Chapter 8

Laura heard as she reached the castle wall a howl and knew that Lucian has transformed or was in mid-transformation and yelled out "He's in there and in pain!"

Raze was about to say something when he hears the roar of wolves and the lycans fall back but Laura doesn't move even when Sabas says "My lady Laurena get behind us."

But Laura waved her hand and shook her head. The biggest wolf but not as big as Lucian came up to her and sniffed her and growled out that sounded like a warning to the other wolves to back off her. He bowled his mighty head and bent down as if for her to get on him.

Xristo smirked and told the others "The wolves will fight with us!" he then turned to Laura "He wants you to ride him."

Laura mounted the type of the wolf and just then Laura saw Lucian on top of the wall with an arrow lodged into him and he let out a cry and the wolves all charged onto of the wall. The lycans ran slowly and all changed fast and jumped onto of the wall as guards yelled out "LYCANS! WOLVES!"

Victor had a knife, a silver one ready in hand to kill Lucian but the wolf she was ridding was already over the wall. Laura jumped down and strikes Victor with her vampire-claws and knocks him down. She hisses at all the vampires "Stay away!"

All the guards were firing at the lycans but were outnumbered and killed off fast and easy. Victor she heard yelled out to Tannis "Retrieve the other elders! Don't worry about the scrolls!"

Tannis looked at us all and I shook my head as he ran off like a good little guard dog "No back bone!"

Laura then remembers Lucian and saw Raze helping free him. She ran over and helped out, Lucian turns to Raze "I'm fine my friend go help the others out!"

Raze looked torn but Laura reassured him "Go Raze I got him! Will join the fight later, we need all the help we can get!"

Raze turned into a lycan and ran for the dungeons, Laura took out the spikes and looks into his sad but slightly angry blue eyes "I'm so sorry Lucian what happened to Sonja, but we will get our revenge."

Lucian was losing blood but he didn't care, he took Laura's face in his hand and stared deeply into her olive green eyes and stroked her face "We will my sweet Laurena, I'm just glad nothing happened to you. Stay close to me and don't fight unless needed," Laura tried to protest but he stopped her "I know you want to fight but I couldn't live if something happened to you."

Laura nodded and Lucian helped her up grabbed a jacket off one of the guards and jumped down sword in hand and Laura hissed and bared her fangs at death dealers coming at them and grabbed a sword too and quickly bites them and cuts off their heads "That's for Sonja and my parents!"

Lucian looked at her at this part and Laura said "I'll tell you later about how I ended up here."

Lucian nodded and swung his sword and bared his lycan teeth at the vampires and knocked them all out and looked up at the tower and saw Victor and growled and rushed up the tower.

Laura flashed forward after him when she saw the lycans and wolves were doing just fine at the moment. Laura saw Raze was breaking all of the slaves out and started to transform. The lycans parted a path for her as she yelled out "Help the lycans in side," she pointed to one half lead by Sabas, "The rest of you go outside," she pointed to where Raze was going.

They nodded and she yelled out "I'm going with Lucian. Cover me."

The wolves nodded and attacked the guards Laura didn't get. She got to the end of the tunnel and saw Lucian fall through a hole and grabs the chains in the way, along with Victor.

On the way down to the ground Victor grabs his sword and had Lucian at sword point since the moon was disappearing and was losing his lycan strength. Laura screeched and jumped down sliding on the wall and ran head first into Victor "Leave him alone!"

She bit Victor and made a hole in the wall letting sunlight in she screeched along with Victor and Lucian yelled out "No! Laurena!"

Lucian grabs Laura and throws her softly into the darkness and then bits Victor and throws him head first into a wall by chains he was already week by the sunlight.

Laura still light headed and sick from the sun heard Victor yells out in cold blood "You defiled my daughter..."

"I loved her!"

Then Victor returned to make Lucian mad and weak "You killed her."

Lucian bared his lycan teeth and bit Victor and ripped some flesh off in the process and then creating more holes in the wall burning Victor up.

Lucian tied him up in chains and went over to grab the sword and quickly looked at Laura to make sure she was concealed into the darkness and lightly touched her burned face.

Lucian looked back at Victor as Victor said "I should have crushed you under my heel the day you were born."

Lucian cooks his head to the side and lifts his sword and answered back "You you should have," then he rams the sword through Victor's throat as Victor gasped and gurgles blood gushing out, "But you didn't."

Lucian leaves him there for a moment and quickly went to Laura and touches her face with his bloody hands and helps her up "It is done Laura you safe look," he helps her walk over to Victor to show her he is dead. He then throws him down into the water chains and all "He won't bother you anymore. Come my sweet Laurena."

Laura leans into him "I'm sorry I went against you, but I had to help you."

Lucian nodded "It is alright my sweet Laura you're fine just a little burnt but I'll get blood for you and some cream to help."

They slowly walked to an edge were they first escaped. Lucian being very careful not to put Laura in direct sunlight more than needed.

Laura peeks over Lucian shoulder to see that the lycans were on the ground celebrating the victory and the wolves were all over the castle walls making themselves at home howling that the vampires had fled the land.

Sabas nudged Raze to look up. Raze stood up looking at Laura behind Lucian and then Lucian and said "Lucian, it is finished!"

Lucian didn't answer right away and reached into his trench coat pocket and Laura saw that it was Sonja's family necklace. Laura felt Lucian wrap his arms around Laura putting his face on top of her head and whispered out "No, this is just the beginning."

Laura saw in his deep blue eyes that he was telling the truth, it would never end but Lucian and the lycans and she were going to try.
