A/N: Happy Halloween everybody. As my contribution to the holiday we all adore so much, here is the next chapter of the story. Enjoy!

Misaki POV:

"Geez! How long is this hallway?!"

I continued to run through the seemingly endless tunnel. When I finally saw a light at the end, I jumped for joy. When I ran through the door however, all that joy instantly vanished and was replaced with rage. Standing across the room was the Team Reaper admin Agatha.

"I was wondering if you'd be my opponent." Agatha smirked.

"I wouldn't want it any other way." I replied with a glare. "Now I can get you back for what happened to Dahlia."

"Oh don't tell me you're still whining over that loser." Agatha sighed.

"You're going to pay for murdering her!" I screamed. We each grabbed a pokeball from our belts.

"I've got the perfect opponent for you. Crush her, Drapion!" Agatha yelled, throwing out the powerful poison type pokemon. "Now bring out that Empoleon of yours so we can settle things from our battle at the mountain."

"Who said I was using Empoleon?" I smirked. I tossed out a pokeball and the Dusknoir I received from Dahlia appeared.

"What?!" Agatha said, shocked. "That's..."

"Dahlia's ace. She gave it to me right before she died. I'm going to defeat you with this Dusknoir. That way I'll have Dahlia fighting at my side."

"Are you done? May I vomit now?" Agatha interrupted. "Whether it's one weakling or a thousand, I will crush you."

"Let's see you try." I said. "Dusknoir, shadow ball!"

"Drapion, cross poison!" Agatha countered. Drapion's claws glowed with a violet aura and swatted the shadow ball attack away with ease. "Follow up with crunch!" Agatha continued. Drapion charged at Dusknoir with its fangs ready to rip its opponent apart.

"Hit the ground with ice punch!" I yelled. Dusknoir's fist smashed into the ground, creating a large field of icy spikes around it. I thought Drapion would be blocked by the ice, but it smashed through them like it was nothing. It's bit down on Dusknoir's arm, making the ghost type cry out in pain.

"Dusknoir! Hang in there!" I begged. Drapion put Dusknoir through even more pain as it threw it aside, making it crash into the wall. The ghost type pokemon slowly got up, barely able to stand.

"Now do you get it? You have no chance of winning this! Give up already!" Agatha laughed, mocking me.

Is this it? Am I really just going to go down in defeat here? In the one battle I had to win at all costs?!

Suddenly my gaze met with Dusknoir's and all time froze. I was shocked. The look on its face didn't show that of someone who had given up. It was determined to fight to the end. It wanted to avenge its former trainer no matter what.

That's right. I can't give up here. No matter how bad things get... I HAVE TO KEEP FIGHTING!

"Thanks Dusknoir." I whispered. I steeled myself, ready to take Agatha down.

"Just give up already. It'll be a lot less painful for you." Agatha smirked.

"Never!" I replied. "I'd rather die than beg for mercy from you!"

"Suit yourself." Agatha sighed. "Drapion, use crunch on that brat!" Drapion moved its gaze from Dusknoir and turned towards me. It barred its fangs and ran at me. Suddenly, a figure stepped in between me and Drapion. Dusknoir stood there, blocking Drapion's path. Drapion continued to charge at us.

Not yet... Just a little closer.

Drapion prepared to rip Dusknoir to pieces as it lept at the ghost type. It was inches from its target.

"Finish her and that worthless Dusknoir!" Agatha screamed.

Now!

"Ice punch!" I commanded. Dusknoir's fist became veiled in a snow-like aura and it delivered an uppercut to Drapion's jaw. The poison type pokemon became frozen in place by ice.

"No way!" Agatha gasped.

"Shadow punch!" I yelled. Dusknoir followed up with another punch, freeing Drapion from its icy prison and sending it flying across the room. It rammed into Agatha as the two smashed into the wall. The two of them laid on the floor. Agatha struggled to get up.

"You stupid brat... I'm going to kill you for this." Agatha glared, barely able to choke out those words.

"Let's end this Dusknoir." I said. "Use focus blast!" Dusknoir gathered up energy into its hands. A large orange sphere manifested and the ghost type threw it towards Agatha and her Drapion. The impact caused a huge explosion. As the smoke cleared, I could see Agatha shattering into fragments. Drapion soon followed.

It's finally over... thanks for watching over me Dahlia.

I looked at Dusknoir. It gave a smile of relief. It had completed its mission to avenge Dahlia. "Thanks Dusknoir. You did great." I smiled, returning it to its pokeball. A door opened up on the other side of the room.

"Out of the frying pan and into the fire." I sighed. I walked through the exit, traveling further into the temple.
