Chapter 15: Surprise week part 1

Monday morning came faster than the seven friends expected it to. Nathan, Lucas and Jake had awoke first and jumped in their respective showers. Nathan had been in the shower 10 minutes when Haley barged into the bathroom and emptied the contents of her stomach in the toilet. When Nathan heard her being sick he poked his head out of the shower and asked her if she was okay

Nathan: you okay Hales

Haley: yea I think it's just a stomach bug

Nathan: okay, but promise me if it keeps up you'll go see a doctor

Haley: I promise; you almost done so I can shower?

Nathan: you could join me

Haley: we'll be late for class if I join you

Nathan: later then

Haley: of course

Nathan: I'll hold you to that, just give me ten more minutes and you can have the shower

Haley: okay I love you

Nathan: love you too

Haley left the bathroom to get the stuff she would need for her shower then headed back to the bathroom just as Nathan was getting out of the shower. Nathan wrapped the towel around his waist and kissed Haley before exiting the bathroom and heading for their bedroom. Once Nathan left the bathroom Haley threw up again. By the time she got in the shower she didn't have much time otherwise she would be late for class. In and out of the shower in 10 minutes she was dried off and dressed in jeans and a long sleeve t-shirt with her hair pulled into a pony tail, she brushed her teeth put on a little light makeup and headed for the kitchen to have a little breakfast before heading out to the car with Nathan to head to school.

Meanwhile in Brooke and Lucas' room, Lucas was just exiting the bathroom when Brooke shot up in bed feeling like she was going to be sick and just as she was about to say good morning to her fiance her hand flew up to cover her mouth before jumping off the bed and running to the bathroom with Lucas right behind her. Brooke made it to the toilet just in time to empty the contents of her stomach with Lucas holding her hair back and rubbing her back.

Lucas: you okay Brooke

Brooke: yea I think so much be a stomach bug

Lucas: promise me you'll see a doctor if it gets worse

Brooke: I promise, I'm going to jump in the shower quickly

Lucas: okay, I'll grab you something to eat and meet you at the car

Brooke: okay, I love you

Lucas: love you too

Lucas left the bathroom to finish getting dressed while Brooke brushed her teeth and jumped in the shower. 15 minutes in the shower and Brooke felt like she was going to throw up again so she got out of the shower and wrapped a towel around herself and made it to the toilet just in time to throw up again. Once her stomach was empty she got up and brushed her teeth for the second time before going back to the bedroom to get dressed. After she was dressed she grabbed her bag and headed out to the car so she and Lucas could leave for campus.

Brooke and Lucas pulled into the campus parking lot 10 minutes after Nathan and Haley and found them waiting in their car, so when Lucas parked his car the four family members got out and started walking towards the coffee stand. Lucas ordered their usual and once they got their coffee's Brooke and Haley said good-bye to the guys and headed towards their class. Once they were far enough away from the guys they dumped their coffee's and gave each other weird looks.

Haley: why'd you throw away your coffee?

Brooke: why'd you throw away yours?

Haley: I asked you first

Brooke: I think I've got a stomach bug and I don't want to make it worse, now you

Haley: I think I've got a stomach bug too

Brooke: I wonder if Peyton, Rachel and Quinn are sick too

Haley: hopefully not

Rachel: hopefully not what?

Brooke: morning slut, Haley and I have a stomach bug and we were wondering if you guys had it as well

Rachel: nope I'm fine

Peyton: I feel great

Quinn: I feel fine too

Rachel: you sure it's just a stomach bug?

Haley: what else could it be?

Peyton: maybe you two are pregnant

Brooke & Haley: NO WAY! NOT POSSIBLE! NO CHANCE IN HELL!

Quinn: are you sure?

Haley & Brooke: YES!

Brooke and Haley didn't even think about what Peyton had suggested they just dismissed the idea and continued walking to their class, saying good-bye to Rachel, Peyton and Quinn as this was one of the classes they didn't all have together. Once the two girls were sure nobody could hear them Haley started talking.

Haley: Brooke?

Brooke: yea Hales

Haley: do you think Peyton may have been right?

Brooke: absolutely not, there's no way

Haley: are you sure? I mean now that I think about it I didn't get my period last month and I haven't gotten it yet this month

Brooke: wow, now that you mention it I haven't either

Haley: what do we do?

Brooke: well lets not panic, we can go see the doctor tomorrow and find out for sure but until then I suggest we keep it to ourselves

Haley: I agree, I'm not going to say anything until after we see the doctor

Brooke: okay I'll call the doctor and see if we can get in tomorrow

Haley: okay

With that Brooke and Haley finally arrives at their classroom and found seats near the back instead of the front where they usually sat. With twenty minutes before class was due to start Brooke pulled out her cell phone and called the doctor's office and was able to get them both an appointment for 12:30 pm the next afternoon. It worked out well because Tuesday's from 12-2 pm Brooke and Haley didn't have class so they could go see the doctor and be back before anybody realized they were gone. When Brooke got off the phone she told Haley the plan for the next day and as she stopped talking their professor walked in ready to start class.

3 hours later class was finally over and the girls couldn't wait to get out of their and meet their friends for lunch before their next class. Once everyone was gathered in the quad they decided what they wanted to eat and the guys went to get it. The girls spent the time the guys were gone talking about classes and their plans for that night. Quinn and Clay were going to have a quiet night in, Peyton and Jake were taking Jenny out for dinner and Rachel had a date with chase. Brooke was going to start work on the bridesmaid dresses and Haley was going to catch up on the shows she has missed. The guys returned with the food and Brooke and Haley dug in not realizing just how hungry they were. Rachel, Peyton and Quinn just shared a look with each other thinking that Brooke and Haley probably were pregnant.

After everyone finished lunch the guys headed off to their next class while the girls had a half hour before their next class so they sat talking for another 10 before heading to their class. 2 hours in class the girls were board and ready for cheer practice. When the girls made it to the gym they found the rest of their squad already their stretching. Brooke, Haley, Peyton and Quinn changed into their gym clothes and made their way to the rest of the squad and stretched with them for five minutes and started work on their routine.

Brooke: girls, girls, this is all wrong. The routine is simple and we have a game on Friday, why can't you just get it right we've been at this for weeks.

Squad: we're trying Brooke

Brooke: you're not trying hard enough! Lets run it again

After Brooke says that the entire squad groans as they start to run the routine again,, after twenty minutes of running the routine again and again Brooke had enough

Brooke: Enough! Be here tomorrow at 3:30pm for practice. Now hit the Showers

Rachel: don't you think you were a bit harsh Brooke?

Brooke: No, I don't we've been at the routine for two weeks and they still can't get it right so we will be practicing everyday after classes till the game or the squad gets it right

Peyton: I get it Brooke, but the harder you make them work the less they're going to try

Brooke: well then they better nail the routine tomorrow

With that being said Brooke headed off to the showers not in the mood to argue with her friends. Haley, Peyton, Quinn and Rachel just watched Brooke walk away from them before heading to the showers themselves.

Brooke finished her shower and was dressed heading out to her and Lucas' car to wait for her fiance. Lucas walked out ten minutes later as he didn't have basketball practice that afternoon.

Lucas: Hey baby! How was practice?

Brooke: I really don't want to talk about it

Lucas: that bad eh?

Brooke: disaster

Lucas: oh baby I'm sorry, I'm sure it will get better

Brooke: god i hope so, lets just go home and relax

Lucas: sounds good

Lucas and Brooke got in the car and headed back to the house to get started on their homework so they could relax for the rest of the night. Not long after they got home so did Haley and Nathan and Jake and Peyton with Jenny.

While Jake took Jenny upstairs to get her changed Peyton told Haley and Brooke that they weren't going out for dinner because Jenny had a slight fever, so Brooke decided to put off on starting the bridesmaid dresses and would join Haley and Peyton in the living room to watch TV. The 6 friends finished their homework and the girls curled up in the living room to watch the new episode of the voice while the guys were in the kitchen making dinner and talking.

Jake: I hear Brooke and Haley are sick

Lucas: yea Brooke says it's a stomach bug

Nathan: Haley's claiming the same thing

Jake: well Peyton, Rachel and Quinn think they're pregnant

Lucas & Nate: WHAT?!

Jake: just think for a minute before you two pass out, have you guys been denied sex in the last month?

Lucas: No

Nate: No

Jake: have the girls been extra cranky and tired lately

Nate & Lucas: Oh yea

Jake: and they both ran to the bathroom this morning and emptied their stomach's

Nate & Lucas: yea

Jake: I hate to say it guys but I'm almost a hundred percent positive they are pregnant, Peyton had the same symptoms they do when she was pregnant with Jenny.

Lucas: maybe Jake's right

Nate: should we talk to the girls about this theory

Jake: No! don't say anything to them, wait till they come to you its better that way

Nate & Luke: okay

Jake: good, now lets finish dinner and get our women fed before they yell at us

Lucas: their watching the voice we've got a bit before they yell

Just as Lucas finished talking they heard the girls yelling at them

Girls: are you three just talking or are you actually making dinner in their its been almost an hour and were hungry

Jake: told you – (Jake said to the guys then yelled to the girls) It's almost ready!

Girls: good

The guys just started laughing and put the finishing touches on dinner and headed into the living room to join the girls and watch the last hour of the voice. After the voice was over the girls headed into the kitchen to do the dishes while the boys say back to watch the hockey game.

Once the dishes were done the girls headed back to living room with popcorn for everyone and beer for the guys and then the girls reclaimed their spots and everyone watched the game. When the game ended everyone decided it was time for bed especially with early morning classes, so they said their good nights and headed off to bed.
