A/N: You guys blow me away, seriously! I love you all for reviewing, it keeps me excited and makes me want to write like crazy for all of you. I'm constantly checking my email looking for a little booster to get through my day :) So this one's a tad shorter, but not much. I just started writing and it sort of came out. Wasn't really planned but apparently the characters had other ideas of their own ;) I thought it was cute though and I hope you do too :) Leave me more love, I'll try to post again soon! :) -K
"They're what," I whispered angrily, my bliss forgotten as I jumped off the bed and ran to the adjoining bathroom.
Edward chuckled again and I contemplated murder, "Rose wanted to see you and Em suggested dinner, the met me in the lobby on my way in."
"And you're just now telling me," I asked through the bathroom door as I tried to clean myself up quickly.
"I wanted to surprise you; I guess great minds think alike." I scowled at my reflection in the mirror as I washed my hands, then used the excess water to try and make my make up less... Hooker-y. My hair was a lost cause though so I dried my hands and pulled it into a messy ponytail that actually looked somewhat decent.
When I reappeared a minute later, Edward had blown out the candles and changed into a grey pair of slacks and a blue button up, his sleeves rolled the the elbows. His hair looked like shit but that wasn't new. "I hate you," I complained, walking to my dresser and digging around for a pair of panties and a bra.
"I love you too," he smiled and I flipped him off. Without enough notice, I opted for a simple black sundress, with a blue ribbon around my waist, and a simple pair of sandals. It wasn't nice like Edward's outfit but it was cute and it would have to do.
When we walked into the living room, Rosalie was playing with her phone and Emmett grinned. "Took you two love birds long enough," he teased and Edward matched his grin.
I huffed, "dinner?" The question was directed at Rose and she nodded, slipping out of Emmett's arms on the couch and coming to stand beside me. "Anywhere in particular?"
"Edward got us a reservation at Bella Italiana," she confessed excited and my stomach plummeted. Edward knew I'd been trying to figure out how to tell Rose, and some time ago I was sure I'd told him how much Rose had wanted to go; was he trying to butter her up for me?
He was eager to tell people, I understood that, despite Carlisle's advice that some people wait until they're a few months along just in case. Then, I think, we'd both focused too much on the just in case and now Edward was clearly over the waiting game. Rose was a deal breaker for me, she had to know before we could tell the rest of his family. She was the only family I had and her support meant the world to me. If she couldn't get on board then... I don't know what I'd do...
I didn't talk much in the car ride over, opting instead to fiddle with the hem of my dress and state out the window at the passing buildings. Rose had asked what was wrong twice now, but I told her I was just worried about being underdressed. "Don't worry little sis, you're hot," Emmett commented and Rose smacked him. Edward rode in the front with the driver, but I could see him watching me in the visor mirror. "What? You know you're my number one girl."
"Well," Rose shrugged, interested in the hem of her own dress. "Maybe number two girl."
"What," I asked, turning to look at Rose as the car pulled up to the curb outside Bella Italiana.
Rose gripped Emmett's hand and grinned at me, "I'm pregnant."
I laughed at first, then I cried. "That wasn't what I expected," Emmett murmured and Edward snorted, climbing out of the front seat and coming around to open my door. He helped me out and wrapped his arms around me as I tried to stop crying, fruitlessly.
"Bella, oh my God, are you okay," Rosalie asked, coming to stand beside me. "I— I didn't mean to upset you—" her voice sounded disappointed and I started shaking my head, turning away from Edward and wiping furiously at my tears as I hugged my best friend.
"Rosalie, I'm so happy for you," I sniffled, hugging her tighter and rubbing her back.
"Then why are you crying," she asked, confused.
"I guess it's just in the water," I chuckled and she pulled back to look at my face. "I'm pregnant, too."
"What," she asked, her surprise turning into laughter.
I nodded, "I didn't know how to tell you… I didn't want you to hate me…"
"Oh my God, I could never hate you," she said, shedding a few tears of her own as she played with my ponytail and wiped my running mascara. "I love you, babe; you're my sister."
"I'm so happy for you," I sniffled and kissed her cheek, hugging her again.
"Pregnant chicks, dude," Emmett mumbled and we all laughed.
"Are you good," Rose asked and I nodded. "Okay good, now let's get some Italian and talk babies!"
"When did you find out," I asked after we placed our orders with the waiter.
"This morning," she grinned, gripping Emmett's hand under the table. "I took one of those EPT things, says I'm only 1-2 weeks so I was trying not to get my hopes up but I had to tell you."
I reached across the table and gripped Rosalie's other hand, squeezing it softly. "You can be excited; everything's going to be okay. I know it."
"Is it crazy that I'm really excited we're going to be going through this together?"
"Yes," Emmett nodded and Edward laughed. The waiter brought over a cart with an ice bucket and a bottle of sparkling grape juice. He filled a champagne flute for each of us, before producing two white roses for Rosalie and I.
"Aww," I blushed, sniffing it before cleaning over to kiss Edward softly. "Thank you."
"Thank you," he responded, smiling against my lips. "I'd like to propose a toast." Edward raised his Champagne glass and we all follow suit, Rosalie's radiant smile matching my own. "To Rose and Bella, for making my brother and I immeasurably happy. God help us through the next nine months."
"Here here," Emmett cheered, adding to our humor, and we all clinked glasses.
