A/N: Ok this chapter is going to be a little short. Due to some weird technical issues, I had to split this week's story into two chapters. I hope you all enjoy it.
Ren's Team: Infernape, Starraptor, Rotom, Scyther, Eevee, Deoxys
Misaki's Team: Empoleon, Roserade, Raichu, Flareon, Altaria
"Man that gym battle was tough." Misaki sighed.
We had both gotten our badges at the Pastoria Gym. However, the gym battles did seem to be getting a lot more challenging. The level of the gym leaders' pokemon were getting higher, but that was normal for gym leaders. The difficult part was their skill as a trainer was growing. They practiced on their battlefield countless times till they knew it like the palm of their hand. The challengers who were battling here for the first time had very little chances of getting an advantage over the gym leader, except for type advantage. I had won my latest gym battle by using type advantage and the large amount of experience I got from training. Even still, it was a close call. Misaki had an even tougher time than I did, but still managed to pull out a win.
"I guess this means we'll just have to train harder." I said.
"We've already been training like crazy!" Misaki complained.
"Well there's no reason to stay here in Pastoria. Let's get going then." I told her.
"Right. Canalave City's the next gym isn't it? Lets go back to Jubelife and head over there."
"Actually, I was thinking we could go to Celestic Town first." I responded. "I heard something weird happened over there. A call was placed in the info broker newspaper for any trainer willing to come to get to Celestic Town as soon as they can. It'll also give us some extra time for training."
"What happened that's so weird?"
"I don't know. But whatever it is, it must be serious."
We used the hm move Fly to get to Solaceon Town instantly. After that, we set out for Celestic Town immediately. It took most of the day to arrive. The fog on the way was thick and the mountains were treacherous. It was about 7pm when we finally arrived. When we got there, a woman in her 20s greeted us.
"Oh thank god! We need help desperately. This way follow me." the woman exclaimed.
"So what the heck happened?" Misaki asked as we ran following the woman.
"A series of wormholes opened up in the sky yesterday. People fell down from each of them. Their total is about 45. They've all been unconscious since arrival. We have them sleeping at the pokemon center." the woman explained.
We finally arrived at the pokemon center. The scene was horrifying. Rows upon rows of people, lying unconscious, were lined up as if this was an overflowed hospital. The amount of helpers there totaled to about 20 players. The call was only put out this morning, so I guess it was too much to ask for an army to come by this evening. I scanned the room and my eyes suddenly opened wide. A small girl was lying among the unconscious. She had light brown hair and looked about 12. I recognized her instantly. I ran over there at full speed.
Oh god! Oh please god let me be wrong! Don't let her be here!
I got to her side and looked at her face.
Damn it! Damn it all! Why her!
I could never forget that face. I had seen it all my life.
It was Clair. My little sister.
