Hey everyone! I just wanted to mention that I post my chapters unmarked from now on. My best friend always corrects them to make the English grammar perfect, as she's from England. But she is really busy with her school. I'm trying to do my best, so I'm sorry if my grammar isn't perfect! Enjoy the coming chapters.
Chapter 19: It's just fiction
Weeks had gone by. Taylor enjoyed her work as the mayor's assistant so far. She mostly needed to keep an eye on Henry though. Taking him out to Granny's, helping him with homework… It wasn't anything special but hey, what would be special in Storybrooke? Only Emma's arriving was special and surprising at the same time. Not actually the arriving, but the fact that she stayed. She stayed for Henry. Taylor wasn't allowed to handover Henry to Emma, but she did a few times. She felt it was really important for the both of them.
"Good morning Miss. Mayor." Taylor said walking into the mayor's office. Taylor's dark velvet red heels clicked on the floor. She had paired it with a pair of sheer tights, a dark green coloured skater skirt and a white lace blouse. Her soft curled hair was pinned up in a half up hairstyle.
"Good morning Taylor, you're just on time. This is Mr. Gold." The mayor said with a little smirk.
Mr. Gold turned to Taylor when he heard her name, he seemed a bit shocked. "Taylor… What a lovely name." he briefly paused as his hands were shaking as hell "Excuse me." And gone he was.
Mayor Mills smirked, seeing Mr. Gold's eyes widen. Taylor, of course he knew who she was. But Taylor couldn't remember him, she couldn't even remember that the Evil Queen herself was standing in front of the young lady, Miss. Allingswood.
"So, I made up my mind. I handed Henry over to Emma, it's Saturday anyway. You can help me in the office."
"Yes Miss. Mills…" she said hesitating if she would ask it "Who is Emma if I may ask?" okay she did it, shit.
"You know she's my son's birthmother don't you?"
Taylor nodded, holding a few books.
"Let's say I want to keep my son for myself, she gave him up and I adopted him."
"I understand… Shall I bring those books to the shelves?" Taylor asked her boss.
"Well they actually need to be placed in the Pawn Shop. It's Mr. Gold's."
"I know, shall I bring them to him?" Taylor offered.
The mayor smirked, she enjoyed Mr. Gold's pain so of course she would accept her offer "That would be good young lady, and check on Henry and Emma please. I don't want him to do anything he isn't allowed to."
She nodded and walked out of the building, grabbing her cream coloured coat.
"Hello? Is anyone here?"
The Pawnshop was empty, there was no one inside. Taylor walked over to the counter and laid down the books. And just when she was planning to walk away, Mr. Gold came out of another room.
"Taylor, what a pleasure." He said faking his smile.
"Oh Mr. Gold, hi. Mayor Mills asked me to drop those books here, so I laid them on the counter if that's alright…"
"Of course, yes. That's fine." He said moving towards the books, he really didn't dare to look at her. She looked so different in those sophisticated clothes.
"Oh I haven't even got the chance to introduce myself fully." She reached out her hand "Taylor Allings…"
She got interrupted "Allingswood, yes. I know who you are dearie." And then he mentioned her silver necklace. There was a heart hanging on it. It was the necklace he gave her once, a long time ago. He felt frozen. He wanted to hug the young girl so badly, but he couldn't. Taylor wouldn't remember him. So he had to win her trust, if they would be locked up in this town forever.
"Oh, well…" she didn't know how to react "I should better go further, the mayor asked me to do a few more things and I don't want to disappoint her." Taylor walked over to the door and turned around "Nice to meet you Mr. Gold." She said smiling at him.
"It was a pleasure Miss. Allingswood." How he hated to say that, he almost called her Miss. French. But that name didn't exist in here.
Taylor walked over to the police station were Emma worked, Henry would be there with her.
"Hi Taylor! I've had such an amazing day, my mom and I went out for some hot coco at Granny's. But don't tell my other mom, I mean Regina… the mayor, you know what I mean. She'll freak out if she knew I had chocolate instead of her red apples."
Taylor chuckled "I won't say a word Henry." She said waiting for the kid.
"Thank Regina for giving me this day with him. Or… Better don't do it." Emma said to Taylor.
"Miss Swan…"
"Call me Emma."
"Okay, Emma. Has he talked about this fairytale book?"
"He mentioned it a few times, he says I'm supposed to break a curse. But I guess it's just his imagination." Emma said giving her son a hug "See you soon kid!"
"Bye Emma!" and Taylor walked out with Henry, towards home.
"So, you've had a lovely day Henry?"
"Yes, I really don't wanna go home Taylor… I just lock myself up in my room again."
"Don't do that, your mom… Regina wants to spend some time with you too."
"I guess so, but I don't want to. She'll always be the Evil Queen. But how was your day?" He said hooking on his storybook.
"I helped your mom with some paperwork and had to bring some books to the Pawn Shop. Nothing really special."
"Wait, you've been to the Pawn Shop? Where Mr. Gold is?" Henry had stopped walking and wanted Taylor to answer his question.
"Yes I have, I've met him. He seems okay, a bit creepy maybe with that shop."
"He is Rumplestilskin, Taylor! He's meant to be your dad. Well actually not your real dad but we just keep it on your dad."
"Is that what your storybook says Henry?"
"Yes… So what? It's true. You need to keep in touch with him, he misses you a lot."
"And what kind of fairytale character would I be then?" Taylor chuckled
"Belle's sister. You know, from Beauty and the Beast."
"But Belle doesn't even have a sister in the story?"
"She has in here! And this is real, the movies you've watched are just fictional."
"I've actually read the book…"
"See! Belle and you love books." He walked over to his door as Regina opened it. "It's a sign Taylor! Believe me!" he yelled as he ran past his mother, straight upstairs to his room.
Taylor still stood on the pavement. She waved at the mayor who gently waved back, she was a bit confused but she didn't ask Taylor. The young girl walked home, all blown away by Henry's stories. And then the fact about Mr. Gold. But Henry's stories were just as the books and movies, fiction.
