The months have flown by and Christmas is fast approaching. I couldn't wait for the holiday. In all honesty having Teddy has made me feel more alive. Each day I come home from work he has changed or done something new. He already holds his head up and looking at things with a critical eye. His first thanksgiving was sort of a waste because he couldn't really eat anything but Ana, being the awesome mom that she is, looked online to get recipes for babies. Apparently they have baby food inspired by grownup food but that stuff looked like throw up and it smelled like it too. He has his own form of a thanksgiving feast and even mommy approved snacks.

Ana has made my life all the better. She decorates for the holiday but not like my mom. My mom will hire someone to come in and make the decoration perfect and I loved it as a kid but Ana was different. She made decorations from scratch and made turkey decorations with Teddy's hand prints. I honestly couldn't picture my life without her. All that time I wasted trying to protect her I could have had this the entire time.

I walk into the house and see Ana with Teddy playing on the floor.

"Hey how are my favorite people doing?" I kneel down and kiss them both.

"We are good. How are you feeling about getting the tree up tonight?" she said with a smile. She was just in a t shirt and yoga pants.

"I think that would be a great idea. I am going to go change and then we will get to it." I run up stairs and change and go to the back porch and see the huge tree that Ray and I cut down a couple days ago. He said if we level it on the porch it will dry a bit before taking it into the house.

**********flash back*********

"How are you and Ana doing now that you are in the new house?" He says while holding the saw for the tree.

It was kind of scary to be in his element and see him holding a saw. He always has a way of making me feel like that teenager again

"We are doing great. Teddy is a blessing and we have just been feeling great. However I did get some information about the car that hit Ana and I am not sure how to tell her." I found out this information a little while ago but I just didn't think that it would be this deep.

"What do you mean?" he was confused

"The driver was a former employee of mine. A Leila Williams…."

"Well have her arrested. She could have been killed!" His passion was evident

"Yeah but you will never guess who her husband is… it was Jack Hyde. You remember the boy from high school? Well the ticket is grainy and I don't know exactly how was driving that car now." I hate having not told Ana but I wanted her fathers opinion.

"I can see the dilemma but why not turn this over to the police?" Valid question

We begin to cut down the tree and I am still thinking.

"If…if…if it was him I wouldn't want to handle it in the court system." That was it. This was the reason for my hesitation. "I guess those feelings from when we were younger are coming to the surface."

"You cant do that. You are a responsible adult now. I say look into who was actually driving that day and take it from there. All that being said, you need to tell Ana what is happening and do it soon so you don't get in trouble. That couch may be nice but you don't know how it feels to sleep on it." He laughs and we continue to cut down the tree.

********end of flash back******

Now here I am a couple days later waiting about to fell Ana about this crap right before a family moment. I lift the tree and take it to the living room.

Ana already lifted Teddy from the floor and put him in that chair that wiggles. She comes in from the front hall with all the ornaments and tinsel.

I put the tree down and pull Ana towards the couch.

"Hey I wanted to talk to you first before we put the tree up." I rub her leg.

"Okay whats up?" she says as she leans her head against the couch.

"Well we got the information about the car that hit you but I am not sure how you are going to take it." I hedge my story before even beginning.

"Just out with it!" she fists my hands.

"Well the car is owned by Leila Williams, you know the girl that was fired from being a receptionist. Well the car was owned by her but there is a hitch. Her husband is Jack Hyde." I finish.

"You mean that guy from high school?" she looks confused

"Yeah I just don't know how to proceed." I am torn

"Well did you get the back ground information on the both of the yet?" she knows me so well

"Yeah they have been together for a couple years but he was unemployed. Now they are both out of work. I just don't know what to do about how far they will go after all this."

"Well if we don't know what to do give it to Jason and have him tail them. We need to know more about them and their situation." She is right.

"Okay I will have done but first the tree!" I don't want to focus my time on that nonsense. Family time is more important.

We spend the night decorating the tree and playing bad Christmas music. At the end of the night I am just happy that we can just be here and be happy.

I know its short but I have a great idea for the next chapter.
