Chapter 22

Michael drove as fast as he could to the location that Macaro is at before Marcus could arrive and get the location for his brother and kill Marcaro. "Are you sure we can trust Tanis, he is no that reliable?" said Michael.

Laura turned towards Michael and Selene and put a comforting hand on them both "He did help me and Lucian out, we just trust him enough...Selene you were the one to suggest going to him."

Selene sighed "I did, but I'm desperate for answers and he is the one that has no loyalty's and will give you the answers you seek."

After that discussion it went all quiet, Lucian knew that something was up, Laura was not speaking. And was not talking to Lucian about what had happened to her, he knew it was another vision of something that was going to happen. Lucian just had to be patient was his love; she would come out with her problem to him eventual.

Laura just snuggled close to Lucian, she didn't know if this would be there last moment together or not. Every moment was the last for them "Everything will be alright my love...then we can return to our pack."

The car suddenly stopped and Selene turned around "Now you know the plan, we have no idea what we are going to walk into...we defend each other."

Laura took Selene's hand "Of course we do," Laura knew that this would never be her oldest friend Sonja, but Selene was close enough and they seemed to share the same soul sort of, and that was enough for them to become sort of friends...she would never betray Selene's trust in her.

Selene grabbed a gun and handed one to Michael, and then turned to Lucian and Laura "You may not need this, but keep it on you...we need to work together, "she said this turning to Lucian who still didn't really trust Selene and Michael, "We need to trust each other...we need to stop this war once and for all."

Lucian nodding grabbing hold of Laura hand as Selene did the same to Michael. Just as they arrived to the building they got ambushed by guards. Lucian growled and transformed on the spot why Michael did the same. The guards were knocked out and Laura and Selene made their way to the main office and pulled their guns out at Marcaro.

Selene got right down to business but when they saw who it was, she was shocked and whispered out "You're Alexander Corvinus..."

Alexander Corvinus said with hatred in his eyes "There was a time when I was known by that name... by any name, I am still your forefather."

Selene lowered her gun but kept her eyes on Corvinus, she wouldn't let her guard down no matter what. Laura growled out "So you're still alive and you let your sons run around and try to start a war!"

Laura wouldn't hold her tongue around no one; Lucian had learned this when she would get into fights and defend herself when he would go meet with other lycan clans; not even her elders as Corvinus was.

Corvinus got up and stalked over to Laura and ran her into a wall holding her by the neck "You hold your tongue little girl, you're not as old as me, I don't care how long you've been a vampire...respect your elders."

Selene hissed at Laura "Laura..."

Laura sighed and backed down after that, just then guards stalked in and dropped in the room Michael and Lucian and bowled to Alexander Corvinus and left the room. "Now why is it that you are here today?"

Selene was the one to take the lead, Michael stood by her side and guarded her "We need your help, your sons have been reeking habit on not only the vampires but the mortals also...we need to know how to get rid of the issues."

Alexander Corvinus looked mad at this but also tired "For centuries I've stood back and watched the havoc my sons have wrought on each other, and on humanity - not the legacy I prayed for the morning I watched them enter this world... And it's been a tiresome duty - keeping the war contained, cleaning up the mess, hiding my family's unfortunate history."

Michael stood up and said "Couldn't you have stopped it?"

Selene yelled out "Yes!"

Corvinus looked Selene dead in the eyes but also glanced over at Laura who was trying to not make herself known again because if she did she would snap at this man and ruin the whole thing for Selene. "Could you kill your own sons?"

Selene had enough of this "You know what Marcus will do! If he finds me, he finds William's prison! You have to help us stop him!"

Alexander Corvinus had enough also and looked at all of them "You are asking me to help you kill my son! YOU! a Death Dealer? How many innocents have YOU slain in your six-century quest to avenge your family? Spare me your self-righteous declarations! You are no different from Marcus and even less noble than William - at least HE cannot control his savagery!"

Selene said as calm as she could but not sounding at all calm "Everything I've done can be laid at YOUR feet - hundreds of thousands have died because of your inability to accept that your sons are monsters, that they CREATE monsters!"

"I will not help you! Now you have to fix this problem and all of the covens problems by yourself...looks like you got your own army to help you...now get out!"

Laura had enough "You know what I had it with all of this high and mighty family! These are your sons, you are there parent! You need to ring them in and get this all in control, because we all have to live in this world! I have had it with all of these vampires! I and Lucian are just trying to bring us lycans to freedom, and then this happens! So help us or I will drag you down with us!"

Lucian dragged me away from Alexander Corvinus as he got into my face "I have heard of you Lady Laurena as the lycans call you. You're the traitor of the vampires, who helped the lycans escape and killed Victor with Selene and Lucian. You were the one who didn't turn in Sonja when she was sleeping with that lycan over there. You're the one who created the idea of hybrids...I have the right to kill every one of you today, but I'm giving to chance to leave my presence at one."

Laura was fuming at that, but Michael and Lucian held her back, Selene said one last thing "You need to accept that this is your fault you started this, now you need to end this."

But before anyone could say anything or leave there was a crash and screams, and standing before them was Marcus Corvinus.

Sorry that it has been so long since I have updated, I had to think a lot about the direction that I'm heading in with this story. Plus I have just started college so I'm focused on that too.
