A/N: Time for the final admin battle everyone. I hope you all like it.
Ren POV:
I walked through the long hallway, slowly climbing up the temple. Clair was at my side. I knew she could handle herself in a battle, but a fight like this was different. I would have left her back at Celestic Town, but she would have undoubtedly come after me. At least this way I could keep an eye on her.
"Dan look! There's an exit!" Clair exclaimed, pointing towards a light at the end of the hall. The two of us ran through and found ourselves outside. The incredibly powerful wind almost felt like it could blow me away. We were on the side of the temple. Looking up, I could see that we were about halfway to the top.
"Well it's about time you showed up." a voice appeared. Looking over, I could see Darach with a confident smirk on his face. His sister Caitlyn shyly stood next to him.
"Get out of our way Darach." I warned.
"Or what? If you think you can beat me, you're dreaming. I'm far more powerful than when we last fought." Darach replied.
"Fine then. It'll be you vs me." I said.
"Wrong. This will be a two vs one battle. Let's go Caitlyn." Darach ordered.
"R-Right big brother." Caitlyn responded obediently.
"Hold it. I'm in this too." Clair interrupted, grabbing a pokeball.
"Heh. Makes no difference to me. What can a weak little girl like you do?" Darach snickered.
We all threw out our pokemon onto the field. I sent out Infernape and Clair sent out her Lucario, while Darach and Caitlyn used Gallade and Gardevoir. The powerful wind blew by us as the battle began.
"Gallade, use psycho cut!" Darach ordered. Gallade's claws lit up in a dark-violet glow as it sped across the battlefield.
"Infernape, mega punch!" I countered. Infernape charged at Gallade with its powerful fist veiled in a radiant aura.
"Protect, Gardevoir!" Caitlyn said. Gardevoir hurried to its teammate's side.
"Intercept with aura sphere!" Clair called out. A sphere of energy fired from Lucario's palms and hit Gardevoir before it could arrive to its partner. Gallade and Infernape clashed without any interruptions from our teammates. Infernape was able to push Gallade back, as it parried away its attack. Infernape's attack sent Gallade flying back.
"What are you doing Caitlyn?! Stop being so useless!" Darach yelled.
"S-Sorry." Caitlyn apoligized.
The nerve of this guy!
"Infernape, fire spin!" I called out. A spiraling stream of fire escaped from the fire type's palm and surrounded its opponents. The two pokemon cried out in pain as their hp slowly fell.
"Gardevoir!" Caitlyn cried out, worried about her pokemon.
"Gallade! Get out of there and use slash!" Darach ordered. Gallade swept the flames away with a powerful wave of its blade-like arm. It then charged towards us.
"Lucario! Bone rush!" Clair commanded. Lucario ran to intercept Gallade with its attack. Gallade clashed with it furiously.
"Close combat!" Darach yelled. Gallade parried the bone rush attack and began to assault Lucario with a devastating barrage of blows.
"Gardevoir use..." Caitlyn began until a voice interrupted her.
"Don't attack!" Darach yelled. "I will beat them! Got that?! You're just the lowly support so stay out of my way!"
"B-But I... I just... I just wanted to help." Caitlyn said, fearful of her brother.
"You just wanted to take the glory from me! Now shut up and do as I say!" Darach ordered, slapping her in the face. She fell back from the impact and tripped over the side of the temple. She barely saved herself by grabbing the railing. She was currently hanging off the edge, with only the open sky and a long fall to greet her if she lost her grip.
"Darach! Help!" Caitlyn begged.
"Help yourself you weakling." Darach sneered at her.
This is bad! Darach may be a prick, but I can't let Caitlyn just die like this!
"Clair, get Lucario to jump back on my signal." I whispered to her while our opponents were distracted.
"Right." Clair nodded. I watched as Gallade attacked Lucario, desperate to find an opening quickly. Finally it showed up.
"Now!" I yelled. Clair ordered Lucario to fall back. As Gallade was about to pursuit its target, I called out an attack.
"Infernape, use blast burn!" I called out. The flames on Infernape's body changed to a blue color as it sprayed a powerful stream of fire of the same color. The attack blasted Gallade back and caused a huge shockwave. Darach lost his balance and fell over the side. He was unable to grab the railing, but a hand reached out for his. Caitlyn grabbed Darach with her one free hand, struggling to hang onto the rail.
"What are you doing?" Darach gasped.
"You're my brother Darach! I'm not going to let you die!" Caitlyn yelled.
"You brat! Making me look weak! How dare you!" Darach growled. He positioned his legs to stand sideways on the floating temple.
"Now die!" Darach screamed, yanking Caitlyn and forcing her to lose her grip on the rail. They both began to fall.
"Not gonna happen!" I yelled, grabbing Caitlyn's arm with barely enough time left. Our arms locked while she still held Darach's hand. Caitlyn looked up at me with a sigh of relief.
"Why are you helping us?! We're you're enemy!" Darach glared.
"Believe me, I would like nothing more than to see you fall to you're death Darach." I replied. "But I'm not gonna let Caitlyn die just because she got forced into something by her shithead of a brother!"
I was barely hanging on to Caitlyn. She was slipping more and more due to Darach weighing her down. "No! I won't allow this! I'll kill you! I'll kill all of you!" Darach cried out, trashing around. He eventually slipped out of Caitlyn's grip and began to fall.
"DARACH!" Caitlyn cried as she watched her brother fall to his death bellow the clouds. With the extra weight gone, I was able to pull Caitlyn back up. I laid down, catching my breath, as Caitlyn was on her knees, crying for her brother.
"Darach... big brother..." Caitlyn wept with tears flooding the floor.
"Dan... shouldn't we do something?" Clair asked.
I walked over to the crying girl, standing over her. She paused her crying and looked up at me. "I suppose you're taking me to prison?" she said.
"No. I won't be doing that." I responded. The blonde girl stared at me in disbelief. "Don't get the wrong idea. I'm not letting you just walk away free. Head to the entrance of the temple. I'll message the raid group to not attack and simply take you into custody. As long as you don't attack, they won't harm you." I maneuvered through my menu and sent the message to Riley. Then I walked away with Clair right behind me.
"Wait." Caitlyn called out from behind us. Clair and I turned our heads towards her. "Why are you doing this? We're enemies?"
"I don't see the point in killing a little girl. Especially one that got dragged into a war zone against her will." I explained.
For the first time ever, I saw that frail little girl give a sincere smile. She chocked out a small reply before walking away.
"Thanks."
"No problem." I replied with a smile.
"By the way if you're going to take on the boss of Team Reaper... just be careful. He's strong." Caitlyn added.
Well that's ominous.
After we watched Caitlyn walk away, the two of us continued on further up the temple.
A/N: Alright everybody. Next chapter will be the final battle with Team Reaper. Look forward to it. As always please feel free to post any reviews, comments, or suggestions you have.
