:Hi everyone! Here's the chapter you all have been looking forward to! I honestly didn't know how to go about this because I've written a race before for a previous story but this one is going to be hard because it's three races at once + a surveillance area. So this was really hard to write! I hope you enjoy this chapter!:
Yugi walked slowly, carrying the ice cold water bottles in his arms, his face bright red from the encounter with Atemu. Did he have to kiss his ear and whisper like that?! The stupid flirt could have just got his drink and left, but no! He had to come and flirt with him before everything. The nerve of the stupid royal, and what did he mean 'We'll see about that'? Did he actually think he was going to run for him? As if! He sighed, looking forward and spotting his two friends talking to each other. Just forget about it, Yugi told himself, he was just trying to be flirty as usual.
Bakura looked away from Anzu and took sight of his short friend, he had three water bottles. Three? He hadn't asked for one, but he was getting thirsty so he guessed it didn't matter anyway. Anzu followed Bakura's eyesight, smiling as Yugi came up to them with the water. She had wondered when he was going to come back, he had taken quite a long time. Yugi stopped in front of them, smiling as he began to hand out the water bottles. Was it just her, or was his face more red than usual?
"What took you so long?" Anzu questioned, taking hold of the water bottle Yugi held out to her. Yugi froze as he held out a bottle to Bakura, he couldn't tell them he had run into him again, they would tease him about it!
"I couldn't find the water bottles." He lied as Bakura took the bottle out of his hand. Bakura rose an eyebrow at him as he opened it.
"Did you run?" Bakura asked, taking a drink of the water. "You're red in the face." Yugi's eyes widened, he was still blushing?! He was sure his face would have returned to normal by now, but it was still flushed?! He looked away, it was probably still red because he hadn't stopped thinking about how the damn prince whispered in his ear. The way it send a shiver throughout his body, the way it sounded in his ear, and the way he placed a simple kiss on him...Yugi felt his face get brighter and just shook his head, causing confusion to appear onto his friend's faces.
"It's just hot outside..." Yugi grumbled out, his head facing the ground. "I just need to cool off." He rose his head, grabbing at the cap of the water bottle and twisting it off in a harsh manner. He tilted his head back and chugged the liquid, feeling his body cool off by the cold water. It felt nice, he hadn't been lying about the heat outside. It was hot as all hell out there, what was the temperature? Around ninety-six now that he thought about it.
"Uh huh..." Bakura whispered, not believing Yugi for a second that it was just hot outside. Yes, it was hot but Yugi had a higher tolerance for heat than the rest of them. Bakura hated the heat, when it would be in the eighties it would feel like the ninetys, and since it was ninety-six? It felt like one hundred and six! But he didn't care, most races were ran in hot weather anyway. If Bakura didn't love living, he would ask Yugi if he had seen Mr. BlindPrince, but Bakura loved being able to live, so he was fine with not asking.
"We need to be at our races in five minutes guys." Anzu spoke, crossing her arms with the water bottle in her hand. Bakura nodded in response, while Yugi tilted his head to the side. Five minutes?! When did they hear this?
"It was announced before you came back." Bakura answered, already knowing what Yugi was thinking. Yugi turned to him and pouted at him, but internally thanked him for the answer. He returned his eyes to Anzu and nodded at her.
"Alright," Yugi smiled. "Good luck you guys, try your best..." He looked to the side. "If you want." He added, chuckling and running off with his water bottle in his hand. Bakura and Anzu watched as he ran, noting how fast he seemed to go. The people competing in Atemu's race would have quite the competition. Yugi was a jack of all trades when it came to this race, he was good at running and driving, and it doesn't take an expert to roll down a hill.
"I think he'll win." Anzu commented, turning her eyes to Bakura. He scoffed, finding it amusing to think of Yugi actually trying to win.
"You think he'll try?" Bakura asked, a smile on his face as he saw Yugi disappear from his line of sight. Anzu giggled and nodded.
"I know he will," She said. "One way or another he will, he might not know he'll be trying. But he will." Bakura laughed and turned to face her, crossing his arms.
"You sure have faith in him," He noticed. "Despite how much he seems to hate the prince." Anzu shrugged and looked the other way, feeling her face turn a slight pink. Sure, she had faith in him. She had to, he was her friend!
"Don't you?" She questioned. Bakura sighed and nodded. He did, Yugi always tried the hardest in their group, even if he wanted to lose, he would make sure he got at least a decent place. He wouldn't be surprised if Yugi ended up being in first place and stopped just before crossing the finish line to let the next person go in front of him.
"I do." Bakura looked in a different direction. "We better be heading off, so." Bakura held up a hand. "Good luck in the race, Anzu." Anzu smiled brightly and took hold of his hand. They smiled at each other before they let go of their hand and gave each other a high five as well.
"You too, Bakura!"

Yugi stood at the beginning of the race, his hands in his pockets as he looked around at the surrounding competitors. Many girls were around him, and only a few boys seemed to be attending. The girls began to gush about their running skill and how good they were at driving, they would giggle and smile as they thought about what they could do to get closer to Atemu during the lunch that they absolutely knew they would win. Yugi narrowed his eyes at them, why the hell would anyone want to get close to him?
He looked to the guys who were standing around, all they would talk about were their skills for driving and how they wanted free food. Only a few of them mentioned actually trying to get to know the prince. Most of the people here probably signed up with a friend or something, Yugi commented. He probably could have signed up with Anzu for Mana or something, but no he had to get chosen to be in this race. Speaking of Anzu...
What was wrong with her lately? Yugi asked himself, she had been acting odd ever since that morning and it was making him worry. Maybe, she was worrying over the fact that Mana liked her? It surprised him to find that Mana did act like she had a thing for Anzu, but he didn't really care anymore. When he thought about it, the two actually made a cute couple. He just didn't want to lose a friend to royalty though. If his friends weren't careful, he could lose them all to the royals. But himself? Oh no, he would not lose to the prince. He hated him...
"If you continue to space out like that..." Yugi gasped as he whipped himself around to find Atemu standing there, with some weird brown pouch thing in his hand, and a giant smirk on his face. "You won't know when the race starts." Yugi narrowed his eyes at the prince.
"What do you want?" He asked, trying to forget how his face began to heat up from hearing his voice again. Just remembering that whisper made his face act weird. Atemu chuckled and swung the pouch around.
"This," He gestured at the pouch with his head. "Is for you." He took a step toward Yugi, causing him to back up in response. Atemu sighed, knowing the reason why he was backing up. He's scared you're going to touch him again, but I only touched him to know his gender! Atemu argued in his head, yeah but you wanted to do more. Atemu erased these thoughts out of his head.
"Yugi, you need this." He spoke, hoping to calm down his prince of the sun. "Every single one of the students acquired one of these after picking a race, you didn't have to sign up. Which meant you didn't get one." Yugi blinked at him and looked around, taking note of the pouches on the students. Every single one of them had a pouch around their waist.
"Now, you can't put this on by yourself." Atemu said, stepping closer and finding himself surprised when Yugi didn't step away. "So, allow me to put this on you, okay?" Yugi returned his eyes to Atemu, staring up at him and trying not to take into note how close he was to him. He felt his face heat up again, god damn it...He jerked his head to the side.
"Fine." Yugi replied. "Just hurry up." Atemu sighed with relief and knelt down in front of Yugi, wrapping the brown pouch around his body. Yugi looked down at him, watching him as he buckled it onto him. He really was just placing the pouch onto him. Atemu looked up and held out a hand.
"Let me see your water bottle." Yugi glared down at him and held the bottle tighter.
"You're not going to drink it," Yugi narrowed his eyes. "Are you?" Atemu rose an eyebrow up at him, really? It was quite a childish question, but it was cute coming from the little beauty in front of him.
"No," Atemu chuckled. "If I want to get a kiss from you, I'll get a real one. Not a fake one." Yugi blushed and thrust the bottle down at him, as if telling him to take before he smacked him upside the head with it. Atemu chuckled once more and took the bottle into his hand, opening the pouch and placing the bottle into it. He stood up, dusting his hands off as if he did something important. Yugi looked down at the pouch, so it's for holding water...That's useful.
"There, you're all set now." Atemu smiled sweetly down at Yugi. "Mr. Pegasus didn't want his students dying from heat stroke, so he ordered that everyone get's a water pouch so they could have water whenever they needed it." Yugi blinked in surprise but smiled at the notion, that was nice of him. But, why did Atemu come bring his to him personally. Yugi could vaguely remember Anzu and Bakura having something brown on their waists, when had they gotten theirs?
"How did..." Yugi whispered before Atemu placed a hand on his head and began to pet his hair, okay get off my head! Yugi squirmed away from his hand, narrowing his eyes in anger at him. Atemu just laughed.
"If you're wondering about your friends..." Yugi's eyes widened. "Then, they received theirs from Pegasus, so don't worry about them." He looked down, how did the stupid prince know he was wondering about his friends? He looked up at Atemu, the gold of the uniform shined off him and cast him in a shining glow, as if he was a god. His eyes glittered in the sun, giving a compliment to his tanned skin as it mixed perfectly with his face. For some reason...He looked like true royalty.
Atemu turned his eyes to Yugi, why was he staring at him? Yugi often acted like he didn't even want to see his face. Was there something wrong with his hair or was he...Atemu couldn't let a smirk come onto his face to ruin this. Yugi was staring at him as if he was in awe! Well, Atemu thought, guess I'm already winning the bet.
"Are you alright?" Atemu asked, trying so hard not to smirk. Yugi blinked, returning to his senses and blushed brightly. He turned his head away.
"Y-Yeah." Yugi stuttered out. "S-Shouldn't you be heading off to the end of the finish line?!" He yelled, praying that Atemu hadn't caught him looking at him like that. Atemu allowed himself a small smirk and nodded.
"Yes, I should." Atemu said, placing a hand on his hip. "Good luck, Yugi." He winked at him, turning around and waving as he began to walk away. Yugi glared at him as he walked, what was he thinking? Him looking like true royalty? He must be having a heat stroke or something. He reached into his pouch, taking hold of the water bottle and opening it, taking a swift drink out of it.
"Students. Please line up at your starting line and await further rules and instructions."
Yugi heard, the voice now Pegasus speaking over a megaphone. He returned the bottle to the pouch and followed the hoard of students near him. They approached a long red line with a red flag right next to it, with a large pyramid in the center of it. He chuckled, what kind of symbol was that? A red pyramid? A pyramid of blood maybe? Perhaps it was representing his hair or eyes, they were some kind of red.
"I would like to inform all students at this point, that if I do not see you trying your best, I will warn you and tell you to start trying. If after the warning you continue to slack, I will fail you for the semester."
Yugi's eyes widened, wait what? Why the hell was that a rule?! That wasn't fair! What was that stupid principal playing at? Yugi thought for a minute, he could try to lose. He was trying, so he can't fail him for that. He was trying, he just wasn't trying to win. A loophole so stupid it's good, why would anyone think he would try to win in the first place? How pathetic...
"Eh? Why is that needed?" A female student whined. "Who wouldn't try their best, I mean. It's a prince!" Yugi narrowed his eyes and turned them to the side to see two girls talking to each other.
"Yeah!" The other girl replied. "I don't know who wouldn't try! Being alone with a prince is anyone's dream! Just imagine what we could do together when we're alone!" Yugi felt nausea build up in his stomach, how disgusting. The two girls squealed and continued to talk.
"I just know that once I get alone with him, he'll be putty in my hands!" The first girl spoke, Yugi whipped his head around to them. Huh? "Being with royalty means you get everything you want, if I can make him love me then I can be the most beautiful girl ever!" The other girl giggled.
"All royals are the same anyway." She responded. "I mean, if I get alone with him, I'm going to pull the ultimate seducing act. He'll be head over heels for me! But, I hope we both do good!" The two girls gave each other a hug before they giggled once more and faced the front, all of a sudden getting serious.
Not all royals are the same, Yugi thought. Seto wasn't a true royal, but he was treated like one here and he looked pissed all the time, but he did show some emotion for a little bit around Joey if he remembered right. Malik, again wasn't a real royal, but he looked like one and he didn't seem to act proper. Mana was a princess, but she acted like a normal girl and seemed to not care about being one...Atemu's a prince, but once you get past the creepy attitude, he seemed like a normal person with bad eyesight.
Yugi clutched his hands to his side, why should he care? But...Yugi lifted his head, taking a step forward and knelt down into a running position at the line. He grit his teeth. He didn't think he'd want to try, but...
Not even idiots deserve to get used...
()()()()()()()
"Everyone, please. On my mark!"
"It's starting." Seto called out, his cheek resting on the elbow that was placed on one of the armrest's of the loveseat. Joey looked up from the mini fridge, he had gone to it fetch a lot of snacks from it so he didn't have to get up that often. He stood up, sodas, candies, and chips held in his arms as he kicked the mini fridge shut.
"Good, I was getting bored." Joey said happily, falling back onto the seat and placing the snacks in-between him and Seto. After the argument, they hadn't said much to each other, but both of them noticed when the other would take glances at them. Seto would take a glance at Joey every now and then when he thought he wasn't looking, and Joey would just take glances whenever he felt like it. He didn't care if Seto had noticed or not, so he knows he looked at him, big deal.
"Get set!"
"Go faster." Joey whined, causing Seto to chuckle as he watched the screen. Seto narrowed his eyes as he looked at the bottom of it, Yugi looked to be in some kind of running position. For a person that hated the prince, he looked ready to run for him. What could have gotten into the kid? He looked at the top screen, taking note of the other two friends he had seen with Joey. The brown headed girl was taking a running position as well, and the white headed boy seemed to just be standing with his hands in his pockets. If anyone looked like they didn't care, it was him. Wasn't he running for Malik?
"Go!"
Seto's eyes widened as he watched Yugi, the kid who he thought would do his best to lose, take off at the speed of a jaguar. Holy mother of god, that kid was fast! Joey let out a cheer, a very loud one, right in his ear. Seto grimaced and placed a hand to his ear in annoyance, he looked to Joey, who looked happy as can be...Seto allowed a line of pink spread across his cheeks and returned his eyes to the screen.
The girl was fast, she wasn't winning easily though. She was in around 5th place from what he could see, She was trying though. Anyone could see that, but with that speed she had to be sure she was good at the other parts of the race. She wasn't slow, she wasn't fast. But she wasn't bad.
"Come on, Bakura!" Joey yelled harshly. "Stop running like a girl!" Seto turned his eyes to the white haired boy, whom he presumed to be Bakura. It sounded like, 'Kura...Ah, an annoying childish nickname, no wonder Malik came up with it. Joey was wrong about the running like a girl part, but he was running quite slow. If anything he was jogging, he was almost in dead last. He wandered vaguely if he was trying his best, if he wasn't, why wasn't Pegasus getting on him about it?
"Is there any certain reason," Seto asked, trying to think. "That Pegasus is not warning Bakura for not trying his best?" Joey turned his eyes to Seto, surprised to hear him ask a question. Joey nodded at him.
"Kinda yeah," Joey replied. "Bakura gets hot easily, so if he runs too much. He can get heat stroke easily." Seto's eyes widened, was it okay for him to even be in this race then?!
"Will he..." Seto wondered, feeling embarrassed for being worried about someone who wasn't even important to him. "Be okay?" Joey chuckled, nodding once more.
"Yeah, Bakura learned how to pace himself so he doesn't get hot while running." Joey smirked and winked at Seto. "Just wait, in the last round he'll dominant them all." Seto narrowed his eyes in confusion, how can you go from last place to first in the last round? He thought of the race. Wait...Cars...He returned his eyes to the race on the screen.
"Maybe, this'll be more interesting then I thought..."
()()()()()()()()
Running? It was easy. Yugi smiled as he ran, feeling the wind past by his face and run across his skin. It felt so relaxing, all you have to do to be relaxed while running...Just breath in the air, let your body run naturally, don't think too hard about it. Your body will guide you, Yugi loved running. He wasn't surprised when he surpassed everyone in this part, the only part he was worried about was if he could stay in first for long. He wanted to win now, but not for Atemu. For two reasons, one; for the fact it was supposed to be pretty good food. And two; he might as well show that even he can be nice and save the stupid blind idiot from being seduced from money grabbing chicks.
Would he even fall for it if they did seduce him? Well, he's blind as a bat, but would he abandon the bet just to go with one of them? Yugi didn't know why he was worrying about that, he wouldn't mind if one of them took Atemu off his hands, he just didn't want the person to be a girl who just wanted money. No one deserved someone who just wanted you for your wealth or social status, not even stupid perverts like him.
This is hard...Anzu thought, running as fast as she could. She knew how to run, but to run for this long hurt. She looked in front of her to see the back of the heads of many other students. She was doing her best, so she wouldn't get nagged at by Pegasus at least. But, why was she even trying her best? She didn't want to fail the semester, but why did she really want to try? She could see Mana smiling at her, holding her roses in her head.
She couldn't be trying for Mana, could she? She didn't like her, did she? No she couldn't, she liked Atemu and...Why did Yugi always appear in her mind when she thought of Atemu? She'd known Yugi for a long time, she always thought of him like a brother. But ever since Atemu came into the picture, and how she noticed Yugi resembled him but has a more cheerful attitude than him...Did she like Yugi?
This hurts...This hurts really bad. Bakura told himself, he shouldn't be running like this in this heat. He was trying, he was sure Pegasus knew that. He just couldn't run fast, if he did, he could overheat and almost die! He could never take the heat, he never knew why but he just couldn't. God, Bakura slowed down, taking a deep breath as he found himself more than halfway done with the first half of the race.
He gulped in some air as he reached in his pouch, grabbing his water and tearing off the cap. He chugged the cold drink down, taking a deep breath as he tried to calm down. Bakura was heating himself up too much, he was doing this for what? Free food? He was only doing it for that, so why was he hurting himself? Food isn't worth pain, but he just couldn't tell himself to throw the race and not try his best. He took another swift drink and took off running again, noting how he could see another flag come into view.
A golden flag with the number two on it...
()()()()()()()()()
"Thank god..." Joey sighed with relief, slouching down into his seat. Bakura had looked as if he was going to die from running, he had jumped out of his seat in a panic. Seto had grabbed him but Joey had yelled at him, saying that if he saw Bakura collapse he would rush out in a instant. Seto said it was fine, but to wait and see if he actually did collapse.
Seto let out a breath he was holding, god that was terrifying...Bakura had lagged behind and let some people pass in front of him, but despite that he was okay. He was catching back up and he was approaching something...All of them had approached something...It was a flag, the color different for each race but the number was the same. A number two. Yugi had gotten there first, but he hadn't known what to do, he saw a hill but he looked around. Weren't they supposed to have scooters. Anzu had got there second, she too had stopped and looked around.
Joey let out a loud gasp as he saw scooters fly out of the surrounding bushes, small scooters...the one's they would use for gym class in elementary school. The students just let out loud laughs and gasps as they saw them, they seemed happy to see the childlike scooters once again. He saw Yugi shake his head in shock but grab one and roll it down, before he threw himself on top of it. Seto and Joey were trying not to laugh at that, it looked really funny. Anzu, did the girly thing to do, and sat on it before scooting herself down and letting the hill carry her down. Bakura, however, did the most dangerous version of it. He stood on top of it and rode it down the hill like a skateboard.
"He's going to kill himself again..." Seto groaned, placing a hand on his forehead. Joey began to laugh and beat on his armchair.
"Yes!" Joey laughed. "Go Bakura! Ride it like you wouldn't believe, you madman!" Seto looked to Joey, and couldn't help finding the laugh infectious. He felt laughter bubble up in his chest until he couldn't take it.
He rose a hand, and began to laugh into it.
()()()()()()()()()()()
Yugi thought Pegasus was nuts, who had thrown the scooters out at them?! He had to close his eyes as he road down, he was on his stomach on top of a red scooter. You didn't have to race at this point, it was just who was the lightest and who fell down the quickest! Yugi just let the hill carry him, he heard squeals and laughter enter his ears, if he wasn't holding onto the scooter for dear life he would have put his hands to his ears to block out the sound.
It was accelerating, But, it was terrifying! The hill was a two mile drop and it scared the crap out of him! The past wind he had experienced with running had evolved into a more intense, harsher wind and it felt like he was on a roller coaster that never stopped! Yugi was never into heights, and this was not something he particularly enjoyed!
It kind of felt like you were flying, Anzu giggled as she fell down the hill on a dark green scooter. This was so much fun! The hill seemed like it could go on for ages! Being a girl, she was wearing a skirt, which meant she had to sit on the scooter and it was so scary! She felt her heart going as fast as she was down the hill. God, could it get any faster?!
Anzu let out a loud scream as she felt water pour onto the back of her head, she turned her head around to see another student yelling sorry! Why the heck would you open a water bottle while falling down a hill?! Isn't it obvious that it wasn't a good idea? But, she had to admit, it did help cool her off in this heat.
"Woohoo!" Bakura cheered, feeling energy burst into his body as he balanced himself on top of the purple scooter as it fell faster and faster down the large hill. Students stared at him as if he was crazy, but it was amazing! This was much more fun then running! It didn't even feel hot anymore! Bakura had learned this scooters, as long as he didn't tilt to the left or the right, the scooter would keep going straight.
Bakura looked in front of him to see only about three or four people in front of him. He couldn't have that! He tilted his body forward, placing all of his weight onto the front of the scooter. If he didn't know anything about these things, he would have gone flying! He smirked as he raced past the other students, much to their shock. He turned his face and gave them a playful wink.
"Better luck next time!"
()()()()()()()()
"Ah! Oh my god!" Joey screamed, hiding his face in Seto's shoulder. Seto blinked and was taken back by this, when the hell had he come so close to him?! But he had almost screamed too, Bakura had arrived at the end of the hill and preformed quite the back flip off of it, causing Joey to freak out and not want to watch if he somehow broke his head open. Surprisingly, he stuck the landing perfectly and ran off toward a large line of cars. He nudged Joey with his shoulder.
"Hey," Seto said. "He lived, don't worry." Joey lifted his head up at him, his honey meeting ice before his face burned and forced himself away from Seto.
"O-Oh..." Joey said, feeling embarrassed now. "O-Okay, good-How many different colors are there?!" Seto rose an eyebrow and returned his eyes to the screen, oh god it's a rainbow display of cars. All of the colors in the world had to be on those cars, and so many cars were there! How big was this school's backyard to hold over two thousand cars?! He heard of expensive schools and how they were elegant, but so many cars! Seto watched as Bakura walked and browsed the cars, seeming to take his time. He had a good reason why, he had a fairly high lead. He watched as Bakura grabbed a purple car and entered it, taking off immediately.
"That was fast." Seto commented. Joey smiled as he watched Yugi ride down, tilting his chin up so it didn't hit the concrete. He was neck in neck with some girls, but despite them, they were pretty far away from the other racers. He ran and grabbed a red car, hopping in and taking only a few seconds before he raced off. Anzu entered the area, panicking, why was she scared? She grabbed the nearest car in sight, a dark green one and took off, a scream coming out of the car.
"That's weird..." Joey said. "Cars take more time to start up then that, I could expect it from Yugi and Bakura, but not from Anzu..." Seto nodded in agreement, depending on the car it would take more time to start up...
Were these cars set up differently?
()()()()()()()()
This is not a normal car! This is not a normal car! This is not- Anzu panicked, letting out a scream as she directed the car in the direction she had to go. All she had done was enter it and sit down and it had taken off! She barely had enough time to shut her door! She looked around inside, it looked like a normal car but there wasn't breaks or anything! It was just a steering wheel!
How are you supposed to win a race with just a steering wheel and a car who seems to have a mind of it's own?! She leaned back, pressing her body into the seat, the car went faster. Huh? Anzu pressed her whole body into the seat, watching as the car accelerated more. Oh, well now this was odd...Now how to break...She knew that to make sharp turns you had to break while turning, so how...
Anzu let out a scream as she tried to turn, seeing another car zoom past her. She glared and yelled out a curse, honking her horn...which then caused the car to stop and burn her tires. The break, was to honk the horn? What kind of messed up car was this?! She glared as she then forced her body back and watched as the car went faster and faster, she passed by students second by second, did they not figure out the mechanism for the car yet? She let out a groan, she wanted to go faster! People with heavier body weights could probably go faster than her due to more weight being pushed down onto the seat.
"Will you go faster you hunk of met-Ah!" She screamed, feeling the car suddenly jerk forward faster. Anzu gasped as she saw a flash of light appear where the radio would be in a normal car, a person appeared on it. Mana, she giggled and waved.
"Hi Anzu!" She giggled through the box. Anzu felt her heart race and the car go faster, what the hell made this thing go even faster?! She knew leaning all of your weight back helped, but what else-
"The more emotion in your driving, the faster it goes." Mana told her, she winked. "I look forward to seeing you at the finish line! I shouldn't be using this, Mr. Pegasus will get mad at me." She blew a small kiss at Anzu before she waved and the screen went black.
What was that all about?! Random, but hey it helps! Anzu mentally thanked Mana and felt her heart racing as she looked out and saw Mana standing with roses in her arms only about thirty feet away. Anzu raced toward her at an unstoppable speed, she closed her eyes as she slammed her hand on the horn.
Anzu screamed, neglecting to hear the tires screech in agony as they forced themselves to stop. Mana giggled, knowing she wasn't in danger as she watched Anzu's car stop right in front of her. Very good, she thought, very good indeed. She walked to the side of the car, giggling as she looked in to see Anzu's eyes closed and sweat rolling down her face.
"Anzu." Mana sung out. Anzu opened her eyes in shock, she was okay? She looked around, finally seeing Mana standing next to her outside the car door. Mana felt excitement bubble up in her chest as she grabbed the door handle and jerked it to open up the door. She reached in, grabbing Anzu's hand and dragging her out.
"M-Mana, d-did I-" She gasped out before Mana held out the roses to her with a bright smile. Anzu took them from her, looking at her in question of if she won or not. Mana reached into her pocket, pulling out a device that resembled a remote control, at the top was a large pink button
"This is what I used to talk to you." Mana said, excitement sneaking it's way into her voice. "I wasn't supposed to, but..." She allowed a small blush to go onto her cheeks. "I wanted to." She pressed the pink button with a wide smile and pointed up at the sky with it. In a flash, pink fireworks were lit off in the sky. Spelling out the words;
Mana's Race Complete!

Bakura drove cars before, but never had he driven one like this. All he did was jump in it and it took off like some madman on crack! He gripped the wheel, looking around for the breaks and other parts in the car. Where the hell was everything?! The only things in the car was the steering wheel and some weird television looking thing in the place where a radio should go! He gripped the wheel tighter, he wasn't going fast at all!
Bakura cursed, how was he going to win if this thing didn't go at it's max speed?! The way he drove was odd to many people, he would place as little weight as possible on the seat so that he felt comfortable in the car. But since he had no pedal to push to go faster, he was at a standstill here as he went at a delicate pace. He closed his eyes in frustration, failing to hear static coming from the television to the side of him.
"'Kura?" Malik's voice erupted from the screen. Bakura's eyes flew up at the sound and looked around. Where was that coming from?! He looked down at the screen, how the heck was that royal on the screen?!
"'Kura!" Malik yelled, his face forming a pout. "You're never going to win at this rate." Bakura narrowed his eyes at him, for some reason he didn't feel like winning now. What was the point in winning if the car wouldn't go?! Malik placed a hand on his forehead and one on his hip, he sighed.
"To go faster, press all of your weight onto the seat and place all of your emotion into the steering wheel." Malik explained with a huff. "You know, like anger and all that, you have plenty of that, right?" Bakura glared at the Malik on the screen, placing a majority of his weight onto the seat and growling at him.
"What did you-Hey!" Bakura yelled before he felt the car jerk himself up and go at an incredible speed. The royal was right, huh...He turned his eyes to the screen and saw Malik smiling at him and nodding with a thumbs up before the screen went black. Bakura felt a blush come over his cheeks, the smile was kind of cute in a sense...He shook his head, just stop thinking and concentrate on the race!
He pressed his body into the seat as much as he could, and forced himself to think of times that pissed him off. Needless to say, he was going much faster now. Bakura narrowed his eyes as he saw Malik come into view, wait. How the hell did he break?! He panicked, he didn't like the royal, but he didn't want to hit the fool! He pressed the horn to warn him, but instead the car skid to a stop, right in front of the blonde royal. Bakura blinked in confusion before it registered in his head that he stopped, the horn was the break? What kind of break is that?! He shook his head and got out of the car, slamming the door shut.
Malik smiled brightly at the sight of him, clapping in happiness at seeing him. Bakura really did try his best for him! He felt his heart be enveloped in a warmth as he ran over to him. Bakura rose an eyebrow when Malik approached him.
"Congratulations, 'Kura!" Malik cheered as he jumped forward and wrapped his arms around Bakura's neck. Bakura blushed a bright pink and turned his head, pushing Malik away from him.
"Don't hang onto me, you idiot..." Bakura grumbled out as he gulped and tried to calm his face down. It was just a race, it wasn't a big deal...He turned his head back around to see Malik reaching into his pocket and bringing out a remote control, with a gold button at the top.
"What's that do?" Bakura questioned, pointing at the object. Malik giggled and winked at him.
"Why don't you wait and see?" He sung out, pressing the gold button. Bakura's eyes widened as he watched gold fireworks light up the already bright sky and spell out the sentence:
Malik's Race Complete!

Calm down. Yugi told himself, taking deep breathes as he watched the car speed up as he leaned back into the car seat. Okay, more weight makes it go faster...He told himself, he had entered the car and it had took off. It surprised him, but he had to calm down, he can't win a race by panicking. No one can accomplish anything if they panic, so trying to figure out the car piece by piece calmly was ideal. He could feel sweat rolling down his back as he directed the steering wheel to turn, but he needed to break. How do you break?
"Oh my god! Like, how do you stop this crazy thing?!" A female voice shrieked. Yugi turned his head to see the girl from the beginning of the race, yelling and pressing the horn multiple times. He narrowed his eyes as he noticed her wheels stopping slightly as she pressed it. The horn...He pressed his hand onto the horn, hearing the tires screech as it burned itself onto the concrete and turned sharply for him. Good car, he thought, good car. Wait, does this even count as a car?
Now, he was going fast, but there was another person in front of him, how do you go faster than this? Yugi looked to the side to see the other girl from before take off quickly past him, oh no you don't. Yugi felt anger clench up in his chest as he pressed harder into the seat and he flew up to where the girl went, passing her successfully. That was faster than before...Perhaps you needed to get angry to go fast as well?
This was a weird car, not even a car. No, it was a strange machine to race in. From what he could see, no one was having wrecks. So, maybe it was safe because he was certain not everyone had their driving license. Yugi knew Pegasus would never put his students in danger, he cared too much for them. So, they had to be safe. Yugi made another sharp turn and smirked as he saw the girl from earlier get herself stuck on a wall by accidentally turning too far, did she not know how to back up, or could you even back up in this thing?
"Well, Well." A voice erupted from the radio...Television...thing. "Look at my natural little driver, you're quite good at that, Yugi." Yugi narrowed his eyes at the window of the car. He was not going to turn his head toward the screen, he knew it was different from a radio. From what he could guess, it probably showed Atemu on the screen.
"Flattery will get you nowhere." Yugi hissed out in response, driving faster than anyone else on the track. Now that he heard Atemu's voice, his chest built up in a warmth, anger and...was that amusement? Why was he amused by Atemu? He heard the prince chuckle.
"It's getting me somewhere." Atemu laughed, "I have to say, I'm impressed with how well you're handling that machine."
"It isn't a car, is it?"
"Oh no, it's a car. Just a simpler version of one."
"I find it hard to believe that."
"And I find it hard to believe that you don't like me."
"That is not relevant to anything we're talking about!" Yugi yelled, turning his face to the screen and taking his eyes off the race track. Atemu shrugged and smirked.
"Does it matter?"
"Yes! And besides you need to stop talking to me, I'm trying to concentrate here!"
"Ah yes, I forgot you're racing. By the way, may I warn you that I am only about twenty feet away from you?"
"Wait what?!" Yugi screamed, forcing his hand harshly onto the horn, the leather of it biting into his skin and stinging as he felt the pressure he was pushing with. The car stopped instantly in front of the smirking prince, he was holding a remote control in his hand and was looking down into it. Atemu winked at Yugi and pushed a button, causing him to disappear off of Yugi's screen and to cause a red button to appear on top of the remote device.
Yugi glared at him and kicked his door open, throwing himself out of it and marching toward the prince without even closing it. He grabbed Atemu by the shirt collar and brought him close to his face.
"Do you know how close I was to hitting you?!" Yugi yelled in his face, causing Atemu to close an eye in strain to help protect his ears against the loud yelling invasion. "Did you want to die, you stupid royal-" Atemu pressed a finger to his mouth, making Yugi blink in confusion and let go of his shirt collar.
"If I didn't know any better," Atemu purred. "I'd say you were worried about me." Yugi's face flushed and he quickly looked away, forcing Atemu's finger to fall from his lips.
"In your dreams." Yugi mumbled out, shoving his hands in his pockets. He looked behind himself, seeing students pull up and groan in disappointment. Atemu placed a hand on Yugi's shoulder, bringing him close to him. Yugi opened his mouth to yell at him, but stopped when he saw him place the remote control device in front of him.
"Do you mind pressing this button?" Atemu whispered, gesturing with his finger to the red button at the top. Yugi flinched in shock as he felt his body shiver. Did he have to be so close?
"Depends on what it does." Yugi whispered back with a glare, Atemu chuckled and kept hold of the device. Yugi sighed, taking hold of the object as well, what could happen? The moment he pressed the red button, Atemu came closer and pressed a kiss on his cheek.
"Congrats on winning, Yugi." Atemu breathed out, smiling at how red Yugi's face turned and how wide his eyes had become. The two of them looked up at the sky, seeing bright red fireworks.
Atemu's Race Complete!
:Oh my god, that was so long. Help, hands hurt. Help, brain hurts. By the way, if anyone can tell me what the color of the scooters and the cars mean, then...uh...I'll hug them and give them a cookie! Yeah, that. Anyway! I hope you enjoyed this chapter, Please review!:
