Chapter 16

The Dal, after the party…

Lauren's surprise party had been a huge success. The food was great, the drinks were plentiful, and the cake was to die for. The last person had just gone home so Trick and Bo were finally able to start the clean-up process. Bo was behind the bar washing glasses, while Trick went to toss out the final trash bag.

"That was some party." Trick sat down at the bar in front of Bo. "It's been a long time since I've been up this late." Trick chuckled.

"It sure has hasn't it?" Bo smiled. "Thank you for all your help tonight Trick, I really appreciate it." Bo said as she began drying glasses.

"You're welcome, I'm just glad I could help." Trick looked at Bo and smiled widely.

"What?" Bo asked as she caught Trick looking at her with a knowing smile.

"You really are smitten with the good Doctor, aren't you?" Trick said, more as a comment than a question.

"Yeah, I am." Bo stopped what she was doing and looked at Trick with a huge grin. "I am very much in love with Lauren. I've never felt this way about anyone before." Bo sighed happily as she leaned on the bar top. "She makes me want to be a better person."

"It makes me really happy to see you so happy Bo. For a while there, I didn't think you would ever settle down." Trick laughed. "You know, Alice is quite fond of you. She said she has never seen Lauren so care free and so full of joy. She said she knows she has you to thank for that."

"She said that huh?" Bo smiled brightly. "I'm glad to hear that, I was so nervous to meet her and Jake."

"Well, they both think you're great." Trick patted Bo's hand.

"Trick, I've been thinking…" Bo sighed. "I think I want to back to school, make something of myself."

"Ysabeau, I think that's a great idea!" Trick said excitedly. "What made you decide that?"

"Lauren, mostly. I want to marry her Trick; I want a family with her. The more I think about a future with her, the more I want to do better… be better. I want to be a partner she can be proud of." Bo admitted.

"Wow, you really want to get married and settle down?" Trick asked a little surprised.

"I know, it's surprising, but… she's the one Trick. I can't imagine my life without her, and I don't want to either." Bo said.

"I knew she was the one, I could just tell by the way you look at her. It's the same way I looked at your grandmother." Trick said proudly. "Go for it Ysabeau, go back to school, and then put a ring on that woman's finger. You have my love and support, you both do."

"Thanks Trick, it means a lot to me." Bo looked at Trick through glassy eyes.

"Why don't you head on up to your place, I'll finish up down here." Trick said as he made his way behind the bar.

"Are you sure?" Bo asked.

"Of course I'm sure, it's just a few more glasses to dry. Besides I'm sure you and Lauren would like some alone time." Trick winked.

"Okay, if you insist." Bo handed Trick the towel and started toward the door. "Oh, Trick? When Lauren gets back from dropping off her mom and brother, can you send her up?"

"Sure. Where's Kenzi by the way?"

"She left with Hale." Bo smirked.

"Really? That's interesting." Trick chuckled. "Well, enjoy the rest of your night."

"I'm sure I will." Bo said under her breath as she made her way up to her apartment.

30 minutes later, Bo's place…

"Babe?" Lauren called out as she entered into Bo's apartment. She looked curiously around the dimly lit apartment, but there was no sign of her girlfriend. She made her way towards Bo's room and as she approached the door she seen that it was partially opened. "Babe, you in he-" Lauren's words stopped in her throat as she pushed the door open to reveal a naked Bo, propped up against the headboard of the bed, arms spread open and resting on the pillows on either side of her. Her beautifully toned legs were crossed at the ankle, her full breasts on display for Lauren to admire, and her long brown locks rested over her shoulders. Lauren stood in the door way taking in every inch of the gorgeous brunette in front of her. There were rose petals scattered around the carpet and the bed, the only light came from candles that were lit all around the room.

"Wow… you, this… wow!" Lauren's mouth went dry as she tried in vain to form a complete sentence.

"You see something you like Doctor?" Bo smirked mischievously.

"Oh yeah, I definitely do." Lauren approached the bed slowly.

"Why don't you come over here and get your present." Bo bit her lip seductively as she slowly spread her legs, revealing her perfectly trimmed wet center.

"No birthday bow?" Lauren teased as she unbuttoned her top, tossing it to the floor before doing the same with her jeans.

"I'm the only birthday Bo you need… now come and get it." Bo purred.

Lauren didn't need to be told again, she removed the rest of her clothes and slowly crawled her way towards Bo. She took a hold of Bo's legs and gently pulled her down so that Bo was lying flat on her back with her legs spread wide open. She then continued her slow ascent leaving a trail of kisses up Bo's legs, and on her inner thighs, which caused the brunette to shiver in anticipation. Lauren skipped over her heated center and continued to nibble and kiss her hip bones, then her naval, then finally her beautiful breasts. Bo moaned loudly when Lauren took a hardened nipple into her mouth, sucking it gently, then swirling her tongue around, before moving to the other one.

Bo tangled her fingers in blonde locks as Lauren continued give her breasts attention. Before moving on to Bo's neck, Lauren bit and sucked the tender flesh right above Bo's nipple, marking her.

"Baby you love to mark my boobs, don't you?" Bo chuckled as Lauren assaulted her neck.

"Mmm hmm, gotta mark my territory." Lauren mumbled into Bo's neck. "If it were possible I would suck on them all day, I love them." Lauren hovered over Bo. They smiled and looked into each other's eyes.

Bo brushed some hair out of Lauren's face then pulled her down into a heated kiss. Lips moved in sync along with tongues. Lauren moaned into Bo's mouth as she felt the familiar caress of Bo's tongue. Lauren moved so that her center met Bo's. They began to move against each other in a slow rhythm, as they continued to kiss passionately. Lauren broke the kiss and rested her forehead against Bo's as their breathing became heavier, their hips rocked at a faster pace for several minutes, and their moans became louder.

"Oh fuck, Bo…" Lauren panted. "You feel sooo good baby." Lauren's movements became more erratic as her orgasm approached.

"Don't stop Lauren… please don't stop!" Bo pleaded as she began to climax.

A few more thrusts and both women screamed out as the powerful orgasms ripped through their bodies. Both shuddered and trembled, slowing their tempo to ride out the waves of ecstasy. After a few minutes Lauren collapsed on the bed next to Bo as she tried to catch her breath.

"One word, epic." Bo chuckled as she cuddled up next to Lauren.

"I concur." Lauren replied, licking her lips.

Bo rolled over and reached under the bed, pulling out a small gift wrapped box. She turned back towards Lauren and held out the small box for her to take.

"What's this?" Lauren looked at the box then at Bo.

"Well, if you accept what is in this box, you will get the gift that is under that sheet." Bo said pointing to the object in the corner of the room that was covered in a black sheet.

Lauren sat up and leaned against the headboard, Bo following suit. Lauren smiled at Bo and begun to unwrap the box. She ripped off the paper as neatly as possible and slowly lifted the lid to the cardboard box.

"A key?" Lauren asked as she removed the key from the box.

"That is a key to this apartment." Bo took a deep breath and looked Lauren in the eye. "Lauren, over the last few months we have spent more days and nights waking up and going to sleep next to each other, and when you're not here I feel like a piece of me is missing, and I'm not whole again until you are back in my arms. I have given this a lot of thought and I don't want to spend one more night without you here in this bed, our bed." Bo smiled lovingly at Lauren. "So what do you say Doctor, will you move in with me?"

Lauren looked down at the key and then back to Bo. She smiled widely and then pulled Bo into a lingering kiss, before whispering against her lips, "yes."

"Really?" Bo asked as she pulled back, a huge grin plastered across her face.

"Yes, really, I'd love to move in with you." Lauren kissed Bo once again.

Bo hopped out of bed and walked over to the sheet covered object. "Then this, my love is for you." Bo pulled back the sheet to reveal a dresser that matched the rest of the furniture in Bo's room. "Along with that nightstand on your side of the bed, and half the closet." Bo pulled open the closet door to show Lauren she already cleared half of it for her. Bo's smile reached her eyes as Lauren laughed at how adorable Bo was at the moment.

"So you had this all planned?" Lauren grinned. "What if I had said no?"

"Well I was kind of banking on you saying yes." Bo reached into her closet and pulled out a rectangular black velvet jewelry box, with a red bow on it. "But just in case you said no, I got you this." Bo made her way over to the bed and sat down next to Lauren. "Actually, that's not completely true, me asking you to move was going to happen regardless of it being your birthday, so all this…" Bo waved her hand around the room. "…is not really a birthday gift." Bo handed Lauren the gift box. "This is though."

"Bo, you've given me so much already." Lauren cupped Bo's cheek. "The party, flying my mom and brother out, the Maple Leaf's game, half of your room." Lauren chuckled. "It's too much."

"It will never be enough. I love you, and you deserve this and so much more." Bo kissed Lauren's palm gently. "Open it." Bo nodded toward the gift.

Lauren pulled off the bow with care and opened up the black velvet box. She gasped and brought her hand up to her chest, as tears formed in her eyes. Inside the box lay a white gold rope chain, with a heart shaped diamond pendant that had a heartbeat line in the center of the heart. It wasn't overly flashy but you can tell it was expensive. It wasn't too big, but big enough to see the exquisite detail.

"Oh my god, Bo… this is absolutely beautiful." Lauren whispered.

"So you like it?" Bo bit her lip as she tried to control her grin.

"I love it babe." Lauren smiled widely. "I really love the cardiac rhythm pattern in the center of it."

"So that's what that's called… I just kept calling it a heartbeat sign." Bo chuckled. "Anyway, when I saw it in the jewelry store I had to get it for you. I immediately thought it represented everything I wanted to say to you, what I want you to always remember."

"What's that?" Lauren asked softly.

"Turn it over, look at the inscription." Bo said.

Lauren gradually removed the necklace from its casing, turned it over in her hand and read:

"My heart beats for you. I love you. –Bo"

The tears that Lauren tried to hold at bay flowed freely down her cheeks. She looked at Bo and smiled.

"No one has ever given me anything as meaningful or as beautiful as this." Lauren pulled Bo in and kissed her passionately. "I love you so much Bo. This has been the best birthday I have ever had, thank you." Lauren said as she pulled back and gazed into her girlfriend's eyes.

"You're welcome… and I love you too Lauren, happy birthday." Bo leaned in and kissed Lauren once more.

"Will you put it on me?" Lauren asked, handing Bo the necklace and holding her hair up.

Bo fastened the necklace around Lauren's neck and took the opportunity to pepper kisses up and down the blonde's neck. That is all it took as things quickly became heated. Bo lightly pushed Lauren onto her back and settled on top of her. Bo spent the next few hours making love to Lauren and bringing her to mind-blowing orgasm after mind-blowing orgasm. In the early morning hours they finally succumbed to exhaustion and fell asleep holding each other close.

9:00am that morning…

Bo and Lauren were sleeping peacefully in each other's arms as the morning sun peeked through the blinds. They had the sheet just covering their most intimate areas. They had only been asleep for a handful of hours after their lovemaking session, when Kenzi entered the house calling for them.

"Bo, Hotpants!" Kenzi shouted as she walked down the hallway toward Bo's room. She knocked on the bedroom door twice before walking in with her hand covering her eyes. "Are you two covered up? I'm not trying to see naked lady bits."

Lauren buried her face deeper into Bo's neck as Bo let out an annoyed groan. "Yes! We're covered, why are you waking us up so damn early? We've only been asleep for a few hours." Bo complained, making sure to keep her eyes closed.

"If you spent the night getting laid, shouldn't you be in a better mood?" Kenzi rested a hand on her hip as she jutted it out. "I know I am." She said with a smirk.

Bo's eyes shot open as Kenzi's words registered.

"Anyways, I just talked to Trick, and he said that he was on his way to pick up Lauren's mom and brother. I guess they wa-" Kenzi was cut off mid-sentence.

"Wait a minute, back up for a sec, what did you just say?" Bo asked as she lifted her to look at Kenzi.

"Trick is on his way to pick up the Doc's fam bam?"

"No, before that." Bo said.

"I just talked to Trick?" Kenzi smiled knowingly.

"Kenzi! Before that." Bo huffed. "That if I spent the night getting laid, then I should be in a better mood, cuz you are…" Bo sat up as Lauren shifted to sit up as well, both women looking at Kenzi with smirks.

"Oh yeah, that, Hale and I totally sealed the deal last night, but whatevs." Kenzi shrugged like it was no big deal, brushing the hair off of her shoulder.

"What?! You and Hale, that's- finally!" Bo said excitedly.

"It's about damn time, good for you Kenzi." Lauren laughed.

Thank you, thank you." Kenzi bowed dramatically.

"So… dish! Was it everything you thought it would be?" Bo exclaimed.

"I do not kiss and tell." Kenzi put her hands on her hips and rolled her eyes, before looking at Bo and Lauren with a huge smile. "But it was fuckin' awesome!" Kenzi was beyond giddy. "There is no time for details, I have to get ready, my man is taking me out to brunch, and you and your lady love have to get ready for brunch with the Beattie's." Kenzi winked at the pair and walked out the door.

"I want details later!" Bo shouted as Kenzi disappeared into the hallway.

"Hale is a great guy, I'm glad they are finally taking their relationship to the next level." Lauren said as she moved to sit at the edge of the bed.

"I'm really happy for her." Bo responded as she too moved to get out of bed. "What do you say we hop in the shower and get this day started?" Bo asked as she walked around the bed, and offered her hand to Lauren.

"I'd say that is a great idea." Lauren took the offered hand, standing to her feet and kissing Bo softly on the lips.

The lovers headed to the bathroom, but before they stepped foot into the shower, Bo took Lauren against the sink. Bo and Lauren could never resist each other naked, which was why their showers always took at least an hour, that is of course when they finally made it into the shower.

A little over an hour later Bo and Lauren where finally out of the shower and dressed. Bo walked over and kissed Lauren on the cheek and told her she'd wait for her in the living room, while the Doctor finished her hair.

When Bo walked into the living room she was surprised to see Lauren's brother, Jake sitting on the couch flipping through the channels on the TV.

"Jake, hey, I didn't know you were here." Bo hesitated a little bit, not sure how long Jake had been there and how much he may have heard. "Have you been waiting long?"

"Uh, long enough to hear my sister scream your name at least twice." Jake smirked at a blushing Bo. "Kenzi let me in before she left. I hope that's okay, my mom and Trick were talking and I got bored."

"No, no that's um… that's fine." Bo swallowed hard. "I'm sorry that you had to hear that, Kenzi is used to it so we never… we uh… we don't worry about the noise level." Bo stumbled over her words as Jake just looked at her with a huge grin.

"That's okay Bo; I'm just giving you a hard time." Jake chuckled and turned off the TV. "I'll admit it was a little disturbing, she's my little sister, so I waited out on the porch until you guys… finished." Jake chuckled again before taking a deep breath and becoming serious. "I would like to talk to you for a bit before Lauren comes out here, if that's okay?"

"Yeah, sure." Bo took a seat on the arm chair nearest to Jake. "So… what do you want to talk about?"

"Well, I want talk to you about you and my sister." Jake sighed as he looked at Bo. "I have never got involved with any of my sister's relationships in the past, but after this whole thing with Nadia, I feel like I have to now. I really let my sister down by not checking up on her, or making an effort to meet Nadia. I think if I had, maybe she would have asked for help, and maybe she wouldn't have had to go through all that she did. I failed once as a big brother, I won't do that again."

"I understand." Bo nodded for Jake to continue.

"Bo, I really like you, my Mom absolutely adores you. We can both see how happy you make Lauren. It is obvious you guys love each other very much. Lauren is just like she was before she left to college; she's happy and outgoing, and just so full of life. It's a far cry from the shell of a woman she was when she came home a little over a year ago. I know that it is all because of you… thank you Bo, thank you for sticking by her and supporting her through all of this. I am really happy she found you." Jake looked at Bo with tears in his eyes.

"Jake, everything I have done for her, everything that I have been for her, she has been for me as well." Bo moved to sit next to Jake on the couch. "I love you sister very much, I just want to make her happy for as long as she'll let me."

"I know you do Bo, I believe you." Jake smiled. "Now here comes the big brother speech… if you hurt her Bo, I will hunt you down."

"You won't have to worry about that Jake; I love her too much to fuck this up." Bo patted Jake's knee. "Just so you know, when the time is right, I am going to ask her to marry me, and I promise I will ask you and Mrs. Beattie for your blessing first."

"Well, I can tell you right now Bo, you have mine already. Any woman that would go out of her way to fly us out here, just to make my sister happy on her birthday deserves my blessing. Just promise me you'll always take care of her Bo." Jake looked at Bo seriously.

"I promise Jake. That's all I want to do, protect her, make her happy, and keep giving her mind-blowing sex." Bo laughed.

"Well, judging from what I've heard, you got that part pretty well taken care of." Jake laughed loudly. "I think we are going to get along just fine Bo."

"What's going on in here?" Lauren smiled as she walked into the living room. "I thought that was your voice I heard big brother." Lauren made her way over to Jake and Bo.

"Oh nothing, just a little bonding time with your girlfriend." Jake stood and hugged Lauren. "You ready to go?"

"Yup." Lauren walked over to Bo and took her hand. "You ready babe?"

"Always." Bo kissed Lauren lovingly on the lips. "Let's go, your Mom is waiting downstairs."

Goody's Café…

Lauren, Bo, Jake and Alice sat in a booth together as they chit chatted over lunch. Lauren rested her hand on Bo's thigh while her mom told Bo stories about Lauren's childhood.

"Oh yes Bo, my darling daughter here used to set up all her stuffed animals and treat their ailments when she played doctor as a child. When Jake was in a good mood, he'd let her wrap him up in bandages." Alice chuckled. "Remember that time when you ran out of bandages so you cut up my white sheets?"

"How can I forget, I was grounded for a month." Lauren laughed. "I also had my allowance taken away until there was enough saved to buy new sheets."

"What I can't understand to this day, is why the hell did I get grounded with her? I didn't cut up any sheets." Jake huffed in mock annoyance. "I'm mean, shit little sister, I always got grounded with you."

"Oh Jake, you act like Lauren got grounded a lot." Alice turned her focus back to Bo. "Lauren rarely got into trouble, but when she did, Jake seemed to always be involved."

"Mom, I love ya, but that is such BS. Bo, I always got accused of being an accomplice, but it was always more like, I was guilty by association." Jake explained. "Do you think that's fair at all?" Jake asked Bo.

"I'm staying out of this one." Bo laughed. "I don't want my opinion to affect the bedroom."

"Bo!" Lauren covered her face in embarrassment. "I can't believe you said that in front of my mom."

Bo wrapped her arm around Lauren as she and Jake continued to laugh.

"Relax dear, it's not like I haven't already assumed that you to share a bed." Alice reached across and patted Lauren's hand as she too chuckled a bit.

"Still, you assuming is one thing, but my girlfriend blurting it out is another." Lauren shook her head.

"Hey, I'm sorry; I didn't mean to embarrass you." Bo said as she gave Lauren an apologetic look.

"You are too adorable sometimes." Lauren leaned in and pecked Bo on the lips. "I can't stay mad at you."

"You guys are sickening." Jake chuckled. "I hope I can keep my food down." Jake joked.

"Leave them alone, they're in love." Alice smiled at the couple across from her. "I am so happy you found each other."

"Thanks mom." Lauren returned her Mom's smile and leaned into Bo.

The rest of lunch went well as they continued to talk about everything from Lauren's first crush to Jake's stage dive at a Motley Crue concert. Bo sat back and absorbed all the stories that were told. At one point she found Lauren's hand under the table and held onto it the rest of the time they sat and talked, with a smile that never left her face.
