Chapter 9

Laura had to stay inside the castle till the sun went down, so she along with a lot of her lycan brothers surveyed the castle for anything valuable. Gold and silver that were left,were packed up to sell.

All the lycans had agreed that whatever was valuable they would sell or keep bargaining to get places.

The moon was full and full of song and laughter as the wolves celebrated their victory. Laura spotted Raze and yelled out "Hello Raze."

Raze turned and smiled his white shiny sharp teeth "Hello miss Laurena, are you celebrating down in the throne room with the others. We are on the move tomorrow so Lucian says, so you better get your fill here."

Laura nodded and smiled at Raze "Thank you for all your help to me and Lucian we really appreciate what you have given up to us and our kind."

"It's nothing Miss Laura, you and Lucian have given me a new life and a pack. We stick together."

Laura smiled at that, she finally had a family and a home. But Laura was still sad because she was a vampire and didn't really fit in, they could go out in the sun and at night and Laura could only go out at night. That choice was taken from her.

Raze saw that Laura was breaking down and pulled her through the hallways and into Sonya's old bedroom and yelled out "Lucian!"

Lucian was in the back where Sonja and he used to spend time together away from her father and praying eyes.

Lucian saw the state Laura was in and rushed and picked her up and laid her on the bed. Lucian nodded to Raze and said "Take watch of the fort and the other lycans."

Raze nodded "She was fine until I said she was one of us and we were her family...Lucian..."

"Its fine my friend, she has been through a lot."

Raze left and smiled at his friend, Laura would help Lucian through his lost with Sonja and find a way to help the lycans out of their situation.

Lucian put his arms around Laura and shushed her "Hush dear Laurena, tell me what happened?"

Laura sighed and calmed down as Lucian shushed her "I just thought of my family and how I ended up here. And when Raze said I'm part of the pack and you care about me it made me think. I'm not like you Lucian I'm not a lycan."

Lucian glared at that thought "Now don't think like that dear Laura, you don't need to turn into one of us to be part of the pack. Everyone considers you an alpha like me. Together we will free all of the lycans and take down our masters and truly be free."

Laura smiled at that and said "I know Lucian, I know. But I can't see the sun or go out in the day. It will be hard on us all."

Lucian looked at Sonja's necklace and back at her "A thought has been going through my head, when Sonja told me she was pregnant I thought not just that we created life but that our son or daughter would be a hybrid."

Laura looked up at that information "You don't think..."

Lucian smiled at that thought "That there is a way to make you a hybrid. Yes, I think that there is a way for you to walk in the sun with me."

Laura looked hopeful "But...How are we going to do this?"

Lucian helped her up and they walked through the hallways to the throne room and spoke up "You know the legend of how werewolves and vampires are created by the Corvinus line. Well legend tells of the third brother born human...the line still exist we find him we may be able to create a hybrid."

Laura looked hopeful "If that's true then we need to find out."

Lucian pulled her close and nuzzled her neck "I would do anything for you, you're my friend and more than that. Without you I don't know what I would do."

Laura and Lucian walked into the throne room and looked at all the lycans gathered together food plenty and bags full of gold and valuables to trade. Raze nodded at them both.

Sabas looked up from his food and said "Lucian everyone's ready for the move tomorrow," then he smiled at Laura and turned back to Lucian, "What about..."

Lucian put his arms protective around Laura "Let me worry about her. Soon Laura won't have to worry about the sun."

Sabas and Xristo looked back and forth and said "You're talking about the legend."

Lucian nodded "Sonja said this may be true if so I will search the end of the earth to find a way to save Laura and our race."

Both nodded and continued with their mill. Laura smiled at Lucian "I want to tell you how I ended up here."

Lucian smiled sadly "You don't have too."

Laura nodded "I want to."

All the wolves turned "Everyone can hear how I ended up here and why I hate vampires so much."
