Chapter 42: The Show Must Go On

Paige's Pov-

"I am Batgirl" Aria sang on the stage. "I'm Rosewood's darkest knight I'll stand up in the fight..." She kept singing and I looked over to Ezra Fitz. "You're really having this?"

"What? One of the students suggested that we make a musical about Batgirl." Ezra said.

"And you have to make it gayer than me?" I asked.

"No its sway." Ezra said.

"It's swarbage." I answered and got up.

"So what roll will you audition for?" Ezra asked.

"None!" I said sternly.

"You have to take part or you'll get an F" Ezra said.

"I know, that's why I sign up for building the props." I answered.

"Ok, well then." Ezra said and checked his schedule.

I left leaving Ezra to see the rest of the audition, once I exit the room I bumped into Irina.

"What are you doing here?" She asked.

"I got to school here, what are you doing here?" I asked.

"Getting my college credit." Irina answered and went to Ezra to help him with the auditions. Good riddance.

I went to my locker and saw Caleb standing leaned to his locker.

"This sucks." Caleb said and read one of the scripts for the theatre performance.

"I know, they seem to think what we do at night are just fun and games." I whispered to him.

"No it's not that, look who is playing Robin, Darren Johnson. Seriously Darren Johnson? He is like five feet tall and is so weak he can barely lift his own backpack." Caleb said.

"I see that you're not taking this as serious as I do." I said.

"Well if they are going to make a musical about us they could at least have a guy that is strong manly playing me." Caleb said.

"Well, why didn't you audition for the role?" I asked even though I didn't cared about the answer.

"I did but that girl Irina said I wasn't realistic enough to play Robin." Caleb answered.

"At least you're not related to her." I answered.

"Oh, sorry I forgot she is your cousin." Caleb answered.

"Yeah, and she knows that I'm Batgirl." I whispered.

"What are we going to do about that?" Caleb asked me.

"No idea." I answered.

"Well, I have to go and start on the props." I said and moved to the woodwork leaving Caleb alone to complain about Darren.

Once I got to the woodwork I saw that I'm the only one who'd be working on the props for the next two hours since everyone else was either auditioning or they had other classes to tend to.

I changed into a big hoodie and a pair off sweat pants, they were already covered in paint stains from when I painted one of the guest rooms so I wouldn't have to worry about ruining my clothes.

I started to paint some building on a big cardboard that was going to be part of the background. When I was halfway through someone covered my eyes.

"Guess who?" I heard a voice say.

"Emily." I answered, I'd recognize her voice anywhere.

"How can you be so sure?"

"I know your voice." I answered.

"So, a ghost can use any voice it wants." The voice said but I quickly turned around and saw that it was Emily.

"A ghost?" I said.

"Hey you cheated." Emily said pretending that she was mad but I knew she wasn't.

"And what are you going to do about it?" I asked and pressed my lips against hers.

"I guess some spanking could be arranged." Emily said and moved her hands to my butt and cupped my cheeks. Before I knew it I was on my back as Emily was on top off me placing kisses all over my face.

"Emily, someone could hear us." I said.

"We'll just have to make sure that we are very silent then." Emily answered and grabbed a paintbrush and started to draw something over my hoodie. Then she leaned down and started to kiss me, her hands were at the hem of my hoodie and I moved my hands inside the back off her pant as we kissed deeply.

"You should know that we'll have a musical, not a porno!" Someone shouted.

Emily moved off me and I saw that Irina was standing at the door opening and glared at us.

I got up and glared back at her, why couldn't she just leave me alone?

"I have to check some auditions, behave." Irina said and left, slamming the door behind her.

"Does she have a problem with you?" Emily asked.

"She is my cousin and she doesn't have a problem, she is a problem, my problem." I said frustrated.

"So that's you cousin?" Emily asked.

"Yeah, and she likes to make my life a hell." I answered.

"Hey, Paige Don't let her get to you." Emily said with a concerned look in her eyes.

"It's not that easy." I said.

"I won't let her..."

"Guys!" Emily and I heard a shout and when we looked where it came from we saw Spencer run towards us.

"What is it Spence?" Emily asked.

"I managed to find something from one of A's men. They will have a fight club at a warehouse down at the docks and the winner will become another one of A's closest men." Spencer said.

"So, some of A's guys will fight each other to get a higher spot." I said.

"A will be there and watch it, this is it our chance to stop A once and for all." Spencer said.

I couldn't believe it, tonight it could be all over, I knew for once where A was and she had no idea that I knew it.

That night in the bat cave

"Are you sure about this?" Emily asked as I put on my mask.

"Yes I am, A has to be stopped and this is the only time I know where she'll be." I answered.

"I still don't like that you're going in there alone" Caleb said.

"I have to do it alone." I said and Caleb looked down to the floor.

I walked over to the stealth bike and started the engine.

"Be careful." Emily said and I kissed her before I drove away, it was time to stop A tonight.

I reached the warehouse and I could tell that there was a lot of A's men inside the place, but it didn't matter, they wouldn't stop me.

I parked the stealth bike and used my grappling hook to reach the rooftop of the warehouse. There was a skylight on the roof that I looked down from and saw a big group of A's men gathering around a hooded figure that had I knew was A.

"Tonight one off you will be very lucky, since that person will be one of my top lieutenants. All you have to do is be the last one standing." A said as her henchmen started to grab random blunt weapons.

I suddenly felt an arm pressing against my throat, someone had sneaked up on me from behind and was now strangling me. I started to kick at my attacker trying to get him to lose his grip around my throat. I kicked my attacker between his legs and the pain from my kick made him drop me and I took a deep breath since I had almost passed out. Then I quickly turned around and saw my attacker, it was one of A's henchmen and he was struggling to get back up. I kicked him in his stomach so he took a few steps back, I followed up with a right hook to his jaw and finish with a left punch so he fell on his face.

He was still conscious but not a threat, I ignored him and looked down the skylight, all henchmen was in there and just about to start the fight. I grabbed my attacker by his collar looked him in his eyes and said. "Tell them that Batgirl is coming." Then I threw him through the skylight. Once he landed he looked up and said what I had told him to say before he passed out, then I jump down the skylight and used my cape to break the fall, I landed in the middle of all of A's men who was standing around me in fear.

"Ok men new rule, then one that kills the bat wins." A said and the henchmen started to surround me.

I was ready to fight and I could tell that every one of A's men were terrified and no one wanted to attack me first, I stood still in the middle and waited for one to throw the first punch at me.

After a few seconds one man ran up against me, one kick to the face and he got knocked out. Two other men tried to jump me from behind but I dodged one man's punches so he hit his friend then I punched him in his face with a hard right hook then quickly jumped back to avoid a baseball bat that other henchman swung at me, as the bat missed me I grabbed his arm and kicked his elbow so hard he dropped the bat and fell to his knees.

I noticed that one of the henchmen was holding an oil barrel above his head and was about to throw it at me, I threw a batrang that hit him in the face and made him drop the barrel on his own head.

Three henchmen surrounded me and tone was holding a chain that he swung like a whip, when he swung the chain against me I dodged so it hit a henchman that was standing behind me. I threw a hard punch to the guy with the chain that hit him so hard I felt his nose break.

After a while I activated my power gloves to make sure that I'd finish the fight sooner, once they were activated I punched one guy in his gut and the shock from the glove made him fall unconscious to the ground, then I punch another guy that dropped to the floor and I kept knocking out A's men until there was only one last guy standing, he was holding a steel pipe but I could tell he was too sacred to fight. "Leave." I hissed as I glared at him and he drop the pipe and ran out as fast as he could.

"Impossible." A said.

"I've come for you." I said.

"Do I even know you?" A asked.

"You caused my parents death." I answered.

"Do you have any idea how little that tells me?" I said.

"Sorry, you won't get any more clues." I said then I ran towards A who fled through a back door.

I chased after A into the next room where she tripped.

"It's over A!" I shouted and I ran up to A and yanked down her hoodie.

"Please. Don't hurt me." A young red haired girl said to me.

I could see into her eyes that she was terrifies so I knew this wasn't A, it was a decoy.

Suddenly an explosion knocked me to the ground, I got up and saw two figures a guy and a girl, they were both wearing white make up over their faces, the guy had short green hair and a purple suite and the girl had dark hair and she was wearing a short dress and high heels.

They both walked up to me and I quickly jumped back on my feet.

"Oh, she still have some fight in her." The guy said.

"Well baby, let's make sure that we kill her then." The girl said and then both laughed insanely.

There was something familiar with their voices but I couldn't remember from where I knew them.

"Who are you two guys?" I asked as both walked around me to surround me.

The girl did some gymnastic flips towards me and as I got ready to counter what she was doing I heard a loud bang, then a pain in my left arm, the pain was too much for me to handle so I fell down to my knees. I had been shot from behind and the bullet was still inside me.

I looked up and the girl kicked my chin and I feel backwards to the ground.

The guy looked down at me and smirked "I'm the Joker." he said and laughed again. He gestured to the girl and said "This is my partner in crime Harley Quinn." the girl bow and walked towards me.

"Well well Batsy I expected so much more from someone with your reputation." She said and grabbed a baseball bat.

"Guess you just need to force the monster into the dark to see how week it really is." The Joker said and laughed.

"Come here baby." The Joker said and wrapped his arm around Harley's waist and they kissed. "Baby if you just could picture how your sister would react if she saw us now." Harley said after the kiss.

"She can complain how much as she wants I'll just bring up that she is dating her teacher." Joker said.

That's when I realized who they were, it was Mike and Mona, I couldn't believe it Aria's own brother had turned evil.

I tried to get up but the pain in my arm was just too much.

"Looks like the bat is hurt, better finish her off now." Mike said and placed an explosive device on the ground and he and Mona left the room as I struggled to get up, but I felt that my strength was failing me.

The device started to beep and I could tell I only had seconds to escape with my life. I once again tried to get up, I mustered the last of my strength to force myself up and I slowly walked to the door.

I heard the beeping going faster and faster hinting that the device would explode any second now.

I felt my legs give up, but as I dropped to the floor someone lift me and suddenly I was going at a very high-speed, before I knew it I was outside the blast zone, I looked up and saw that Flash was the one who had saved my life. That was the last I remembered before passing out.

The next day

I woke up in my bed and I saw Emily sitting on a chair next to me, she was holding my hand.

"Em..." I tried to get up but I was still too sore.

"Paige, you're awake." Emily said sounding like she had cried very recently.

"Where am I?" I asked.

"You're home." Emily answered.

"A is..." I tried to ask.

"Ezra and Caleb was out all night but they didn't find A anywhere or the Joker and Harley Quinn." Emily said.

"It was a trap." I said as I leaned down on my pillow.

"Yes it was, good thing that she told us so Ezra got there in time to save you." Emily said.

"Who told you I was walking into a trap?" I asked.

"That would be me." I heard another voice say, it was Irina.

"You?" I said confused.

"Yeah, I couldn't just let my cousin die." Irina said.

"How did you know it was a trap?" I asked.

"I know A, I've traced her for years." Irina said.

"Hey, Irina I'm sorry for..."

"We're family you don't have to apologize to me." Irina said.

"I was wrong about you." I said feeling very guilty that I had thought my cousin was working against me.

"Forgive and forget, that's how families work." Irina said.

"I'll leave you two love birds, don't do something that would break the bed." Irina said as she walked out of my room.

"I was wrong about my cousin." I said.

"Yeah, I never thought she'd be on our side the way she acted around you." Emily said.

"If you're hungry I've made you some soup." Emily said.

"I'm starving." I said I said and looked into Emily's eyes.

I sat up and Emily fed me the soup, I was still mad that I had fallen into A's trap but at least I was alive and having Emily nursing me back to health was not too bad.

Emily's Pov-

It had been two weeks since Paige had fallen into A's trap, now she was fully recovered and I was very happy to see her feeling better.

We were out on a walk enjoying each other's company, I am very happy to spend time with her, I knew it was very selfish to think but I sometimes wished that she'd take a long vacation from being Batgirl and spend time with me.

"Paige, if your life would be a movie who do you think would play you?" I asked.

"You think my life would be a movie?" Paige asked and raised one of her eyebrows.

"Well it would defiantly make one incredible movie." I said.

"Well since it will probably be years until they make this into a movie so it's probably some actress that's not even born yet." Paige answered.

"Yeah, I guess you're... Oh no." I said when I noticed that it started to rain.

Paige and I started to run since we weren't wearing any rain clothes, we ran to Paige's mansion since it was closer than my place.

Once we were indoors we both breathed heavily since we both ran as fast as we could to avoid getting wet, but our clothes where completely soaked when we were indoors.

The first thing I did when we were in the hallway was to kick off my shoes and remove my sock since walking in wet shoes and socks was one of the worse things I knew.

I looked over to Paige and she did the same. She was wearing a white shirt and black jeans. The wet shirt was so wet I could see her toned stomach, lean arms and I could also see that she was wearing a black bra.

"Emily, is everything ok?" Paige said and seeing her wet hair along with her wet clothes that clung to her body was too much for me to handle, I pushed her up against the wall and kissed her with passion. Then it traced kisses over her face and throat. "You... look... so... hot." I said as I was kissing her, then she grabbed my arms and pushed me against the wall. "So do you." She said and we kissed again and our tongues danced in each other's mouths.

"Let's take this to the bedroom." Paige said and I agreed, we were heading to Paige's room but when we reached the kitchen Paige pressed me up against the refrigerator, she placed her hands on my butt and lifted me so I wrapped my legs around her waist as kept kissing.

I reached down to Paige's shirt collar and ripped it open so buttons flew all over the kitchen floor, I placed my hands on Paige's stomach and traced my finger up and down her abs.
