Chapter 64: Preparing
A/N: I've been having really bad writers block and I've been trying to break it, I'm sorry this chapter is shorter than what I usually post but I hope you'll like it anyway.
Emily's Pov-
Paige had been training in almost every martial art style possible, she kept reminding me that A was still alive and she needed to get better to defeat her. I had heard Paige telling me about her fight against A and I heard that she defeated A, but all Paige seems to focus on is that she didn't stood a chance fighting A.
Right now I was at Hanna and Caleb's place and played with their baby. After they got out of the hospital Hanna moved in with Caleb so they could both spend time with their baby.
"Have you guys decided for a name for him?" I said as I patted the baby on his soft head, he was already having some of Caleb's hair.
"Caleb says he likes Ryan but I think he is more of a Jack." Hanna said.
"So not decided yet." I said.
"Yeah, Toby sometimes calls him Batboy, but there is no way we're calling him that." Hanna said.
"You better not, Paige is Batgirl, if anything Paige and I got dibs on that name." I joked, I knew that Paige would never agree to name one of our kids like that.
Hanna picked up her baby and held him in front of her face. "Say ma-ma." Hanna said but her baby just made a few sounds.
"He doesn't have to learn to talk now." Hanna said and put him down.
"I'm just so curious to find out how he will sound." Hanna said "But he's got his full life to talk." Hanna said.
"Yeah, and at least I'm sure he knows you're his mother." I said and Hanna made a slightly disgusted face.
"Don't call me that, it makes me feel so old." Hanna said.
"Well, you have to get used to it eventually." Caleb said as he walked in the front door holding two big bags of groceries.
"Who knows, mother might be little Ryan's first word." Caleb continued and Hanna poked her baby so he'd look at her.
"Hey, Jack. Take your time before you say your first word, there is no rush at all." Hanna said.
I could help giggling at Hanna's comment.
"So how is Paige?" I asked Caleb since he had sparred with her these last few days.
"She is getting better, she has defeated me, Ezra and Toby at the same time, without using any of her Batgirl gear." Caleb said.
"Wow, I know she is good but she beat all three of you." I said, I was impressed since Ezra and Toby did have superpowers.
"Yeah, but she might be pushing herself a bit too hard, I mean sometimes I'm worried she'll do something crazy like trying to dodge bullets like Neo did in the Matrix." Caleb said.
"It sounds like you should talk to her." Hanna said.
"I think I will. Good bye." I said and I stood up and kissed the baby on his forehead before I left to go to Paige's mansion.
It took only a few minutes for me to get to Paige's mansion, the door was unlocked so I just walked right in.
"Paige?" I asked as I walked in her mansion. After I walked around for a while I realized she must have been in the bat cave. I went through the hidden entrance to the bat cave and walked down the stairs, when I had reached to bottom of the stairs I saw Paige lying on a chair leaning against the desk. She had been using the bat computer and she must have lost time and fallen asleep.
"Hey, Paige." I said as I gently shock her shoulder to wake her up, she groaned and the she looked up at me and smiled.
"Hi." She said.
"Paige, how long have you been down here?" I asked.
"I don't know." Paige said and very tiredly rubbed her eyes.
"What have you been doing?" I asked and looked at the computer screen, it looked like she was making blueprints for a new bat suit.
"Just a little something that might give me an edge." Paige said.
"Since when have you ever needed an edge?" I asked.
"Everyone needs an edge." Paige said.
"You did manage to cover A in acid she'll probably be too scared to show up anytime soon." I said.
"Or she will return with vengeance." Paige said.
"If she does she'll have to worry about you." I said.
"Now get upstairs and get some sleep." I said, I could see that Paige was fading in and out.
"I need to finish that suit." Paige said.
"No, get some sleep a dream might even inspire you." I said.
"Ok, just let me save this." Paige said and pressed a button on the keyboard, then she turned off the computer and tried to get up from the chair but I could see she was too tired so I helped her getting up the stairs.
"I can walk on my own." Paige said.
"Right now you can barely walk at all." I said, I knew she was stronger than this but she looked like she hadn't been sleeping in a week.
I kept helping her upstairs until we reached her bedroom, I helped her take off her shirt and jeans before she got into bed, Paige instantly passed out as soon as her head hit the pillow. I smiled as I saw her sleeping she was so stunning I leaned close to her and kissed her forehead before I got up and went downstairs to prepare a meal for Paige since I wasn't sure how long it had been since she had eaten anything.
Four hours later:
I had worked in Paige's kitchen cooking some spaghetti, Paige and I had eaten a lot of advanced meals so I figured we could go easy this time and just have spaghetti and meatballs, plus they were easy to make.
I heard some footsteps coming down the stairs and after a few moments I saw Paige walking into the kitchen.
"Morning." I said and I could see that Paige still was a little tired but now she seemed rested.
"Morning." Paige said and walked to the coffeepot and poured herself a cup, after one sip of her coffee she quickly spit it up.
"Cold?" I asked.
"Yeah." Paige said.
"Sit down and try to eat something that might wake you up." I said and Paige sat down at the table as I gave her a plate.
"Thank you." Paige said and smiled at me.
She started to eat and I could see that she was still very tired.
"Hard time sleeping." I asked as I sat down next to her.
"Bad dreams." Paige said.
"About A?" I asked.
"I dreamt that she'd find out who I am and then take you away from me." Paige said.
"Paige, there is no need to worry, you defeated A in your last fight. Paige you fought A and you didn't just survived you won." I said.
"I just got lucky and the guys saved me." Paige said.
"Paige, don't think that way, you won against A and A haven't been showing her face for a long time." I said.
"That doesn't mean she is defeated." Paige said and then she got up and looked out a window. "A is still out there and I know she will return." Paige said.
