The cities in PWO were all awe-inspiring, and Veilstone City was no exception. The streets were as wide as a highway road. The largest building was the department store, but the most popular seemed to be the game corner. Neither Misaki nor I had any plans for gambling there, so we avoided it. The many powerful TMs we got at the department store helped a lot for our Veilstone gym battle.
To our surprise, we saw Ryota at the gym. His newly evolved Torterra mopped the floor with Mayleen's Lucario. We exchanged greetings, but he walked away soon after. Some things never change I guess. Our gym battles went smoothly as well.
We were walking along the streets, wondering how to spend the rest of the day, when an object came crashing down a block away from us.
"What the hell!" I exclaimed.
"What's going on?" Misaki wondered.
A figure climbed out of the crater made from the crash. It seemed humanoid in shape, but the smoke made it impossible to notice any details. Suddenly it waved its arm to the side and the smoke was dispersed instantly with a powerful gust. Its form finally became clear.
It was red with areas of it shaded with blue. In the center of its chest was a purple gem-like orb. It then levitated into the air for everyone to see its majesty. I realized that it was a pokemon. And it wasn't just any pokemon.
It was the legendary pokemon Deoxys. Deoxys was a legendary pokemon that could change between its main form, and three others. It was extremely versatile. For it to show up here, it must be an in-game event. As I was thinking to myself, Deoxys changed into its speed form. It prepared to dash straight towards us.
"GET DOWN!" I commanded, tackling Misaki to the ground. Deoxys flew only a few feet above us at an incredible speed.
"What the hell was that thing?" Misaki gasped.
"It was the legendary pokemon, Deoxys" the voice came from Ryota, walking towards us. "To be more precise, that was its speed form."
Misaki looked puzzled, so I explained how Deoxys had three other forms other than its normal form: speed, defense, and attack. However, Deoxys needed special meteorites to change form. And lucky for it Veilstone was a City that was surrounded by meteorites.
"We need to chase after it or it could wreck the city." I exclaimed.
We chased it all around the city. Whenever it stopped, we battled it. But every time we took out about a third of its health, it changed form, speed across the city, and slowly recovered its hp. When we finally reached it each time, it was fully recovered. We were near exhaustion.
"We... really... need... a plan..." Misaki said, catching her breath.
Ryota and I agreed. We sat down and put our heads together. Finally I exclaimed...
"I GOT IT!"
Misaki and Ryota turned their heads towards me in anticipation of my plan.
"Deoxys goes to three specific spots, one for each form. So we'll split up. Each of us goes to one point and waits for Depxys to show up. Then we can take it down, without it recovering its hp."
Misaki and Ryota nodded in agreement. We each decided a spot to take. Ryota, would take its attack form, Misaki would take its defense form, and I would take its speed form. We then went our separate ways to the specific points on the map that Deoxys would appear.

Ryota's POV:
How do I keep getting involved with those two. They didn't slow me down all that much; both of them were skilled at battling. But still, I planned to go solo for my entire time here. Oh well, I guess this would be a good way to hone my skills further.
I finally reached the area if the city that Deoxys went to. It was already in attack form, and was trashing the city.
"Torterra, take it down!" I yelled throwing my pokeball and releasing Torterra. It roared just as loudly as it always did before a fight.
"Use leaf storm!" I commanded. A violent tornado of leaves appeared on Torterra's back and went towards Deoxys. It delivered a powerful blow to Deoxys. It recovered quickly and sent a powerful psycho cut attack towards Torterra. Torterra was sent back about ten meters. Deoxys then charged towards us.
"Crunch!" I yelled. Torterra caught the charging Deoxys with its powerful jaw.
It then threw Deoxys into a nearby building Deoxys changed into defense form and began to fly away. My job was done. When I checked Torterra's hp it was at 60%.
It brought down 40% with one hit! One thing was for sure: Deoxys was not to be taken lightly.
Good luck you two. Your gonna need it.

Misaki POV:
"Geez! Where are you Deoxys!" I said impatiently. I had been waiting for 10 minutes. Suddenly a figure came into view. It had Deoxys's colors, but it looked completely different. This must be its defense form. I sent out Raichu.
"Use thunderbolt!" I commanded. Raichu's cheeks lit up and released an enormous amount of electricity. Deoxys curled up into a ball and the electricity seemed to bounce right off. When I looked at Deoxys's hp, it had only decreased by about 5% from the thunderbolt.
"Attract!" I followed up. The hearts swept around Deoxys but when they went in, they bounced off with no effect"
"You've got to be kidding me!" I exclaimed. I needed a better attack strategy. Suddenly my mind went to my contest performance.
"Raichu, use thunderbolt on the ground" I ordered. Raichu's thunderbolt created a lot of debris in the atmosphere.
"Slam!" I yelled. Raichu charged right at Deoxys and hit it hard.
"Finish with iron tail!"
Raichu's tail became enveloped in a silver metallic glow. It then swung it at full force and sent Deoxys plumiting into the ground. It then changed into speed form and sped off into the city.
It's up to you Ren. You can do it.

Ren's POV:
I hoped Ryota's and Misaki's battles were going smoothly. They were good trainers, but their opponent was a legendary pokemon. Once I saw a figure flying towards me, my nerves eased. But now it was up to me to end it.
"Alright Scyther, let's finish it off!" I yelled, throwing out my pokeball. My newly caught Scyther was ready for battle. Deoxys flew around me at supersonic speed. Landing an attack would be next to impossible.
"Use bug buzz!"
Scyther rapidly beat its wings, creating a terrible noise. Deoxys stopped and covered its ears in pain. Now was my chance.
"Finish with x-scissor!" I commanded.
Scyther attacked Deoxys with a powerful attack. Deoxys would get away if I didn't end it with my next move, but Deoxys still had 20% of its hp. I had only one choice. I threw an ultra ball that I had picked up at the department store. The time it took to wobble 3 times seemed like an eternity, but it finally clicked, conforming that I had caught it.
"Phew. That was way too close." I sighed.
I met up with Ryota and Misaki in the city. When they asked how things went, I held up the pokeball with Deoxys in it. They were speechless.
"No way! You caught a legendary pokemon!" Misaki exclaimed. I pulled up my menu and took a look at Depxys's stats. It was lvl 45, but its stats were way lower than they were when we fought it.
"That makes no sense!" said Misaki.
"I guess a legendary pokemon's stats go down when it's caught. It actually makes sense. Can you imagine someone with a pokemon that powerful? They could go on a mass murder spree." I told her.
We decided to go straight to the pokemon center and hotel to relieve our exhaustion from today's chase.
The next day I put Deoxys into my bank storage since I didn't need any attention by having a legendary pokemon at my side at all times. And Misaki and I continued our journey.
