Chapter 23: Daddy's Advice

Emily's POV-

"Hi it's been a while since I was here. I want to tell you about my new girlfriend." I said to my father's tombstone. I hadn't visited it in a while, not since that night when Paige McCullers saved me from the villains and kissed me the first time as Batgirl.

It was a bright afternoon, the sun was shining and I felt the wind on my face making my hair move uncontrollably.

I sit down in front of the tombstone. "She makes me happy, I feel safe whenever I'm with her and mom's seeming to like her." I said the last part with a smile that I always gave him when I told him some good news.

"I love her with all of my heart and I really wish that you could see her, she is everything I wanted and more, but that's what also worries me. I love her so much, I can't lose her like I lost you. It would break my heart and I can't handle that, not again. If I would lose Paige I don't know what I would do to myself, I stay up late every night since she is Batgirl... (Sigh) She is Batgirl, I have never said that to anyone else, but I know I can trust you... dad." I said as I felt tears running down my eyes from all the happy memories I had of my dad.

"I just don't know if I can stay with her if I have to worry about her life and think she'll die every night." I say as I'm trying to stop crying.

"Please dad. Give me a sign that everything will be ok with me and Paige." I said, not really sure why. Suddenly a note from a book flew onto my face from out of nowhere.

I grabbed the note and saw it. There was a page from a diary and as I looked up a young girl ran up to me.

"Is this yours?" I ask as I hand her the page.

"Yes, thank you I don't know what I would do without my page. I keep losing it all the time." she says and accepts the page.

"You could just write on a new page and use that." I say surprised that she still wants a page that she keeps losing.

"No it wouldn't be the same. It would just be a replacement. I bring my diary everywhere I go and write my amazing adventures. Every page is special to me, if I just wrote new one, I wouldn't feel the same way when I read it. I only want to have my old page not a different page." She says and walks back to an adult couple, probably they're her parents.

"I don't know what I would do without my Paige? You sure have a funny humor dad." I say as I get back up feeling much better just from that one odd talk with a girl that looked like she was 5 years old.

I know now that I wanted to be with Paige for as long as I could. Thank you dad even in death you still watch over me, helping me making the right decisions.

Two days later

Me, Paige, Caleb, Toby, Spencer, Hanna and Aria were all hanging out bowling. We had a good time just playing laughing and just having fun altogether.

"Hey Paigey you should get one of these." Caleb said after he got a strike.

"Yeah that would be fun." Toby said as he high-fives Caleb.

"I don't know guys. I'm already having my mansion expanded to have an indoor swimming pool built. It will be finished sometime next month." Paige answered.

"Well that's even better. We have a pool party with loud music, strong drinks and girls in bikinis. Plus since it's indoors we don't have to worry that it's cold outside. "Caleb said as he bumped into Spencer just as she was about to throw her bowling ball so she almost dropped it.

"Watch it! I almost dropped my bowling ball into the gutter!" Spencer yelled at Caleb.

Typical Spencer she is always competitive even when it's just for fun.

"Relax Spence. The kid got excited and forgot his surroundings." Toby said and hugged Spencer to calm her down.

As Toby hugged Spencer, Paige sat down next to me. As I was drinking my soda, Paige leaned towards my ear and whispered. "Hey Em. When the pool is built, how about the two of us go for a skinny dip in it?"

I almost choked on my drink. We had seen each other naked before but to hear her suggesting it right out of nowhere was a bit surprising for me.

"Babe for now, just focus on defeating Spencer." I said and gave Paige a good luck kiss, Then Paige walked to pick up her bowling ball.

"Soooo, what did your girlfriend say?" I heard Hanna asking as she walked up to me.

"Nothing" I said and drank my soda casually.

"No. She said something, something that made you surprised and almost die from your drink, come on tell me." Hanna said moving closer but I gestured that my lips are sealed and after a while Hanna gave up.

"Fine, be that way." She said trying to sound grumpy but I knew she just faked it. Hanna walked to her lane and lifted her very light bowling ball and missed all the pins for the fifth time today.

I walked to the seat next to Spencer and sat down hoping that Spencer would make Hanna stop asking me any more embarrassing questions about me and Paige.

"So Spence, how's the search to find out who is Batgirl going?" I asked. It was good to know who Spencer suspected. If she thought it was Paige, I would lie and act as an alibi for Paige. Luckily Spencer has never thought it was Paige or maybe she does and just decided to not tell me.

"No luck there. When she wants to disappear, she disappears without a trace the only clues I've found are foot prints on the ground and some broken throwing stars shaped like bats but they didn't have any fingerprints on them." Spencer says sounding disappointed.

"Spencer, you're up." Aria says and Spencer is going to pick up her bowling ball. She takes a Deep breath and throws her ball knocking down all the pins and looks to Paige and says "Strike McCullers try to top that."

It was no secret that Spencer was competitive, she hated to lose. Good for me that she wasn't into swimming, since she would never win that over me since I'm more experienced.

Paige walked up, picked up her black bowling ball and made her third strike in a row.

"I think that's called a turkey." Paige said as she walked past Spenser who seemed to get frustrated since for once she wasn't the best of us at something.

Then Hanna walked up and tried to throw her bowling ball but she held it wrong so she dropped it so it rolled in the wrong direction.

"Caleb. Help me." Hanna said annoyed.

Caleb walked up to Hanna and after he showed her how to hold it he walked up behind her to demonstrate how to throw the bowling ball but also to make a move on Hanna.

"And now you just swing your arm backwards and then... HOLY SHIT" Caleb yelled as Hanna dropped the bowling ball on the floor just hitting Caleb's foot.

"Hanna you don't drop the ball until you swing it forward." Caleb said almost shocked over what had just had happened.

"What? I'm not good at this." Hanna said back in defense.

Hanna looked at all of us and said "Can't I have someone else play instead of me?"

"NO!" Paige and Spencer said in unison.

After we had played for a while Spencer had 275 points and Paige had 260 points and she still had two more thrown left.

Paige threw her first bowling ball and made a perfect strike. Now Paige had 270 points. As she waited for her bowling ball. I could swear that Spencer was about to bite her finger nails.

"Hey guys. What will we do if Spencer lose?" Hanna said nervously.

"Hope that we are mentioned in her will." Aria said worrying that Spencer was going to kill Paige if she would win.

Paige lifted her bowling ball and walked slowly to the lane. She took a deep breath. Then she threw the ball and... Strike. Paige had one and I wanted to run up to her and kiss her, but as I got up I saw Spencer walking towards her. I froze as I saw Paige turning towards Spencer. It was like watching Freddy vs Jason only this was much more intense.

After a very long star. Spencer did the one thing no one expected her to do. She reached out to shake Paige's hand.

"Congratulations McCullers." Spencer said.

"Great game Haistings." Paige answered as she accepted Spencer's handshake leaving all of us shocked.

"So guys we still have a few hours before we need to go does anyone want to check out the arcade?" Toby suggests and we all agree.

Once we entered the arcade. I turned to Paige and said. "Babe, you should try the karaoke machine."

"Why? I'm suck at singing." Paige answered.

"So, then you can rap instead" I suggest, pushing Paige to the small karaoke stage and put my baseball cap on her head.

"No I don't want to." Paige said, I guess I'll have to try a different approach.

I lean in and whisper. "If you perform on that stage, I'll skinny dip in your pool when it's done." As I finish the sentence. I give her a kiss on her cheek.

"Fine but I'll pick the song." Paige says and steps up to the stage.

All of us grabs our cell phones and starts filming as Paige walks up on the stage, she reverses the cap and grabs the mic, and starts rapping.

The song end and Paige jumps down from the stage like a rock star and I fan up and kisses her.

"Wow Paige, you were like a rock star up there." Toby says.

"Not bad McCullers." Spencer said with a smile.

After the kiss, I lean in to Paige and asks. "Paige what does bebop a lula mean?"

"Nothing, it's just a nonsense word" Paige says with a smile and I hit her on the arm and then I pull her in for another kiss.

"Keep the cap Paige you look much better in it, than I do." I say as I look at Paige's outfit. She is wearing my dark blue cap still reversed, her light brown leather jacket, a white T-shirt, a pair of black jeans and a pair of boots. She really looked like a rapper.

After that show, all of us spent the rest of the day playing the arcade games and Paige won enough tokens to give me a small teddy bear that was a heart that said "I love you". Then we had to leave since it was getting late.

As we all walked out of the arcade Aria suddenly stopped as started staring at something.

"Aria, what's going on?" Paige asked.

"Nothing!" Aria yelled.

"No need to yell!" Paige said to calm Aria down.

"Sorry I just... OH MY GOD!" Aria yelled and we all turn to were Aria is looking and sees Mona and her brother Mike making out in a French restaurant, it looked like they were on a date.

"Just ignore them." Paige said as Aria kept staring through the window.

"That's impossible! It looks like he's eating her face!" Aria said in panic.

"Huh it kind of does." Paige said as she took a second look through the window.

"Babe just be quiet and don't ever bring this up to Aria again." I said knowing that if anyone said anything about this Aria would explode.

Aria would definitely need some girls' night to recover from that.

We continued to walk, Aria was awfully quiet but I can't say that I blame her. I walk to Paige holding my teddy bear in my arms.

"I think I'll name her Kaitlyn." I said to Paige as I nodded towards the bear.

"I like that name." Paige said and walked up next to me so I leaned my head onto her shoulder and she wrapped her arm around me, that would never get old for anyone of us.

Paige's Pov-

Next day at school

I had just finished the last class of the day, it was with Mr. Fitz. Today was very awkward, since not only did I knew that Mr. Fitz was a secret double agent. But when I followed Emily home yesterday, she had told me that Mr. Fitz is Aria's boyfriend. I didn't focus on anything during class, Mr. Fitz was the only man that had managed to infiltrate A's operations and he is still alive and he also had a relationship with Aria, that man is worth respect.

He had told us that he had been gone because he had to remove his appendicitis.

Now the class was over and I had to find out what he knew about A but I had to play it cool, really cool. I couldn't afford to let him know that I was Batgirl, how Mr. Fitz had managed to keep his secret for two years for so long was really impressive.

I walked slowly to him, now I had to find out what he knew and I had to act fast so he wouldn't be suspicious.

"Hey Mr. Fitz." I asked as he gathered his books.

"Yes, Paige is there something I can help you with?" He asked me, looking very polite.

I swallowed trying to make him think I was a weak girl so my secret wouldn't be revealed. "A few night ago I was hiding near the bridge, where I think about my dead parents and cried." I said faking sobs.

"And I noticed Batgirl and Robin were fighting a monster and after the fight I heard you talking to Batgirl and I heard you were pretending to work..." I said and cut myself off so he would understand what I meant.

Mr. Fitz jumped as he realized what I meant.

"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone about it." I said and looked him right into his eyes leaving him to think that I was worried, but I didn't want to give him the wrong ideas, I know that he belonged to Aria and she loved him with all of her heart just like I loved Emily.

"But I can't sleep at nights knowing that A is still out there kidnapping everyone." I said.

"Don't worry Paige, I'll just have to get more information about where A is or whom he or she is." He says. That's good it meant that soon he would tell me, well Batgirl where to find A.

"So don't worry about it Paige, don't worry, it will soon be taken care off." He said sounding comforting, he was a good man and I really hope that after all of this, he and Aria would have good time, maybe I'll send them some first class flight tickets to going to some place.

The door flew open and Aria walked in and said. "Hey Ezra are you ready for... Oh, Hi Paige" Aria said as she noticed me.

"Oh! Hi, Paige here was asking for extra credit and I suggested she write a crime short story that looks dark but has a happy ending." He says and turns to me. "But if you want it to be added to your grade it will have to be done by next month." He said giving me a wink.

I said my thanks to Mr. Fitz and walked out of the classroom, stopping after I closed the door.

Aria is really lucky to have him in her life. I looked through the small glass window on the door and saw Aria and Mr. Fitz kissing deeply. I'm so happy for them, I thought as I walked towards the parking lot to get my motorcycle.

Next night

I was in my mansion watching the expanded room that one day is going to be my indoor swimming pool. So far the builders had only marked the ground around the house were the expansion was going to get built. I close my eyes and imagine me and Emily teaching our children, little Kaitlyn to swim in the pool, just splashing water, messing around and laughing. I wish that one day it would all come true.

"Hi Paige." I heard Emily's voice behind me.

I turned around and saw my beautiful girlfriend.

"Hi Em, what brings you here?" I asked her.

Emily held up her teddy bear. "Kaitlyn missed her mommy." She said and I gave her a quick laugh.

We both sit down on a cough and I can tell that something is bothering Emily.

"Em is everything ok?" I ask.

"No... Well yes but no. These last few days I've been thinking, soon you'll go fighting A and I don't like the thought of you losing." Emily said and I could see that she started to tear up.

"Em, I have thought impossible odds before and I've won. At first it was because I wanted to get my revenge on A for everything that had happened to me, but now I win because of you, all my wins ever since I got here was because I wanted to be in a safe town together with you. The reason I never gave up even when it seems like I was about to lose I got back up and fought because I wanted to return to you. Emily Fields, I love you." I said pouring my heart out.

She looked into my eyes "I love you to Paige, that's why I can't lose you not now, not ever."

"Emily, I'm not going anywhere and once A is gone, there will be nothing you can be afraid of, you'll be safe and Batgirl will only have to stop small crocks and low life thugs, but still watch over you every night." I said giving her hopes about our future together.

"I'd like it better if Paige would spend the nights together with me when this is over." She said and nuzzled into my arm.

"And Paige, there is something else, my mother got suspended this morning. The captain of the police showed up on our doorstep this morning and asked for her badge and her gun." Emily said sounding worried.

"And what did Pam do?" I asked while I was rubbing her arm.

"She slammed her badge next to him and then she picked up her gun, shoved it in his arms and she said here you hold it like this. Then she pointed to the trigger and said you pull this to make it go bang, fell free to point in at a bad guy, that is if you'll ever find one." Emily said. "I've never seen her so angry before."

"That's ok, Emily I can protect you tonight and tomorrow we can try to cook something together. I got a frozen chicken in the refrigerator." I said so Emily wouldn't have anything to worry about.

"You like chicken?" Emily asked as she sat back up.

"Yes I love chicken, my favorite part is the drumsticks." I answered Emily.
