A/N 1- I still don't care that I'm changing some facts.

A/N 2- This story has a bit of yaoi thrown in every once in a while in case someone totally missed it. I do try to point it out if there's an actual chunk of it, but a word or phrase or line gets thrown in sometimes and I apologize if that offends anyone.

A/N 2.25- I do try to put the major moments in where there's not a lot of actual plot or development, just relationship development.

(Ryuken/Isshin Yaoi)

Three weeks later found Isshin groaning as he opened his eyes, arms instinctively tightening around the warmth encased in them. He smiled and pressed his lips to the white hair tucked beneath his chin. He was content to just lie there all day, and knew very well they could as neither of them worked that day. He felt a slight rustling that signified the man waking up. As he sensed his partner gain consciousness, he felt the inquisitive searching of the man's Quincy reiatsu disperse, trying to find something, someone, he would most likely never find again.

Ryuken whimpered as he opened his eyes, feeling lost and alone without the brush of familiar reiatsu against his own that his son's would give him whenever he had sought him out in the past…most times…there was that period of time where the boy had gone to Soul Society to save the shinigami girl from execution that he hadn't been able to, but that had been different as Urahara had given him updates whenever he asked (which had been every few hours).

Isshin smiled sadly as he tightened his grip around Ryuken's pale waist, squeezing just enough to feel a warm gush of fluid spill onto his thigh. He laughed softly as the other man glared up at him for it. "Morning, Ryu," He said, winking cheekily at the elder Ishida.

Ryuken's glare hardened as he tried to wiggle and squirm away from the Ishida, only to feel more hot fluids seep from him. "We are going to take a bath," He said harshly before biting the man's arm.

Isshin's other arm reflexively elbowed the thinner man, causing sharp teeth to dig further into his arm, drawing blood. "OWW!" He cried, yanking his arm away from the teeth, ripping his skin further.

Ryuken smiled pleasantly. "That's what you get for doing…that!" He retorted, sitting up gracefully and turning away from the man. He ran a hand through his hair, smoothing down what he could.

Isshin sighed as he rubbed his aching arm. "How's your jaw?" He asked, concerned he may have caused a nasty bruise to form from his elbow.

Ryuken sighed irritably. "I'm fine. Anyway, you hit like a girl," He retorted, swinging his feet off the bed and onto the cold floor in a huff.

Isshin growled and play tackled the man. "I do not!" He mock-shrieked indignantly. He received a sideways look that basically screamed a sarcastic 'suuuuure' from the other man. Smirking, he reached for the man. "If I hit like a girl, what does that make you, uke?" He asked, trying to make the other give in and agree with him. He wanted to win the argument and was determined to make the other man fold.

Ryuken rolled his eyes at the man's dramatic statement. "You hit like a girl, I said nothing about your…bedroom abilities," he said, standing up silkily and sauntering away from the bed.

Isshin sighed forlornly, watching the man walk to his closet. "What time will you be back in bed to fix me?" He asked, giving up the argument much faster than he expected.

Ryuken only smirked.

Urahara opened his eyes as slowly as he could. It was early morning, that much he knew; but it was quite a bit later than he was used to getting up. He sat up quickly and looked around, desperately searching around for the dark-skinned teen he depended on so much over the past few weeks. But, he knew he wouldn't find Sado anywhere near as he'd be at school. Sighing irritably, he got up and went out to the front. He was more than slightly irritated that he couldn't curl up next to the large teen, but instead he was able to curl up to another who would was willing to help him: Noba.

Noba looked up in shock as he felt the familiar spiritual pressure of his creator. The man rarely came out of his room if Sado wasn't with him, but whenever school was in session, it gave him a chance to hug his creator. He smiled at the man and moved next to him, immediately wrapping his arms around the blonde. He felt the larger arms of the ex-captain wrap around him, too, and his smile widened, happy to feel like he was helping the blonde once more.

Urahara lightly tugged Noba to a nearby futon, laying down with the thin mod-soul. They closed their eyes and took solace in one another, waiting for the teens to come back from their version of prison.

Ulquiorra glared at the small devise in his shaking hand. He hated it. He hated what it represented and its purpose. He found it vile and disgusting. He was loathe to turn it on and call in his (now) bi-hourly report to the evil tyrant leading the whole of Hueco Mundo. But, if he didn't, he knew he would be replaced in his spying duties by someone who wouldn't report like he did. As he was debating how to proceed, the device rang. Before he answered, he waited patiently, hoping Lord Aizenor Gin would be through interrogating him, or not be the caller at all. When he finally picked up the call, he didn't expect the voice that spoke to be the caller.

"Heeeyyyyy, my beautiful fourth espada," the disgustingly sultry voice said.

Ulquiorra blinked slowly, trying to understand why the sexta espada called. "Where is Lord Aizen-sama?" He asked stoically, trying not to let the immense relief he felt surging through him betray himself to the blue-haired menace.

"Awwww!" Grimmjow pouted, pretending to be disheartened. "Don't you wanna talk to me?" He asked teasingly, ignoring the familiar pain spreading through his chest from the shorter espada's clear reluctance to talk to him.

Ulquiorra sighed softly as he hung up. He had tried to get ahold of Aizen when Grimmjow called, that was enough of an effort to see him through. Any negative feelings he had disappeared immediately, however, as he turned to watch Uryu as the Kuchiki noble dealt with his relations.

The Kuchiki Elder was livid, positively livid. He watched as the young Ishida child ran around playing with the seventh captain, eleventh lieutenant, and the manifested swords of the thirteenth captain with evident contempt. He turned to Byakuya and sternly remarked, "This is not acceptable behavior for a Kuchiki child, even an adopted one." He crossed his arms to try to show his seriousness and lack of acceptance for the man's decision.

Byakuya elegantly raised an eyebrow. "I. Don't. Care." He said slowly, carefully enunciating every single syllable for clear and unmistakable understanding's sake. He turned to watch Uryu chase vivaciously after Komamura, Byaka held tight in his arms.

The Kuchiki Elder sputtered; he did not expect the head of the Kuchiki clan to say such a bold thing. "But…But…The family name, the dignity, the formalities, the digni-" he tried to argue and reason with the raven, but Byakuya cut him off sharply.

"Does not matter. We have spent far too much time worrying over what other people will say and think of us instead of concentrating on much more important things. Important things like our children and their sense of freedom. We have ordered them around instead of showing them love and affection. I felt unloved growing up, as did my father and his father and their brothers. I'd even dare to say you felt that way at one point or another. It's time to stop worrying about our dignity and pride and start to worry about the welfare of the children and the bond we as parents share with them," Byakuya said, not taking his eyes off of the children. "Wouldn't you agree?" He asked, tilting his head the slightest bit to look at the man.

Under such a steady and powerful gaze, as well as the convincing argument, the elder turned away in shame. Shame at being out witted by the younger man. He stalked furiously off, trying to get away from the commanding noble before he risked his own physical well-being by angering the strong shinigami.

Byakuya smiled as he turned back to the children. "It's time to come in for a while," he called to them, watching with pleasure as four eager children and one large and enthusiastic captain ran towards the house. He couldn't help but laugh lightheartedly as he heard one voice calling out he or she would beat the others in.

Sajin smiled broadly as he raced the youngsters to the door, purposefully letting each of the giggling kids get in before him. He forced himself to trip near the grinning noble, delighting in the giggles of Yachiru, Kotowari, and Sogyo as they ran straight through the door and into Quentin. He laughed softly as Uryu hurried back to him and pressed his tiny inquisitive hands to his large chest, looking very worried.

Uryu panted heavily as he worried over the fallen captain. "Is you hurts? Where'd you felled? Does you has a bruise?" He quickly asked, not giving the wolf anytime to answer as he looked the captain over as much as he could whilst he was laying on the ground.

Sajin laughed again as he picked the boy up and winked secretly at Byakuya, who had been doing his best to stifle his laughter. "I think….I think that I squished my hugger box. It may be broken. It may be broken beyond repair," he said as seriously as he could, trying not to laugh as the boy's big blue eyes grew wide in fear for his friend.

Uryu felt concern and horror bubble up in his tiny chest after hearing what his friend had said. "Then we's haves to fixes it!" He cried anxiously, pulling at the captain's furry hand to try to force him to stand up so they could go take a look as soon as possible.

Byakuya couldn't help but burst out laughing as Uryu panicked. But as the boy looked at him incredulously with his mouth open and everything, he immediately stopped and helped the boy pull the seventh captain up. "Oh, yes, we must get you looked at, Captain Komamura," he said in mock seriousness. He wanted to chuckle, to tease them, but he didn't want to upset Uryu further.

Sajin assuredly smiled at Uryu and nodded slowly. "Yes, let's go in and have you look at me and see if anything can be done to heal my aching wound," he said dramatically for the boy's benefit. He, too, was trying not to burst out laughing at the boy's reaction, but seeing the boy so seriously distraught made him keep the urge in check.

Byakuya smiled as he 'helped' Komamura up before picking Uryu up. "Come on, Little One, there's bread for all of us to make after you look him over, okay?" He said, holding the boy close to his chest to try to soothe him with his heartbeat.

Uryu nodded and snuggled close to the familiar beat of Byakuya's heart, feeling the man relax under his cheek. "I canst takes a looksies or twos overs you whiles they canst starts to bakes the breads. We cans haves the table and theys can worked on ze countery top. Okay?" He asked Komamura, smiling in what he thought was courage to keep the seventh captain brave so he wouldn't freak out.

Sajin bit his lip to keep from laughing and nodded quickly, not at all trusting himself to answer out loud.

When the trio got to the kitchen, they found the other three children standing on top of the table arguing over who could jump the farthest off without running.

"I can go the farthest! Kenny and I go jumping off'n things all the time!" Yachiru stated, causing the other two to gasp in indignity.

"We are zanpakuto! It is our job to go fartherer than you!" The twins exclaimed in outrage at the same time.

The persistent bickering went back and forth, much to Uryu's distress. He started wiggling, trying to get out of Byakuya's tight embrace.

Byakuya gently let the squirming boy down and stood back up just in time to see Yachiru start to jump off the high table. On instinct, he quickly reached out and grabbed her to keep her from falling. "No!" He shouted, worried she had hurt herself. He set her down on her feet on the floor as Sajin carefully lifted the other two down off the table and set them in front of Byakuya next to Yachiru

As Byakuya scolded the trio for fighting on the table and being on the table, Sajin gently held onto Uryu's hand, trying to help keep him calm.

Uryu felt hot tears trickle down his flushed cheeks as Byakuya scolded his friends. And as soon as Byakuya was through with chastening the trio, he took a turn and stood in front of them. "Don't you dare worry me like that! Saji's box hugger is brokeded and I don'ts want to loses any of my friends or has them gets hurted for being too stubborn for theirs own goodses!" He chided firmly, too afraid they'd get themselves hurt to worry about them being angry with him. He was close to hyperventilating and the tears that were coursing down his cheeks weren't helping any.

Sogyo, Kotowari, and Yachiru looked down sadly. "We're sorry, we didn't mean to upset you," they said together, all ashamed they had worried their youngest friend over such an insignificant topic.

Sajin looked at Byakuya with an eyebrow raised, both equally impressed and shocked at the young raven's sense compared to what the others had just done. "Come on, we have bread to get into the oven," he said kindly, picking Uryu up with a paw and setting him down in a chair.

Yachiru perked up immediately at the mention of food. "Bread?" She shouted, making Byakuya wince with her volume. She ran to the counter, anxious to get to baking and already forgetting about their little misadventure.

Kotowari shrieked in delight, making Byakuya wince again, and ran to the counter to join the pink-haired girl in her excitement and impatience. "Can I crack the flour? And sift the eggs? Pleeeeaaaase?" He begged, making Yachiru laugh at his mix up of verbs.

Sogyo sadly glanced at his crying friend, upset over the fact that he helped to make his friend so distraught. He silently watched as Komamura gently held Uryu close to his chest to try to comfort him. "Ury…" he softly whispered before he, too, joined Byakuya and the other two in preparing the bread dough.

Uryu took a couple minutes to calm down before he smiled up at Sajin. "We's gotta fixes you up," he said as happily as he could manage, trying not to cry any more.

Komamura smiled softly as he nodded, sitting down on the cold floor so the boy could thoroughly look him over. He stifled multiple chuckles as tiny hands poked and prodded at him, looking for any bumps or bruises. He smiled over the boy's head at Byakuya and let out a soft chuckle as the man kept moving and shifting items to keep three baking children from getting injured, the batter from falling, and trying to light the oven.

Uryu questioningly looked up at Sajin as he chuckled, taken aback by his booming laughter. "Wha's so funny?" He innocently asked, looking in the direction the wolf was facing.

Komamura smiled as he picked the thin boy up and set him in his lap. "I think I know how to fix my hugger box," he said cheekily, bouncing his knee to make the boy laugh.

It worked, as Uryu couldn't help but smile broadly and giggle as he bounced. "How do we does that?" He asked softly, tilting his head back to look up at the large fuzzy captain.

Sajin's smile brightened. "Give me a hug. A big one. The biggest one you can," he whispered with smirk, playfully teasing the younger.

Uryu's face lit up brilliantly as he thought for a short moment. "That might work!" He said decidedly, turning to give Sajin a big hug.

Komamura laughed as he tightly hugged the boy back slowly, pretending what had 'broken' was fixed and on its way to working. "Look! Look!" He cried excitedly, making Uryu pull back slightly to see the hug.

Uryu cheered happily as he gave the captain another bear hug. "We's a good medycal team!" He said, nuzzling into the wolf's soft neck fur happily.

Sajin smiled brightly as he held the boy close. "Yeah, we do, don't we?" He whispered, enjoying the rush of love and affection he held for the boy surge through his veins like a train.

Byakuya was smiling as he balanced his tasks of mixing, watching, and cleaning. He looked back over his shoulder to see how Komamura and Uryu were doing, but what he saw caused him to stop completely. He felt his walls crumble and his heart break a little at how peaceful the two looked. He shook his head fiercely. 'No. He's yours. No reason to get jealous. It's how a lot of adoptive parents feel when they feel their child hasn't bonded completely yet. It's okay,' he told himself over and over, trying to feel better about the situation.

Sogyo, Kotowari, and Yachiru slowly inched their way to the oven door, wanting to watch it warm up. Yachiru was leading the way with the twins right behind her, but when she looked back to see if they were still following her footsteps closely, she accidentally stepped on Byakuya's foot.

The yelp of pain that followed caused everyone to freeze instantly. Byakuya slowly looked down to see what had caused him such pain, but a shouted "Run!" and a streak of pink and blue were all he saw as the sound of three pairs of feet dashed away down the hall. He softly chuckled and shook his head, opening the oven door so he could set the ready bread dough on it to rise. But, before he had even had a chance to move the dough, however, he heard a crash.

Sajin chuckled loudly as he shook his head. "I think there went your grandfather's favourite china set," he said playfully, not at all sure that was what had fallen nor if it had actually broke beyond repair or at all, really.

Byakuya sighed and shook his head as he made his way to follow the sound. "I'll be right back," he told them quickly before gracefully gliding out of the room.

Uryu giggled softly as the man left. "Actually, Sajy, his favourite dish is in the cupboard in Quen-san's room," he said factually before sitting up in Komamura's lap.

Sajin simply shook his head. "I have to go get ready for tea with Sou-Taicho. Will you behave until Byakuya gets back?" He asked, lightly digging his thumbs into the child's abdomen to tickle said boy.

Uryu burst out in a fit of uncontrollable giggles as he squirmed in Sajin's grasp. "Yes!" He cried out, playfully grabbing at the wolf's paws.

Komamura smiled as he let the boy go and stood up slowly, popping his back. "Good. I'll see you later, then," he said, giving the boy one last hug before leaving.

Uryu sighed as he looked around and smiled brightly as his gaze rested on the open oven door. Because of his cooking escapades with the twin swords, he knew the oven would be warm and so he walked towards it. He was confused as to why it wasn't as hot as it usually was, but the door was radiating warmth. Looking around furtively, he grabbed Byaka off of the counter and carefully sat on the oven door, smiling as he felt slow and steady warmth on his back and bottom. He sighed in pleasure.

Byakuya rolled his eyes as Yachiru made a dramatic spectacle of having to pick up wooden figurines she had knocked over herself. The twin swords were still standing frozen in shock against the wall. They looked absolutely terrified by what had transpired. Byakuya smiled encouragingly at the boys and knelt down in front of them, capturing their fearful attention. "It's all right. Nothing is broken. It is all right," he whispered soothingly, trying to get the boys to be more responsive so he could talk to them.

Sogyo and Kotowari slowly nodded, still very scared the raven captain would start to yell at them for running in the house and the shelf getting knocked over. "We just wanted to watch the oven warm up," Kotowari said softly, not wanting to get any of them into trouble for lying on top of everything else.

Byakuya smiled warmly as he ruffled both swords' white hair. "The oven isn't something you can play with, you could get seriously hurt. Then, Jyushiro wouldn't be happy with any of us. Now, let's all go get back to baking. Shall we?" He said softly, keeping his voice steady and soothing so they wouldn't start to panic. Upon receiving a nod from both, though Sogyo still looked like he would faint at any sudden movement, he slowly stood up, causing Sogyo to only wince.

Yachiru sighed in irritation as she realized her constant complaining was not getting her anywhere. Taking advantage of Byakuya being distracted with the twins, she quickly darted away, shouting out "KENNY!" She knew the raven had heard it, she was very loud and obnoxious about it, and he wouldn't be worried as she was finding her captain.

Byakuya fondly shook his head with a smile before gently taking the hands of the other two and leading them back to the kitchen. Upon entering, his breath caught in his throat in fear. Looking down at the two, his smile softened before letting go of them and walking cautiously to Uryu, trying not to spook the boy. "You're not supposed to sit on that," he said softly and calmly, looking down at Uryu in what he hopped was a nonthreatening look. He bit back the terror he felt from seeing his little boy sitting on the oven door.

Uryu smiled cheerfully up at Byakuya. "If not for sits, why is it made of warm?" He asked playfully, swinging his feet back and forth shyly as he bit at a finger nail.

Byakuya chuckled softly, relieved Uryu was not hurt, as he leaned down and picked the boy up. "You could get hurt," he said seriously, putting a hand on the back of the boy's head and pulling him down to nuzzle into his neck. "You could get severely burnt and bloody and blistered from the heat of the oven. Plus, we don't want Uryu Pie for dinner," he remarked with a smirk, reaching to a nearby cookie jar.

Uryu nodded against the man's chest as he was handed a cookie, snuggling into Byakuya to feel his heartbeat. "I wanna nap," he whispered tiredly, nibbling on his food.

Byakuya softly chuckled as Sogyo and Kotowari murmured their agreements as they, too, received a chocolate chip cookie. "All right, let's go nap," he whispered as he put the bread dough on the oven door to rise. He walked with them toward his room, acknowledging to himself that he, too, could use a break.

~^BLEACH^~

Hours later, Ulquiorra found himself watching Uryu playing quietly with Byakuya. They were the only two around as the twin zanpakuto had been called to return to their master for a short training session just a few minutes prior to make sure the pale thirteenth captain's brain hadn't suffered any loss of motor function from another, but short, bout of illness. He smiled as he remembered the way the young boy had attended to the man. The boy had done many things, but his personal favourite to watch was the way the boy had brushed the thirteenth captain's long white hair while he was telling stories of his misadventures he and the twin manifested zanpakuto had taken with Yachiru, and sometimes Toshiro, over the last few weeks. He loved how no one had any qualms over the boy telling stories over and over again; and each time, Ulquiorra himself loved hearing the tales, finding they never got old.

Ulquiorra smiled fondly as Uryu happily chased after a ball the two ravens were rolling back and forth, Byaka laying next to Byakuya. The boy found great pleasure in letting the ball roll past him and chasing after it, giggling wildly each time. The fourth espada couldn't help but gasp as the laughing child ran forehead first into a nearby table top and fall back onto his rear. He knew the boy wasn't hurt in the slightest and that he would shake himself off before crawling under the table to get the ball, but he still worried over the boy running into such a hard surface.

Byakuya stood up immediately and hurried to Uryu, scooping him up in his arms and cradling him against his chest, sitting back on the hard floor as he looked the boy over. He checked the red forehead and bright eyes and pale chin and felt along his thin arms and small shoulders.

Uryu was giggling as the worried Byakuya looked him over, copying the Kuchiki's actions with his own tiny exploring hands. He knew Byakuya was worried, but he couldn't help but mimic the man in good humor. "I izes okays," he said playfully, no longer cuddling into Byakuya's chest as he tried to look at his ears and head. He teasingly kept ducking and nuzzling into the man's arm and neck as he waited to get an okay so they could continue playing as they had been. At least to play something other than doctor as he found the game would turn into something serious the moment anything was deemed not right by the other raven.

Byakuya shook his head to clear it from panic before he felt down Uryu's back, making absolute sure he hadn't bruised or hurt himself too much. He deftly maneuvered to try to continue feeling the boy's backs for bumps or tender points as Uryu squirmed and playfully nipped at him.

Uryu giggled as he snuck a lick to Byakuya's nose, causing the man to unexpectedly burst out laughing. "I saysed I'ma okey-donkey, I izes okays," he whispered loudly, looking honestly into the man's eyes. He received a small smile, causing him to smile broadly, happy the man was at least pretending to believe him. They stayed like that for a couple moments before the boy sighed happily. "Yous is so muches pretties," he said softly, resting his forehead against Byakuya's.

Byakuya's own smile widened as he gently pressed his soft lips to the boy's reddened forehead and reset his forehead on the boy's. "You are very pretty, too, my little Ury," he softly replied, lovingly brushing his nose against the child's much smaller one in an Eskimo kiss-like fashion.

Uryu lightly giggled and shook his head energetically. "Nots as pretties asez yous is, Bya," he whispered, his smile turning more serious.

Byakuya laughed softly as he pulled away from the boy and reached up, taking his Kenseikan out of his long black hair. He gently secured the headpiece in Uryu's hair. He smiled down at the boy and took a moment to enjoy looking at the stark contrast of white to black before he slowly smoothed out the boy's soft raven hair and took off his delicate white scarf. He carefully wrapped it around Uryu, even though it was far too big for the youngster. He gave another quick warm smile to the boy and hugged him close, taking delight from the feeling of holding his young child close. "Now you are," he whispered softly, snuggling the boy.

Uryu giggled as he nuzzled into the man's neck. "Thank you, Bya-Pa," he whispered, letting the steady rhythm of the man's heartbeat to lull him to sleep.

Byakuya felt tears slipping down his cheeks. "I love you," he whispered heart-brokenly, feeling pain blossom in his chest. It was the first time the boy had referred to him as anything resembling any sort of father figure. He felt love and feelings of accomplishment flood his being as he reflected on that little two lettered addition. He hurt from the rush of feelings, but it also hurt that it took him so long to win that little bit of lee-way. He held the boy closer, hugging him as tight as possible.

As evening overtook the whole of the Seireitei, Jyushiro and Shunsui, made their way to the Kuchiki Estate. When they were nearly there, they found Sajin and Kenpachi walking the same way, bickering. "Good evening, Captains," Jyushiro cried out happily, waving enthusiastically.

Sajin and Kenpachi stopped suddenly and turned to look at the approaching couple. "Hello, Ukitake, Kyouraku," Sajin said, smiling pleasantly at the men.

Shunsui chuckled as he draped an arm over Jyushiro's shoulders. "We're heading to the sleepover, where are you two headed?" He asked, squeezing his lover's shoulders with one hand and tipping his hat with the other.

Kenpachi laughed as he shook his head. "That's where we are headed," he said, sticking a foot out to try to catch Komamura unawares and unprepared to trip him. He winced as a foot stepped onto his own, digging in almost enough to bruise. He whipped his head around to look at the smirking, and untripped, wolf captain.

Komamura smiled as he lifted his foot and continued walking, pretending not to hear the indignant captain swear at him.

Jyushiro smiled as he walked with Komamura, leaving Shunsui to stand and talk with Kenpachi. "Are you excited?" He asked the seventh captain, almost unable to stop himself from skipping with joy.

Sajin smiled at the white-haired captain. "Yes, I am. I think it will be interesting to see how our noble captain handles having four children running around when just a while back he was alone with his servants," he replied with a hint of a smirk. He really did want to see how the man handled the children, but he was more excited to see Uryu.

Jyushiro chuckled softly. "Yachiru and Sogyo no Kotowari are no children. They look like it and act like it, but really they aren't. Yachiru lost her childhood a long time ago and Sogyo no Kotowari are really just manifested swords. And Uryu, well, he isn't supposed to be a child if you recall," he said simply, smiling a bit to offset the sting to his truthful words.

Sajin sighed and his smile faded. "Yeah, but he lost his memory and has the body of a child. He doesn't know of hollows or the way of war. He is innocent," he said forlornly, looking off into the distance.

Jyushiro nodded. "He won't ever get his memory back, will he?" He whispered, looking down as they walked.

"No, he won't," a voice behind them said.

Jyushiro and Sajin jumped slightly and stopped, turning to look behind them.

There stood Mayuri and Unohana, both looking like they had bad news.

Sajin cleared his throat. "What are you doing here?" He asked, feeling dread creep up his spine.

Mayuri's expression turned grave as he looked away. He didn't want to admit what they had found, didn't want to admit he had potentially done severe damage to the little boy.

Unohana's expression was somber as she stepped up to them. "We may have done something wrong," she said slowly.
