"Two beers, please." Taylor walked from the bar to the table where Killian sat, he looked at her with a smile.
"Here you go." She said with a small wink.
He took his first sip and set the glass back on the wooden table, there was an awkward silence after what happened on their way towards the village. Taylor didn't know what to say, she had never expected that kiss.
"Tell me."
Taylor looked at Killian, confused, 'tell me?' What did she had to tell him? She didn't answer until Killian continued.
"Tell me how you came to stay with Rumplestilskin." he said.
"Everyone knows that story anyway? I ran away and he offered me a deal, as he does with everyone. I can't tell it anymore simply." she took a sip while she waited for an answer.
"Yes, everyone knows the easy version of this story, but no one knows how it actually happened." Killian laughed a little "Nobody knows why you ran away, and even more specifically, why you went along with Rumplestilskin." he was leaning with one arm on the table and looked sharply at her, she felt compelled to tell him.
Taylor sighed, "After Belle had left the castle, my father always made me believe that she was ungrateful and ran away, even though I knew there was more to it. After a while I couldn't handle it anymore, he could only talk about Belle being crazy and it was like I wasn't even important anymore. So in the middle of one night, I ran away. Soon after, I realized that not only my father was looking for me but also our dear queen. Rumple offered me a deal, he said he would protect me if I kept my end of the deal. That was the only way out, for a girl who lost everything in a few minutes."
She looked at her glass, the foam of the beer was gone. She took another sip "And you, why don't you come into Rumples neighbourhood?" she asked, looking up at him.
"Long story love, I think I'll save that for another time. When and if you're ready." he winked at her and emptied his glass.
Taylor thought about him. Why he was being so weird and why wouldn't he tell his life story. Well, his nickname wasn't Captain Hook for nothing.
After they left the bar they quickly paid a visit to the bakery to pick up the bread as Taylor had promised to Rumple she retrieve him some. Killian walked back with Taylor to Rumples castle taking a route that Taylor had never walked.
"Where are we?" she asked Killian.
"On the east side of the forest, a different route, for once." He stopped walking and came to stand in front of her "Can you keep a secret?" He paused before receiving a nod from Taylor, "I care about you and I want you to never give up. Promise me you will never do that."
Taylor looked at him quizzically, "Why are you asking me this, and why are we here?" she took a step back.
"Stop asking questions, just give me an answer."
"I don't answer questions without knowing why you ask me!" Taylor took another step backwards.
Killian grinned, "Well then, I'll ask again later."
Taylor walked back, a little further away from Killian, she thought he was acting very weirdly. She didn't know why they were here, why he asked that question, and even more importantly, what he wanted from her.
"I know the way back from here, I'd like to walk alone." And before Killian could even give her an answer, Taylor was already continuing her way back home.
"Taylor wait!" he shouted after her, "See you soon?" he asked, standing still.
"You shall see me around." She replied as she gave him a wink.
She began to run, the castle was not far from here. She had been gone longer than necessary and Rumple wouldn't be happy with that.
She opened the double front door and hung up her cloak on one of the many chairs around the table. When she entered the light of the great hall she was startled. Broken glass lied on the floor and the mirror in the corner was in shards. Cabinets were toppled over and the crockery was scattered across the hall.
"Rumple? Rumple?!" Taylor yelled shocked by the room. Rumple ran down from the grand stairs, that lead to the library.
"Taylor you have to go, they are looking for you. Regina's army was here when we were both gone today." Rumple put both hands on Taylors shoulders.
Taylor had dropped the basket of bread and began to cry "I ... I can't leave, I can't live without you. Please, Rumple." she held tightly to him and rested her head against his chest.
"Please Taylor, if you don't want to go for yourself... then do it for me. There's no time, go!" he gave her a kiss on her forehead and pressed a translucent white stone in her hand." Don't lose this, it shows you the safest directions to go." he put it in a velvet pouch and closed it with his hands, in her hands "Now go."
She grabbed her cloak and ran out the door crying as it began to rain. She ran through the forest, and the further she walked, the wetter the became from the little raindrops that fell out of the sky. She almost couldn't breathe because of running and crying at the same time. The beginning of the battle had begun, she's having to give up so much. Taylor let herself fall into a cave at the foot of a mountain, situated at the edge of the forest. After a while and without too much trouble she closed her eyes and the tears were stopped from rolling from her cheeks.
