"So…this Chronos guy…can he be trusted, Jack?" Hiccup asked.
Jack shrugged. "I really have no idea. I got a bad vibe about him but then again…"
"He's the Guardian's version of Hel," said Hiccup.
The Four and Jamie looked at Hiccup with a look that said: "what the heck are you talking about?"
Hiccup continued slowly, as if they were the ones who were crazy, "Hel…? The goddess of the Underworld…?"
Jamie scratched the back of his head, "Um…first of all, the person was control of the Underworld's name is Hades and he's a god, not a goddess…"
"Wrong mythology, Jamie," Jack said out of the corner of mouth. He shook his head and went back to the topic on hand, "But really guys, I don't know about Chronos. He's not a Guardian, technically, but he's an ally of the Guardians."
"Exactly. That's I'm thinkin'." Merida agreed. "But don't go on his bad side, I've learned that much…he has a temper."
"A temper, huh? I deal with Katelynn's temper when something at school blows her top," Jamie joked. "I think I can handle anything."
Jack whipped around to Jamie. "No. As soon as that…that kid wakes up, you and her are getting out of this."
"But, Jack—!"
Jack held his hand up, stopping Jamie. "Ah! Jamie, if this plan of Chronos' goes south, you're the last hope for the world because you'd Believe no matter what happens."
"And you're the only one that Believes in all of us." Rapunzel added.
"Also from what Jack said, if Chronos dies and time supposedly goes to Pitch, he'll restart time like normal but overrun it with fear. And when that happens, you'll be the kids' last hope to keep them Believing." Hiccup chipped in.
Jamie nodded hesitantly. "I understand…" he mumbled.
"You don't sound so sure, sport," Jack told him.
"That's because I'm not sure!" Jamie exclaimed. "I have a feeling that I need to help you guys! And not just on the sidelines."
Rapunzel approached Jamie slowly and placed her hand on his shoulder. She bent down a tiny bit and looked up into his eyes. "I promise you that you wouldn't just be on the…sidelines. But Jamie, we ask you this because we don't want you to get hurt," she explained with a small smile.
Jamie huffed and peeled away from Rapunzel. "I know that but still…" he paused for a second and asked all of them with a bit of an edge in his voice, "Don't you guys feel the same way? I mean, I feel like I have to do anything I can to help you!"
"That's because you do, dear Jamie!" a voice boomed from the end of the room. The Four and the teen turned around to see Chronos. The heavy elevator doors slammed behind him. "Sorry for the delay. The lift was going bonkers." His dead white lock was larger than the last time they saw him.
"Jack…who's that…?" Hiccup asked from the corner of his mouth.
"That's Chronos," Jack answered in the same level of volume.
"That's Chronos?"
Jack hummed, "Mh-hm."
As Chronos walked closer to the Four he seemed to recite, "When the dawn of Time first shown it's light onto thine Earth, birth of the shadows came forth. When the shadow threatened the light, the will of the change of Seasons came to disband the shadow. The harmony of the Seasons kept the world at peace of Pride, Intimidation, Deceit, and Fear. But…when the harmony fell, the Age of Darkness was born. New defenders of the light and Earth kept Negatives at bay until, someday, the Seasons will return to thee, Earth. When hath Apocalypse returns with thine mighty blow and Olde Protectors aren't there, the blood of thy Seasons will protect along with help of blood of two blood. The Negatives shall shrivel in thine's power, o, heavenly sent Protectors of Earth!" Chronos finally met with the Four and Jamie. He grinned as he placed his arms behind his back. "And, Bob's your uncle! The old text is unfolding! Oh, history is writing itself! Can't wait to see the final chapter ending. Hopefully with me returning back to my old bloody self is written in there somewhere."
"What…are you talking about?" Rapunzel asked, her head tilted to the side.
"Yeah, uh…can you repeat that? In plain English?" Jack requested.
Chronos grunted and rolled his eyes. "Oi, ya blokes…get blunter and blunter, I swear on old Moony…" After rubbing his temples, Chronos re-explained, "You lot are the 'blood' of the Seasons. Miss Goldie Locks represents Spring for her magical locks renew and bring hope to the ones that are wounded. Carrot-Top, came from the land of beautiful summers! And not to mention that your hair looks like it was set on fire and same with your personality. Now! Viking number two! Even though you're island is close to freezing your rumps off, your falls are decent and cool. I mean, they would have Oktoberfest their…if they knew it existed, that is. And what's more fall-like than being a Viking! I don't know about you but when I think of fall, I think of the brutes. And last but not least…Frost. Do I have to explain more?" He made his way to Jamie. "Now for the 'blood' of the 'two blood', is him. Descendent of Goldie-Locks and Frost. And her, the descendent of Viking the Original and Carrot-Top! Does that now make sense?" Before waiting for an answer, he went to Katelynn's bedside. He touched her forehead. "Wakey, wakey!"
Like a daisy, Katelynn sprang up. She clung onto her head. "Jeezo…what is wrong with you?!"
"Many things, chap. Many things…" Chronos answered with a smirk.
Merida stared at her. "Wasn't she…?"
Chronos finished for Merida, "Almost dead?" he bobbed his head up and down. "Yeah…left me no choice but to hold Punzie's powers back to teach her a, what would you call it…? Oh! A lesson."
"For what?" Jamie inquired.
Katelynn rose up to her feet shakily and held onto the bed post as she answered, "That you were right all along. There are such a thing as Guardians…" her eyes went over to Jack and choked a gasp. "I-It's you…"
Jack glared at her. "And it's you…"
"Look, I know you probably hate me—"
"Hate you? That doesn't even start it, kid…"
"Jack, all I want to say is that—"
"I don't want to hear what you have to say…I-I don't know how but you put my sister's life into jeopardy! She was only eight and you almost cut it short—!"
"I know!" Katelynn yelled. Her yell made Jack freeze in the middle of his rant on her. "I know. It's my fault that your sister almost drowned in the ice. And it's also my fault that you died saving her…and I wanted to say that…I'm...I'm sorry…I'm so sorry…"
Jack stared at her, not believing that she just apologized for a matter that happened over 300 years ago. And he knew she meant it, she was getting all red and teary-eyed. He sighed deeply before he said, "…Katelynn, is it? The only reason why I remember you from that is because Tooth amplified my forgotten memories. If I wasn't able to remember the reason why that happened when I first got my memories back, I suppose…I can forgive you…but if anything, and I mean anything, happens to Jamie and it's because of you, I'll never forgive you again."
Katelynn nodded. "I understand. Chronos told me the legend while I was down under. I want to make it up to all of you. I don't want to harm any more lives than I have today…" she wobbled her way to the elevator. "Chronos said it's safe to roam back on Earth. Follow me to my place. I got a lot of stuff that can help you get rid of dude in black…and the others." She turned and smiled at the Four, the Lord of Time and Grim Reaper, and Jamie. "Oh, and uh…call me Birna."
The story is escalating! I'm afraid it may be over soon! I DON'T WANT IT TO BE OVER! DX
Leave a review if ya like the newest chapter, chaps! I miss you all reviewing...makes me feel like you don't care about the story anymore...
