Chapter 6: First Fight
April peeked into the dojo. "Um… guys?" Leo and Raph paused their sparring match to glance at her.
"What is it April?"
"Have you seen Fallyn?" Raph smirked, pointing behind the redhead. She turned to see the amused face of her older sister. "AAAAAAAHHHHHH!" April jumped back, stumbling over her feet. She finally stopped rolling when she bumped into Leo's legs.
Raph's body was literally shaking from his attempts to conceal his laughter. Leo was equally amused, but he hid it better. Fallyn, on the other hand, shamelessly let her laughter rack her body. Her face was wet with tears as she collapsed to her knees, her hands clutching her sides.
"Your reactions get better all the time, sis!" Gasping, Fallyn tried to stand. Raph walked over, helping her up. Leo helped April, who was still pressed against his legs. She nodded at him before glaring at her sister. Motioning with her hand for Raph to move, she gathered herself to jump.
He got out of the way just in time. April sprang at Fallyn, fully intending to knock the older girl out of the dojo. However, the whitette ducked, her legs sliding effortlessly into a middle split. Just before April crashed through the wall, Fallyn grabbed her left foot.
"Whoa!" Fallyn rose from her split, still holding April's foot. In order to prevent herself from falling on her face, April placed her hands on the ground. She glared up at her sister's amused face.
"What's up?" April huffed, resolutely not looking at Fallyn. In response, her foot was released, making the redhead collapse.
"Oof!" April rolled off her back, brushing off her pants as she stood. "I was wondering if Aunt Kate had called you." Fallyn tilted her head.
"How would she call me when I left my phone at home?"
"True." Fallyn narrowed her eyes at her sister.
"Why were you asking?" April shrugged.
"Because I haven't heard from her, and its past lunchtime." Fallyn's eyes widened. She laid a hand on April's shoulder.
"Stay here. I'll go home and see what's up. If I'm not back in an hour, don't go home." Fallyn trotted out of the dojo, flipping over the turn-dials. Leo and Raph walked up to April.
"What's wrong?" April shook her head.
"I don't know. Our aunt never lets us miss a meal, whether it's packed or at home. The fact that she hasn't called to check in on us makes me worried." The girl sighed, crossing her arms over her chest. "I just hope it's nothing serious." Raph shrugged, trying to make the redhead feel better.
"Maybe she just overslept or something." April hummed absentmindedly.
"Maybe."

Fallyn ran along the rooftops, her heart pounding in her chest. 'Why didn't Aunt Kate call? She never lets us miss a meal. Hell, she would have-' Fallyn froze, her feet skidding from the sudden stop. 'She would have come and get us if she couldn't reach us by phone.' Fallyn resumed her path with renewed strength.
'Please still be home. Please.' The whitette jumped across an alleyway, not even bothering to absorb the impact. She simply used the momentum to propel her forward. A full twenty-five minutes had passed by the time she reached her aunt's condo. Jumping down the fire escape, Fallyn walked around to the front door. Lifting her fist, she rapped on the door.
"Aunt Kate? You home?" Golden eyes narrowed at the lack of response. Walking back into the alley, Fallyn propelled herself up the wall, swinging into the fire escape. She flipped up onto the roof, making her way to the back of the building.
Her aunt's bedroom had a skylight, a handy way to ensure she was still there. Kate was a woman of few but predictable habits: she would be in her room, the kitchen, or out shopping. The fact that she didn't answer the door meant Kate was either in her room or out. If she was doing the latter, then Fallyn would have a problem.
'Find out what's going on, and then decide whether or not to freak out.' The house faced north exactly, so, by being on the east, Fallyn prevented her shadow from going into her aunt's room. She had done so on many accounts when she was younger, ensuring no one would see her sneak out at night. Not that she would ever admit to it. Silently stepping to the left side of the window, Fallyn peeked in, breathing a sigh of relief at the sight.
Her aunt was passed out on her bed. From the clutter, it seemed she had attempted to make a craft of some sort. Chuckling softly, Fallyn quickly wrote a note. Opening the window, she silently landed next to her sleeping aunt, placed the note on her bedside table, and left.

April gasped at the news alert. She looked around, smiling slightly when she saw Leo and Raph playing a video game. She would have talked to Donnie, but he was holed up in his lab. Mikey was passed out in the guys' tire swing, but he was a little too slow on the uptake for April's liking.
"Hey guys! Check out this post I got." Raph glanced at her.
"Hang on April. I just got to destroy Lamenardo." He turned his attention back to the game. He watched, waiting for an opening. 'Got it!' Raph slammed his hand down on the button, shooting the electronic puck through Leo's player and into his goal.
Leo groaned as Raph did his victory dance. "Ha!" Smiling while biting his bottom lip, Raphael rested his arm on Leo's shoulder. Just before punching him in the jaw. Leonardo rubbed his head as he stood up. He sat down next to Raph, slapping his younger brother's head in retaliation. Smirking, he turned his attention to April.
"I set up a message board to collect unusual sightings around New York. People send in pics, videos. I also get some stuff that may help us track the Kraang and find my dad. Like this video of a gas explosion." She zoomed in on a portion of the video, enhancing the quality. A familiar shape showed up.
"A Kraang droid." Leo observed.
"WHERE!?" Mikey fell out of the tire swing, landing in the water underneath. Leo looked back at Raphael and April.
"We'll check it out tonight."
"Why not now?"
"Because it's daytime. We can't let anyone see us." April shut her laptop, probably with more force than necessary.
"Well I can." She stood up, making her way to the front. Leo leapt up after her.
"April, think about this. It could be dangerous. Why don't you wait till-"
"You know what else could be dangerous? Standing between me and my father." April glared at the turtle. He held up his hands in surrender, backing out of her way.
"Kay." Raph smirked as April walked out.
"Wonder where she gets it." Leo tilted his head in confusion.
"Gets what?"
"The glare." Raph rolled his eyes at Leo's clueless expression. "Don't tell me you missed the number Fallyn gave Donnie that night."
"Oh. Right." Leo's eyebrows furrowed in worry. "Speaking of her, shouldn't she be back by now?"
~ *.* ~
'Damn. I'm running late.' Fallyn leapt across an alleyway, rolling as she landed on top of a warehouse. She gathered herself to spring when she heard something. Her ears twitched, trying to triangulate the origin. She growled in her throat when she recognized it.
'Kraang droid. Just one by the sound of it.' Creeping over to the edge of the roof, Fallyn's eyes narrowed. The street was abandoned, save for an undisguised Kraang droid. 'What the hell is going on?' She started to move towards the fire escape when footsteps caught her attention. Glancing out of the corner of her eye, Fallyn saw a familiar head of reddish-orange hair duck behind some crates.
'April!?' Fallyn felt a snarl building. 'I told you to stay with the guys!' Her fingers twitched, a lengthening sensation tingling on her fingertips. Quickly calming herself, she looked down, mentally groaning when she saw her fingernails had sharpened to points.
'Well… no going back now.' Fallyn swung down, watching as her sister followed the droid into the warehouse. Waiting thirty seconds, Fallyn crept down the side of the building, utilizing her claws. She peeked in through a window, narrowing her eyes when she didn't see April. Deciding that pinpointing her exact location wasn't too important at the moment, Fallyn concentrated on the sounds inside.
"Is that which is the unstable mutagen ready for using in the experiment that Kraang is being ready to begin?"
"The unstable mutagen will be tomorrow unleashing in the water supply." The cement wall cracked as Fallyn's fingers clenched. "Many infected humans will mutation. This is being a good way to perfect the mutagen to the point of perfection." Fallyn growled, the sound passing her teeth.
'Like hell I'm letting that happen.' A clanging startled the girl. Fallyn's heart froze as she heard April's voice.
"Think ninja. Think ninja."
'You stupid girl!' April gasped excitedly. Unfortunately, the Kraang heard it as well as Fallyn. It began walking towards April's hiding place. Thinking fast, Fallyn threw some pieces of plaster at the opposite window. Smirking, she waited till the droid was a few feet away to hit the window she was currently looking in. Fallyn then flipped up to the fire escape.
No sooner had she done that when a clang of metal made her wince. 'Yeesh. Sometimes having super hearing isn't so super.' Another clang soon followed, this accompanied with a Kraang droid flying out the window. 'Nice swing, sis.' Realizing there would be a lot of explaining to so should she be found, Fallyn leapt from the warehouse roof to the apartment next to it. She smiled when she recognized the suburb she was currently in.
'Alright. Made sure Aunt Kate was okay, helped keep April safe, and now I'll have a viable excuse for being late back to the lair. I am so good.'
複
Fallyn walked into the lair, holding several pizza boxes. She stepped through the turn-dials, smiling. "Hey-o!"
"Fallyn!" She jumped, a few of the boxes falling off the top. Someone caught them. "You're back!" Fallyn glanced gratefully at Donnie.
"Thanks. Sorry for being late. The shop was busy." The two walked to the living room, setting the pizza on the seat. Fallyn looked around, faking ignorance. "Where's April?" Donnie stiffened.
"Um… she's uh… out." Fallyn frowned.
"I told her to stay here." The purple-masked turtle sighed, backing up.
"Leo tried to stop her, but she apparently has your glare." Fallyn chuckled.
"She's a good student." Fallyn reclined on the couch, biting into a slice of pepperoni pizza. "Speaking of him, where is he? And everyone else for that matter." She glanced over her shoulder. "I usually have to dodge Mikey as he tries to get to the pizza."
"They're out on patrol."
"So why aren't you? And what's with the headset?" He smiled, patting the spot next to him.
"Come and see for yourself." Picking up two boxes, Fallyn placed one next to her while giving the other to Donatello. Settling down, she looked at the TV screen.
"What's with the video game, Don?" He chuckled.
"Oh it's no video game. It's my newest invention: Metalhead!" Fallyn quirked an eyebrow.
"Metalhead?"
"Mikey's name. Anyways, I reverse engineered it from a Kraang droid I managed to salvage from our fight last night. Or this morning, I guess it was." Fallyn smirked.
"Cool. So how does it work?"
"This remote allows me to control Metalhead from home. The headset is so I can talk to the guys." Fallyn humphed in response.
"Wow. I'm impressed." Donatello's eyes bulged. "And yes, I openly admitted it. Don't get used to it." The girl finished her slice of pizza, closing the box. "So… Metalhead is out with the guys right now, huh?"
"Yeah." He smirked. "You want to surprise them, don't you?"
"No. I want to scare the shells off of them for letting my sister leave before I got back." Donnie snickered.
"They're in the east side. Close to your old house, actually." Fallyn nodded, standing up.
"Thanks Don." She smirked back at him. "I can't wait to see their reactions."
"Me neither. This is going to be epic!"
複
Fallyn winced as Metalhead crashed onto the roof. The contraption ran across the asphalt-covered surface, stopping in front of the others. Steam blew out of its ears. 'Yeah. Real stealthy, Don.'
"Should we double back? I think there's a car alarm we didn't set off." Fallyn snickered at Leo's sarcasm.
'Didn't think Blue had it in him.'
Raph shrugged. "I kind of like it." He started patting the metal turtle's head. "It goes nicely with all the sirens and cries for help."
"Oh come on. You guys are just jealous, cause you're out there in the cold, and I'm here eating the pizza that Fallyn brought." It took all of the girl's self-control to not burst out laughing at the living turtles' faces.
"WHAT!?" Mikey started wailing.
"No! Fresh pizza!" He collapsed on Leo's shoulder. "Why cruel world why?!" A snicker came through the radio.
"Told you. Jealous!" Donnie drew out jealous in a sing song manner.
"Hello?" Fallyn froze at the soft voice.
"Guys quiet! Someone's coming!" The brothers crouched. Metalhead followed suit, though it was significantly louder. Peeking over the edge, Leo saw who it was. "April!" They jumped down, surprising the girl.
"Guys! I was just looking for you!" A whistling sound came from above their heads. April flinched back as Metalhead crashed into a dumpster, causing it to fall over. It clanked around inside for about eight seconds before kicking open the top. It stepped out, looking up at April.
"Still, it's stealthier than the real Donatello." April stared at the contraption.
"What, the heck, is that?"
"It's Donnie's latest brilliant creation: Metalhead." Mikey appeared at its side.
"Catchy name huh? My idea." Fallyn rolled her eyes, jumping down behind the turtles. She smirked when none heard her. Deciding to wait, she hung back in the shadows, leaning up against the graffiti decorated wall.
"Oh, sorry April!" Fallyn's whole body recoiled as Donnie's brilliant creation decided to deafen all of them with its megaphone. Her ears flattened against her head, her hands adding to the pressure. "I'm still getting used to the controls. Oops!" The metal jaw shut. "Megaphone button got stuck."
Fallyn mentally groaned, shaking her head to get rid of the ringing. Her ears flickered back and forth, slowly regaining hearing. Meanwhile, April turned to the ninjas. "Guys! We got to do something! The Kraang are going to poison the city's water supply with mutagen!"
"The whole city will become a disaster area!"
"There'll be mutants everywhere!" Mikey hugged Metalhead.
"Wow! Think of all the friends we could make!" He sighed at the glares. "Excuse me for being a glass-half-full kind of guy."
"I agree. Something needs to be done." Everyone screamed at Fallyn's voice, the turtles unsheathing their weapons. The girl walked out of the shadows, her smirk twitching in amusement. Metalhead exchanged a glance with her before it and her burst out laughing. Well, Donnie started laughing. The mic just picked up on it.
"I told you their reactions would be epic!" Fallyn high-fived the robot.
"I know right! Raph's scream was adorable!" She threw her head back as her musical laugh filled the air. "He sounded like a girl!"
Raph's hands clenched around his sai hilts. "I do not!" His voice cracked, sending his brother and friend into another fit. The laughter was contagious, and pretty soon everyone was chuckling.
Regaining control of herself, Fallyn straightened. "Anyways, the Kraang do need to be stopped. Do any of you know where they are?" April nodded.
"I do." She shrunk under her sister's glare. "I know, I know. I left the lair while you were gone. But I-" Fallyn's raised hand stopped her. Tense seconds passed before the elder girl sighed.
"I'll let it slide this one time. But only because you came back safe, and you found this out. However, if you ever leave the lair again without someone with you…" April nodded.
"I won't. I promise." Fallyn huffed, kneeling.
"Good. Now, where were the Kraang?" April climbed onto her sister's back, looping her arms around the whitette's shoulders.
"The abandoned warehouse of Fifth. Across from the old diner." Fallyn nodded.
"Okay. You can come with, but you will not step foot in that warehouse. The guys and I will take care of the Kraang. Understood?"
"Yeah."
"Then let's go." The turtles began to run after the sisters. Metalhead turned, following.
"Yeah! The Kraang don't stand a chance!" Leo's outstretched hand stopped the robot. "What?"
"Donnie. I need you to hang back. Metalhead is just too clumsy. It'll get in our way."
"Clumsy!?" Metalhead's arms flung out, knocking over two trashcans. Glass, among other things, broke and spilled out everywhere. Fallyn resisted the urge to slap her forehead. "I did that on purpose to emphasize my point."
"You're not coming Donnie." The boys ran off down the street.
"But you can protect April. Someone needs to stay with her." Metalhead nodded. Fallyn smiled slightly, before turning and rejoining the other ninjas. They were waiting on top a garage roof.
"I put Metalhead on guard duty." Leo nodded.
"Let's go."
複
Fallyn crouched next to Raph on a support beam. "Looks like a Kraang picnic down there." Raph smirked at her.
"Ready to bash some bots?"
"Destroy some droids?"
"Clean some closets?" The other ninjas stared at Mikey. "I meant to say crush some Kraang?" Fallyn rolled her eyes, revealing her odachi. She smirked at Raph's surprised expression.
"Let's go." She jumped off the beam, landing on a droid's shoulders. As it crumbled, she slashed the one in front of it down the middle, cutting it and the Kraang clean through.
"Booyahkasha!" Mikey dropped on two Kraang, punching them into oblivion. As Raph dragged him off, he kicked them a couple times for extra measure. He glared at his red-masked brother, but Raph ignored him.
Leo glanced out at the main room from behind a crate. Fallyn rested her hand on his shell, looking over his head. Leo tried to ignore the shivers he felt from where her hand touched him, though it was in no way connected to her temperature. The warmth was seeping into him. It took all of his self-control to not purr.
He mentally shook himself. 'Focus Leo! There's no time for… whatever that is!' Leo rolled out from the crate, stopping behind a barrel. His brothers and Fallyn followed him. They had just come to a stop when a clank startled them.
One of the Kraang droids from before made some noises, pointing at them. It promptly collapsed afterwards. Turning back around, the ninjas saw dozens of blasters trained on them. Screaming, the guys ducked behind some more barrels.
Fallyn rolled her eyes. "Come on guys! You can do better than that!" She flipped out, slicing three droids in one sweep of her odachi. "I've already got five!"
Raph's head popped up. "No way I'm letting a newbie show me up!" Yelling, he jumped out from his bunker, brandishing his sais. He jabbed two, smirking. It soon disappeared though, when a Kraang cannon came into view. He blanched when he saw it preparing to fire. On Fallyn.
Her back was turned to it as she was fighting off three other droids. "Fallyn! Behind you!" Fallyn didn't move. Just before the blast hit her, she jumped out of the way. The shot obliterated the droids she was fighting. Landing, she draped her sword over her shoulders, turning to face Raph.
"What?" He just gaped at her.
'First that sword appears out of nowhere, and then she is able to dodge a blast from that thing? She's…' He watched her effortlessly take down more droids. 'She's not normal. For a human, at least.' Before he could dwell on it any longer, Mikey's panicked yell demanded his attention.
"They're everywhere! Run!" The Kraang fired the cannon again. This shot went through the roof.
Raph rejoined his brothers, only to get shot at more. Fallyn ran up behind them, deflecting a blast back at the Kraang. "Leo!" The leader hand-sprung behind some more crates. "We're running out of room!" Fallyn skidded next to him, sheathing her odachi. The leader groaned.
"We're trapped!"
"Or maybe they're the ones who are trapped. Hm?" Mikey peeked out from behind his barrel, ducking the shot fired at his head. "No. It's us!"
The sound of breaking glass prompted their attention. Looking up, they saw Metalhead crash through the skylight. Fallyn gaped.
"What are you doing!?"
"What is wrong with your arms!?" She glared at Leo.
"My hands… aren't on my hips?"
"No!" The girl banged her head on a crate while Raph facepalmed.
"Sorry! Forgot to press B." Metalhead's arms swung around to plant its hands on its side. The others watched as the Kraang shot at the robot, but didn't even scratch it.
"Now it's my turn!" Metalhead's left hand vanished, being replaced with a laser gun. "Eat hot laser!" Donnie began shooting all of the Kraang. "Hahaha! Want some of this!"
"Hey Raph! How does it feel to be shown up by a toaster?" Fallyn smirked at the quip, earning a glare from Raphael. She just shrugged nonchalantly.
"Burn." Donnie chuckled.
"Yeah. I thought that was a good one." Mikey shook his head, pointing behind Metalhead.
"No. Burn!"
"Oh, right!" Turning, Metalhead unleashed fire on the Kraang. Fallyn's fingers twitched at the familiar sight.
'No way. If the Kraang realize I'm still alive…' Raph pulled Fallyn back just before Metalhead's laser blasted the wall. He snapped his fingers in front of her face while his brothers told off Donnie.
"Fallyn! Hey!" The girl shook her head.
"What!? What?" Raph cupped her face.
"Are you alright? You nearly got shot!" Fallyn blinked several times.
"What? When!?" Raph's jaw loosed slightly at her confused stare.
'She didn't notice! How could she not notice!?' He let her sit up, though his eyes followed every move she made. 'What could she have been thinking about that would cause her zone out like that?' He didn't get a chance to ask.
"Watch out!" He grunted when Fallyn tackled him as an explosion ripped across the room. Raph instinctively wrapped his arms around Fallyn's waist. When they stopped moving, he was on top, looking down at her. This close, he was able to see just how flawless her skin was. Not even a freckle. Her body was radiating warmth, permeating his body.
'Huh. I guess the rest of her really is that warm.' He mentally shook himself. 'Stop thinking like that!' He sincerely hoped he wasn't blushing.
Thankfully, Fallyn wasn't looking at him. Her gaze was directed back the way they had come. Moving off of her, Raph helped her into a sitting position. That done, he looked in the same direction.
Metalhead stood there. The only difference was the Kraang on top it's head. It began to stomp towards them. "The ones that which are called turtles will now be called turtles that are-" the metal jaw dropped as the Kraang accessed the megaphone. "Destroyed."
Mikey sighed in relief. "I was really afraid at the beginning of the sentence, but then I sort of just lost interest towards-" He looked up to see Metalhead's laser gun trained on his face. "Okay! I'm afraid again."
He screamed as the gun began firing at him. "Mikey!" Fallyn tackled him like she had Raph, the duo rolling behind some crates. She looked down at him. "You okay?"
He nodded. "Uh-huh. Let's get that robot!" Fallyn nodded. Moving, she offered him a hand.
"Fallyn? Fallyn! Are you there!?" The girl froze.
"Uh… you go ahead, Mikey. I'm going to see if I can find something to shut it down with." The turtle nodded.
"Okay!" He ran out, attacking the drone with his brothers. Fallyn ducked back down.
"April?" Fallyn could hear April's sigh through their link.
"You're okay! What's going on?" The kunochi peeked out from behind the crates.
"Donnie lost control of Metalhead. A Kraang took it over, and now it's trying to waste us."
"What!? Hang on! I'm coming do-"
"Like hell you are! Just stay up on the roof. We can handle this."
"But–"
"Stay. Put. I'll be fine. And I'll bring the guys back in one piece."
"Alright. Oh, and Fallyn?"
"Hm?"
"You're about to get backup." Fallyn blinked a couple times.
'What did she mean by that?' Shaking her head, the girl joined the fight.
"Now Kraang will destroy you. Which one wants to be first to be destroyed by Kraang?"
"ME!" The teens looked up to see Donatello jump through the same skylight his drone had. He landed in between his brothers and Metalhead, his staff on guard.
"Thank you April."
"Donnie! Bangin' entrance dude!" The scientist glanced back at the others.
"You guys deal with the droids. I'll handle Metalhead." Smirking, Fallyn dropkicked a Kraang, crushing the carapace onto the alien inside. Raph glared at her.
"And where were you!?" She spun, roundhouse kicking the droid behind him.
"Nowhere important. And you're welcome." He just glowered at her.
"Whatever." Hearing creaking, Fallyn looked over at Donatello. A support beam was falling, and he was making no effort to get out of the way. Instead, he put his bo staff up as a brace.
"Donnie!" The beam crashed onto some crates. When the dust cleared, Fallyn let go of the breath she was holding. Donnie's staff had jammed itself into Metalhead's torso, which was leaning against the beam, leaving the turtle unharmed.
Donatello blinked a couple times. "Booyahkasha!"
"Sounds weird when he says it." The girl shook her head at Mikey.
"Sounds weird when you say it." A tsk of amusement passed Fallyn's lips.
"That which is the revenge will be had on those who are calling themselves the turtles." Metalhead's jaw shut, right before its eyes dimmed. The Kraang then leapt off the drone's head. It squashed Don's face before running away squealing. A pale hand came into his peripheral vision. He smiled at Fallyn as she hauled him to his feet. Still smiling, he looked over her shoulder at his brothers.
"Nice job bro!"
"Way to go Donnie!" He blushed at the praise.
'Three… two… one.'
"Yeah! Not bad. Except for that part where you built the thing in the first place. And the part where it broke. And the part where it tried to kill us! And the part-"
"Okay, I get it!" Fallyn laid a hand on the turtle's shoulder.
"Come on Don. Let's go." He nodded.
"Sure."
As soon as Fallyn's feet touched the roof, she was attacked. April buried her head in her sister's chest, trying to calm down. Fallyn petted the girl's hair, whispering to her. "You're okay. You're okay."
"Yeah. I'm fine. I'm okay, Ape." "And I got the guys back in one piece, just like I said I would." April pulled back, looking into her sister's eyes.
"Are you really okay?"
"Yeah. Now let's get you home." The redhead nodded.
"Okay. Let's go." Donnie looked at the girls.
"You want me to walk you home?"
"That's okay. We're only a few blocks away." April waved at the guys. "See you tomorrow!" They waved back.
"Bye April! Bye Fallyn!" The whitette saluted, turning to join her sister on the fire escape. The guys watched until they were out of sight.
"Come on guys. Let's head home."

It is actually possible for some people to twitch and flatten their ears against their head. So no, that isn't a power, per say. Just a unique ability.
I just thought I'd throw in another psychic convo between the sisters. Noticed I didn't have a real one yet.
Dun, dun, dun! Raph's sus-spic-cious! *Said in sing-song manner* Will he figure it out, or will he remain in the dark? Keep reading to find out!
