I slowly turn on my side and the previous day's events come to mind. I stare at the ceiling and can't come to grips with everything. Ana leaving the house when I didn't want her to, Morton having us in the house, Ana helping us and then eventually having to kill Morton and it's all overwhelming. I never wanted to put Ana in this position of having to protect us. I can't say that it didn't turn me on just a smidge.
Slowly but surely I sit up and see little Teddy wide awake in the bassinette and just having fun just staring off into space. I don't know if it was gas or just a twitch but his smile was so wonderful. I picked him up and he smelled awful.
"Eww kid you smell horrible. Let's get you cleaned up." I pick him up and get a pair of clothes for him to wear for the moving day.
I look and see Ana in a deep sleep. I quietly take Teddy into the bathroom and get his little bath ready. I take off his soiled clothes and wipe his bum the best I can before placing him in the warm water. His body stiffens when he enters the water but eventually he gets used to it.
"Oh little man your mama is so great. Yesterday she kept me and you safe along with the rest of our family. Today we are going to move to our new house and everything will be great. Unfortunately I know your mom will not let this gun thing go now. I don't know how I feel about you learning about all of that but if your mom thinks it's fine then its okay with me." I talk to him while I wash his toes and can't seem to think of what my life without him. "I am so happy we found you Teddy. You have made me and your mama really happy." I delicately wash his hair and rinse it out without getting anything into his eyes.
"I know I agree with everything you said." Ana says from the bathroom door. Only then do I see her side and it is horrible.
"OH MY GOD ANA, WHAT HAPPENED?!" I knew I saw a shadow of a bruise yesterday but I only thought it was something small.
"Hahhhhhha I was hit by a car." She sits down next to Teddy in the sink and splashes water on his toes. She rinses him off and wraps him in a baby towel.
"Oh no you don't!" I grab Teddy from her and carry him to the bed to get him dressed and look at Ana with the look that said tell me now.
"Okay well while out for the run I and Luke were hit by a car. It was raining. They drove off. I am alive. Right now I want to get ready to leave this house with its recent bad memories but I am looking forward to the new house." She pushed the hit and run to the back ground and I guess right now I don't feel like arguing either.
Ana walks into the shower and I get Teddy his breakfast bottle going. He eats with gusto, just like his daddy. I sit on the bed with him and wait until Ana is out of the shower so I can go in next.
She walks out all wet and in her towel. Even with the bruises she is beautiful and elegant. I hand over Teddy and kiss her on her lovely lips and quickly jump in the shower. I wash off last night's events and in all actuality I am happy to no longer have to deal with Morton any more. I am not ecstatic about how it all got done but there is a level of happiness I feel that I will no longer have to worry about him anymore.
I get out of the shower and wrap myself in a tower and forgo my daily shave and just slip on my boxers and put on some jeans. I brush my teeth and pull on a t shirt. I join Ana and Teddy in the kitchen with everyone else there. And when I say everyone I mean everyone is there. Ray, Mom, Dad, Mia, Kate and Elliot all there eating breakfast and all dressed the same a mixture of sweats and jeans.
Ana gets up with the baby and kisses me on the cheek.
"Everyone dropped by to help us move." She says in my ear.
"Oh you guys didn't have to do this" I genuinely didn't want to trouble anyone.
"Hush son. After last night we all want to help get the boxes ready and settle you into your new home." My mom slides to my side in her moving gear.
"Yeah after Ana went all Rambo on Morton last night we all know you are going to need help. Plus we really want the details that aren't in the news." Elliot says but is soon is slapped upside the head by Kate for being stupid.
Ray is just at the table eating quiet and happy. My dad and him are a bit stained. I can see my dad making an effort and I know he apologized to Ana but with Ray this was a different story. How do you apologize to a man, who is trained to kill someone, you didn't mean to call his daughter a gold digger? Also you are jealous of your relationship with your son.
Ray however does look a bit smug. Ana using what he taught him in the proper way must be a real boost.
"Well Ana and the baby should go first I don't want her to get hurt anymore then she is now. Plus I don't want her to push a stroller all day." I don't want her to overexert herself.
"No Christian I don't have to stand on the side. I can tell everyone where everything goes and plus look at what Kate got me." She stands up and takes the baby and a bag with her. Kate follows and Ana comes out with the baby on her chest.
"It's a new born baby bjorn." The baby is strapped to her chest and his head is resting on her breasts. Lucky son and he is sleeping soundly as she moves my way and see him comfortably sleeping on my wife with a tiny smile on his face.
She goes to begin packing her stuff in the room and leaves the boxes to be taped and sent to the living room by either myself or one of the other guys. By noon the penthouse is empty and the boxes are being taken in a jumbo truck. We left the actual furniture there because the new house has new furniture and Ana chose the stuff so I bet it will be cozy. I told her to choose what she wanted and I stepped out of it when the actual house was complete.
We all approach the house and everyone loves the outside. They laughed about the code and finger print scanner at my gate. Ana said I was in charge of security and I made sure this place was Fort Knox. We drove another couple minutes before we actually made it to the house. Any other buyer would have cut down the woods but Ana loved it. She allowed for them to just redo the road going up to the house and the garage. The woods behind the house went on for a couple acres and were enclosed in the gate.
We all got out the SUV and walked into the house with the movers putting our stuff where it was label. I walk into the house and it smells like apples and flowers. Warm browns, blues and wood everywhere. The couches in the living room looked perfect to relax in. The fire place was oak and looked to be Ray's handy work. The dining room was warm too and I bet everything else in here would say home and not house. Escala was all white and chrome and this house was the opposite.
"Come look at Teddy's room. I want to put him down for his nap." She takes me by the hand while the others look around. Right next to our bed room was his nursery. She opens the door and it was great. Trains and helicopters were everywhere. She wanted my son to like what I liked. I couldn't help but smile.
She lays him down and kisses his head. She flips the switch on his custom made crib and grabs the monitor. There is a tiny camera in his crib so we could monitor him. I may or may not have gone overboard with security but it would be worth it to know that he is safe.
….
Eventually everything is put away and by the time dinner came and went. Taylor and Gail already are in their own house/ apartment on the property. Ana and I couldn't wait to go to sleep. Yes fun sexy time was always fun but the relief of just sleep after a day like this was what I was looking forward to the most. I put on my pajamas and just feel the ache in my bones for the last crazy couple of days. Ana comes into the room with a sleeping Teddy and she lays him down in the bassinette next to us and she just looks delicious.
She crawls in next to me smelling like strawberries and lotion and lose myself in sleep next to her.

One week later
…
"Christian what should Teddy be for Halloween?" Ana says over breakfast.
We have made a habit of having breakfast together. The normalcy of all of this never ceased to shock me. She would work and take care of Teddy and she would love to just talk with me about the business or the newest story they had her reading or editing. The mornings with each other were the best because we didn't run out of topics to discuss.
"Well it's on a Saturday and he is only a month old he really wont remember not dressing up." I don't really remember much about my early holidays but I knew I didn't really like Halloween because all the candy and it was always to rainy to do anything but go to friends parties and I didn't have friends like Elliot and Mia so yeah… not really a Halloween person.
"Well we can stay in and watch a movie. It will be just us and I gave Jason and Gail that night off." she side while trying to burp Teddy over her shoulder. I never could get him to burp that fast.
"Why are they off?" I know Gail was off on weekends but Taylor sure wasn't.
"He and Gail are going to take Sophie, his daughter remember, trick or treating around the neighborhood." Okay she had a point.
"Okay well we can stay in I agree. We could have pizza and everything. I like that idea." I look down at my watch and see that I have to get into the office. Quickly I kiss Ana and Teddy and head off to work. my normal day of business in interrupted by Taylor who never really knocks but just appears in front of my desk. Sometimes I swear I need to put a bell on him.
"Sir I have that information about the car that struck Ana and Sawyer. Apparently it was a rented vehicle. The car ran a red light fleeing the scene. Barney is going to get the file of who had it during this time and will get in contact with you." He said
I know I had not blown up like I usually would when Ana told me she was hit by a FUCKING CAR AGAIN! But at that time I was just happy to have my family safe to pursue it at this time. I didn't want to get full on revenge at the time because I was just too distracted but now whoever thought they could get away with this just didn't know me at all.
"Thank you Taylor" he left and I was just left to sulk and wait to go home.
…
All too soon it was Saturday morning afternoon and I was waiting in the front room waiting for Ana to come downstairs with Teddy in his costume.
"OKAY! HERE WE COME" I stand and see him in his car seat asleep. Barked out a laugh that shocked him to open his eyes angry and close them again.
He was dressed in a grey suit and tie. His hair slicked back. He was me but a very tiny form. And the frown he was wearing just made the affect better.
"Oh he is just too good" I laugh and see Gail and Taylor head out with a Corpse Bride.
"Okay movie marathon. I will get the snacks and you settle into the media room." She leaves me to go to the kitchen and I head down with Teddy.
"That really is a good look on you son. I can just see the legacy starting. You and me taking over the business world." I muse as I lay him in his head that sways him back and forth. I always forget what its called but apparently it's like a bassinette that vibrates to comfort the baby. I smooth down his hair and continue. "With what me and your mom know about business I bet our company will grow great"
"But he can be anything he wants to be." Ana says from the door way. She puts the tray of food down and get comfortable.
The movie begins and she leans her head on my shoulder.
