Chapter 15
Waiting Room at the Women's Correctional Facility…
Lauren, Bo, and Kenzi sat together in the corner of the waiting room as they waited for Lauren to be called. They arrived at the women's prison at 3p.m. and it took them almost 45 minutes to get through security. Kenzi was rather annoyed by the whole process, arguing that she was being searched like she was checking in and not visiting.
Lauren sat nervously as she counted the seconds until it was 4p.m. She held onto Bo's hand tightly as she bit the inside of her cheek, trying desperately to calm her nerves.
"Babe, you're going to chew a hole through your cheek." Bo smiled at Lauren, trying to lighten the mood.
"Maybe this was a bad idea, I don't know if I can do this." Lauren looked at Bo, her face a mask of worry.
"Lauren, listen to me." Bo shifted in her seat so she could look into Lauren's eyes. "You can do this, okay? You are not the same woman who ran away from L.A. over a year ago." Bo tucked a strand of blonde hair behind Lauren's ear. "I have had the privilege of watching you transform from an unsure, shy, and broken person, into a strong, vibrant, and confident woman. Lauren you are absolutely the strongest person I know, and when you go in there and face that monster…" Bo gently took Lauren's face in her hands. "Don't you dare allow her to make you feel or believe otherwise. And I know that the beautiful, strong, sexy woman that you are, will walk in there with your head held high and get the closure that you need."
Lauren's eyes welled up with tears and her heart swelled with love for the woman in front her. The woman who has helped build her back up, the woman who loved and supported her from the beginning, the woman that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with and the woman she was proud to call her girlfriend. "I love you so much Bo Dennis." Lauren whispered. "What would I do without you?"
Bo wiped away the tears that escaped Lauren's eyes and pressed a loving kiss to her soft lips. "I promise you'll never have to find out. I'm not going anywhere. You are the woman that I love and I will stand with you through hell and high water, forever."
Before Lauren could say anything else an officer called her name, informing her that the inmate she was there to see was ready for visitation. Bo and Kenzi stood up with Lauren and just before she walked away, Bo reached out and grabbed her hand, stopping her from proceeding.
"Go in there and close the book on your past, because your future is out here waiting for you." Bo winked at the blonde and gave her hand one more reassuring squeeze before letting go and watching her walk toward the door leading to the visitation area. Lauren looked over her shoulder at Bo and mouthed, "I love you," before crossing the threshold. Bo took a deep breath and sat back down in her seat next to Kenzi.
"That was quite the pep talk you gave your girl Bobear." Kenzi patted Bo's knee. "Shit, I almost shouted out, 'put me in coach!'" Kenzi chuckled.
"Shut up." Bo laughed for a moment before becoming serious. "I meant every word I said to her. She has changed so much since I've known her, since we've been together. Who would have known that the shy blonde in the Dodgers t-shirt that I met in the Dal that day, would turn out to be the woman I fell head over heels in love with."
"I knew there was something there early on. Grant it, I didn't think that you would fall madly in love with her, but I saw, the sparkage." Kenzi admitted.
"What do you mean you knew? How?" Bo asked, a smirk playing on her lips.
"Seriously, anyone with eyes could see that you two were attracted to each other. Honestly though, I thought you would just bang her a few times and then get bored." Kenzi laughed at a scoffing Bo. "Dude, come on Bo, with your track record how can I not think that? Besides, Lauren just seemed like she would've been a little…" Kenzi squinted as she tried to find the right word.
"A little what?" Bo quirked an eyebrow at her best friend.
"Vanilla?" Kenzi said.
"Vanilla?" Bo repeated surprised.
"Yeah she seemed like she would be bland between the sheets, which is why I thought you'd hit it and quit it." Kenzi shrugged.
"I'm sure you figured out by now how wrong your initial assessment was. Lauren is anything but vanilla between the sheets." Bo stated with a huge shit-eating grin. "That woman has ruined me for anyone else, she absolutely rocks my world every single time we go at it. I can honestly say she is the only person I have ever been with that can not only keep up, but also satisfy my sexual appetite."
"Trust me I know." Kenzi said as she playfully rolled her eyes. "With as much sex as you two have, I'm surprised you haven't knocked her up yet." Kenzi laughed.
"Only you would say something like that." Bo chuckled. "Good thing one of us isn't a guy or I'm sure we would be expecting by now."
"Can I ask you a question?" Kenzi looked at Bo inquisitively.
"You know you can ask me anything."
"I can't believe I'm gonna ask this." Kenzi mumbled. "Do you miss, um… you know, being with a man?" Kenzi asked hesitantly.
"Are you asking me if I miss penises?" Bo laughed.
"Well, yeah… do you? Cuz I know I would, I need um… well you know…" Kenzi looked around and whispered, "Penetration to finish."
"No I don't miss being with a man; trust me Lauren gives me everything I need and more." Bo chuckled. "In fact, Lauren is way better with a fake one, than most of the real ones I've experienced."
"First of all, TMI Bo and second, shut the fuck up, really?!" Kenzi's jaw dropped.
"Oh hell yeah." Bo took a deep breath through her nose as she closed her eyes and bit her lower lip. "She's the only person that has ever given me a multiple O, and she does it on a regular basis." Bo looked at Kenzi with a huge grin. "Kenz, I have had the most amazing, earth shattering orgasms with her, and she is hands down the best lover I have ever had. To tell you the truth, she can completely undo me without the aid of toys. We don't even use them very often; my girl is just that good." Bo smiled widely.
"Again TMI! Kenzi shook her head. "But seriously, better than D-man?" Kenzi asked.
"It's not even a competition." Bo said with certainty. "With Lauren, It's not just the physical aspect of our intimacy that makes it so incredible; we also connect on a deeper emotional level as well. We don't just have sex, we make love, and for the first time in my life I know the difference."
"It's kind of strange to hear you talk that way, good, but strange, especially since you've always said that you needed variety."
"Well, what can I say? I found the one, the love of my life." Bo grinned. "And I do have variety; Lauren has just made me realize that I don't need to have multiple partners to have variety in the bedroom. Believe me she gives me all the variety I can handle, our sex life is anything but boring."
Kenzi smiled at her bestie as she leaned back in her chair. She sat quietly as she contemplated everything that Bo had said. The more she thought about it the more Kenzi realized that she wanted to find her Lauren, her forever love; she just hoped that the "one" really existed for her too.
Meanwhile in the visitation room…
Nadia sat at the table in the visitation room quietly as she waited to see who it was that requested a visit. She already had a visit from Tori earlier in the day and since inmates are only allowed to have one visit a day, she was confused as to why she was getting a second one. She wasn't complaining though, it beats having to sit in her cell. She drummed her fingers impatiently on the table as she waited for her visitor, for what seemed like an eternity. Just when she was about to make a fuss the door opened up and in walked in a woman she never expected to see, Karen Beattie.
Nadia leaned back in her chair as she eyed the blonde, a smug smirk playing on her lips. She watched the Doctor closely as she took a seat across from her. Even though her head was held high, Nadia could see the nervousness.
"Well, well, well… my runaway girlfriend has returned." Nadia snorted. "I knew you'd come crawling back eventually. Let me guess, you tried to start over, but realized that nobody else wants you." Nadia spat out as Lauren put her head down. "I mean who would want you? Look at you, you're pathetic." Nadia laughed heartlessly. "I guess if you prove to me that you are still worth my time, I can give you a second chance. You and Tori, you remember Tori, the woman who knew how to fuck me properly." Nadia chuckled. "Anyway, you two can alternate days that way I can have a visit every day." Nadia leaned forward in her seat, eyeing Lauren for a few minutes before and snapping her fingers to try and get the Doctor to look up. "Are you a fucking mute now?" Nadia said irritably.
Lauren closed her eyes and shook her head. She pictured Bo and began to replay her words in her head, 'you are absolutely the strongest person I know… Don't you dare allow her to make you feel or believe otherwise…' Those words seemed to do the trick as her nervousness began to fade away and her confidence started to rise.
"No." Lauren took a deep breath and looked Nadia in the eye. "I am not your girlfriend; I am not here in an effort to reconcile with you, and I will never, ever allow you back in my life. I am not the same weak woman that you used to smack around. I will not tolerate you speaking to me in the manner in which you've grown accustomed." Lauren sighed and leaned forward in her seat, never once breaking eye contact with her abuser. "I actually feel sorry for you Nadia. You come across as a strong confident woman, when in reality, like most bullies and abusers; you're a weak, scared, little girl, who has to use brute force and fear to maintain a sense of control to feel good about yourself. You abused me both physically and emotionally, for years, because it was you who was terrified that if I left, you'd have nobody to love you. You created a façade to keep people believing that you were the perfect girlfriend, the perfect cop, and the perfect neighbor. Deep down you knew that if people got to know the real you, nobody would want to stick around."
"WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU'RE TALKING TOO!" Nadia shouted as she slammed her hands down on the table, breathing heavily as she fumed.
"INMATE! LOWER YOUR VOICE!" The guard shouted from behind Lauren.
Nadia clenched her jaw in anger as she leaned back in her chair. Lauren can see the rage in her eyes, but she wasn't scared in the least.
"Same old Nadia… I see you still have temper tantrums." Lauren said as she shook her head.
"You are only talking shit because I'm in here. Let's see how brave you are when I get out." Nadia said in a low dangerous tone.
"And you called me pathetic? I would hope that in… what is it again? Five? Eight years from now, that you've moved on, because I already have. I am only here to get closure, to tell you that I am not afraid of you anymore. And after everything you've done to me… I forgive you. Not because you deserve it, but because I do. I deserve to shed my miserable past and pursue a future with the woman that I love more than anything, free from you and the emotional baggage that I have carried around for far too long. I deserve better and so does she, and I plan on spending the rest of my life making sure we get the happiness that we both deserve." Lauren stood to her feet and looked down at Nadia. "Goodbye Nadia, I hope you get the help that you so desperately need." With that Lauren turned and let the guard know she was done with her visit.
"You think you can just walk away from me! You think that I will allow you to just leave me for good! I don't care what bitch you have, we're never going to be done! You hear me! You make sure to tell your bitch, you will always be mine!" Nadia yelled as the guard took her down to the ground to cuff her in the middle of her outburst.
Lauren refused to give Nadia any more attention by acknowledging her outburst. Instead she walked out of the visitation room with her held high and a huge smile playing across her lips. She breathed easy as she felt the weight her abusive past come off her shoulders; she finally took back her life, she stood up to her abuser and got the closure that she needed. She smiled even wider at the thought of the sexy brunette that was waiting for her in the waiting room. The woman she loved with all her heart and soul, the woman that gave her the strength to close the book on Nadia once and for all. The woman she was determined to spend the rest of her life with.
As soon as Lauren entered into the waiting room, Bo and Kenzi were on their feet. Lauren made eye contact with Bo and the intensity in Lauren's eyes sent a shiver through Bo's body. Lauren took long strides and as soon as she was in front of Bo she took the brunette in her arms and kissed her passionately. Bo melted instantly in the Doctor's embrace as she held onto the blonde's waist. Lauren broke the kiss and leaned back to look at Bo.
"I did it." Lauren smiled as tears slowly trickled down her cheeks. "It's finally over; it's finally all put behind me."
"That's my girl. I knew you could do it." Bo whispered and kissed Lauren softly.
"Krhm." Kenzi cleared her throat to get the lovers attention. "You think I can get in on the hugging too?" Kenzi smiled.
"Of course you can." Lauren wrapped an arm around Kenzi and pulled her into the hug. "Thank you both, I couldn't have done it without you guys." Lauren gave them both one more squeeze before pulling back. "Let's go out and celebrate, wherever you guys want to go."
"Well, after that kiss, I really want to go back to the hotel and have my way with you." Bo husked as she wrapped an arm around Lauren's waist and pulled her in close.
"Hmm… that does sound like a good idea." Lauren whispered into Bo's ear as she draped her arms around Bo's neck.
"Nu uh, no way, if that happens we won't be going anywhere tonight and I'll get stuck all by myself, in my room watching reality TV." Kenzi looked at the couple incredulously. "So let's compromise."
"She's right babe." Lauren smiled at a pouting Bo.
"Fine, what's the compromise?" Bo relented.
"We can all go back to the hotel now, we'll do our own thing for dinner, this way you guys have more time to boink each other's brains out, then we'll meet up at 9:30 and I get to choose where we go. No arguments, you guys just gotta go with it, deal?" Kenzi extended her hand with a quirked eyebrow.
Bo and Lauren looked at each other skeptically. "I don't know, I'll let you call it." Lauren grinned at Bo.
"I'm a little worried about what we will be dragged into, but I really, really want to get some." Bo bit her lip as she contemplated her choices. "I hope I don't regret this." Bo shook Kenzi's hand. "Deal, now let's get out of here… there is a sexy blonde that I need to get naked as soon as possible."
The trio walked quickly out of the building, through the parking garage, and to the car. Lauren sped through the streets of LA to the hotel, she too had the overwhelming need to get Bo naked and celebrate her new found freedom. And did she ever, the couple spent the next 3 hours making love on the bed and then in the bath, before they moved onto a very sexy shower together. Lauren never felt more alive. For the first time in almost 10 years, Lauren truly felt like herself again. She was alive, and free from Nadia, and she was in love with the most beautiful woman she had ever set eyes on. The couple had been together for almost 7 months, 7 wonderful months. And as Lauren lay in bed, wrapped up in Bo's arms, she silently decided that as soon as she started working with Dr. Caravelle, she would ask Bo to get a place together. She also planned on asking Bo to marry her within the next year. She didn't want to wait any longer to start living their lives together. She just hoped that it wasn't too much to ask too soon. Lauren drifted off to sleep with a smile on her face as she thought about what it would be like to be married to Bo.
One month later…
"Where's the Doc?" Kenzi inquired as she approached Bo, who was currently mixing a drink behind the bar.
"She's got the closing shift this week at the clinic; she should be here by 11." Bo responded as she poured the drink and passed it to the patron who ordered it.
"11? I thought they close at 10?" Kenzi asked as she helped herself to a shot of tequila.
"They do, but by the time they shut everything down it's at least 10:40, then it takes her another 10-15 minutes to get here." Bo took the bottle of tequila back from Kenzi and poured her a beer.
Since being back from LA, Lauren started working for Dr. Caravelle and had settled into a nice routine. She worked Monday through Friday, usually 7am to 5pm at the clinic and every other weekend in the ER of the local hospital. Those weekends are killer; she is on for 18 hours on those days. The good thing is that she always gets that following Monday and Tuesday off, and it's also her week on the closing shift, which works to her benefit because it would mean she only has to close for 3 days instead of 5 at the clinic.
Although Bo sees a little less of her girlfriend, she is really proud and happy that Lauren went back to being a Doctor. She could see how happy Lauren is practicing medicine and that is worth giving up a little bit of time together. But, no matter how demanding her work schedule has been, Lauren makes it a point to come into the Dal after her shift and spend a little time with Bo. It doesn't matter how tired the Doctor may be, she sits and has a drink at the bar, engaging in small talk in between Bo serving the patrons, and on a handful of occasions she's snuck into the barrel room with Bo for a quickie.
"So how are you holding up with her new work schedule?" Kenzi asked as she sipped her beer.
"I'm still adjusting to it, but I'm happy that she's doing what she loves." Bo began wiping down the bar top while conversing with Kenzi. "I'm just glad that no matter what I still get to crawl into bed with her at the end of the day."
"So what's going on with that? I know you guys alternate between our place and her room; I thought you were going to ask her to move in?"
"I am I just wanted her to get settled into her new job before I asked her." Bo put the towel over her shoulder and leaned on the bar top in front of Kenzi. "Hey, is everything all set for her surprise party this weekend, guest list, decorations?"
"Yup! Trick is going to close down the Dal early so we can get everything all set up and I contacted Dr. Caravelle so he can let her coworkers know about the party. Did you get a hold of her Mom and Brother?"
"Yeah, they are flying in Saturday morning. Trick is going to pick them up at the airport and drop them off at the hotel. Just don't forget to bring them here while we are at the Maple Leafs game." Bo said.
"So she still has no idea?" Kenzi asked as Bo refilled her drink.
"Nope, she thinks we are just going to a Maple Leafs game then dinner. She was pretty bummed that she wouldn't be able to go up to see her family, so she'll definitely be surprised to see her Mom and Brother here for the party. She talks to them all the time on the phone, but she hasn't seen them in 8 months." Bo sighed. "I'm just glad I can do this for her birthday."
"I'm sure she'll love her surprise. That should get you extra special sexing that night, hell, the whole weekend!" Kenzi chuckled.
"I'm sure it will." Bo smirked as she moved to help another customer. Bo just hoped that everything went according to plan. She really wanted to do something special for her girlfriend. Now all she had to do was go out and buy her the perfect gift.
Saturday Afternoon…
Bo: Is everything set?
Kenzi: Yup! The eagles have landed and are in route to the nest.
Bo: ?
Kenzi: OMG Bo! U didn't get that?
Bo: No. Why are texting in code? Lauren isn't going to see this.
Kenzi: Cuz its more fun that way. ;-)
Bo: Just speak English plz.
Kenzi: fine, ur no fun!
Kenzi: Her mom n bro have landed, Trick is picking them up n taking them to the hotel.
Bo: much better thx. I'll see ya soon, were headed to the game.
Kenzi: K, TTYL
"Babe you ready?" Bo called from the living room.
"Yeah, I'm coming." Lauren called back.
Bo sat in the living room, flipping through the channels as she waited for Lauren. She kept going over the plan for the evening in her head. 'Maple leafs game, then I tell her I want get a drink at the Dal before dinner, with any luck everyone be there when we arrive, hopefully she's happy about the party, at least she'll be happy to see her family. I hope she likes her gift from me. Oh god, I'm meeting her family.' Bo was brought out of her thoughts when Lauren startled her by leaning over the back of the couch and kissing her on the cheek.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." Lauren chuckled. "What are thinking about?"
"Oh I was just hoping that you have a good time tonight. I know how much you really wanted to see your Mom and Jake this weekend for your birthday, I'm sorry it didn't work out." Bo said as she stood to her feet.
"It's okay, Jake had planned the cruise with my Mom a long time ago; I couldn't let them cancel for me." Lauren reached for Bo when she made her way over to her, wrapping her arms around the brunette's neck. "Besides, going to watch my favorite team with my favorite girl is a great way to spend my birthday." Lauren kissed Bo thoroughly, earning a moan from her.
"Well then, let's get going birthday girl; I have a few things in store for you tonight." Bo said salaciously.
"Mmm… I hope that includes nakedness." Lauren smirked.
"Oh don't you worry Doctor you are definitely getting lucky tonight." Bo grinned, showing off the dimple Lauren loved so much. Bo kissed Lauren once more before taking her hand and leading her out to the car.
Later that night…
"I can't believe you caught a puck babe!" Lauren said excitedly as she examined the puck. "I've never seen that happen in real life."
"Yeah me either. I have a hell of a bruise on my palm to prove it." Bo chuckled.
"This has been an awesome night so far." Lauren leaned across the center console and kissed Bo's cheek as she drove. "Where to next?"
"I have dinner reservations, but that's not until 7, so I was thinking we get a drink with Kenzi at the Dal before we head to dinner. And then after dinner we go home for dessert." Bo smirked as she glanced at Lauren.
"That sounds like a plan. Or… we could skip the Dal, pull over and have a little dessert before dinner." Lauren once again leaned over the center console, this time sucking gently on Bo's earlobe.
"Damn babe… you're going to make me crash if you keep doing that." Bo said as she tried to calm her raging libido.
"Pull over Bo… I want you, right here, right now." Lauren began to nibble her way down Bo's neck. "We can finally christen the back seat."
"You know I can't say no to you, but babe, it has to be a quickie. I already promised Kenz, and I don't want to hear her mouth if we don't show." Bo said, leaning her head to the side to give Lauren better access.
"That's fine, just pull over baby." Lauren mumbled as she continued her assault on Bo's neck.
Bo pulled over and followed Lauren into the back seat. Bo knew that this would turn into to more than just a quickie. But when it came to Lauren she couldn't resist, she always craved the blonde and she would never turn down sex with Lauren, she was physically incapable of doing so.
A little while later, Bo lay on top of Lauren, both women panting heavily after their third round, the windows were all fogged up and the smell of sex was thick in the air. Once they caught their breath, they sat up and began dressing. Bo looked at her watch and cringed, knowing Kenzi was probably freaking out because they hadn't arrived yet. Once dressed Bo climbed into the driver's seat and retrieved her phone from the cup holder.
"Shit! Kenzi has called like 10 times, left me 6 voicemails and 4 texts." Bo flipped the sun visor down so she can look in the mirror at her disheveled appearance as Lauren settled in the passenger seat and did the same. "We totally look like we just fucked in the car." Bo chuckled.
"She isn't going to let us live this down once she gets a look at us, she is going to know right off the bat what we were doing." Lauren laughed.
"Yeah, but it was so worth it." Bo leaned in and kissed Lauren. "Let's just make ourselves as presentable as possible and deal with the wrath of the little Russian. After a few shots she'll be fine."
"It's 6:30 Bo, should we just go straight to the restaurant and beg Kenzi for forgiveness later?" Lauren asked.
"Nah, I'll call up the restaurant when we get to the Dal and push our reservation to 7:30, we'll have at least one drink with Kenzi and my Grandfather then we'll go to dinner." Bo said as she pulled the car back onto the road.
"Okay that'll work." Lauren said as she fastened her seat belt. "By the way, that was amazing. We'll have to do that again with the top down when it's not snowing out."
"We sure will. That was the best car sex ever." Bo reached for Lauren's hand, intertwining their fingers together. "I have to admit, I thought we wouldn't have enough room at first, but you are quite flexible Doctor."
"Years of yoga is finally paying off." The women laughed and a few minutes later they pulled into the parking lot of the Dal.
Bo exited the car and went around opening Lauren's door, extending her hand to help Lauren out. Lauren and Bo straightened each other's clothes and hair out to make themselves as presentable as possible.
"Okay, do I look like I just had sex in the back seat of the car?" Lauren said as she twirled around.
"No, not really. How about me?" Bo asked as she twirled around.
"No, I don't think so." Lauren took Bo's hand. "Let's go get yelled at by our little Russian shall we?" Lauren chuckled.
The pair walked hand in hand into the Dal. Just as Lauren was about to ask why all the lights were out, someone flipped the switch and the group inside yelled, "SURPRISE!" Lauren stood at the entrance, clutching Bo's hand, wide-eyed and shocked. She was not expecting a surprise party. She turned to look at Bo who was smiling brightly at her.
"Surprise baby, Happy Birthday." Bo whispered in her ear before kissing her on the cheek.
"Oh my god Bo, you did this for me?" Lauren looked at Bo with glassy eyes.
"Yup, but that's not all… look." Bo pointed in the direction of Lauren's Mom and brother who were making their way over to the couple.
Lauren looked at where Bo was pointing, her tears finally spilled over as she was overcome with emotion at seeing her family after long months. Bo released her hand and Lauren practically jumped into the arms of her brother. She let go of her brother and began crying as she pulled her mom in for a long overdue hug. Bo stepped back and watched the family reunion, her own tears building up as she looked at the tears of joy streaming down Lauren and her Mom's face.
"I can't believe you guys are here!" Lauren wiped her tears as her smile continued to grow. "Jake you asshole, you said you and Mom were going on a cruise!" Lauren said as she punched her brother on the arm.
"Ow, I had to tell you something to throw you off the track. Bo worked too hard to put this all together for you; I wasn't going to ruin it." Jake said as he rubbed his arm.
Lauren turned around and looked adoringly at Bo. "I can't believe you did all this."
Bo stepped forward, grinning from ear to ear. "I knew how much you wanted to see your family, so I called your mom, told her about the party and asked them if they could come."
"She even flew us out here, which by the way, she refused to let us reimburse her for." Lauren's Mom said quirking an eyebrow at Bo.
"It's not necessary; consider it my gift to all of you." Bo smiled. "Mrs. Beattie, I love your daughter very much, I'd do anything for her." Bo put her arm around Lauren's waist and Lauren instantly leaned into Bo.
"I can see that and please call me Alice." Alice smiled brightly at Bo before looking at Lauren. "You found a good one dear, hang on to her."
"Oh I plan to." Lauren kissed Bo on the cheek.
"Well enough of the mushy stuff, let's get this party started!" Jake yelled as he made his way back to the bar. Alice shook her head and followed after her son.
Lauren wrapped her arms around Bo. "I love you so much Bo, thank you, for all of this."
Bo pulled back from the embrace to look at Lauren. "I love you too. And you're welcome, like I told your mom, I'd do anything for you."
Lauren took a hold of Bo's face and kissed her passionately. The kiss was cut short by an upset Kenzi.
"Excuse me, where the hell have you two been? You guys were over an hour late!" Kenzi looked at the guilty pair with a hand on her hip.
"Well, uh… you see, we uh…" Bo cleared her throat as Lauren tried to stifle her laugh.
"I swear you guys are fucking horndogs! You totally fucked before you got here didn't you? And don't try to lie; I know when you're lying." Kenzi scolded.
"It's my fault Kenz, I made it impossible for her to say no. Can you forgive us? Please?" Lauren gave Kenzi her best puppy dog eyes.
"Fine! But only because it's your birthday and you deserve a little pre party birthday sex." Kenzi huffed. "Now come on, let's go greet your other guests and get our drink on!" Kenzi exclaimed as she led the couple through the crowd.
Lauren spent the next hour mingling and greeting her other guests, which mostly consisted of her new coworkers. At some point Bo made her way behind the bar to assist Trick with serving drinks. Every now and then she'd glance over at Lauren and smile at how happy the blonde looked. Whenever they made eye contact Lauren would mouth "I love you." And Bo would wink and blow her a kiss.
Bo stood back and took in the scene. Everyone was laughing and talking and just having a good time. Bo took a deep breath and let it out slowly. She looked over at Kenzi and Hale playing pool and being flirty, Trick engaged in conversation with Lauren's mom, Alice, and Lauren and her brother sitting at a booth catching up. Bo smiled as she realized, this was her family. Even though she just met Lauren's mom and brother she knew that they had hit it off, and since Bo planned on spending the rest of her life with Lauren, they were now a part of her family too. Bo had always wanted a real family, albeit this one is a little unconventional, but nevertheless this was her family.
Bo began to daydream about what it would be like when they celebrated Lauren's 40th, that was still 8 years away, but she couldn't help picturing it. By that time Lauren would be her wife and they would have at least 2 little ones running around by then. Bo shook her head and chuckled, 'when did I become so sappy?' She thought to herself. 'Oh yeah, when I fell in love with the beautiful Dr. Lauren Lewis.'
For the first time in her life, Bo had a plan. For the first time, Bo felt like her life had a purpose. For the first time in her life, Bo wanted to be better, she wanted to do more, and she wanted to be more, for herself and for Lauren and their future children. At the moment, in the middle of Lauren's party Bo made a decision, she was going to go back to school. She wanted to be a wife that Lauren could be proud of, she was going to be a wife that Lauren could be proud of. Bo smiled widely as she thought, 'Lauren Lewis you have flipped my entire world upside down, and I love you for doing it!' Bo looked at Lauren across the room and said to no one in particular, "God I love that woman!" The things we do for love.
