Chapter 52: Pick A Card

A/n: I'm sorry it took so long for this update I had some major writers block, thank you "Me A Genius" I really liked the suggestion for this chapter

Paige's Pov-

I had eventually managed to make contact with Sydney. I had told her I needed someplace to put Mona since the jail wasn't an option anymore and I couldn't put her in the Batcave since then she'd figure out who I was.

Sydney told me that we could hide Mona in a basement at a bar that had closed down when A took over the town, the placed had belonged to her father and when A took over Rosewood her henchmen didn't waste any time drinking or steeling all bottles of alcohol. The place was smashed but the basement was intact and sound isolated so Mona could scream how much she wanted and no one would hear her.

I was now on my way back to the mansion and my sweet Emily. I had activated the camouflage mode on the stealth bike so no one could see me now. I kept driving until I was back inside the Batcave. I changed out of my bat suite and into a t-shirt and some boxers, Emily was probably asleep so when I got back upstairs I sneaked up the stairs as quietly as I could.

Once I got to my room I saw that Emily was laying on the bed and there was a coffee stain on her t-shirt and there was a coffee cup on the ground.

As I noticed that Emily was lying on top of the covers I figured out that she had tried to stay up for me. It was a really nice gesture even though she'd fallen asleep.

I walked up to her and carefully removed her coffee stained t-shirt without waking her up. She was wearing a black bra underneath her t-shirt and I got a bit turned on when I undressed her, but I calmed myself down since I was sure Emily would hate it if she'd woke up and seen me drool over her.

I gently moved Emily under the cover and then I crawled next to her. I gently kissed the top of her head as I tuned the light off.

Goodnight Em, I'll see you tomorrow.

The next morning:

I woke up feeling Emily spoon me, I pretended to still be asleep since I liked the comfort from Emily, I knew she was awake since I felt her hand stroking my back. Emily kept stroking my back and it felt nice, I really liked it.

I felt Emily leaning in close towards my ear and I felt her breathing as she moved in close to me. "Paige, I know you're awake." She whispered into my ear.

"What gave it away" I asked.

"You did, just now." Emily said and kissed my cheek.

Emily got out of bed in just her bra and boxers, she looked sexy as hell. "Paige, have you seen my t-shirt?" She asked as she looked for the coffee stained t-shirt I had removed from her.

"I prefer you without." I answered and smiled sheepishly.

She looked at me and laugh and after a few seconds I started to laugh too.

Emily went to the closet and took out one of my t-shirts. "I'll borrow this." She said and put the t-shirt on.

"It suites you." I said and walked up behind her and placed my hands on her waist, I placed my head on her shoulder and whispered "You look sexy."

"Paige, I'll miss school." Emily giggled.

"I'm fine with that." I answered and kissed her cheek.

Emily giggled but then she removed my hands. "I'm sorry Paige, but if my mom hears from school that I'm not there she'd freak out." Emily said.

"Ok, maybe some other time." I said.

"You know I wasn't worried about you last night, when you had to leave." Emily said all of a sudden.

"Why weren't you worried?" I said and raised an eyebrow.

"Because I knew you'd come back." Emily answered.

We both eventually got dressed and went downstairs to see if we could find something to have for breakfast.

After we checked the kitchen we did find some bread, milk and cheese that we shared.

"You really need to buy some groceries." Emily said.

"Yeah, I guess I'll try to be anonymous and get buy some food." I answered.

"Like a trench coat and sun glasses?" Emily joked.

"I don't think I'll dress like that." I laugh.

We kept eating and then Emily had to leave for school. Once she had left I went to my phone and called Sydney.

"Hello?" Sydney answered.

"It's me." I answered.

"I've asked Mona some questions but she refuses to answer, but it's safe to say that she has no idea where she is." Sydney said.

"I'll come over tonight and ask her some questions personally, but first there is something I need to ask you… can you buy some groceries if I transfer you the money?"

Emily's Pov-

I was in English class with Aria, Hanna and Spencer. Ezra was talking about something that I wasn't really paying any attention to, but most students didn't so he could hardly notice who was and who wasn't listening.

Before class Hanna was complaining that she had to be at school, she wished that A would have destroyed the school when she took over the town.

I'm almost surprised she hadn't dropped out of school because she was pregnant.

Ezra dropped some very heavy books on his desk, it made a large noise that made almost everyone (including me) jumping in their seats.

"I know it's hard to pay any attention to my classes at a daily basis and that you are too worried about everything to even care about listening to me, but just know that this isn't the end, one day this will be over and back to the way things were." He said and the students seemed to really take in what he said.

I know that what he said was right, now when Paige was back there was a chance that A would be defeated and this'd be over. I only wished that she was here now, it sucked to be apart from her.

After class me, Aria, Hanna and Spencer sat down at a lunch table, Hanna was rubbing her stomach thinking about her baby.

"How was your date with Paige?" Aria asked.

"It was great, I had such amazing time with her." I answered.

"Too bad the date was cut short." Spencer said.

"I saw her fighting Mona last night." Spencer continued.

"Yeah, that did suck, but I couldn't as Paige to let people die just so she could stay a few extra minutes with me." I said.

"I can see you're happy now when your girlfriend is back." I heard a voice coming from behind me, when I turned around I saw Caleb coming holding two trays with food.

"Here you go my lady." He said and handed one tray to Hanna and sat down next to her.

"Are you really thinking about going into collage now?" Aria said looking at a magazine Spencer was reading.

"Your boyfriend did say that one day this A thing will be over and then I'll hopefully be at a good collage." Spencer answered.

"Odd thing to think about during times like these." Aria said.

"Well, you've got to start planning your future sometime, I mean we don't all have a huge account and a guaranteed C.E.O possession a million dollar family company." Spencer said referring to Paige and I kicked her from under the table.

"Her parents died, she spends every night out risking her life to keep this town safe and you say that about her?" I hissed at Spencer.

"I'm terribly sorry, I didn't meant it like that." Spencer quickly answered.

"It's just that I'd like to get into a collage so badly and I'm sure I'm not the only one who would plan on going to collage if things were different." Spencer said.

"You know, before I met you I thought about going into collage at Duke." Caleb said as he helped Hanna opening her soda can.

"Hmm, Duke. It's not bad. It's a little obnoxious but in a cute way. Aww little Duke." Hanna said while she smiled and once again placed her hand on her stomach.

"Are we thinking of baby names?" Caleb said sounding both surprised and confused.

"You haven't?" Hanna said and looked at him.

"No… I have, no I have." Caleb quickly answered.

"Ok, say one of the names you've figured out." Hanna said looking suspicious at Caleb.

Caleb scratched the back of his head and said "Hanna… junior." While he smiles sheepishly.

Hanna smiled and punched his arm "Get out of here you oddball."

I just chuckled and continued to eat my lunch.

"So Em, do you have any plans for tonight?" Spencer asked me.

"No, I'm going to be with my mom tonight." I answered.

"That's not as exciting as I thought you'd be doing, being the girlfriend to a hero and all." Hanna said.

"If I spend every night with Paige my mom will begin to suspect things and assume I'm doing something bad" I answered.

"You think Paige will agree to that?" Spencer asked.

"I sent Paige a text before class and she said it was cool." I said and then I started to eat my lunch hoping I wouldn't get bombarded with more questions.

Paige's Pov-

That night:

I met Sydney in her family's bar, I was wearing my bat suite since I was going to interrogate Mona.

"Has she said anything?" I asked Sydney.

"She has only avoided what I asked, but she did get worried when she dropped this" Sydney said and handed me a ring. It was green and had a shining stone in the middle.

"I'll analyze this when I'm back at the Batcave." I said and put the ring in one of the pockets of my belt.

Then I went to the basement to see if Mona was going to answer any questions.

I walked into the room where she was chained to a chair, she was smiling like a lunatic when I entered.

"You have no idea how screwed you are." She said.

"I don't care what you think you can do." I answered and walked up to her.

"You should be worried, when The Joker's plan starts then I'll be free." She said smiling.

"And if I stop him first, who will save both of you then, the only reason A would come for either one of you would be to make sure you won't talk." I said and Mona's smug look started to fade.

"If you ever fight A again she'll kill you." Mona said trying to scare me.

"Where is she?" I asked.

"Wouldn't you want to know?" Mona answered.

"ANSWERE ME!" I shouted.

"Don't worry, A will return and when she does she'll kill you." Mona said.

"She has tried to kill me several times and I'm still here." I said and Mona started to laugh hysterically. I left since she'd lose her grip on reality if I'd stay longer.

"How did it go?" Sydney asked.

"She didn't answer anything, I had to leave before she lost her mind." I answered.

"We'll just wait for a few day then you can try again." Sydney said.

"I guess so, thanks for fixing the food for me." I said.

"No problem, but I'm not an errant girl, don't make it a habit." Sydney said.

"It's only until I've taken care of A's capturing over the town." I answered and left.

I drove home on my stealth bike, Sydney had bought and left the groceries at my place and I felt a big hungry as I drove home.

As I drove I suddenly spot something, it was The Joker. I didn't expected to see him at all.

He was alone but he didn't seemed worried, suddenly he looked my way and started to wave at me.

I confusingly got of the stealth bike and walked up to him.

"Hey if it isn't the bat." He said as I walked up to him, I was careful since this could be an ambush.

"What do you want?" I asked.

"I want what every teen boy want, lots of money, a hot girlfriend, lose the virginity and get a nice car." He answered and laugh.

"I don't have time for tricks." I said.

"Well, that's too bad since I got a trick for you right here." He said and held up three cards.

"Pick ant one." He said smiling like a maniac.

"Why should I?" I asked and he just laughed and turned the cards, on the other side of the cards there was pictures of three different people.

"I kidnapped those guys earlier today." He said and then when I got a better look at the cards, on the first card it was a pic of Ezra, on the second it was a pic of Hanna and on the thired it was a pic of Emily.

"Pic one" the Joker said and laughed.

"Why are you making me pick?" I asked.

"They are all on random places in the city and I've strapped a bomb on each one of them and in ten minutes they will all explode and you can only save one person, who will it be?" he said and then he threw a smoke pellet on the ground and one the smoke cleared he was gone.

I saw a not on the ground that was handwritten, it said "Nine minutes and thirty seconds left Bats, better hurry"
