Merry Christmas everyone! I needed some inspiration for this chapter. This won't be a Christmas special as the story will have some shocking moments. I would love to receive any comments on how you all expect me to finish Taylor's Story eventually, so I won't have to disappoint anyone! PLEASE READ: I will make choices by myself what there will or will not happen, I hope everyone understands this and I hope you will all agree! Enjoy the next chapter. :)
Chapter 28: Lost and found
Regina walked into her office, normally Taylor would already be there with her favourite coffee and even a muffin if it was a good day. But she was nowhere to find today. Regina tried to call her several times, it seemed like the young lady did not receive her calls or did not want to receive hers.
She worked on her papers for about ten minutes, when she heard the sound of clicking heels on her marble hallway floor.
"Who's there?" she said into the distance.
"Regina." A lady voice spoke from the hallway as the woman walked into the office, "I thought it would be nice to have some quality time with my daughter."
"Mother…" Regina spit out, she wasn't really waiting on a visit from Cora right now. Well at least she could ask her something that has been burning on her mind since yesterday.
"Oh don't be so excited my dear."
"Well you wouldn't come without something you would want right? So you can ask me right away, because we get all tangled up in your pretty stories."
"Well Regina, I am not here to ask you for anything to be honest. I just wanted to spend some time, with my daughter…" Cora stroked her hand on Regina's face, as she was still a little girl. "I just missed you my sweet child…"
"Yeah, right…" Regina walked away from her, "Coffee, mother?"
"Coffee?"
"Never mind mother, I'll give you some whiskey."
"Now, I actually do know what that is."
Regina handed her mother a glass of the liquor, as she chose a safe option of coffee for herself. "So mother, I saw you were going to the Pawn Shop yesterday. What where you planning on doing there?"
"The Pawn Shop? Oh you mean Rumple's little antique place, and that girl… The one with the books."
"Belle, mother."
"Oh yes, Belle! She was so lovely. A great help."
"Then what where you looking for, if I may ask?" Regina said as she skimmed through her paperwork, still standing.
"Oh I was just looking for an old item, it belonged to your dear dad… I thought we would both like to have it back."
Regina swallowed, "What was the specific item?" She looked up to Cora.
"It was his ring, he lost it long ago and I thought your friend Rumple might have it."
"I'm sorry to disappoint you mother, but he is not my friend and he will never be."
"Well anyway, he didn't have the ring. Belle checked it for me but oh well, we cannot all have what we want right?"
Regina felt suspicious about the conversation with her mother. She left shortly after she cut off the conversation. Regina had walked over to the library, but it was closed. No Taylor, no Belle. It gave her a cold stone feeling, so she decided to walk over to the Pawn Shop herself.
The bells of the front door rang as Regina walked in with her umbrella and her long black coat, it was a rainy day.
"Regina… What- what are you doing here?" Belle stood behind the glass counter, her body was covered in a grey sweater dress with a turtle neck. Her hair pinned up in a low bun. You couldn't really see it from a distance, but her eyes had a watery look with red veins. She looked tired, better said exhausted. She probably didn't have any sleep last night as her little sister was wandering around in town but no one knew where.
"Just checking in… Have you seen Rumplestiltskin?"
"He'll come back in a bit. But… I was just wondering, why where you here yesterday?"
"Excuse me?"
"Yes, you were here in the shop. And I don't know what you wanted, or did.. But Rumple became so upset that I heard him yelling to Taylor. Now she's gone, and I'm pretty sure it's because of you."
Belle had raised her voice, trying to protect her unfound sister.
"Wow wait Ms. French, I have never ever been here yesterday."
"What the hell are you talking about, I literately heard you saying how we cannot all have what we want. Where is my sister?!"
"Mother…."
"Mother?"
"Belle, I'm sorry. I really wasn't here yesterday." She paused, "Cora, my mother was here yesterday."
"Wow wait, Cora?"
"Belle… Her powers are greater than you can imagine, it's a long story. She pretended to be me, to convince Gold of something. And I might know what…"
Belle and Regina both ran over to Gold's house. Belle tried to call him several times, but he never picked up.
She opened the cherry wood front door, "Rumple?" she yelled as they both walked to the living room.
"What is she doing here?" Rumple questioned, looking at Regina.
"Gold, you've been fooled by Cora. You weren't talking to me yesterday, but to her."
"We must hurry and find Taylor." Belle said.
"She might be with the pirate." Rumple looked down, as he sat in his chair.
"You don't get it, do you? Taylor isn't even your daughter, and still she sees you as her dad. She's in love, Gold. She loved the man more than she has ever loved one before. And even if that's your greatest lover, or hater. That should not be an influence in your choice. You're her father! Her mother is gone, you should even be prepared to play both."
"It's true love Rumple… You should know about that." Belle kneeled in front of him as he closed his eyes.
"Do we have something from her?" Rumple asked.
"Check her hairbrush Belle…" Regina asked her, and she did. Belle ran up to her room, got her hairbrush and let Rumple take a hair out of it.
"We're going to make a locator spell."
They all sat around the kitchen table as the spark of the locator spell lit up, and flew away. Belle, Rumple and Regina all followed the path that was supposed to lead them to the young brunette.
"Why did it stop?" Belle asked.
"Because it stops on the place where she is supposed to be, it cannot locate her anymore." Rumple said as he looked down.
"Maybe she's not above the ground." Regina looked at Belle.
"The library dungeon… I'll open the door." Belle rushed over to the library and opened up the elevator. All of them went down as they heard a scream.
"Wait… Stop! Don't do this! Do you even hear me?!"
"It's Taylor's voice." Belle said as she looked up to Rumple.
The elevator came down and opened up, Taylor sat against the wall with both her arms and legs tied up. A cloth of fabric was tied around her neck, which probably fell down from her mouth before. There was a man with a gun standing in front of her.
"Hey, leave her alone!" Regina stepped forward as the man turned around, with tears in his eyes.
Regina's eyes grew big, "Hook?"
