A/N: Another week, another chapter. Enjoy everybody. As always, please feel free to post any comments, reviews, or suggestions you have.

I ran through the hallways of the floating fortress as fast as my legs could carry me. Clair was right behind me. We eventually reached a wide open room. A huge passageway opened up on the other side. Two humongous statues stood on opposite sides of the opening. On the left stood the pokemon of space: Palkia. To the right was the pokemon of time: Dialga.

A sudden voice called out behind me. "Ren! Clair! Hey guys!" The two of us turned to see our friend Misaki running towards us, waving. "Glad to see you two are ok."

"Same to you, Misaki." I replied.

Another voice came from behind the black haired girl. "So you guys made it too? That's nice to see." Out from the hallway came Ryota in his usual nonchalant attitude.

"Looks like you're the last to arrive, Mr. Tough Guy." Misaki teased.

"I figured it would be easier to find this place after you got here. All I needed to do was follow Misaki's obnoxiously loud voice." Ryota countered. "Looks like I was right."

"Why you little-"

Before Misaki could finish, I cut her off. "You can insult each other later. Right now, we need to stop Team Reaper's boss." Misaki growled a little, but gave a nod of agreement. The four of us ran through the passageway. Beyond that, we climbed a long set of stairs. When we reached the top, we found ourselves on top of the fortress. It seemed to be just a flat surface. A player stood across from us. He had blonde hair and seemed to be in his 20s. He wore a dark blue jacket and black pants.

"I must commend you for defeating my four admins." the player spoke. "But I'm afraid this is where you're journey ends."

"So you're the boss of Team Reaper." I glared.

The blonde trainer gave a smirk in response. "Correct. My name is Leon, the strongest trainer in PWO."

"Wow. Someone's full of himself." Misaki grinned.

"Unlike my admins, I can actually back up my talk." Leon responded. He grabbed a pokeball and tossed it into the air. Out from the ball came a gigantic pokemon. It had a long serpent-like body. Golden spikes came out from its body and six long tentacles sprouted from its back with red thorns at the end. The face of the pokemon had a golden mask covering it, but it's crimson eyes could still be seen glaring at us. "Say hello to my pokemon, Giratina."

The three of us stared at the huge legendary pokemon in awe. It let out a cry that nearly deafened us. "Now witness the true power of the Shadow Fortress!" Leon cried out. He raised his right hand into the sky. "GIRATINA, SHADOW EVOLVE!" At his command, streams of dark mist emerged from the fortress. It enveloped Giratina like a cocoon and began to torment the pokemon with strikes of purple colored lightning.

"It's suffering." Misaki gasped, astonished at Leon's cruelty. The transformation ended and a powerful shock wave erupted that almost blew us off the fortress.

We stared at our evolved opponent in horror. Its golden spikes and mask were extended and coated with a red color. The tail of the pokemon's body had a violet axe-shaped end to it. The six tentacles on its back had turned into two black wings. The entire body of the pokemon was also coated with a black aura. "What IS that thing?!" Ryota gasped.

Giratina's trainer broke out into a hysterical laugh. "This is Giratina's ultimate form, Shadow Giratina! This is the strongest pokemon alive!"

"It doesn't matter how strong that thing is! We'll stop you!" I yelled. "Lets go guys!"

"You got it Ren!" Misaki nodded.

"Let's take this guy down." Ryota agreed.

The three of us threw out our pokemon. Our team consisted of Deoxys, Shaymin, and Regigigas. I turned to Clair and handed her my Starraptor's pokeball. "Use Starraptor and head back to the others."

"No Dan! I'm not leaving you!" Clair cried.

"Lucario won't be able to even scratch that thing. Just please do this for me." I begged.

"But what if-"

"Clair I told you to go! Do it!" I cried. I wrapped myself around her. "Please... I don't want you getting hurt."

Clair hesitated for a bit, but finally gave a nod. "Alright. Just promise me you'll come back safe."

"I will. I promise."

Clair tossed out Starraptor and got on its back. Starraptor carried her through the skies and descended bellow the clouds. The three of us now faced Leon.

"Aww how cute. You don't want your sister getting hurt." Leon snickered. "After I'm done with you three, no one will be safe from my power. That includes her."

"Save it till after you've beaten us." Ryota responded.

"Very well. If you're in such a hurry to die, I'll be happy to send you to your graves. Go Giratina!" The shadowy pokemon let out a powerful roar, demonstrating its emended power. "Use hyper beam!"

"Shaymin, protect!" Misaki commanded. The small pokemon floated in front of Deoxys and Regigigas and created a barrier. Giratina's attack fired and hit the barrier with extreme force. Shaymin struggled to keep the blast at bay. Right before it was about to die down, a crack formed in the protect move. It shattered and Shaymin got hit with the final part of the blast. "Now's you're chance guys! Hit it while it's recovering!"

Ryota and I responded with a nod and called out attacks of our own.

"Deoxys, extreme speed!"

"Regigigas, use rock slide!"

Deoxys transformed into its speed mode and sped at Giratina. It rammed into it with tremendous force, pushing it back slightly. As Deoxys moved back, a series of rocks fell from above, raining down on its target.

"How'd ya like that?!" I smirked.

The blonde haired trainer only gave an unamused sigh in response. "Giratina, use iron tail." The shadowy pokemon's axe-shaped tail lit up in a metallic glow. It swung the silvery tail at the rocks, demolishing them to pieces. It then attacked Deoxys, sending its foe flying back. "You'll have to do better than that if you want to beat me."

"Regigigas, use fire punch!" Ryota yelled. The colossal pokemon's fist became veiled in flames and it charged at Giratina.

"Hyper beam!" Leon ordered. Giratina fired a blast from its mouth and blasted away a large chunk of Regigigas's health.

"Now you two! Hit it hard!" Ryota yelled to me and Misaki.

"Deoxys, shadow bal!" I yelled.

"Shaymin, toxic!" Misaki commanded.

The two legendaries released their attacks and fired them at their opponent. The attacks didn't seem to do much, but the good news was that Giratina was poisoned.

"Yes! Now we just need to wait Giratina out!" Misaki grinned. When she looked over at Leon however, all she could see was him laughing. "What's so funny?" she asked.

"If your plan is to wait until the poison finishes Giratina, I've got some bad news for you." the blonde trainer laughed. "Thanks to Shadow Evolution, Giratina's HP is at a total of one thousand!"

The three of us gasped in shock. Even for a max level pokemon, a max HP amount shouldn't even come close to that number. If we relied on waiting for the poison to lower its HP, we'd never last long enough.

Leon gave a confident smirk at our shock. "Giratina, end this! Use phantom force!" Giratina seemed to gather dark energy from the Shadow Fortress for its attack. Misaki looked my way, desperate for a solution.

"What do we do Ren?!"

I just stood there, unable to give an answer to Misaki's question. Giratina was just too strong. In the end, we couldn't do anything.

Is this how it ends? Isn't there anything we can do?

Suddenly my thought process was interrupted by a huge strike of lightning. I stared at Giratina as it began to squirm around in agony. Its attack stopped and the legendary pokemon struggled to move its body.

"What's going on?! Kill them already Giratina!" Leon ordered. Giratina continued to struggle until it let out a deafening cry. We all covered our ears as the legendary pokemon's body became completely shrouded in darkness. A huge burst of energy erupted from it, blinding us. When I regained my sight, I could still see Shadow Giratina across from us. But that wasn't all I could see. Another Giratina stood next to us, this one uncorrupted by Shadow Evolution.

"Impossible! What is going on?!" Leon gasped. As he struggled to grasp the situation, a voice entered my head.

"Keep fighting...brave trainers."

I looked next to me at the regular Giratina. "Was that you?" I wondered. Giratina looked down at me and gave a nod.

"I will occupy my dark half. While I do, you must attack with all your might."

I stared at the legendary pokemon in shock. "But if we do that, you'll be destroyed as well!"

"I am well aware of the consequences. But I will not let that man control me any longer. I would rather die as myself."

After those words, Giratina charged at its darker half. The two struggled in a vicious battle with each other. I shed a few tears for the legendary and thanked it for the sacrifice it was willing to make.

"This is our last chance guys. We need to end it right now!" Misaki and Ryota nodded in agreement. We each called out one final attack.

"Deoxys, shadow ball!"

"Shaymin, seed flare!"

"Regigigas, earthquake!"

The three moves all hit the two Giratinas with tremendous force. In its weakened state, Shadow Giratina was unable to withstand the assault. Both pokemon fell and crashed onto the temple and shattered. The impact from their crash broke of a large chunk of the Shadow Fortress, including where Leon was standing.

"No! NO! I can't lose like this! I am invincible!" The blonde trainer cried out as he fell to his death. The only ones left on the fortress were me, Misaki, and Ryota. The three of us returned our pokemon to their pokeballs and fell down from exhaustion.

"We actually did it... I can't believe it." Misaki said, catching her breath.

Our rest didn't last long unfortunately. The entire fortress began to rumble and fall apart. We all immediately got to our feet. "Give us a break already!" Misaki complained. The floor began to crumble around us. We ran to the edge of the temple and saw that little of it remained. The ledge we were standing on gave way and we all plummeted down beneath the clouds.

A/N: Hope you all enjoyed the big final battle against Team Reaper. Next chapter will be up next week. Look forward to it readers.
