**I do own Katelynn (Birna Katelynn Odden-Haddock) and Chronos G. Reaper, however
North's team of reindeer swooped down to the Burgess high school, landing at the entrance. "This is stop," he said over his shoulder. Rapunzel and Birna got off of the sled first. They helped Hiccup off and help him stand and walk, since he was now limited to one workable leg and foot. Toothless got off after him, trailing behind the three in case Hiccup fell. It was still unclear how exactly North's sled was able to hold all of them…but then again, he delivers tons-worth of toys each year that vary in size and weight. As soon as they got a safe distance away from the sled, North instructed, "Be careful, my friends. You never know what things lurk in the shadows."
"We'll be careful," Rapunzel promised. She looked over her shoulder. "Right, Pascal?" Pascal's head poked out of her golden locks and nodded. He perched himself on her shoulder.
North smiled. "Good, good! I was just reminding you, that is all! We may be busy with fixing time but let us know if you need help."
Hiccup made a curt nod. "We will."
Birna nodded in agreement. "Já. You have nothin' to worry 'bout."
"Then farewell. Good luck on your side." North snapped the reins of his sled's team and took off like a rocket back into the frozen black sky. A portal formed in from of him and it swallowed the team whole. North was now gone.
Rapunzel, Birna, and Hiccup made their way to the front doors of the school. Rapunzel took Hiccup's full weight when Birna motioned that she needed to fiddle with the door. "Are you doing okay, Hiccup?" Rapunzel asked him with concern hinted in her voice.
"I think so…thanks, Rapunzel."
Birna groaned and punched the door. "The stupid thing's locked…"
Hiccup made a playful smirk as he said, "Toothless can fix it."
"How—?" Birna jumped to the side with a yelp when the door exploded in front of her. She whipped around to see Toothless' mouth dim its flame's glow and close. "You can't just blow up a door!"
Rapunzel was giggling. "At least we can get in now."
Birna huffed and returned to Hiccup's side to take her share of his weight. They entered. "Can you make it to the other end of the school? The shop is on the other end and…well, it's a separate building. But the only way ya can get to it is going through the main school. I promise ya, no stairs."
Hiccup shrugged, which was hard since his arms were draped around Rapunzel's and Birna's shoulders so they could keep a good hold on him. "We'll see."
Rapunzel suggested, "If you get tired, you can get on Toothless."
"Ya do remember how to make the dragon's tail, right?" Birna asked.
"Yes, I remember it well enough. The hard part is working with things that weren't at Gobber's shop."
"Gobber?" Rapunzel repeated curiously. "Who's that?"
"He's my village's black smith. I'm his apprentice. Ever since I was little…since I was a laughing excuse for a Viking…"
Birna's eyebrow rose. "Really? In my perspective, I think you're a perfect Viking…but…then again…there aren't very many Vikings around anymore."
"No more Vikings?"
"Já. They nearly died out near the…I want to say the early 12th century, as a culture and ways. The people remained but traditions changed. Trade was down for them and they had no choice, really."
"Oh." Hiccup didn't exactly like the sound of that. According to North, he was from the 12th century. Does that mean Berk will die out in his life time? He shook his head. 'No. I will not allow that to happen. I won't let Berk die.'
"Hiccup?" Rapunzel's voice broke through Hiccup's thoughts. "You're starting to look exhausted…maybe you should be on Toothless until we get there."
"She's right. You don't look so good, Hiccup."
Hiccup reluctantly nodded. With their help, he was sent down on Toothless' still tattered and burnt saddle from the…crash. Toothless rumbled happily when Hiccup returned to his saddle, glad that he didn't have to walk anymore. "How much longer?"
"It's around the corner and down the hall. Then we'll have to go through the double doors and back outside. There's a short brick sidewalk that leads strait to the workshop. I know where the teacher keeps the spare key so no more shooting! The only thing we must do is keep the double doors open…like with a book…or the mat." Birna took off her shield off of her back. "Or if we're desperate…I'll use this."
Rapunzel eyed the design on the metal shield. "It kind of looks like Toothless."
Hiccup tilted his head to the side and squinted at the design. "You know…it does. Where did you get that?"
"My mom's inheritance collection. That's why I want it to use it as a last resort. It's the original…unlike my armor." Birna stopped in front of black double doors. In red writing above the door, it said: The Workshop. To Rapunzel and Hiccup, the sign and the doors weren't welcoming. Birna opened the door and waited until Hiccup, Toothless, and Rapunzel passed her. She slid the door mat into the door's latch's way so it wouldn't lock them outside. "Follow me."
As they followed her, the more they had the urge to run. The path, like she said, was made of brick. Vines and weeds grew out of the edges between the bricks, like it was un-kept. Tall, creepy trees shadowed the path. Some of the tree's branches were still bare and they looked like boney sharp claws ready to grab them. The moon's light wasn't helping, neither was the small, ghostly breeze. At the end of the path was a large brick building that seemed older than the school itself. Ivy grew on the walls and the shrubs that were under the windows were dead, showing off their prickly skeleton. Rapunzel yelped when a crow flew in front of her face and over her head. Toothless snapped at the bird when it got close to him, making it fly away. Now, Rapunzel's knuckles were turning white for holding onto her frying pan so tightly. She was shaking.
Birna stopped and crouched at the place mat of the building. She curled it into her hand and picked up a black key. She put it in the knob and unlocked the door. "Alright. We're in. Ready to make that tail, Hiccup?"
Hiccup gulped and brought his eyes to hers. "A-as long I don't have to be out here anymore…"
"Oh, sorry! I forgot to mention that this is the oldest part of the school! This was the original school. When the new one was built, they turned this one into the workshop and art building. I guess…it's creepier at night than in the day. I feel like I'm in a horror game every time I go to class. Like Slender or something." She chuckled, "It's funny. It's the only reason why Jamie doesn't take art class or shop." She stepped inside and turned on the lights. "Come on in. Let's get to work."
And...I let my creepy leak out a bit at the end. Sorry! I couldn't help myself!...and it doesn't help that I was playing "The Crooked Man" earlier...xD So anyways...I hope you enjoyed this chapter and I will try my hardest to update! Goodbye for now and leave a review! I like to hear from you guys. ^-^
