Chapter 6

Laura looked at Lucian hoping that he had a plan and that it worked out. Tori looked over at Lucian to see what they should do. Lucian looked deep in thought for about thirty seconds before he spoke.

"Come, Laura. You and I are leaving now. We'll get Sonja and the rest of the Lycans will launch an attack at daybreak while we bring Sonja back here and then I will go off to fight and you will stay with Sonja. Is that understood," Lucian's voice was hard and pained but Laura understood why. Confident as he was about being successful, he knew there was still a large chance that they would fail and he would lose Sonja and maybe even her.

Laura sighed and tried to fight this off but said "Yes I understand, but why can't I fight? You taught me yourself you know that I'm capable." Was Lucian underestimating her ability to fight?

Lucian grabbed Laura's hand as she tried to go away and said ""I am already close to losing Sonja. Do not ask me to worry about losing my best friend as well. I won't do it. You will not have any part in this fight. At least that way, if I fail at saving Sonja, I'll still have you because if I do lose her, I'll need you to help me live. You and Sonja are all that matter to me. I love you very much, my dear Laurena. And I will not risk this. Now, is that understood," Lucian whispered harshly. Laura was stunned silent for a few seconds before nodding her head. She knew what she meant to Sonja but she didn't realize how much she meant to Lucian as well. "Good, now that we understand each other, grab your sword and anything else you'll need. We're going for Sonja now." Laura nodded again, gathered what she needed and then she and Lucian left the safety of their camp to rescue Sonja.

They almost left the clearing when Lucian yelled at Raze "If we're not back you lead the attack."

Raze bowed his head and went off with the others. Getting to the castle wasn't that hard climbing the walls and sneaking into the corridors was no trouble either. Laura and Lucian had trouble when they reached Sonya's chambers. The two guards at the door Lucian said "You take one and I take the other."

Laura nodded and stepped out the guards yelled but Lucian took the sword and took off the heads of one and Laura did the same with the other. Lucian opened the door and went inside. Laura stood watch at the door and gave the couple some privacy. They were taking awhile so Laura went to check on them only to find them making out. She groaned loudly in annoyance. But also felt sad she would never be with Lucian but she was not going to do anything about the couple they were happy.

Laura cleared he throat and said "I'm sorry that I am interrupting this lovely moment. But we should really get going. Victor probably knows where here."

Lucian looked up and saw concern in her eyes but also saw hurt. Lucian held Sonja in one hand and held out the other for Laura. Lucian looked around and saw no one and opened the man hole to the sewer and jumped in and Sonja and Laura followed. Lucian said "Were almost out of here."

But just as they reached one of the exits I heard the sounds of barrels falling down then fire. We kept on running for our lives but Laura saw no escape and there was only one left Lucian and Sonja looked at each other and knew what they had to do.

Lucian turned to Laura and said "Wait until me and Sonja are up and everything is clear."

Laura nodded but knew this one thing she could not do. Sonja jumped out first sword ready to fight fangs out. Then Lucian jumped up and she heard the swords going left and right. And finally Laura came up. The vampires surrounded her and she took vampires down left and right.

A vampire took her by surprise and Lucian took him down and got in front of her. Victor sneered and said "Look at that isn't that so sweet the noble dog protecting and rescuing the noble princess but also protecting the servant scum. Isn't that sweet Kraven?"

Kraven smiled his cold twisted smile and said "Yes, my lord, very sweet," he replied, sarcasm dripping from his tone, "and look, my beautiful bride is with them. It seems we're both getting what we want today." Kraven continued to smirk mockingly. Laura's blood went cold. She hadn't even seen Kraven since that night in the armory. The night, which he had forcefully made her the thing that she was; and had taken her human life away. Resentment and rage flowed from every pore in her body. She wanted nothing more than to rip Kraven's heart from his chest.

"Kraven," Laura growled dangerously. She hadn't dealt with the grief she had felt since that night and so it all came rushing back in a wave of anger and bloodlust. Even, after Sonja had helped her a little. And even Lucian had distracted her the first few days. But now she actually felt her eyes turn to ice. Lucian saw all the rage and pain stirring in her.

"Laura, calm down. Don't lose your grip on your emotions or you will get killed," Lucian whispered softly to her. But she couldn't stop it. The rage built until she couldn't take it anymore and the fight began. Lucian and Sonja took on Viktor and Laura took on Kraven. At the beginning of the fight, Kraven was pretty confident that he could win but he soon found himself struggling to keep Laura at bay. Finally, he knocked her down but she got right back up. This kept on happening a few more times and finally Kraven got frustrated and knocked her down with male power and vampire power and growled out "Stay down little slave girl or else," Laura could only smile and smirk at that. And she grinned and knocked him off her.

"Never," she said in a low, dangerous tone. She started striking at him wildly yet fluidly with her sword, slicing into his cheek and stabbing his shoulder, which made him drop. Laura, showing a small amount of mercy for the man who destroyed her, crouched down and got in his face.

She hissed out hands on his throat almost choking the vampire and acted like a wild Lycan and growled out "Run coward run before I catch up with you and when I do you won't be able to get away."

Pleased with the fear swimming in his eyes, she straightened and hurried to assist Lucian and Sonja. No sooner had she finished with Kraven did the guards arrive. The three of them held the guards off for a few minutes but it soon became overwhelming but by this time, Viktor had fled, leaving the fight to his soldiers.

Laura had run off half of the vampires and had turned back to help Sonja and Lucian. She saw that Sonja was being held hostage by her father and she was telling them she was pregnant and that Lucian was being held down by a group of guards.

Laura was about to rush to them when Raze turned to her and yelled out "Laurena run! Get out of here right now! And go get Raze and the others!" Laura shook her head she was not going to leave them here she was a fighter. Lucian snapped at her and growled out "Go to Raze and tell them that we've been captured. Laura go now!"

She nodded quickly and ran, quickly disposing of any guards that followed her. She soon found herself in the clearing again and ran frantically to find Raze. She found the giant lycan enjoying what could've been his last meal by the fire.

Raze saw the scared and disoriented look on her face and came up to her taking her hand and lying her down on the rock bed blanket and said "What is it Laura."

Laura took at deep breath and said "Raze, they've been captured! Lucian and Sonja, we have to go rescue them! Come on, hurry," she cried out and got up from where she had been sat down and she pulled Raze from his spot. Raze looked at her in surprise that she could pull him before remembering that the young girl was a vampire. He always forgot because she never acted anything like the monsters that enslaved him and his brothers.

Raze put a comforting hand on her and asked "Laura, what happened?" he asked in his deep voice once Laura was calmed down a bit.

"They caught us outside the tunnel and Lucian told me to come find you because he knew that was the only way to get out of there. Now come on, Raze, we need to go save them," she said, pulling on his arm. Despite the situation, he had to laugh at the tiny girl, dragging him all over camp.

Raze assembled all the Lycans and eventually the werewolves, William's kind, would join them. Laura smiled and remembered when Lucian had negotiated with them and got them to agree to fight. How he did it, Raze would never know but Laura just smirked and said to Raze that Lucian was not an ordinary lycan and Raze had to agree with that. They all gathered at the edge of the forest and awaited Raze and Laura's signal to attack. Or at least Laura hoped that was what was going to happen. Oh how wrong she was.
