Chapter 65: The Beginning Of The End

Emily's Pov-

"Hi mom, it's me… again." I said to my mom, I held her hand as I was talking to her.

"I don't know if you can hear me but I like to think that you do." I said.

Paige had come with me but she had to leave in a hurry since there was trouble going on and the guys needed her help.

I looked at my mom and remembered that ever since my dad's death I hated lying to her if there was something I knew that could help her keeping us safe I'd tell her but I've been keeping so much from her ever since I found out about Paige's secret.

"Mom, there is something I must say, I've been keeping this from you for a long time but I can't anymore. Mom, Paige is Batgirl." I said. Once I said it I quickly looked around to make sure no one could have heard me.

Then I felt something, my mom was squeezing my hand.

"Mom." I said and looked at her, she was waking up.

"Emily?" She said as she was unaware of what had happened.

"You're awake!" I yelled out in joy as I hugged my mom tight.

She hugged me back then she suddenly gasped. "Those men they…" My mom said.

"That was two months ago, you got shot and ended up in a coma." I explained.

"Are you ok?" My mom asked.

"Yes I'm fine." I said.

"And Paige?" She asked.

"She's fine as well." I explained then I hugged my mom again. "I thought I had lost you." I said and now I couldn't hold my tears back.

When I had let go of my mom she looked at me in a strange way.

"What is it?" I asked

"Did you say you were engaged?" My mom asked.

"Yeah, please don't kill Paige but…" I said as I prepared to have a very awkward talk to my mom.

Paige's Pov-

"Who does Batgirl think she is? She injured the boss and thinks it'll be all over." A guy said, holding a speech to a group of henchmen as he put on a something that looked like a ski mask and a luchador mask.

He was standing on a box inside a storage room that was filled with firearms and the henchmen listened to his every words as he opened one of the boxes.

"I am Black mask and Rosewood is my bitch." He said and held up an assault rifle.

"Which makes you mine, Mask." I said and everyone quickly turned to me and I could instantly se the fear in everyone's eyes.

"You should have died, let me fix that." Mask said and as he was going to point his rifle at me I threw a batrang that hit the rifle out of his hands.

"What are you waiting for? KILL HER!" Mask screamed and the men fired their guns at me and I just stood still and watched as the bullets stopped right in front of me and then landed on the ground.

Green Lantern walked up next to me. "I told you I could make a bulletproof barrier." He said as he aimed his ring at the villains.

"Never doubted you for a second." I said.

"Get them, it's just two of them!" Mask screamed.

"Actually…" Nightwing said as he emerged from the shadows he had hidden earlier.

"… There are four of us." Flash said as he showed up right next to Nightwing.

We attacked Black mask's men, I slammed my fist hard onto one guys jaw and then I kicked another one in his neck making him fall down.

Nightwing used his nightsticks to block a henchman's attack, then he jumped back and hit him in his gut then Nightwing elbowed the villain's nose so he got knocked out.

Flash quickly ran up to a bunch of villains and with his lightning fast speed he knocked out one villain after the other before they could see him coming.

Green Lantern kicked a villain's knee and then he used his powers to shoot a few projectiles on some others and then he turned back to his first villain and knocked him out with one hard punch.

Emily's Pov-

"So you and Paige are engaged, but you're waited to get married until you're older?" My mom asked after I had explained everything to her.

"Yes." I answered.

"I thought that's what promise rings were for." Mom said.

"Paige wanted this to be more sincere." I said and a few seconds went by that felt like hours.

"Paige is a very nice girl and I must say I expected you to get older before you'd wear one of those rings." My mom said as she held my hand to get a good look at my engagement ring.

"It's a very nice ring." She said.

"Paige really must like you if she is willing to propose to you." She continued.

"She has been my rock ever since you were in the coma." I said. "She was there for me all the time and she even let me stay at her place because I didn't wanted to be alone." I said.

"Oh, so you spent many nights with her?" My mom said and I started to blush, right now I didn't care what Paige was doing, I just knew it couldn't be worse than this.

Paige's Pov-

"It's over, give up!" I said to Black Mask, we had just knocked out his crew and he was on his back trying to crawl away.

I walked up to him and just as I was going to grab him he pulled out a gun from nowhere and fired it at me before I had any time to react.

"Batgirl!" Nightwing yelled as Flash ran up to Mask and knocked him out with a quick punch.

"Are you ok?" Green Lantern said as the guys ran up to me.

"Yeah I'm fine." I said, I was lucky, the bullet had just grazed me.

"That was too close." Nightwing said.

"Yeah, I got lucky this time." I said.

"Oracle, call the cops and let them know we left them a present." I said over the comm link.

"I'm on it, and I think you should know, your girlfriend wants you to run to the hospital, Mrs. Fields is awake." Oracle said.

"Ok, tell her I'll get there as soon as I can." I said as I quickly ran to the Stealth bike, I had to get to the hospital as Paige not Batgirl and it had to be fast.

A week later:

After I had been very late to seeing Mrs. Fields at the hospital and join Emily in a very awkward conversation with her mom, Mrs. Fields did give us her blessing.

After a few days Pam was cleared to leave the hospital and she went home with Emily but Emily did spend some time with me even though she also wanted to spend time with her mom.

Now Emily was with me in my mansion, we were on my bed and just cuddled we had watched a movie together and now we just enjoyed each other's company.

"How is your mom taking the fact that we're engaged?" I asked, I was a bit worried that Pam would force Emily to call of the engagement since we were both young.

"She is taking it fine… well she still points out that I'm much younger than she thought I'd be when I'd get engaged but she's mostly fine with it." Emily said.

"That's good to hear." I said and kissed the top of Emily's head and she looked up at me and smiled as she kissed me.

"I love you." I said.

"I love you too." Emily answered.

Then there was a boom and the mansion was shaking like there was going to be an earthquake an then it just stopped just as sudden as it had started.

"What the hell was that?" I said as Emily and I sat up.

Then the door opened and someone I never thought I would ever see again showed up.

"Maya?" Emily asked.

"Yes, it's me and that sound was the explosives I just detonated inside the Bat cave." She said.

"What are you…?" I said but Maya just fired a gun into the air.

"Don't give me that bullshit! I know you're Batgirl and it was easy to figure out the other members of your gang." Maya said as she aimed the gun at me.

"No sudden moves or I'll shoot you or your fiancée." Maya said.

"It's over for you, I just killed the Batgirl, I destroyed the Bat cave, the only reason I haven't told my boss is because she doesn't want to know." Maya said.

"You fucking bitch." I said.

"It's payback." Maya continued. "Ever since I got out of jail I've been planning on how to get my revenge on Batgirl and that's today." Maya said.

"Perhaps but I have defeated you before and I can do it again." I said and discreetly reached into my back pocket to grab a smoke pellet.

"Don't be so certain." Maya said then she took a step back and a group of henchmen who charged in ready to attack us.

I threw the smoke pellet onto the floor and grabbed Emily's hand to run away with her. I dragged her out of my room and tackled Maya as I ran with Emily but once I reached the stairs there was even more henchmen and they were ready to fight.

I didn't see any way around it, I had to fight. I kicked the first henchman that was running up the stairs so he fell down but then a few more came running towards me and Emily. I threw punches like crazy trying to fend off the attackers but no matter how many guys I knocked out, I punched one guy and two more showed up in his place.

I kept fighting but the men had surrounded me. "Get her, she can't do anything without her gear, she is just a girl!" Maya yelled as the henchmen had me surrounded and I tried to fight back but there were too many for me.

Emily's Pov-

"Maya make them stop!" I screamed as I watched in fear as the henchmen had surrounded Paige, I couldn't see Paige anymore and I was worried they had beaten her to death.

"Please, don't kill her!" I screamed to Maya who fired her gun into the air. The henchmen stopped and they all back off and I could see Paige, she was unconscious but I knew she was alive.

"You're lucky the boss wants her alive. Take her away!" Maya said and the henchmen gathered around me and the started to drag me.

"Where are you taking me?" I asked.

"To the boss, A wants Batgirl and what's a bigger motivator than to save you and all your friends?" Maya asked.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"I've already captured all your friends, Spencer, Aria, Hanna, Caleb, Ezra and Toby. There is just Paige left for A to kill." Maya said.

I quickly got a hand free and I slapped Maya as hard as I could over her face.

"I don't know why I ever love you." Maya said.

"You never did." I said.

"Fair enough, let's go!" Maya said and someone placed a bag over my head.

Paige's Pov-

"Paige, wake up. Come on wake up!" I heard a voice say.

I opened my eyes and saw Mrs. Fields standing next to me.

"What happened?" I asked.

"It's all my fault." She said.

"What do you mean?" I asked and Pam helped me up.

"I told Maya you were Batgirl." Pam said.

"That was you?" I almost yelled in shock.

"Maya came to me, she said she'd kill Emily if I didn't told her who Batgirl was or she'd kill Emily." Pam said.

"How did you know about that?" I asked.

"Emily told me a few weeks ago before I woke up, at first I didn't believed her but I realized you were the best fit to be Batgirl." Pam said.

"Well, Maya lied to you, she kidnapped Emily." I said.

"I know, I shouldn't have trusted her and now it's too late." Pam said.

"Maybe not." I said as I went to the opening to the Bat cave and Pam followed me.

"Everything is ruined." Pam said as she looked at what once was the Batcave.

"Not everything." I said and pressed a button that opened a secret passage and it lead to my secret weapon, my latest batsuit fully equipped with all equipment I had, I called it the Batsuit V8.03.

It was the strongest suit I had, the inner and outer layer of my suit is made of a titanium dipped tri-weave so the suit was able to resist a few bullets. The middle layer was filled with a fluid that hardens in respond to impacts making it possible to put more force in my punches and the liquid also made it possible for me to move more flexible and take out enemies even quicker that I possibly could in any of my other suits.

"What are you going to do?" Pam asked.

"I'm going fight A one last time" I said and then I put on the suit.

"This ends tonight."
