Loving the comments and questions I've been receiving about this story. I'm trying not to give too much away when I answer, so I hope you understand if I don't elaborate.

Thank you for the kind words: Carlie13, themysteriousnicole , GhostWriter1864, xXMizz Alec VolturiXx, Guest, gspratt10807, and Raven that flies at night. So sorry last chapter ended in a cliff hanger, hopefully this one makes up for that unrealized act.

gspratt10807: not sure about saving Regulus. In the books, Hermione doesn't really find out about him until the seventh book, and she was sent back right before all of that started. But I'll see what I can do.

I really enjoyed writing this chapter, so I hope that you all enjoy reading it as well. Can't wait to share this next chapter either. Hogsmeade will be Chapter 20 (Sorry themysteriousnicole! But it is one of the longest chapters I've written so far.) Please review! So close to 100!

Hermione had only used the Room of Requirement during fifth year for Dumbledore's Army, but she was always amazed at what the room provided. Apparently, the room felt that Hermione needed a place of comfort, so it had provided a moderate room that was fashioned after her parents' living room. She smiled to herself when she took in a replica of the small trunk that her parents' had used as a coffee table; they had found that at an estate sale when Hermione was seven. Their wide, yet slightly sagging, tan couch filled with mismatched yellow pillows, and a few random sofa seats, halfway surrounding the table. To the side of the semi-circle was an empty hearth with a pile of logs waiting to be used. But the most interesting bit was the wall that all the seats were facing.

The main wall of the room was almost completely covered in muggle corkboard. There were two long strings already held in place by pins along the upper and lower half of the board; the first pins were labeled 'August 1977' and the last pins 'August 1997.'

Hermione wore a pained and puzzled expression as she examined the board, "I guess I am supposed to change things…" She had mulled over the conversation that she had with the older Remus many times since arriving in 1977, but this board may have been the greatest supporting argument she had received. Hermione had not asked for this specifically, the board was something that the room had assumed she would have use of.

Sirius watched Hermione circle the room, inspecting every inch of it. He was uneasy about the wall; Sirius had somewhat accepted that this girl was from the future, but twenty years?! He took in the sight of her again and tried to imagine what was going through her mind. Sirius couldn't fathom what Hermione was going through, "You're from 1997?"

Hermione turned to face Sirius, "Yes. It's a bit much to take in isn't it?"

His mind did have trouble wrapping itself around the idea, but Sirius tried to remain calm and not allow his initial reaction to take over again. "When were … are you born?"

"The nineteenth of September, 1979. I was only lying a little about my birthday earlier this week," Hermione smiled weakly at Sirius as he did some quick calculations in his head.

"Bloody hell… I'm twenty years older than you," Sirius rubbed the back of his head and furrowed his eyebrows.

"Well actually, right now I'm a couple weeks older then you," Hermione stated making Sirius' brain prick painfully.

"Wait, how do you know that? I haven't told you when my birthday is," Sirius felt the need of a stiff drink. He sat down on the tan couch and leaned his head back on one of the cushions.

Hermione still stood in front of the pegboard wall. She had no idea where to start; this was beginning to be even too complicated for her mind to handle. "I may have lied a bit from before… I may have not known you well myself, but I know a few people who did know you and they taught me quite a bit about you, Peter, James and Lily. I learned a lot about your times at school and after graduation, The Dark Lord's rise to power and the like."

Sirius raised a hand to halt her, "Wait, what about Remus. You didn't mention learned about Remus."

"Oh, well I learned quite a bit about him as well. We're friends in the future, remember? I think that's why I became comfortable speaking to him more quickly then you and the others. He was one of my professors my third year at Hogwarts." Hermione shifted her eyes a bit; she was unsure of how much detail about the future she should delve into for an initial talk.

"So you and I aren't friends in the future?" Sirius was surprised that he felt a bit dejected as he asked this question.

Hermione didn't know what to say, "Um…it's a bit difficult… I'm not sure…It's hard to be friends with someone who isn't exactly around…" The tears had released from Hermione's eyes before she even noticed. She quickly covered her face and squeezed her eyes shut to halt the stream of salt water. Images of an older Sirius falling through the Veil at the Ministry of Magic played behind her eyelids and the scream that had erupted from Harry at the sight of his godfather vanishing, echoed in her ears.

Hermione jumped at the gentle touch on her forearms; Sirius was unsure of what had happened but he was trying to comfort her. He saw the redness still in her eyes, but the tears had disappeared. Sirius' impulse was now telling him to protect this girl; shield her from whatever was causing her so much grief.

"I'm sorry Sirius; I'm just struggling with what I have to tell you."

"Well, what if we make it into a game of sorts," Sirius knew that this was a serious manner, but he hated seeing Hermione breaking so much under the weight of it.

She gave a tired smile, "Alright then, how can we manage that?" Hermione asked as she allowed Sirius to guide her to a seat on the couch.

Sirius sat down beside her and slung her legs over his lap and got comfortable. "Tell me the most outrageous thing you can think of. I mean something really shocking." Sirius' mischievous grin was now in place as he baited her.

Hermione began to mentally shuffle through her future knowledge; a wicked smile spread over her lips as she met Sirius' sparkling grey eyes. "I can't tell you unless you swear some kind of oath that you won't tell a soul."

"I thought that was a whole point of this exercise, Blondie?" Sirius peered at her very confused.

"Yes, well… you can't even tell Remus that you know this one, and he's the one who encouraged me to bring you into the circle of information. You can't breathe a word of this to anyone." Hermione wagged her finger at him sternly, but her smile was still in place.

"Fine, I solemnly swear to keep my mouth shut," Sirius raised his right hand to his heart as he spoke.

Hermione paused briefly as she built up the suspense, "In my time, Remus has just fallen in love with your cousin's daughter." Hermione took a heartbeat before continuing, "I believe you call her Dora? They were just married before I was sent back actually."

Sirius was still smiling but his eyes had gone somewhat blank. "I'm sorry?"

Laughter filled the air as Hermione took in Sirius' completely shocked expression. Sirius wasn't sure if he should be laughing along or yelling at her. "Bloody hell…. Well I guess... it's my fault for telling you to shock me." Sirius rubbed the sides of his temple as his brain continued to process this information, "She just turned four years old a few month ago. This is disturbing…"

Hermione playfully hit is arm, "Like you have any room to judge. You kissed someone who isn't even born yet."

"I didn't know you when you were younger though," He finally began to laugh as he swatted her hand away.

"But you will," Hermione told him a bit uneasily.

"I thought we weren't friends in your future?" Sirius eyed her suspiciously.

Hermione picked at her fingers to distract herself, "We have a very close mutual friend."

"Well, who is that then?" Sirius was becoming hungry for all the information this young woman seemed to hold.

"It's your godson, actually. He's my best friend; more like family really," Hermione trailed off. She took a deep breath to give herself time to collect the courage to answer Sirius' next question.

"Who is my godson?"

Hermione lifted her eyes to Sirius', "Harry James Potter; James and Lily's son."

"James and Lily's…son?" Sirius lifted his hand to cover up his gaping mouth.

"Yes. And you can't tell them any of this. I'll tell them about it after a certain point, but I don't think it's wise to interfere with their time line right now. Promise?" Hermione spoke rather quickly, feeling a bit frantic that she hadn't made Sirius promise to keep quiet before she had divulged this huge piece of the future.

"Yes. Yes, of course." Sirius said kind of dreamily, "Did they really have a son? Are James and Lily married? I'm actually the godfather? I could never see Lily agreeing to that."

Hermione relaxed and giggled at the string of questioning that Sirius was focused on now. Sirius wanted to know all about Harry, and Hermione was happy to provide any information she had available. "You love Harry like he's your own family. But sometimes I think you treat him more like you treat James; more like a brother than a godson."

"Ah, do I detect some disapproval?" Sirius' mind had finally come to terms with the fact that she was from the future, and knew quite a lot about it. He was enjoying how easy the conversation came between Hermione and himself.

"Yes, I'm sorry. Harry's one of my best mates, and he looked up to you. He needed more of a father figure then you were prepared to give him." Hermione instantly regretted what came out of her mouth when she heard the words.

"But why would he need a father figure if he already has a father? Why can't I be the loveable Uncle?" Sirius' hearty laughter stopped short when he saw the miserable expression on Hermione face. "Ah. I have a feeling that we might have come across the first bad part of the future that you need to share with me."

Hermione nodded her head slowly. Telling Sirius about James and Lily seemed to be even more difficult than informing Remus. It might have had something to do with the downward spiral that Sirius' life took after their deaths.

Sirius took Hermione's hand and gave it a comforting squeeze. This gave her the strength to continue tentatively, "You have to understand that I want to fix as much of the horrible things that are supposed to happen as I can. I want to put the time line on a better path, but I have no idea if anything that I try to do will actually change anything. Please keep that in mind when you hear what I have to tell you…"

Hermione found that she could not hold Sirius' stare as she spoke. His grey orbs seemed to bore into her soul, pleading for her to continue.

"And we cannot tell James and Lily until after they are married and pregnant. I don't want to worry them until it is absolutely necessary," Hermione felt her eyes begin to water as she thought about her orphaned friend.

Sirius remained silent; he wanted to give Hermione ample time to collect her words.

"A few months after Harry's first birthday, Voldemort found James and Lily," Hermione took a shaky breathe, "And he killed them."

The blood drained from Sirius' face.

Hermione carefully shifted closer to Sirius on the couch; she was practically sitting in his lap when she flung her arms around his neck. His arms automatically encircled her as he buried his face into her soft yellow hair.

"I'm so sorry Sirius," Hermione held tightly to him and tried to sound optimistic as she whispered in his ear. "We will find a way to save them. I promised myself that I would make a better future for Harry; and we will. We can do it together." Hermione also made a mental note to make sure that she found a way to save Sirius from the Veil; but that was a problem for another day.

Sirius was scary silent as Hermione spoke. He was trembling slightly as he pulled back from her grasp. Sirius cupped her chin and forced Hermione to look directly into his eyes. She could plainly see the agony at her news about James and Lily. "We have to fix this. I cannot stand idly by and watch my friends murdered."

Hermione's mournful brown eyes held Sirius' as they silently agreed. They were going to do everything in their power to save James and Lily.

After a few more seconds of silence, Hermione whispered, "Maybe we should head back to Gryffindor and get some rest." She stood from Sirius' lap but he caught her hand before Hermione could move toward the door.

Sirius looked very pale still and his eyes were dark and glistening a bit in the corners, "I…I think I might stay here tonight. I don't know if I can go back to the tower."

Hermione nodded understandingly, "I know the feeling." She opened the trunk in front of the couch but found nothing inside. Hermione closed the lid and carefully though, I need some blankets and pillows so Sirius is comfortable. She opened the lid again and found that two pillows and a large quilt had appeared. Hermione placed everything on the couch and rose to make her way back to the dorm.

Sirius quickly stood up as she reached for the handle of the door, "Um…Amelia?" Hermione turned back around to face him. "Hm...Uh…is that your real name?"

Hermione shook her head slightly as the corners of her mouth pulled up a bit.

"Of course not, you're too cleaver to use your real name with everyone," Sirius chuckled to himself. "Will you tell me your real name?"

Hermione shook her head again, "I'm not sure if that would be a wise. It might get confusing."

"Well, what if I promised to never use it outside of this room?" Sirius casually offered.

"And what will you call me outside of this room?" Hermione inquired curiously.

Sirius smiled a bit shyly, "Blondie seems to have worked fine up to this point. I think I'll just continue using that when we're in other people's company. I just feel a bit ridiculous not knowing your real name."

There was a few long seconds of silence.

"Hermione. Hermione Granger." Hermione held her hand out to Sirius as if meeting him for the first time.

Sirius wore a lopsided smile as he shook her hand. He didn't let go of her hand after the handshake was finished though. "Hermione," she liked how her real name sounded coming from his lips, "Would you stay with me tonight? I'm not sure I want to be left alone." Sirius look at her with such vulnerable eyes; how could she say no?

Hermione removed her outer robe, shoes and Gryffindor tie and placed them on a nearby chair. Sirius threw his tie and shoes on a different chair and shook out the quilt that Hermione had procured from the room. They settled on the couch together; Sirius with his back wedged into one of the corners with his arm draped along the back of the sofa, and Hermione had her back leaned into his side with her head resting on his shoulder. Sirius tilted his head so it was rested slightly on top of hers.

As Hermione drifted off to sleep she whispered, "Goodnight, Sirius."

"Goodnight, Hermione."
