A/N: Thank you all for your reviews. I was a little worried that I didn't do the proposal justice. But your reviews tell me otherwise. Just to clarify, the Rock of Aphrodite does really exist off the coast of Cyprus; however, I did take liberties with the belief that if couples enter the water and kiss they will be blessed with eternal love. That was just something I made up for this story so the proposal would be more romantic. After all, this is a fictional piece.
And a big thanks to Rafi for the amazing artwork that was created for this fic. I am so blown away by your talent and creativity. Thank you for the shout out on twitter, because of that more people have discovered this story. I am humbled and honored that you took the time to do that, so thank you, thank you, thank you!
As always, Lost Girl characters belong to Lost Girl and its creators. I just borrowed them for this story.
Chapter 20
2 Weeks Later…
Lauren stretched her tired muscles and sighed heavily. She had been sitting at her desk catching up on her patients files for the last 3 hours and now her body was screaming at her to take a break. Lauren stood from her leather chair, kept her feet in place as she swiveled her upper body from side to side to help relieve the tension in her lower back. She glanced up at the clock as she brought her movements to a halt, 2:30, she had three and a half hours to go before she could leave the clinic and get home to her fiancée.
Lauren grinned from ear to ear as she thought about Bo. She held her hand up a little to look at the beautiful diamond Bo put on her finger. She bit her lip as she unconsciously ran the thumb of her right hand over the ring as she thought about the unbelievably romantic and meaningful way Bo proposed. If it were possible, she fell in love with Bo even more that day. Lauren was still trying to wrap her mind around how much things have changed since she left Nadia. She couldn't believe how lucky she was to have found Bo, to have fallen in love with Bo, and be engaged to the love of her life.
Lauren dropped back into her chair as she replayed in her mind the conversation she had with her Mother when she called her to tell her the good news:
Lauren and Bo were sitting with theirs backs against the headboard. Lauren had the phone on speaker as she held it in between them waiting for her Mother to pick up on her end.
"Hello Dear, are you enjoying your romantic getaway?" Alice's smile could be heard in her voice.
"We certainly are, I have you on speaker, and Bo is sitting here with me." Lauren grinned.
"Hello Bo, are you enjoying yourself?" Alice asked.
"Yes ma'am, very much so." Bo placed her hand on Lauren's upper thigh before leaning in to kiss her cheek.
"Well I'm glad to hear that. I hope you guys haven't forgotten to take pictures." Alice said.
"No Mom we didn't, we have plenty of pictures for you to see." Lauren responded.
"And whole bunch you can't." Bo mumbled as Lauren swatted her playfully on the leg.
"Listen, Mom, I have something to tell you." Lauren said her smile reaching her eyes.
"Did Bo knock you up?" Alice laughed.
"Mother!" Lauren said wide-eyed. "I can't believe you just said that." Lauren shook her head while Bo laughed at the comment.
"Oh Lauren, your Mother might be old, but she has never been a prude. Just being around you two for the few days we were in Toronto, it's obvious you can't keep your hands off each other. You know, your father and I were a lot like you two when we were young, always up for anything that involved us getting na-"
"Mother! Please I don't need to hear about you and Dad's sexcapades." Lauren interrupted before Alice could go any further.
"I don't know Babe; it might be interesting to hear." Bo smirked.
"Bo!"
"Relax dear; I was just having a little fun with you. But if you'd like to hear the stories Bo, I'd be more than happy to tell you the next time you call me." Alice laughed.
"Okay, we are way off subject now." Lauren sighed. "Can I please get to what I called to tell you?" Lauren asked.
"I'm sorry dear, go ahead and tell me." Alice chuckled.
"Mom… Bo asked me to marry her and I said yes! We're engaged!" Lauren said excitedly.
"Congratulations!" Alice's excitement came through loud and clear. "I am so very happy for the two of you!"
Lauren continued to smile as she remembered her Mom, Jake, Kenzi, and Trick all had similar reactions. Everyone was so happy for her and Bo. Lauren's heart fluttered in her chest as she thought about all the love and support they had received from their families. Kenzi right of way volunteered to be the wedding planner, which Bo and Lauren gladly accepted. Both of them were going to be quite busy, Bo with school and Lauren with helping cover Dr. Mora until she returned from maternity leave. Kenzi told them not to worry about anything, they just needed to set a budget and a date and she would handle all the rest.
Lauren picked up her phone and began going through the photos of their vacation. She giggled as she realized Bo was right, there were a ton of photos that her Mother, or anyone else for that matter could never see. Lauren became flush as she stopped to admire a photo of Bo sun bathing naked on their private balcony in Santorini. She remembered how she pounced on Bo after she had taken that photo. She clenched her thighs together to ease the ache between her legs. It had been 2 days since they had sex and after all the non-stop sex they had on vacation, 2 days felt like a month. Lauren was brought out of her thoughts when there was a knock on her door. She shoved her phone into her pocket before answering.
"Come in." Lauren sat up in her chair and waited for the door to open.
"Dr. Lewis, I hope I'm not bothering you?" Brian, the front desk clerk asked politely as he entered her office. Brian was a young college student working the day shift so he could attend classes at night. He was medium height, clean cut with neatly combed jet black hair. He had such a baby face, no one believed he was 22; he looked more like he was 15. He dressed in the latest fashion and popular designer clothing, down to the trendy socks everyone seemed to be wearing. He was a nice young man, hardworking and very organized. Lauren loved him.
"No, uh, not at all Brian, what's up?" Lauren smiled genuinely.
"Dr. Caravelle asked if you could stop by his office for a bit." Brian said.
"Sure, I'll head down in a minute." Lauren began to put her files away.
"Dr. Lewis, any word on when the intercom will be fixed? I hate disturbing you by knocking on your door every time you're needed." Brian smiled shyly.
"I believe the technician is coming out early next week. Hang in there; it's only a few more days." Lauren winked.
Brian nodded and left her office, closing the door softly behind him. Lauren stood to her feet and had just stepped around her desk when she felt her phone vibrating in her lab coat pocket. She reached for her phone and her heart skipped a beat as she seen Bo's name plastered across the screen. She licked her lips and answered the phone.
"What're you wearing?" Lauren said in a tone that always turned Bo on.
"Stop that or I'll have to come down there and take you on your desk… again." Bo drawled.
"Maybe that's the idea." Lauren bit her lip as she leaned against the front of her desk.
"Mmm… are we feeling a little frisky my love?" Bo asked, her voice dropping an octave.
"I think horny would be a more appropriate word… you wanna help me out with that?" Lauren grinned.
"I'll be there in 10." Bo purred.
"Can we make it 30? I have to go see Dr. Caravelle in a minute." Lauren smiled as she looked at the clock.
"I'll see you then doctor." Bo made sure to say that sentence as seductively as possible.
Lauren squeezed her thighs together as she ended the call. She took a calming breath and headed down to Dr. Caravelle's office.
By the time Lauren reached Dr. Caravelle's office the overwhelming throb between her legs had dulled in to a light pulse. She pushed all thoughts and mental pictures of a naked Bo out of her mind, adjusted her Lab coat, and knocked on his door.
"Come in." Dr. Caravelle called out.
Lauren reached for the handle and opened the door. "You wanted to see me?" Lauren asked as she stepped inside the office, immediately taking notice of a beautiful woman standing in front of Dr. Caravelle's desk.
The woman was tall, slender, and had black shoulder length hair with vibrant red highlights. She had greyish-green eyes that stood out against her dark hair and fair skin. Her make-up was applied flawlessly down to the dark lipstick that matched her red highlights. She was wearing an expensive looking tailored dark blue business suit with a skirt that stopped right above her knee, showing off her toned legs and Louis Vuitton high heels. Lauren could tell this woman had expensive taste and was probably high maintenance. She was definitely attractive, but Lauren couldn't help but think, Bo still had her beat in every way.
"Dr. Lewis, I'd like you to meet Katrina Adams, our new head of security." Dr. Caravelle smiled at Katrina as his phone rang. "I need to take this real quick, excuse me for a moment." Dr. Caravelle then stepped outside his office leaving the two ladies alone.
"It's nice to meet you." Lauren extended her hand to Katrina.
"The pleasure is all mine Dr. Lewis." Katrina said as she shook Lauren's hand.
"Oh, please, call me Lauren. I've been trying to get Dr. Caravelle to call me Lauren since we met, but he refuses." Lauren smiled and tried to draw back her hand, but Katrina held on as she gave Lauren a once over.
"Very well, Lauren it is." Katrina winked and gave Lauren's hand a little squeeze before releasing it, making her feel a little uncomfortable at the flirtatious gesture. "Nice ring by the way." Katrina said before taking a seat.
"Thank you, my fiancée designed it herself." Lauren made sure to emphasize the word fiancée as she took her seat. She wanted to draw the line and make it clear that she was unavailable just in case Katrina had other ideas.
"Well it's obvious she has great taste…" Katrina flashed Lauren a sexy grin. "That's, what… a 6 carat diamond, with a few more embedded around a platinum band?"
"Something like that." Lauren replied coyly.
"So, when's the big day?" Katrina asked as she crossed her legs and shifted slightly to look at Lauren.
"We haven't set a date, we just got engaged a couple of weeks ago. But we definitely want to get married within a year." Lauren grinned happily.
"Oh, well, congratulations on your engagement." Katrina smiled.
"Thank you." Lauren was a little puzzled by Katrina. She thought for sure Katrina was coming on to her, but now she wasn't so sure. Lauren decided to let it go, it didn't matter any way, she had Bo and she wouldn't trade her in for anyone. Before either woman could respond further, Dr. Caravelle re-entered the office.
"I'm sorry about that ladies, but when the wife calls you answer." Dr. Caravelle laughed. "Remember that Dr. Lewis and you'll make your life a whole lot easier." Dr. Caravelle winked.
"I'll keep that in mind." Lauren chuckled.
"Let's get back to business. Dr. Lewis, I asked you to stop by so you could meet our new head of security. With all the recent robberies at some of the local clinics and pharmacies in the area, I thought it would be best to ramp up our security. I never thought I'd see the day when thugs would raid medical facilities for prescription drugs." Dr. Caravelle shook his head. "Anyhow, Ms. Adams's security agency comes highly recommended; they are the best in the country." Dr. Caravelle boasted.
"Thank you, Dr. Caravelle. I should hire you as our PR representative." Katrina laughed.
"If you could do half of what you say you can, I will gladly spread the word to my colleagues." Dr. Caravelle said. "Can you fill Dr. Lewis in on some of the changes that will be taking place?"
"Certainly..." Katrina shifted in her chair once again to look at Lauren. "First off, I am going to be sending in my tech crew to start revamping the current network security. It took my hacker less than a minute to hack the current system during our test run. I will also be personally overseeing the facility's surveillance upgrades, which will include more cameras in certain areas. I will also be handpicking new guards. We will be making these changes primarily at night, this way my crew is not in your way."
"Sounds good, when will this all start to take place?" Lauren asked.
"Monday evening." Dr. Caravelle responded. "Dr. Lewis will be working the night shift next week, so if you need anything Ms. Adams please don't hesitate to ask her. I give full decision making authority to Dr. Lewis when I am not here."
"Perfect." Katrina smiled.
"Say, how about we all go to dinner tonight, get to know each other a little better, it will be my treat of course. I'll be bringing my wife, so Dr. Lewis invite Bo, and Katrina you can bring a guest also." Dr. Caravelle said excitedly.
"Sure, I'm available." Katrina said.
"I'll ask Bo, but I'm sure it will be fine." Lauren responded.
"Okay great, 8:00pm at my favorite steak house in Dundas Square. I'll text you ladies the address." Dr. Caravelle beamed.
"I look forward to it. If you'll both excuse me, I have some things to finish up before I leave for the day." Lauren stood to her feet and addressed Katrina. "It was nice meeting you; I'll see you both tonight." Just as Lauren left the office she felt her phone vibrate in her pocket.
Bo:Where R U? It's getting lonely in here.
Lauren smiled and bit her lip as she hurried to her office. She opened the door to find Bo leaning against the front of her desk in tight leather pants and a white low cut tank top. Her hair was up in a high ponytail showing off her delicious neck. Lauren closed the door behind her and locked it. She stalked towards Bo slowly, taking every inch of her beautiful figure.
"What took you so long Doctor?" Bo asked seductively.
"Dr. Caravelle wanted to introduce me to the new head of security…" Lauren approached Bo and placed her hands on her hips as Bo draped her arms, loosely around Lauren's neck. "She's… interesting."
"She?" Bo arched an eyebrow at Lauren. "Is she pretty?"
"Uh huh…" Lauren mumbled as she began to nibble on Bo's neck. "But she can't hold a candle to you, love." Lauren said as she stopped what she doing and looked into Bo's eyes.
"Good answer Dr. Lewis…" Bo smirked. "Now kiss me."
Lauren didn't need further instruction; she crashed her lips into Bo's as she pulled her even closer. They kissed passionately for a few minutes before Lauren broke the kiss and began kissing down Bo's neck. Lauren slipped her hands under Bo's shirt and made her way up to her bra. She pulled the bra up to release Bo's heavy breasts from there confines. She flicked Bo's nipples with her thumbs, much to Bo's delight, before taking command of Bo's lips. Lauren was so lost in the feeling of Bo's hardening nipples and the taste of Bo's mouth that she didn't realize that Bo had slipped her hand down her pants until she felt Bo's nimble fingers stroking her wet folds.
"Oh shiiit…" Lauren whispered into Bo's ear when she felt Bo enter her slowly. Lauren closed her eyes and buried her face in Bo's neck.
"You were so ready for me, weren't you baby?" Bo whispered as she continued her slow pace. "So wet…" Bo placed her free hand on the back of Lauren's neck and held her close. "I love having you wrapped around my fingers… so warm… so tight…"
"Fuck Bo…" Lauren panted as she rolled her hips in time with Bo's fingers. "You feel so good deep inside me… no one has ever touched me like you." Lauren bit her lip to try and stifle her moan. "Faster Bo, please… I need to cum."
Bo flipped them around so that Lauren was now pressed against the desk. Lauren undid the button and the zip on her slacks to give Bo more room to pump in and out of her before wrapping a leg around Bo's hip. Bo moved harder and faster inside of Lauren, her thumb rubbing her swollen clit over and over again. Lauren was on sensory overload at all the wonderful sensations she was experiencing. She closed her eyes and let herself fall into sweet abyss of her orgasm. Bo covered Lauren's mouth with her own to swallow up the loud moan that was trying to escape from Lauren's throat.
Lauren broke the kiss, rested her forehead on Bo's shoulder, and panted heavily. It took her a few minutes to regain control of her breathing and her legs. Bo held her close and peppered her head with kisses while rubbing her back in gentle circles.
"Wow, I think I saw stars there for a moment." Lauren chuckled.
"That good huh?" Bo giggled.
"With you, it's always that good." Lauren leaned in and kissed Bo's lips softly. "Can I ask you for a favor?"
"What kind of favor, if it's a sexual one, then yes!" Bo grinned mischievously.
"No, unfortunately it's not a sexual one." Lauren sighed and Bo pouted playfully. "Dr. Caravelle invited us to dinner tonight, kind of a get to know you thing with the new head of security, Katrina Adams. He's bringing his wife, and Ms. Adams will probably bring a guest as well… so… you want to go with me?" Lauren batted her eyelashes and grinned.
"I don't know… I was planning on catching up on Teen Mom tonight…" Bo slipped her arms around Lauren and pulled her even closer. "But you might be able to persuade me…"
"Hmm… I think I could do that…" Lauren pulled back a little, but just enough to pull Bo's tank top up so she could take one of Bo's breasts into her mouth. Lauren rolled her tongue around a hard nipple before tugging gently on it with her teeth. "How am I doing so far?" Lauren asked before she moved her attention to the previously neglected nipple.
"Mmm… that is definitely working…" Bo panted softly as she watched Lauren ravish her breasts. "Damn Babe, that feels so good."
Bo rocked her hips into Lauren, signaling where she needed her the most. Lauren unbuttoned Bo's leather pants and slipped her hand inside, she immediately moaned when she discovered Bo wasn't wearing panties. Bo shivered in anticipation of what was to come next. Lauren's fingers glided effortlessly into Bo's wet center, causing Bo to grip her shoulders tightly as she moaned. Lauren continued to ravish Bo's breasts as she rubbed the spongy spot inside of Bo over and over again.
"Fuuuck…" Bo hissed. "Lauren…" Bo's moaning was becoming louder with every stroke of Lauren's talented fingers.
"Shhh... Baby you're too loud, someone is going to hear us." Lauren chuckled.
"I-I… can't help it… you ohh… feel so fuckin' good…" Bo gasped. "So fuckin good…" A few minutes later, Bo covered her mouth just in time to muffle her scream as her orgasm hit, making her cum hard. Her body trembled involuntarily as the effects of her powerful orgasm washed through her.
When Bo finally relaxed and got her heart rate back to normal Lauren asked, "So, did my persuasion techniques work?"
"They sure did." Bo leaned in and kissed Lauren deep and slow, before pulling back to ask, "What time do I need to be ready?"
"By 7:30, he wants us to meet him at that expensive steakhouse in Dundas Square at 8:00." Lauren said as she continued to pepper Bo's neck with kisses.
"Oh, so I get to get all dolled up for you… be your arm candy?" Bo grinned and tilted her head so Lauren could have better access to her neck.
"You do know that you are so much more than arm candy." Lauren cupped Bo's cheek and looked deep into her eyes. "You're my better half…" Lauren smiled and leaned in, stopping just before making contact with Bo's lips. "My smoking hot, better half."
"You keep sweet talking me like that and I'm going to insist that you fuck me again." Bo closed the distance and took Lauren's lower lip between her teeth, giving it a little tug.
"That can definitely be arranged." Lauren smirked. She kissed Bo again; sliding her tongue into Bo's awaiting mouth as her hand made its way down the front of Bo's pants. She massaged Bo's clit in slow circles; she was just about to enter Bo when there was a knock on the door. Lauren stopped her ministrations and quickly removed her hand from Bo's pants, much to her dismay.
"You got to be kidding me." Bo sighed as she adjusted her clothes.
"Sorry Babe, give me a sec." Lauren buttoned her pants and opened the door, but just enough to see who it was and not enough to let the person on the other side see completely into her office. "Hey Brian, what's up?" Lauren smiled at her clerk.
"Sorry to bother you Dr. Lewis, but your four o'clock appointment is here." Brian said.
"Wow, I guess I lost track of time." Lauren glanced back at the clock, apparently her and Bo's fun time went on longer than she realized. "I'll be right there."
"Okay, I'll let him know." Brian smiled and walked away.
Lauren closed the door and gave Bo an apologetic smile. "Sorry baby, duty calls, I guess we'll have to continue with this later."
Bo stepped into Lauren's personal space and wrapped her arms around her. "Promise?"
"Cross my heart." Lauren crossed her heart and pecked Bo's lips.
"Okay…" Bo grinned. "What time should I expect you home?"
"I'm supposed to get off at six, but my four o'clock is my last appointment for the day. I think I'll head home afterwards so I can take my time to get ready… and maybe… convince you to shower with me?" Lauren smiled hopefully.
"Convincing me will not be necessary; I love it when we shower together." Bo kissed Lauren gently. "Walk me out?"
"Of course." Lauren took Bo by the hand and led her out of the office and out the front entrance of the clinic. They shared one more kiss before Bo left home and Lauren went back to work.
Steakhouse in Dundas Square…
Bo and Lauren entered the foyer of the restaurant. Bo had her hand tucked in the crook of Lauren's elbow as she led them to the Hosts podium.
"Have I told you how stunning you look this evening?" Lauren whispered into Bo's ear before placing a gentle kiss on her cheek.
Bo was wearing a form fitting, V-neck, light grey, pencil dress with 6 inch, peep toe high heels that complimented the dress perfectly. In true Bo fashion the dress showed off an ample amount of cleavage, as well as the rest of her perfect curves. Her hair hung in loose curls around her shoulders and her make-up was applied with expert precision.
"A few times…" Bo pulled away slightly to rake her eyes over Lauren. "And you, Dr. Lewis, aren't looking so bad yourself." Lauren was wearing a black, drape neck, sleeveless sheath dress that stopped right above her knee and complimented her figure perfectly. Her hair was pulled up into a style that showed off her exquisite neck and elegant dangling earrings.
Bo stepped back into Lauren's side, wrapped an arm around her waist, and whispered, "I can't wait to peel you out of that dress later," and then placed a lingering kiss under Lauren's ear.
Lauren shivered at the feel of Bo's lips on her skin. "You and me both," Lauren was about to lean in for another kiss, when the sound of someone clearing their throat caught her attention. She looked back to see Katrina smirking as the woman on her arm stood at her side with a look that could only be described as bored.
Katrina was dressed in a dark fitted pant suit that hugged her slender frame in all the right places. She wore a red blouse underneath that was cut dangerously low, and from what Lauren could tell another, pair of designer heels. The woman with her had long, wavy, bleach blonde hair, and was dressed in a barely there, red strapless dress with matching stilettos. She looked like a stripper or an escort of some kind.
"Dr. Lewis didn't take you for the kind of woman that was into PDA." Katrina teased.
"Well, we did just meet today, so there is a lot you don't know about me." Lauren smiled.
"Touché." Katrina bit her lip to hide her smile. "I look forward to getting to know you much better." Katrina said with an air of flirtation and a mischievous twinkle in her eye.
Bo quirked an eye brow and clenched her jaw as she watched Katrina openly flirt with her fiancée. She tightened her hold on Lauren and gave her hip a little squeeze; she took a calming breath and pushed her jealousy back into its box for the time being. She was not going to do or say anything that would embarrass Lauren, even though she wanted nothing more than to put this Katrina person in her place.
Lauren, sensing Bo's discomfort with what was going on, cleared her throat and introduced Bo.
"Katrina, I'd like you to meet the love of my life, my fiancée, Bo Dennis." Lauren looked at Bo adoringly for a moment before placing a kiss on Bo's cheek. "Bo this is Katrina Adams, the clinic's new head of security."
Bo extended her hand to Katrina, "Nice to meet you." Bo said with a tight smile.
"Likewise…" Katrina nodded as she shook Bo's hand. "This is my friend, Tonya Harper." Katrina said as she gestured toward Tonya. "Tonya, this is Dr. Lauren Lewis and her fiancée." Katrina continued to look at Lauren in a way that was making Bo's blood boil.
"Nice to meet you both." Tonya plastered a fake smile on her face before turning her attention over to Katrina. "Can we get a table now; I'm tired of standing here."
Before Katrina could respond, Dr. Caravelle approached the couples with his wife at his side. They greeted everyone and a few minutes later where ushered to their table. They all chatted with each other over appetizers and then dinner and were now enjoying a light conversation while they ate their desserts.
"Lauren your engagement ring is beautiful!" Dr. Caravelle's wife complemented enthusiastically.
"Thank you, Patrice. It's a one of a kind." Lauren's smile reached her eyes as she looked down at the ring and then back at Bo.
"Doug tells me you designed it, great job, it really is spectacular, Bo. It must have cost you an arm and a leg." Patrice said as she sipped her wine.
"The price tag doesn't matter, Lauren deserves the best of everything and I intend on spending the rest of my life making sure she has it." Bo stated with certainty. She reached for Lauren's hand and interlaced their fingers.
"I already have the best, I have you." Lauren leaned and kissed Bo thoroughly. Katrina rolled her eyes at the display of affection.
"Aww… you guys are so adorable." Patrice gushed.
"Enjoy it while it lasts." Katrina chuckled as she drained her scotch.
Bo glared at her for a moment and was on the verge of saying something when Patrice spoke up, "So when's the big day?"
"We haven't set a date yet." Lauren said as she smiled at Bo. "But we will soon."
"But definitely before the end of the year, we both want a winter wedding." Bo chimed in.
"Well you better set a date soon winter is just around the corner, and you know how long it takes to put a wedding together." Dr. Caravelle said in between bites of his dessert.
"So, Bo, what do you do?" Katrina asked as she leaned back in her chair.
"You mean besides Lauren?" Bo smirked and the table erupted into laughter, well everyone but Katrina.
"Bo! You did not just say that." Lauren chuckled.
"Sorry Babe." Bo kissed Lauren's cheek. "I'm a full time student at the moment, and I bartend at night at my grandfather's bar, The Dal Riatta."
"Oh, what are you studying?" Dr. Caravelle asked.
"Business, I'm about a year away from earning my Bachelor's Degree." Bo answered.
"Really, well good for you Bo." Dr. Caravelle praised. "What made you decide to go back to school?"
"Well, to be honest, I have thought about going back to school over the years but, always lacked the motivation to actually do it." Bo looked at Lauren with a big smile on her face, her dimple making an appearance. She gave Lauren's hand an affectionate squeeze as she continued. "Then the beautiful Lauren Lewis entered into my life. I fell in love with her and when I realized she was the one, I found my motivation to do better, to be better." Bo returned her attention to Dr. Caravelle. "I want to be a wife that Lauren and our future family can be proud of." Bo put her head down to hide the blush that found its way to her cheeks.
Lauren reached over and gently lifted Bo's chin to meet her eyes. She leaned in and gave Bo a soft lingering kiss before whispering against her lips, "I am already very proud of you, I love you."
"I love you too." Bo pecked Lauren's lips and pulled away with a grin.
"The field of Business is so broad; do you know what type of business you want to get into?" Katrina asked.
"The family business." Bo said vaguely.
She was never comfortable talking about her Father's business or the fact that he left it to her. The sizable trust that Bo had was due to smart investments and a successful advertising agency that had huge contracts with some of the top corporations in the world. Bo had yet to step foot into the office building in downtown Toronto, since her Father and Mother died in a car accident when she was a teenager. As of now, the agency was being run by her Father's right hand man and he had obviously been doing a great job because business was booming. Bo knew one day she'd have to step it up and fill her Father's footsteps, but she also knew she would not do that until she had the qualifications to do so.
"So you plan on running a bar for the rest of your life?" Katrina scoffed before cocking her head to the side and smirking. "Good thing you're getting a degree." She said sarcastically.
Lauren had had enough. She was not okay with someone blatantly disrespecting the woman she loved. "You know what-"
"It's okay babe." Bo interrupted, giving Lauren's hand a reassuring squeeze before responding to Katrina. "What I plan on doing once I get my degree is none of your concern. Not that it's any of your business, but my grandfather's bar was not the family business I was speaking of." Bo stated sternly.
"You're right; I apologize if I have offended you. I don't have a very good filter, I say what's on my mind and it tends to get me into trouble sometimes. It's comes in handy as a business owner, but it does put a damper on personal relationships." Katrina smiled condescendingly at Bo before looking at her watch. "It's getting late; I have to get Tonya home, so I'll bid you all a good evening. Thank you Dr. Caravelle." Katrina stood up and shook his hand before making her way over to Lauren. "Enjoy the rest of your evening; I look forward to working closely with you next week Dr. Lewis." She winked at Lauren and walked away with her date in tow.
Bo glared at Katrina as she walked away from the table. Just before Katrina exited the restaurant she glanced back and smirked at Bo. Bo clenched her jaw and stared her down until she was out of sight. The sound of Dr. Caravelle's voice broke her from her intense gaze.
"I'm sorry about that Bo; that woman is brash and a bit rude. But, she is the best at what she does and we unfortunately need her services." Dr. Caravelle said apologetically.
"No need to apologize, I understand." Bo smiled reassuringly. "I just hope for her sake she can keep her hands to herself." Bo glanced at Lauren.
"If you don't mind me asking, what family business were you speaking of Bo?" Patrice interjected.
"An advertising agency, my father left it to me when he passed away." Bo stated.
"Wait a minute; you're that Dennis, as in The Dennis McCorrigan Agency, Dennis?" Dr. Caravelle said wide eyed.
"Yes." Bo shifted in her seat. "I don't really talk about it, in fact besides, Lauren, my grandfather, and my best friend, and well, now you guys, no one really knows I'm that Dennis." Bo sighed. "My grandfather is Fitzpatrick McCorrigan, the McCorrigan in The Dennis McCorrigan Agency."
"Dennis's silent partner." Dr. Caravelle said.
"Yes, he lent my father the money in the beginning to help get the company off the ground. After my father paid him back, he decided to reinvest and become a silent partner, and he has stayed on board as a silent partner ever since. He's kept in the loop about what goes on in the agency; he's given the financial reports every quarter, but chooses to stay out of the day to day operations." Bo explained. "And being the only child and grandchild, I am the sole heir to The Dennis McCorrigan agency. No pressure though." Bo chuckled.
"Wow, that's amazing. Do you plan on taking over the day to day operation of the company?" Dr. Caravelle asked.
"Not anytime soon. My grandfather, Lauren, and I have discussed it in great lengths. We all agree that I should get my degree, and then do an internship to learn the business while earning my Masters. Eventually I would take over, but probably not for at least another 5 years or so. I'm really not in a rush." Bo said.
"Well good for you Bo. I'm sure you will do your family proud." Dr. Caravelle smiled. "And don't worry this conversation doesn't leave this table."
"Thank you, I really appreciate that." Bo smiled genuinely.
They chatted for a little bit more before saying their goodbyes and heading to their respective homes.
Clubhouse…
Bo was unusually quiet on the ride home and even now as she sat on the bed removing her shoes, she had yet to say a word. Lauren stood at the dresser removing her earrings as she observed Bo through the mirror. She decided not to push Bo to talk until she was ready, but now she was getting a little worried.
"You're awfully quiet." Lauren said as she turned and leaned against the dresser. Bo looked up and met Lauren's eyes. "Are you okay?" Lauren asked.
"I'm fine." Bo tried to give Lauren an 'I'm okay, really' smile but she didn't quite pull it off.
"I understand if you aren't ready to talk about it, but please don't lie and tell me you're fine, when I can clearly see you are not." Lauren folded her arms across her chest and looked at her toes.
Bo sighed heavily before walking over to Lauren. She placed her hands on the Doctor's hips and kissed her forehead. "You're right and I'm sorry." Bo reached for Lauren's hand and led her to the bed where they sat down together. "I just… I don't know how…" Bo looked up at the ceiling and let out a breath.
"Just tell me babe, what's the matter?" Lauren asked softly. "Are you angry with me?"
"No, god no baby, I'm not upset with you at all." Bo now felt bad that Lauren thought she was mad at her. She had no choice but to explain herself. "Lauren, I never want to do anything to hurt you, to trigger bad memories for you. But, seeing Katrina openly flirt with you and ogle you was really pissing me off. It took all my self-control to not choke her in a jealous rage." Bo stood up and began pacing. "I know the things Nadia did and said and how she embarrassed you…" Bo shook her head and ran her hand through her hair, unable to finish her train of thought because thinking about what Nadia had done to Lauren was making her more upset.
"Bo, honey, relax… come here." Lauren stood up and embraced Bo in hopes of calming her. They stood holding each other for a few minutes before Lauren led them back to the bed to sit. She took Bo's hand before she began. "Bo, you are nothing like Nadia, you could never be like Nadia and that is why I opened up and gave you my heart. That's why I fell in love with you, that's why I plan on marrying you and starting a family with you." Lauren smiled at Bo lovingly. "It's okay to get upset and feel jealous when someone is flirting with me like she was; it's a human emotion we can't avoid. Hell, I went off on a waitress for coming on to you in front of me." Lauren laughed.
"You sure did, and it was so hot too!" Bo chuckled.
"I do appreciate that you didn't jump across the table and choke the bitch in front of Dr. Caravelle and his wife. But I would never be embarrassed by you not putting up with someone being disrespectful to you or you making it clear that I'm yours." Lauren looked into Bo's eyes, making sure Bo knew she meant it.
"You always know the right thing to say, I love you." Bo captured Lauren's mouth in a heated kiss. Bo pulled Lauren to her feet and turned her around. She began to place sensual kisses down Lauren's neck. "Now if it's okay with you, I'd like to peel you out of that dress now." Bo whispered as she nipped Lauren's earlobe.
"It's more than okay." Lauren shivered as Bo slowly unzipped the dress and kissed down her bare back as it became exposed. She loved Bo with all her heart and soul and she would not jeopardize what they have for anyone. No amount of flirting or advances from another person would ever change that.
