Lias has arrived. Thank you for complying so well. The disease is not contagious, but causes a murderous tendency which can only be described as madness, possibly brought on by the fever. Anyone in close proximity is at risk. Tell the hound to heel: I will be fine.

Edmund is riding down tomorrow. You will return with him and finish your experiments in the Houses here. That is an order. The village will be cleared out within the week, until you and Lias are able to pinpoint the source of this madness. A risk is one thing, but a suicide mission is unacceptable.

Please recall Edmund immediately. The madness pits man against man. I have been safe because I am a woman. If he comes here and encounters anyone who is infected, nothing good can happen. I will return tomorrow on my own.
