Chapter 31: Another dead end

Emily's POV

I was with Paige at her mansion, Spencer and Caleb were also there. We thought about what we would do now to stop A once and for all.

Me and Paige had talked about her imposter for the last few days and even though it wasn't Paige that dumped me I couldn't shake the felling that I had almost lost Paige as a girlfriend.

I sat next to Paige and I wanted to wrap my arm around her, but something inside me told me to not do it. I just sat next to Paige and discreetly looked at her.

"This sucks, we have no idea who A is and hypnotizing Mr. Fitz went straight to hell." Caleb said and fell back into the cough annoyed.

"Well just complaining about it, it's not helping at all" Spencer said.

They continue to argue like they were brother and sister, and Paige just sat there quiet, like she was shutting out every sound, she was so focused right now.

"SHUT UP! BOTH OF YOU!" I yelled to Spencer and Caleb and they just sat down quietly, they are not used to see me angry it was easy to notice it once they got quiet.

That wasn't the only thing that had happened, Mr. Fitz had been released from the hospital a few days ago, his memory about what had happened after he got captured by A so Aria was by his side explaining what had happened during the last few days trying to trigger his memory somehow.

I turned to Paige again not sure what to do or say, after what had happened with Shauna I was unsure how I felt about Paige.

Aria walked into the room and sat down on a chair.

"Hi Aria, how are things with Mr. Fitz?" I asked her, because the awkward silence was killing me.

"His name is Ezra." Aria said sounding annoyed that she was the only one who called him that.

"And he is not so good, ever since the hypnotism went bad he's been having nightmares about the torture that A had put him through." Aria said.

"Does he remember who A is?" Paige asked

"Well he's unsure of what he sees in his dreams, I told him to write down what happened in his nightmares in this book" Aria said and gives the book to Paige who opens it and checks through it page by page.

Paige puts down the book for a while and takes a deep breath. "He is very detailed in how he got tortured, he describes the fear and pain like it's still happening to him." Paige said and lifted the book again.

"Oh my god, he wrote twelve pages of torture and they all focus on the pain and fear he felt." Paige said and turned to another page in the book.

"What does it say about the one that's torturing him?" Spencer asked.

"The torturer is described like it's a demon not a human" Paige says, "It's like he was tortured by the devil." Paige said and closed the book before giving it back to Aria.

I wanted to say something to Paige, but I was scared to touch her, it had been like that since Shauna.

Aria puts on the jacket she was wearing and I notice that it's too big for her. Aria notices it and says "It's Ezra's jacket I'm just borrowing it." And then a note falls out of a pocket. I pick it up and read, Person of interest: Kitty, Mabel st. 8.

"Hey guys, check this out." I said and showed them the note. It seem like Mr. Fitz had find Kitty as a lead to find out who A is, so it was worth a shot to check it out.

"Great job Em." Paige said smiling and walked up and kissed my cheek, it felt good but I was still worried that it was Shauna under that skin, even if I knew that Shauna was in jail.

We all went into my car and wrote the address in the GPS and I started to drive to the location.

"So what will we do when we get to this place?" Aria asked.

"We'll spread out and use these" Caleb said and handed us some ear pieces whit a very small in built microphones. "We'll communicate through these and if someone finds this Kitty will say it in these." Caleb said and we all put on the ear pieces, good thing that we all had long hair so no one would see the ear pieces.

We kept driving and suddenly Paige reach for my hand but I panicked and pulled away, Paige looked at me confused so I got enough and stopped the car and ran out.

I stayed by a bus stop and breathed heavily, "Em, is everything alright?" I heard someone say, I looked up and saw Paige standing there looking like she was worried.

"I'm scared." I said looking at Paige.

"That's ok, everyone is scared." Paige said and started to walk closer to me so I stepped back.

"I've been scared of you every time I'm close to you I think that you're Shauna and out to kill me. I'm scared of you!" I yelled and immediately I moved my hands to my mouth and I saw that Paige was looking down at the ground.

"Oh, Paige I didn't mean it like that." I said as I saw Paige looking sad.

"If you're scared of me maybe we should break up." Paige said and walked back to the car.

Once I reached the car I saw that Paige had switched seats with Caleb, clearly she didn't want to talk to me anymore. What have I done, I had lost the girl I loved because of fear.

We arrived to the address and that's where we saw a guard standing outside the building.

"Great, it's a night club. We'll never find Kitty in here." Caleb said.

"Well let's take this one thing at the time. First let's find a way to get inside." Spencer said and we all went out of the car towards the guard.

"ID?" The guard said.

"Listen, you forget a thousand things each day why don't you make this one of them" Paige said and handed the guard a roll of money and he let us in.

"How much did you give him?" Caleb asked

"About 200 dollars" Paige answered like it wasn't a big deal.

Once we had entered we found out that this wasn't a night club, it was a strip club. We were all stunned, we didn't expect it to be a strip club.

"Ok we'll spread out to find whoever this Kitty is and then we'll have to question her about A." Spencer said and everyone we their separate ways in the club, I went to the bar because I needed a drink right now. It was hard getting to the bar without tripping over something because it was a bit dark inside the club.

Paige's POV

I walk up to a guy who was standing behind a desk.

"I'm looking for someone named Kitty." I said and the guy looked up then he pointed to one of the strippers and said "Her, the one with blonde hair." Then he ignored me, oh well I got what I wanted.

"Guy's, I've found out who Kitty is. She is one of the strippers." I said in my Comm link.

"Great." I heard Spencer say in my ear piece "Talk to her, see if you can find out what she knows." Spencer continued and I walked up to Kitty.

"Are you Kitty?" I asked the stripper.

"Yes, who want to know?"

"I do" I said frustrated "What do you know about a person named A?"

"Well, I'd love to talk some more but unless I'm with a customer I can't talk." Kitty said and started to go.

"Wait! I'm buying a lap dance." I said in an effort to make her stay. She took my money and I sat down with her doing her dance routine.

She seemed to avoid all my questions about A she just continued with her lap dance, once she finally seemed to answer one of my questions the song ended so she had to leave making me have to buy one more lap dance.

Emily's POV

I saw Paige getting a lap dance from a stripper, I didn't care that the stripper was Kitty if Paige had gotten information out of her, she wouldn't pay for more lap dances.

As I saw how the half-naked stripper grinded against Paige I wanted to tear her head off.

Paige walked back and I had enough I was so angry at her right now.

"What was that?" I said angrily.

"I tried to get some info from Kitty." Paige said.

"Well I guess that the info must have been worth five fucking lap dances to get!" I yelled at Paige.

"Emily listen, the stripper didn't knew anything she just tried to fool me into buying more lap dances from her." Paige said.

"Which you did!" I yelled

"Paige I don't know what to think about you... It's over." I said and ran out from the club, into my car then I sat there and started to cry.
