Chapter 54: The Queen Of My Heart

Paige's Pov-
I heard Pam take a few steps back, I heard her sobbing quietly. I didn't blame her for being worried about Emily.
"You're not like this, you're not a killer." I said trying to calm Pam down.
"I have to kill you, The Joker said that's the only thing that would make him return Emily to me." She said no longer holding back her tears.
"You don't have to do this." I said trying to not say something that would make her mad.
"I don't have a choice. You don't understand how it is to lose the only family you've got left." Pam said.
She didn't know how wrong she was, I had lost both my parents and my cousin because of A so I what it was to lose people that meant much to me.
"The Joker said that if I didn't killed you I'd never see Emily again." Pam sobbed as I slowly started to turn around.
"Don't move!" Pam shouted and fired a bullet to the ground next to me as a warning.
"You can't do this." I said in a calm voice.
"If you did you'd never be able to see into your daughters eyes again." I said and Pam didn't respond.
"I can't do this." Pam said and threw her gun on the ground.
"The Joker might have kidnapped your daughter but I can save her." I said. I had saved people from A's henchmen before and I knew I could do it again.
I turned around and looked at Pam, she was crying and now she wasn't trying to hide it.
"I am going to bring her back." I said and then she looked at me, I could see that she had little hope of ever seeing Emily again but I knew I could save her.
I left the church and called Spencer.
"Emily wasn't there. Mike tried to get Pam to kill me." I said.
"Oh god, are you ok?" Spencer asked.
"Yes, but Mike won't be when I find him." I said.
"Are you going to kill him?" Spencer asked sounding worried.
"No, but I know how to get his attention." I said. "Try to find some way to reach Mike, I'm going to make him a trade." I said.
"Ok, I'll try to find him." Spencer said and I got on my stealth bike and drove back to Sydney's bar where Mona was.
I went in and Mona looked at me smiling.
"I guess Joker is giving you trouble." She said.
"You're coming with me." I said aggressive.
"Oh, you're going to make a trade." Mona said and smirked as I grabbed her by her neck and forced her to stand up.
"Take it easy, don't you know how to treat a lady?" Mona said as I pushed her ahead of me out of the basement.
"What are you doing?" I heard someone ask and when I turned around I saw Sydney standing at the bar disk.
"I'm going to get The Joker's attention." I said.
"You can't just set her free." Sydney said as I gave Mona a syringe with anesthetic and she quickly fell asleep.
"Are you insane?" Sydney asked.
"I know it seems like a bad idea but I got no choice." I said and checked Mona's pulse making sure I didn't overdosed her.
"I hate you for doing this." Sydney said and I lifted Mona as I carried her out.
"Where are you going?" Sydney asked.
"To a very tall building." I answered and then I shut the door.
A few minutes later:
I was now standing on the floor of the school, I had Mona sitting down and she was in chains in case she tried to escape. She was awake since the anesthetic had worn off.
"Oh, this is like a classic gangster movie, you're going to trade me for a hostage." Mona said.
"No, Mike is going to get here or I'll throw you off the roof." I said, bluffing to scare Mona so she'd cooperate.
"Oracle, any luck finding Mike?" I asked over my comm link since Spencer had made it to the Bat cave with a little help from Nightwing.
"Still nothing and I've searched nonstop." Spencer answered.
"Well he will find me now." I answered and looked at Mona.
"Tell your boyfriend to get here!" I said intimidating.
Mona was quite thinking I was bluffing, so I grabbed her by her handcuffs and pushed her over the roof's edge, I held the handcuffs by their chain as she dangled over the ground.
"You're insane!" Mona shouted in panic.
"My arm is getting tired." I said frustrated.
"Ok, Bats you win!" Mona cried and I threw her on the roof.
"Call him, now!" I said and threw Mona one of my old phones.
She picked it up and dialed some numbers.
"Hey it's me. The dark knight got me, I'm on the roof of the school. Please hurry here she is crazy…" Mona said and then I smacked the phone out of her hands and then I stomped the phone.
"Now, he'll have to hurry." I said and looked at Mona who was shaking from fear.
After a few minutes Mike arrived to the school, he climbed up the fire escape and looked first at me and then Mona, I could see he wasn't going to do anything stupid while I had Mona.
"What do you want?" He asked trying to play tough.
"I want all of your henchmen in jail and A in an isolation cell." I said.
"I'm not going to do that it'd be a dumb thing to do since this is now A's town." Mike said.
"It might be for now, but I'll make sure she loses it." I said showing him that I wasn't scared of him or A.
"You're very ballsy, but unfortunately that you're going to die once A returns." Mike said.
"She did order us to make sure you died that night on the fake cargo plane. She'll be so mad she'll want to take care of you herself." Mike said.
"A ordered you and Mona to kill me and I'm still alive, A will be mad at you for failing her." I said and Mike looked worried all of a sudden, he tried to be quick to hide it but I noticed that he got terrified.
"What will it take for you to hand over Harley?" Mike asked.
"Leave my town." I said.
Mike looked at his cell phone and the he smirked at he looked at me.
"Well that's brave but, now you'll die." He said and pointed to a building far away from me. "I got a man with a sniper right there and he'll shoot you when I tell him to. Good bye Bats." Mike smirked
"Fire now!" Mike shouted into his phone.
"I said fire! That means I want you to shoot her!" He shouted in his cell phone.
"Hello? Bill are you there?" He shouted in his cell phone, but when no one answered he threw the phone.
"I thought you'd try something like that." I said and picked up the phone and pressed speaker.
"Nightwing any problems taking out the sniper?" I asked and then I turned up the volume on the phone.
"No, no problem at all." Caleb said over the phone and Mike panicked.
"It's over Mike, just surrender." I said.
"Don't call me that I'm Joker and I'm not going to give up to you!" He shouted so I threw a heavy punch at him.
The punch made Mike take a few disoriented steps backwards. He looked up and glared at me, then he ran up to me and started to throw punches at me, I went slowly backwards as I dodged and blocked the punches Mike threw at me as Mona sat down and cheered for him.
Mike managed to force me back to the end of the roof and I almost fell over the edge.
Mike took a step back and then he attempted to kick me but I dodged it in the last second and I kicked Mike's leg that he wasn't trying to kick me with.
Mike groaned in pain as he took some steps back rubbing his knee in pain.
I walked up to him and he threw another punch at me, but this time I was ready. I grabbed the arm hi tried to punch me with then I quickly turned around so I had my back tuned to him still holding his arm, then I threw him over my shoulder. He slammed hand onto the ground and got slowly up, he was a bit dizzy and looked like he was drunk.
Once he had recovered he looked at me and spat up some blood. "You're dead!" He shouted and reached into his pocket and pulled out a gun.
I quickly threw a smoke pellet right in front of him, he cough and fired his gun like a lunatic and once his gun just clicked I walked up to him and he threw the gun at me.
I easily dodged that sloppy throw and then I dodged a punch and blocked a second punch, before he had any more time to react I punched him in his gut and kicked his jaw so he fell down.
As he laid down I kicked kneed him in the cheats so he wasn't able to fight more.
As he was on the ground I pulled him up and looked into his scared eyes. "Where is Emily?" I asked.
"She is at my storage unit, number 825." Mike said.
I used my comm link to reach Caleb. "Nightwing, I've found Emily, I need you to take both Mona and Joker to Sydney, I'll send you the address." I said.
"Ok, you go get your girl." He said and then I got off the roof and jumped onto my stealth bike as drew to were Mike told me Emily was.
I reached to storage a few minutes later and once I reached the unit Emily was in I smashed the lock and opened the unit.
I saw Emily in there, she was tied to a chair but she looked ok, she looked at me and smiled.
"I knew you'd get here." She said.
I walked up and untied her. "Don't worry about Mike or Mona I've taken care of them?" I said.
"So, who will be in charge of A's men now?" Emily asked.
"I have no idea, but since Mike and Mona both were A's second in commands now A's henchmen will be in disarray until A returns." I said and helped Emily up.
"Are you sure?" She asked.
"Yes, A isn't back yet so I'll use that to my advantage." I said.
"Thank you for saving me." Emily said and we kissed.
After the kiss she leaned her head against me and I kissed her forehead and I held her to make her know she was safe now.
"Let me take you home, your mom is worried about you." I said and I felt Emily nod.
We went back to my stealth bike and I gave Emily my helmet because I wanted her to be safe.
"You're not going to wear a helmet." Emily asked.
"I want to make sure that the most important thing in my life is safe." I answered.
Emily and I got on the stealth bike and I started it and Emily placed both her hands around my waist, holding me tight.
After a few seconds I got to Emily's house and she got off and gave me a kiss.
"It'll suck that tomorrow A's henchmen will resume patrolling the city." Emily said after the kiss.
"Maybe, but in three days you're not going to have to worry about that anymore." I answered.
"Really?" Emily said sounding confused.
I reached over and cupped her cheek "Yes, because tomorrow I'm going to release this city from A's grip once and for all."
