Chapter 8: Coincidence

Sorry for the late update! I've been very busy with school… Anyway, I hope you all shall like this adventure.

Taylor sat on one of the chairs that stood at the end of the long dining table, she threw her gaze out of the window and rested her head on one of her hands whilst leaning her elbow on the table. "Maybe you should do something different, other than cleaning, reading and staring out of the window dearie." Taylor looked up and saw that Rumple was standing next to her, he put his hand on her right shoulder.

"Maybe." she smiled kindly at him and moved her head down to the table, she stared blankly at the wood of the table.

"Do you see that longbow there on the wall? Take that, and take a walk in the woods, if you promise me to stay close to the castle."

Taylor was close to giving him a big hug "I promise Rum!"

He gave her a kiss on her forehead and walked up the grand stairs that lead to the library.

Taylor pulled on some dark brown, tight pants. She found a dark red top and a light brown leather jacket in the closet that stood in her room, as well as a pair of brown boots and a black scarf. She quickly made a French braid and let the braid fall over her left shoulder .

She walked to the bow and grabbed it, the last time when she had touched a longbow was when her father taught her to shoot, she was twelve years old. Belle never wanted to do anything with a bow, it was a weapon and weapons were bad in her opinion. But Taylor loved it, along with her father, she ran through the woods while shooting at the trees. It was like riding a horse, something she would never forget. She hoped she could still shoot that good.

Taylor walked out of the large wooden double door and quietly closed it. Rumple stayed home as she walked away from the castle. The pebbles crunched under her boots as she walked, without thinking, she walked into the woods. She didn't even know how far she was from the castle.

She pulled an arrow from the bag and flexed her bow, focused on the tree . Out of nowhere, she heard something, a rustle from afar. She didn't move and focused on the sound, when she heard it coming closer she climbed into a high tree. A girl ran quickly, past the tree she sat in, not even a few seconds later. Taylor could see her from above. Her hair was long and dark brown, the little curls she had were stuck in a braid. The long braid swung behind the girl and Taylor could just see that she held a small bag in her left hand. Just when Taylor wanted to climb down, a man sprinted past, Taylor rubbed her eyes . Did she see it right? It was the man who called himself Hook. Killian, that was his name. She climbed out of the tree as soon as possible, and ran after him. The autumn leaves flying in all directions while Taylor quickly moved forward over the leaves.

"Killian!" She screamed his name through the forest and could heard its echo. "Killian wait!"

The man looked back while he was running, and after he looked back another time he stopped. His eyes were wide with anger and relief at the same time.

"What a surprise, Taylor French Alingswood. I thought we would meet by accident?" He tried to be tough, but Taylor saw in his eyes that he didn't succeed. He was out of breath and staggered a little.

"Woah, wait." Taylor placed an arm around his side and gestured for him to sit. Together they fell to the ground and sat down on a tree trunk.

"That girl, I need to find her." Killian threw his gaze to the ground and without Taylor realising it, her arm was still wrapped around his back.

"That bag is yours, isn't it? What's in the bag?" Taylor bent forward slightly and glanced at Killian who still sat beside her.

"Yes it's mine and it's none of your business what's inside." Killian got up and walked towards the direction to which the girl with the long brown braid ran deeper into the woods.

"Good, then I won't help you, even though we ran into each other by accident. I think we talked about that earlier dear Killian." Taylor thought of their meeting, which is when she said she would talk to him when she " accidentally " would meet him again.

He turned "So you knew we would see each other once again?" He gave her a playful grin.

"Yeah, uh, no... This was an actual accident." Taylor looked uncomfortably at the ground, the leaves around them had been blown away and the ground was littered with footprints.

He smiled at her "Okay, so if you want to know what's in that bag you must help me to get that thing back."

Taylor walked up to him and took his hand without thinking about it too much. "Promise." she said with a laugh.

Killian glanced at the two hands that touched each other and smiled. Together they walked further into the woods, looking for the girl.
