*I don't own any of the characters in this story. They all belong to their rightful owners at Dream Works, Walt Disney Studios, and Pixar.
**I do own Katelynn Odden and Chronos G. Reaper, however
"Right this way, please. Watch your step." Chronos called over his shoulder as he led the others deeper into the tower. He halted in front of closed gold doors that had a black outline an sinister looking skull that had rubies for eyes with Roman Numerals one through twelve bordering the skull like numbers of a clock decal consuming both of the gleaming doors. They swept open to reveal an elevator. Chronos stepped to the side and bowed down while sweeping his left arm across his chest towards the elevator. "After you." They gathered into rather abnormally large elevator and the doors slammed shut with a dull, dead thud when Chronos stepped in. He floated his index over the ceiling-to-floor panel and pushed two of the buttons. They were all in Roman Numerals and glowed a blood red when they were pushed. Jamie shifted uncomfortably. The atmosphere of the gold and black elevator made him feel like it was taking him to his death. A bell tolled suddenly and the doors slid open. Jamie jumped when Chronos suddenly appeared in his face. "This is yours, the dragon, and the two Vikings stop." He pointed at Rapunzel. "You. Go with them. I have heard of your healing abilities and they need it desperately. We will be on the top floor." A cold gust of wind pushed them out into the dim lit room. Jack handed Jamie Katelynn. When Jack reentered the elevator, the doors slammed back shut. The elevator ride seemed long yet quick, the remaining of the passengers reached their destination.
The top floor was breath-taking. The four faces of the clocks outside were actually transparent, showing the gold sand and sun on the right and the black sand and eerie full moon on the left. Merida noticed that the sun and moon were no longer revolving around the tower. In the center of the room was a large hourglass, it was even taller than Angus on his hind legs. The diameter of the hourglass was three feet wide. The sand within it wasn't streaming down. The floor was a mural of the sun and on the ceiling was the moon. It was better than the murals downstairs by a long shot. These ones didn't want to make her run out of the Tower. Like the rest of the Tower, gold outlined the walls.
" 'Bout time you showed up…" Bunnymund appeared from behind the hour glass.
Tooth buzzed down from the moon mural and flew around worriedly Merida and Jack. "Where's Rapunzel and Hiccup?"
"They are down below." North explained. "It is long story…"
Chronos folded his arms across his chest. "A long story, huh? We got all the time in the world to hear it, North."
Jack and Merida looked at each other and sighed. They told the Guardians what happened back in Burgess.
Tooth's eyes were filled with concern when Jack and Merida finished their tale. "Are they alright?"
"We don't know." Merida admitted, sadness hinting in her voice.
Bunnymund sighed angrily. "I knew it was a bad idea to send a bunch of ankle-biters after Pitch…"
"It vas my fault for letting them go after Pitch." Said North. "If I didn't, no one have gotten hurt."
Chronos huffed and put a hand on his hip. "But either way it was approached, we got a bigger situation here!"
"What could possibly be worse than Pitch and his band of miscreants?" Bunnymund questioned.
"Um…did you forget why I brought you all here in the first place?!" Chronos yelled. He groaned and shook his head. "Gah, I have no time to argue…actually I do but the world doesn't."
Merida crossed her arms over her chest, getting annoyed by Chronos. "What are you rambling about?"
"See that? Right there, carrot-top?" Chronos pointed at the sun and moon outside the Tower. "And this?" he motioned at the hourglass. "They are what I like to called frozen. Because of your friend crashing that beast into the ground, a time paradox broke out and time has stopped." He sounded mad.
"Chronos…" Tooth said gently. "Be gentle…"
Chronos sighed heavily, not enjoying the advice.
"Time paradox?" Jack repeated.
"Yeah, you know. That fancy word that means we are all doomed?" When Chronos sensed that Jack, and the others, didn't understand, he continued, "That beast is from a different time period, just like carrot-top here. If something from the past is destroyed in the future, the borders of time and space of the thing from past will be released into the present time and space. Now picture the thing from the past is like the fuse for a thing of dynamite and the present is the dynamite. When the fuse is lit up and gone—"
"It blows up." Jack finished for Chronos.
Chronos tapped the end of his nose. "Precisely, Frost. The time and space of today and yesterday mixed together and blew the timeline up, making it stop. And the reason why we are not frozen is because we were at one point influenced by the Sands of Time within this hourglass." He rested his hand on the hourglass on the center of the room. "Pitch stole a pint of my sands some point near the end of last year, when I would be the most vulnerable. And with those sands, he was able to get three of history's evils that represented the Negatives in the Big Four legend. I know for a fact that this was his idea all along…because with the time frozen…he can take over the world easily now."
GAHH...you guys have no idea how long it took me to me to piece together this chapter...SO MUCH RESEARCH
