Chapter 14

Laura woke up to see she was in some sort of storage unit/hospital/home. She heard voices and recognized them as Selene and Michael. "You can't keep me here, I have a life to go back too...I'm not part of this...I don't believe that I am turning into a lycan."

"Michael I have to keep you here for your own good, if the other lycans find you...they will go through with their plan...and if my kind finds you...you'll die."

With that Laura heard the door close. Michael banged on the door and yelled out "Selene!"

Laura sighed and got up and said "Michael it's no use, you need to stay here for now...I'll find a way to get you away...the lycans don't want to hurt you...they need your help."

Michael slowly turned and Laura saw that his eyes had the gold tent of a lycan when they got mad. She slowly put her hands up and said "I'm a friend who wants to help you."

Michael nodded "If you want to help me get me out."

"I will but I need to first find out what Selene is up to...just hang out around here...nothing is going to get you," Michael nodded and stopped banging at the door, "Yet," Laura said under her breath.

With that Laura tried to open the door and found that she could, she knew the locks were like the ones when she was mortal and a slave. Sonja had showed her how to get out of here. Laura opened the door and before she left she turned to Michael and said "I will be back so will Selene...I know this."

Laura quickly found a car and drove the route that leads her back to the coven's hideaway. The vampires opened the gate to the mansion without question because she was one of them. Laura smiled and parked the stolen car; the car will never be traced back to her.

Laura quickly found Selene and saw that she was once again yelling at Kraven, and she saw that Selene was suspicious of Kraven. "I know you know that Lucian is alive and what is going on with the lycans!"

Kraven didn't respond and walked away. Selene saw me and glared before walking off to one of the bathrooms and stood in front of the mirror which opened to a secret passage.

Selene turned to me "If you're going to follow me around you need to at least help me, I'm going to break the rules since no one believes me about Lucian and the lycans."

Laura nodded and followed to a room that she recognized as the resting place for the leaders of the vampire coven. "It's true."

Selene walked to one of the resting chambers below and bit her wrist letting the blood drip out and said "I know that's it's not your turn to wake and I'm breaking the ancient law, but I need your help, Kraven is breaking the laws and the lycans are planning something that will break the vampire coven."

"Please we need your help now than ever Viktor," Selene said and finished and with that left the room.

Laura was rooted in her spot and was left gasping, it was true Viktor was alive and well...she needed to get out of here. Viktor would surly kill her on the spot for being a traitor and would use her as bait for Lucian.

Laura ran and left. When she turned to corner and saw all the vampires gathered around and they saw that the chamber door was opened and yelled for Kraven "Someone has awoken Viktor...they broke the cycle!"

Kraven ran to the chamber and she heard the conversation from her hiding spot. And oh Viktor had no idea that he was not supposed to be wakened yet.

Viktor said "You know why I have been awakened, servant?"

Laura rolled her eyes same old Viktor. Kraven she heard had a docile voice for the first time in his life "No, my lord, but I will soon find out."

Viktor said real hard "You mean - when you find her? "

"Yes, my lord. "

Viktor said "You must let her come to me. We have much to discuss, Selene and me. She has shown me a great many disturbing things. Things that will be *dealt* with soon enough. This covern has grown weak, decadent. Perhaps I should have left someone else in charge of my affairs. Still, her memories are chaotic. There is no sense of time. "

"Please, my lord, let me summon assistance. You are in need of rest," Kraven said trying to get him off this subject. Laura laughed oh he is hiding something.

"I have rested enough. What you will do is summon Marcus."

Oh god, Laura felt real bad for Selene, now was the time for her to leave.

"But he still slumbers, my lord. Amelia and the council members are arriving tomorrow night to awaken Marcus - not you, my lord. You have been awakened a full century ahead of schedule," said Kraven.

With that Laura heard "Send in Selene now!"

Laura snuck out at that when Kraven ran and found Selene and escorted her to Viktor. Soon she would tell Selene what she knew about who Viktor was and what she suspected happened to her.

Laura grabbed her stolen car and drove off just as she saw and felt that Viktor would side with Kraven's side of the story, and that Viktor will charge Selene to acquiesce to the vampire hierarchy.

Laura had a sad smile, but also felt happy she could get Michael away so that she could bring him in for Lucian and they could finally free all of the lycans with his help.
