shake my nerves from my body as my dad stands beside me, giving me a kiss on my temple as the music begins to play. Fran is paird with Santana's cousin Juan, Brittany is paired with David (which I thought was sweet that Santana placed him in her side), and Gloria and Mina are paired together because I had nobody left that was significant in my life to be in my bridal party, so Gloria agreed to be on my side.
When it came time for all of us to walk out, we decided to play music where we can truly celebrate with everyone, so Santana chose a song called 'Higher Place' by these two DJs and Ne-Yo, when I heard it I thought it'd be cute, so we went with it.
When it started to play, Gloria and Mina went first and started to walk down the aisle with a little sway in their steps before separating to their sides, then came time for David and Brittany, who just danced like goofballs because really we knew deep down we didn't want Brittany to upstage anybody. They separted then when Fran and Juan walked out they took it like sports because they didn't even know each other before two days ago and they were acting like they knew each other for years. Then it was my turn.
I sigh deeply as my mom and dad dance their way out and I all but laugh before they stand on my side of the alter ready to be there for me when I make my way down. When I make my debute, Santana's eyes are on me, laughing at my dancing skills with tears in her eyes. I notice immediately she is wearing a tux with a vest and bow tie instead of a dress, making me wonder how she convinced her mom of that.
When I make it down there, my parents give me away to Santana and the rest of the wedding was such a blur because all I wanted to do was get to the end, so I can kiss my wife.
x.
It's official. I'm officially a Lopez and it is the surrealist moment of my entire life. Even after taking my first walk with my wife and finally dancing together as a married couple, it still felt like a dream. Taking her all in before me as we sway to the sound of our song, I notice the way her smile reaches her eyes which only makes me return it. I lay my head on her chest and that's when I hear the strangled heaviness of her heart beating. It hits me much like the coyote in a old acme cartoon. Its the sound that forces my stomach to knot in multiple places; something isn't right.
I meet her eyes again and she smiles again. "Are you okay?" I ask with worry and she simply keeps smiling, before leaning in to kiss me deeply.
She pulls away and keeps her forehead to my own. "I'm never better," she breaths out. That should have been enough, but I just can't help worrying that she's not being honest with me. I know how she is; she won't ruin this moment for either one of us when we have wanted this for so long, so I won't press the issue.
I simply nod slightly and intiate the kiss this time. "Promise me if you feel differently to let me know, okay?" I whisper into her lips for only her to hear and she just nods against me as the song ends and she leads me back to our table.
We sit down as people come to congratulate us on our ceremony. I munster up enough excitement to hide my intial worry and thank everyone who comes over. Santana smiles at them as well, hugging a few. Some of my family that Santana hasn't met before introduce themselves to her and come over to me with words of approval; I know I'm extremely lucky to have her by my side.
We're all interupted by the clinking of a glass and we look up to see Jose getting up and adjusting his bowtie, before clearing his throat. "Hello some of you may not know this, but I'm Santana's cousin. She asked me to be her best man, well because she had no other choice," everyone laughed at this as she rolls her eyes at his comment. "Anyway, where do I start? Well I've known Santana my entire life obviously and not just because she's my cousin, but she's also like a sister to me; she's my best friend," he looks over at her with almost a sense of sadness. "That girl is selfless and the most remarkable person you will ever meet. See when she met Quinn and took her to meet the family, they weren't even together yet, but we all knew they wanted to be; you could just tell. But because Santana is just that selfless it only took her another year to finally get the girl. Quinn didn't want selfless Santana; she wanted her all in and I am so damn glad that Quinn is just as stubborn as Santana because you've got my little cousin whipped," he points and I laugh leaning into Santana who just flips him off as I lean over and kiss her cheek. "I love you both and I want nothing but forever happiness. Things are hard right now, but regardless of the outcome just know you got a mess of people in front of you who love you," he says this last part at me and I smile softly my eyes welling up. I mouth 'thank you' to him and he nods, holding his glass up to signal the end of his speech.
We sip our champagne and then I see Fran come over to Jose. He hands her the microphone with a smile, then she turns and smiles to the room like true Fabray fashion. "For those of you who don't know me, I'm Quinn's older sister, so needless to say I don't need to tell you how long I've known her," they laugh and I chuckle softly. "Quinn, you've been dealt some crazy hands in this life; some good, some bad, but one thing was for sure you never let it get you down for long. I always admired you for that," she says sincerely. "For awhile there we didn't know if you were ever going to settle down. You have always been so independent and goal driven that you felt like you didn't need anybody to make you happy, then Santana came into your life," she smiles fondly at Santana. "I think when we knew Santana was the one was when Quinn and she came to Ohio and Quinn just couldn't keep her eyes off her when she played with my son or maybe it was when Santana decided to go and do some farm work in the shortest Daisy Dukes we've seen in a long time," everyone in Santana's family busted out laughing at the last part.
"Ey no pictures or it didn't happen!" Jose yells and everyone chuckles laughs more.
Fran giggles at this then continues when everyone calms down. "Regardless of the exact moment, we just knew there was something special about her and Santana I am so glad we weren't wrong. We adore you for Quinn and we hope you get through this difficult time in your life," she starts to tear up a little, wiping under eyes to prevent her mascura from running. "Because we're not ready to let you go yet," she says softly. By this time, Santana has gotten up and slowly advances towards Fran, before embracing her as she softly cries into her shoulder.
It made me realize just how much Santana has truly impacted not only my life, but my family's life as well. She brought love to my life and allowed my family to see the love she truly showers me with. Seeing this moment with my sister and my wife tugs at my heart strings as tears sting my eyes, ready to spill over.
Santana kisses her cheek and softly whispers into ear. Whatever it is she says, Fran nods before walking back to her seat as Santana comes back over to me. She kisses my cheek softly and lets it linger there as the music begins to play again.

Over the course of the reception, we eat and mingle with other people. I danced a little with Brittany but insisted that Santana take it slow. We danced a little but to nothing too crazy. After our second dance, Santana excuses herself to the bathroom and as she does so, the DJ has me throw my bouquet. All the single ladies went out to the dance floor and I turned around, throwing it. I turn around immediately seeing Brittany catch it. Her eyes widen at this before throwing it elsewhere like it was a hot potato.
Ten minutes pass and Santana still hasn't come back. That knotting feeling returns in my stomach and I go to find Rachel talking to one of Santana's relatives casually. I kneel next to her. "Hey have you seen Santana?" I whisper to her and she looks at me concerned, shaking her head at this.
She places her glass down on the table. "I saw her go to the bathroom earlier,"
"Yeah that was like ten minutes ago," I say and she gets up, excusing herself from the conversation, allowing us to walk out towards the bathroom. We walk towards the door and open it to see Santana bent over, coughing profusely. I rush to her side and try to hold her up in worry.
"San baby! It's okay," I try to get her to relax as Rachel rushes to her other side, kneeling before her.
"Hey Santana, can you breathe?" Rachel asks her as she shakes her head furiously and I look over at Rachel who meets my eyes briefly. "Quinn try going to get her some water and I'll see what I can do till you get back," she instructs and I nod instantly walking out to go find some water. I knew something bad was going to happen. I felt it, I just hope that Rachel can get her to relax or get it to calm down.
I find some water and rush back towards the bathroom as I'm getting closer I hear a crash and Rachel yell. "San! Santana!" I run on full force and push the door open to see Santana laying on the floor on top of Rachel as she tries to wake her up. She looks up and meets my eyes.
I pull the door back open and yell out to whoever is in the hall. "Somebody call 911 please!" I sob out loudly that I'm sure our entire reception heard. I rush to my wife's side and pull her in my lap and run my hand through her hair. "Santana baby please wake up," I cry. "Please don't leave me," I crumble laying my cheek on top of her head as I cry.
I'm not ready to let you go yet.
Eesh! We are down to the wire people. There is ONE CHAPTER LEFT before those endings and with enough reviews I may just post it today. I'm finishing up those endings today and then dispersing them among everyone who requested them thus far. I want to thank you all so much for handling the ending idea so well. I think it's just for the best and honestly I couldn't be happier with this decision. For those of you who have requested your ending already (and I have replied to a good majority of you) MAKE SURE YOUR EMAIL SHOWS UP. I probably should have mentioned this, but I assumed everyone knew, which I guess was my bad for assuming.
Since the Ancient Times of Fanfiction, if you simply write your email out with no spaces your email fails to show up. It's a security thing that Fanfiction has placed in and it's been that way since I started on it a little over NINE YEARS AGO. So with that said look back at your previous submissions and if your email was not shown be sure to write it so it shows up (ex. example at gmail dot com. I'll know to change it to the acceptable format. If you do not want others to see the email, again PM me in that format above or in simple spacing (ex. example at gmail . com) and I will keep it safe like my nonexistent unborn child.
So till next time, I will see you all soon!
