"Hey Ana! You excited?" Kate yelled from the other side of my apartment.
Kate is my back up today. Tonight is party night for my graduation on Friday.
"Oh yeah I can't wait to be done already. I already have three job offers lined up. And I will finally be going back to Seattle with you and my dad I cant wait" I spot my necklace and wrap it around my neck. I have yet to part with it. When I spoke with Christian that last time I knew he was it for me. Neither me nor him has had any contact since that day in his office. I have seen that his company is as big as ever though and I am happy he got what he wanted.
My dad never knew why I took what happened between me and him so hard. Its hard to be married and have your partner want a break from you. A break? For five years. Five long years. We had put off telling our parents about the marriage because Christian needed them to pay for his college and we all knew Carrick would pull the support.
I took one year between my Sophomore and Junior year and did volunteer work in Africa. And still nothing. I pushed myself into doing clubs and activities at Harvard and I still have one more article to do and its for the economics section and the other guy pulled out... but all of that is tomorrows problem. Tonight I am going out with Kate and I am having fun.
I walk out of my room in a modest blue dress with no sleeves and black heels. Kate picked the outfit and I am happy to see that she kept it in my comfort zone. We walked out of my apartment and straight into a cab. She was choosing where we were going because I wouldn't pick the right kind of place.
I walk into the jam packed club and was pushed right and left. Eventually I got my sea legs and just moved like I was dancing.
"Come on Ana I got us a VIP booth. Ethan and Jose are meeting us here in fifteen." She yelled over the music.
I give her a thumbs up.
We order Cosmos and wait for the guys to get here.
"So Ana how do you feel almost being an adult?" she starts off with
"Well I have been an adult for quite some time now so...pretty much the same. I imagine it was the same for you when you graduated a year ago." I tease.
"Yeah well I graduated from a state University. You my friend are graduating from Harvard." She smiled
"Well I don't want to brag but it seems pretty darn good." I say with a big smile on my face.
Kate starts waving her arms in the air and I turn.
I see Jose and Ethan and someone else I cant see.
As they approach I see who it is and I am floored. Its Elliot Grey. Oh crap.
I havent spoken to the Grey's since that day. I wonder what this will be about.
They sit and Elliot looks straight at me.
"Well hello Ana. Congratulations on this awesome day." he says with a smile.
"Thanks Elliot. Yeah I am happy about it." I say while I start to really sip on my drink.
"Its been a while." he sits back and assesses me. The others are arguing on where to go for food afterwards.
"Yeah it has. How is the family?" I ask and I couldn't stop myself.
"Well all but one. Haven't seen my brother since you left. He only calls or emails. My mother and him have the common one hour lunch every once and a while." he looks angry.
"Well he is a grown man. I cant make his choices for him" I say with more conviction.
"hmmmm" was all he said and then he excused himself

Gail takes my empty plate from me and leaves to clean the kitchen for the night. To spend her night with Taylor no doubt. If only...
No I cant undo mistakes from that long ago. My foolish mistakes.
*phone chimes*
Why is my phone ringing at this hour?
"Grey"
"Well look at who finally answers my phone call?!" Elliot's annoying
"What do you want?" I hear loud music and annoying laughs
"Guess who is here with me?" he laughs
"I don't care what whores you are with Elliot it is a week day what are you even doing out?"
"Tsk tsk Christian I wouldn't call Anastasia Steele a whore. And I own my own company just like you and I do have a foreman who will take care of my stuff when I come in a little later then usual but I am taking a couple days off if you don't mind. That is what I call delegating." he says in an even tone.
Wait... Ana
"Why is Ana there with you?" I want to know how she has been.
"Oh well I am sorry to have disturbed you Christian but Ana and I are over hear near the Harvard campus. You know she is going to be graduating right?" She should have graduated a year ago. Its been five years since I last saw her.
"No I didnt. I am actually flying out tomorrow to Harvard for some interview." I say with a dead tone. I am actually going to be in the same twenty block radius of her. I feel my face getting hot from just remembering her. Unfortunately it lands on the day I told her to leave.
I guess I was quiet for too long because the next thing from Elliot was
"She looks good Christian and happy."
I was still quiet.
"Maybe you can probably say hi while you are here. Ethan, Jose and Kate are here too. Its been years Christian whatever it was could be just pushed aside."
"Ill think about it Elliot. I will look you up while I am there tomorrow. Nice talking to you." I hit the end call and I am thrown for a new one.
I have to see her. See if she, after all these years, wants to still be married to me. I look out of Escala and see nothing. I go in my jacket pocket and pull out my wallet. In the pocket is my wedding ring she gave me all those years ago.
I will win her back.
