Christian
I am already in my monkey suit waiting for Ana to come down the stairs. She got in late from the office today; finally I am not the one being dragged into the office on a week end. I normally would have gone in for this but they requested Ana come in. I believe my employees enjoy my wife's better mood then my own. It is an interesting fact that they had specific instructions from her about the project from yesterday and they just didn't and I quote "want to disappoint her" by doing it wrong. It is like they are children who decided they liked mom more than dad. In all honesty though I would not blame them for favoring her and not me, she really is a better person.
She has only been upstairs for like maybe fifteen minutes and she surprises me by yelling that she is coming right now. Sawyer and Taylor are dressed similarly to me, except I am not sporting an ear piece.
"Sir, just remember that the statement had just gone out to the major news outlets this afternoon. Twitter and Facebook are now showing that you are now trending with #whoismrsgrey?" he says but I hold up my finger to review the statement that was given to the press.
Christian Grey, CEO of Grey Enterprise Holdings has decided to give a statement addressing the recent photographs of him and a woman that were taken in the previous weeks was in fact of him and his long time wife Anastasia Steele- Grey.
"My wife Ana and I were married privately when we were younger. It was the best decision of my life and it so happened to have happened when we were both eighteen. We were high school sweet hearts but on a more mature level we both knew we were it for one another. She agreed to marry me and we haven't looked back since. While she was getting her degree, I was building up our company. This company was founded by me and my wife. Now that she has graduated she will now be able to fully commit to her life here in Seattle, an area that we both were raised in. Anastasia "Ana" is the love of my life and she is my equal in every way"
"Side note: any outlets posing questions about a "fling" and "gold-digger" references should have checked into this with much better care. My marriage is on public record, should have anyone cared to know my exact relationship status all they would have had to do is search for it"
"Okay go on" I say
"We need to make sure that we have all sides covered with security. Meaning that neither you nor Ana can go anywhere without security. We have threats…some superficial and some that are serious about her safety. Also TMZ really wants the first picture of you both after the announcement…." Taylor's eyes drift behind me. I turn and I believe me and him are now wearing the same expression.
Ana is walking down the staircase in a white dress that makes her look like an angel on earth. Her hair is up but with curls falling around her face. Her neck is exposed and her dress is white but her breasts are accented with gold trim. I look down to her feet and give a light chuckle. Some brand new white chucks. In her hand are white heels but even in snickers she really does look heavenly.
"Ana you look incredible…" was not said by me but both of my staff. I turn quickly and give them the evil eye to back off.
"Oh don't start that right now Christian. They were paying me a compliment. You boys look very spiffy yourselves. Luke nice tie and Jason gotta say that ear piece is quite the fashion statement." She says with a laugh. She joins us at the hallway and they leave to meet the rest of security.
"They were right you know. You look incredible." I kiss her check and she is hardly wearing makeup. Not that she needs to at all. I will always love her in a giant t shirt and a messy bun. I look down at her hand and she her pearl and vine rings are there. Finally and with pride I put back on my lug nut ring. I didn't get a wedding ring, I didn't really want another. This ring was made in that same garage I learned so much in. I still miss it. Maybe during the holidays we could spend the night over there and relive some of those memories.
Ana smiles at my ring and brings my hand up to kiss it.
"Are you going to keep the chucks on? I must say I think I prefer those over your heels." They remind me of how far we have come. I fell in love with that girl from the lunch table; she will always be there in one form or another.
"Yeah well Mia would mind if I showed up with chucks on. Though I am going to change in the car… I am going to have Luke sneak them in so I can change when the dancing starts. Could you imagine me dacing in these things? God help your feet." She says with a nervous laugh.
"Are you comfortable with this night? I know you aren't used to this type of thing." she was never one for the spotlight and I don't want to pressure her into doing anything she was uncomfortable with.
"Yeah I am nervous but this is a great cause." She says with some shakiness in her voice.
I nod and won't push the subject.
We walk into the elevator and head out to the Gala.
When we reach the garage Taylor rushes us into the truck.
"There are mass amounts of paparazzi outside and we had to put the curtains up back there so their flashes don't show you guys." He starts the truck and halls ass out of the garage and then a sea of people start to part.
Slowly but surely we make our way to my mother's house and Ana just smiles as she changes her shoes and hands them to Sawyer.
"What are you smiling about?" I ask
"I miss your room here, is it still the same?" she said with an almost nostalgic smile on her face.
"I remember the first time you snuck out of your house to meet me here. I was so mad at you but dang it I couldn't be for long." I said and wrapped her up in a hug.
"Oh yeah but then again you did get some good sleep that night. I wanted you to not have nightmares and if it took me going out in the middle of the night to make you feel better than that was what I was going to do. Also we owe your brother a thank you for helping us out that day." She said while having her hands in my hairs and using her fingers on my scalp. I love that so much.
"You guys ready?" Taylor says
"Yes we are." Ana says with confidence. My door opens and the lights flash right off the back. Normally there is media here but never like this. Everyone seems to have sent at least one camera man to be here. I help Ana out and she just smiles at me and holds my hand tight. We slowly walk past the cameras and they do nothing but throw questions at us.
"What are you wearing?"
"How did he propose?"
"Where did you meet?"
"Does he remember your anniversary?"
"Is he a messy husband?"
That last question actually made her laugh and she turned to answer the male anchor. "Yeah he is" she smiles and keeps walking behind me. Of course the one odd question she answers makes me look juvenile. I can't even lie though… she is right I haven't changed in that department much.
We make it into the party and the whirlwind begins. Every executive and congressman flocks to us. I introduce her when I can and I am shocked at how many business deals that are tossed at me. Slowly but surely we make it to my family's table. My grandparents hit Ana first. They had met her when we were younger and have loved her ever since I guess.
"Gramps! Grams! It's so good to see you" she hugs and kisses them both. She greets them more warmly then their own actual grandkids do but people just love her.
"Oh honey why didn't you tell us you were married to old Christian here?" grandmother asks
"We had to focus grams I couldn't let his world of business get in the way of my education." She says with a laugh. I like how she didn't say the exact truth.
"Yeah about time but when am I going to get my grandbabies?" grandfather questions
"Well when we settle down. Let everything die down and let me get comfortable at work them I will kick them out, deal?" she actually spits in her hand and they shake on it.
My mother hugs her and so does Mia. My dad shakes her hand and she sits down. Then she realizes that Elliot is there with Kate, awkward to say the least. We sit down and you could tell that there was tension but I won't have my first outing with my wife be anything but festive. Conversation begins and then all the ladies decide to go to the bathroom at once. I signal Sawyer to follow and I just hope they all survive the trip.
…..
Ana
Oh the atmosphere between Kate and I just got colder as we all walked to the bathroom together. I knew she was about to explode but I didn't know why she had any right to be mad. It was my life and me being married happened before I even lived with her and grew closer to her during those years when I wasn't actually with Christian.
As Mia, Grace and Grams walk into their own respective stalls Kate jumped right in it. First she checked all the remaining stalls and checked for anyone else in the room before she locked the door and turned to look at me. Secretly I know the other ladies were in their stalls listening to what is about to happen.
"So, why didn't you tell me?" she began with.
"What about me being married or me living with my husband?" I needed her to be as specific as possible.
"Honestly you were married the entire time and didn't even tell me? I mean we are best friends and this is something so big and you didn't feel the need to tell me. After years of trying to get you to go out and go on dates you never told me why you would say no or not stay out." She really was on a roll but I know I have to put a stop to it. I never was one for confrontation but when it came to Christian and I never could let anything hurt us. Yeah I know we avoided stuff these past few years but I never want to hurt his reputation.
"Kate I know you are hurt but in all honesty this was between me and him. We decided to meet our goals first before we moved onto the next step. I was in school on the other side of the country; you really didn't expect me to commute to school to live with my husband. And yeah he and I both decided how we were going to live these passed years. I love him and loved him when we got married. We got married before college and didn't tell anyone for reasons of our own; it is not my place to share it with you. Plus, as for the partying and dates you have got to know me better than that. I do not like parties or crowds. I love a good barbeque or a chill day but I do not like drinking with strangers. The reason I refused to go on dates is an obvious one. So really this is all that you are mad about? Because news flash my father didn't know until maybe a day or two max before you did. What would my college experience have been like if people knew I was married to him? The volunteer work I had done? They would have documented and made my life hell. You see the media now, I grew up in these couple of years and you honestly have to be able to see the difference in me." I rant but I genuinely am convinced of every word I have said.
She stands there with a furrowed brow and crosses her arms thinking. I have seen this look before and I know she is making a decision.
"So no one knew?" Thank God she has officially crossed over to my side.
"Nope. We had to make sure that we could be stable and there were a lot of other things stopping us from telling people but again that is personal. What you should know is Christian and I have been in love long before we were married. I invested in him when he needed it and used the space when we weren't directly near each other to grow. Someday, and I cannot believe I am telling you this, but some day you will realize that every hard decision you make or hard situation you have to go through with your husband it one that is never fair. Yeah he made mistakes but I love him more than those mistakes are worth. I see what is happening with you and Elliot. Don't try to deny it. Apparently you will see soon what I mean about it." I end with a smile
"Damn that girl is smart" Grams comes out of the stall and hugs us both together.
"Yeah, Ana. Some husbands can be quite stubborn and you just have to wait it out sometimes." Grace says. Yeah I know she and Carrick had to figure this one about with Christian and I and it just took him a little longer like Kate. I can't blame them for thinking what a lot of others would.
"Okay let's eat and drink this night away." Mia says with a smile. We all follow suite.
…
Christian
The women come back to the table happy and willing to drink. I know from Ana that her drinking level is okay but she only drinks about two beers and she is done. We dance and have fun into the late hours of the night. After dinner though Ana does change into her chucks and has a fun dance with gramps.
Later on in the night though we walk upstairs and see my room. My mother hasn't changed a thing. Same clothes and everything were all there and hasn't been moved since I went to college. Ana takes one of my old book bags and starts filling it up with clothes.
"What are you doing? I already have clothes at home." I say with a chuckle
"Hey I loved these sweats and sweaters. I am taking them with me." She loads it up
As she finishes I look down at the party from my window. I feel Ana's arms go around me and she hugs me close. "It was so simple" I say while I turn in her arms to face her.
"Well we are still simple no matter what." She says as we make our way out. She runs back grabs my GREY sweater I got in one of my old gym classes. She puts the bag and sweater by the door for us to grab on our way out. My little thief.
We go back and have some more fun before leaving for the night. We say goodbye and walk past the press calmly. The ride home was fun because Ana slips on my sweater and leans against my side.
When we finally reach the pent house there house is a mess. Couches are ripped and gun shots are in the walls. Sawyer stays back with Ana and she looks worried.
"Find Gail!" she yells
"Stay with Sawyer Ana!" I yell back as Taylor and I look from room to room to see if anyone else is there. There is a note on the kitchen counter but that is for another time. I look everywhere and Taylor and I finally meet up at the panic room. We punch in the code and Gail quickly looks up.
"Oh thank God!" Taylor hugs her and I look away from their personal moment. I hear lips and hands moving and I walk to the end of the hall way and don't look back until I hear actual questions being asked.
"What happened?" Taylor asks
"Some man just busted his way into the house yelling at no one. I ducked behind the island of the kitchen and when he moved onto the other parts of the pent house I booked it in here. I could still hear him yelling about how he always knew she wasn't an ex. That's he promised him that if he didn't give him the money that she would pay." Oh fucking Steve Morton!
As soon as I find out who it was that did this I leave them to their moment. I walk the rest of the house and see he destroyed my house. I really have nothing of trade in value. No pawn shop would know how much anything was in this house. I go back to Ana and Sawyer and hug her to me.
"It was him Ana. He came back." I confirm.
"We need to find out why he is here now. I know that announcement probably set him off." she nods.
"I will keep you safe my Ana I promise." I hug her to me
"I know my darling Christian but this time we will be together." She hugs me back.
She turns to the kitchen counter and sees the letter address to "Pussy of the house" that man is so vulgar I swear he will die the next time I see him.
"Should we open it or call the police?" she turns and asks me.
Well damn what do I do?
