:Hi guys! Sorry for being late again, I've been needing to prepare for school again and it's annoying qq. I hope you enjoy this chapter!:
Serenity yawned into her hand as she walked down the halls of the royal dormitory. Here she was again, early in the morning to deliver yet another message. She had to wake up whenever Pegasus would call her, waking her up many hours before her class even started, saying that she needed to play delivery girl, again. At first she didn't mind, but after this happened every year, it got very tedious and annoying. Plus, a majority of the royals visitors would either act like a snob or flirt with her because they thought she was a student. A compliment and an insult at the same time, sure she was young, but since she was a teacher she should be given respect! So what if she was younger than a majority of the students here, she was still more mature...
At least Joey is here now. Serenity would tell herself when she got angry. She had been happy to surpass her brother, but became even more happy when he became her student! It was so much fun teaching her brother, and he paid plenty of attention to her. He was a good kid, he was just often misunderstood. She continued walking down the halls, looking down at her outfit and hoped she looked okay for a teacher who taught about taking care of animals. She wore a dark green shirt that day and blue jean shorts with dark tennis shoes, she was playing with animals, she had to make sure that she was okay with getting dirty in an outfit.
For a moment, Serenity found herself hoping she looked presentable to the royals here. Why should she care? Because it's royalty, and Joey was chosen to go to lunch with the adviser of the royals. She clenched her fists to her sides, her walking now becoming loud stomps as she felt rage build up in her chest. If the royal knows what's best, he better not do anything perverted to her brother! She took a deep breath, calm down...
She stopped, looking at a dark door that had the word 'Princess' on it. Here she is, Serenity thought with a relieved smile. Good, now to wake up a royal and make her mad. She rose her fist, ready to knock before she rethought her comment. Now come on Serenity...She sighed, these royals aren't that bad. Other than that stupid adviser, she didn't like him. No, not one bit, he looked too stuck up and he's forcing her brother to go lunch with him. Nope, she wanted that one gone. Serenity shook her head, slapping her face to wake her up more and to calm herself down. She rose her hand back up and knocked loudly.
"Princess?" Serenity called out, knocking again. She waited a few moments, she didn't wake her up? She knocked again, louder this time. She called once more, getting louder and louder with each yell...Before she heard a loud thump against the door. Serenity's eyes widened in shock, that sounded like a pillow hitting the door!
"Princess?!" Serenity yelled, wondering if the princess was even in there. Someone had to be in the room though, objects don't move by themselves. She heard a loud thump and a groan come from the inside. Serenity quickly grabbed the knob and forced the door open. She stepped in, and tried to hold in her laughter. In the shining elegant room was a canopy bed, and a princess on the floor with the blanket over her.
The princess laid on the floor, her face a completely calm and peaceful expression as she rested, and her hair a complete and utter mess of tangles. She looked happy but...She had fallen in the floor with the blanket wrapped around her, she was entangled in the thing! How could she sleep?! Serenity felt her eye twitch, was this...really the princess? The day before she looked elegant and beautiful, now she looked like a lazy person who just didn't want to get out of bed.
"P-Princess?" Serenity whispered, walking over to the slumbering princess and kneeling down next to her. She tapped on the princess's head, causing the royal to groan and roll over, making little whimpers as she did this. Serenity began to shake her, trying to be gentle, but ended up shaking her as if she was a mad man. The princess still hadn't woke. The woman was alive, Serenity knew this because for one; she was breathing, and two; the damn royal made noises as she moved!
"My goodness..." Serenity breathed out, she had never seen this kind of behavior from a royal! She would have expected to get this behavior from maybe a prince, if he was raised wrong, but a princess? Did they just not act like royalty? Serenity shook her again, sighing and giving up on waking the sleeping woman. She stood up, reaching into her back pocket and pulling out a pen and notebook.
Serenity grabbed the cap of the pen with her teeth, pulling it off and opening the notebook at the same time. She scribbled some writing onto the notebook, placing the pen into the cap that was held between her jaws. She placed the pen back into her pocket before she ripped off the sheet. She knelt down, placing the piece of paper on top of the princess's face, if she lost it, it would be in the blanket somewhere. She rose her wrist, looking down at a brown leather watch. It read 6:20. She sighed, looking down at the royal before walking to the door, making her exit.
"Ah well, time for school to start."

"We have the option of doing what?" Atemu questioned, resting his cheek on his knuckles as he sat in a velvet cushioned chair, his elbow placed onto the arm of the chair. Seto sighed, flipping through a clipboard boringly. Malik sat in another chair, checking his nails in an unimpressed manner. Seto turned his eyes to the prince, gesturing at the clipboard.
"We have the option of turning in a menu for our lunches before we have ours, however the person who has their lunch today does not get to choose." Seto replied, feeling a headache coming on. He had gotten up when it was supposed to be 2nd period for the students of the school, and had discovered that his room had been set to the lowest setting, making it a chilling cold in his room, therefore, giving him a head cold. Malik had offered to make him hot chocolate, but then he remembered that they didn't have a kitchen there and apologized. The action was heart warming, truly, but with no materials he couldn't go through with it.
"So..." Malk began. "We have time to choose what will appear on the menu when we eat?" Seto nodded, glad that they were understanding him. He let out a small groan as he felt his headache begin to sting, it really did hurt. He rose a hand, placing it on his temple in an attempt to warm it up. Malik pouted, standing up and walking over to Seto. He stood behind the chair and placed his hands into Seto's hair, massaging his scalp. Seto sighed in gratitude as he did this, Malik was always good at massages, and he always came to his friends when they needed something like this.
"That gives us time to figure out what our..." Atemu tried not to smile, and failed completely. "Dates, like to eat..." Seto and Malik flushed a deep red, feeling shocked and embarrassed all of a sudden. It wasn't a date! Was it? Well it kind of was, they would be alone...being served...being alone...eating together...being alone. Seto thought he was going to die from embarrassment, he had already been alone with Joey once, but being alone again, and this time on a real date?!
Malik gulped, going slower and more gentle with his massage. A date with 'Kura? It was like a dream come true, but he was so nervous all of a sudden. What did Bakura like to eat? His hair looked like a cat, maybe he liked Tuna? Maybe he liked milk? Would the menu be Tuna and milk? Malik didn't know what to think.
"I already know what mine likes." Atemu revealed, "So, I'm safe and I'll turn in my knowledge to the chef." Seto and Malik glared at him, internally being jealous of how he already knew what his date liked. It wasn't fair, how could he have figured it out so fast? Did he blackmail the poor boy for it? Atemu narrowed his eyes for a moment, looking around for someone.
"Where is my sister?" Atemu questioned, all of a sudden becoming worried for her. Where was she? He hadn't seen her all day, and that wasn't good.
"Oh," Seto voiced. "She's the one whose having her lunch today, so I didn't think she was needed." Atemu and Malik blinked in shock, okay, but where is she? Malik closed his eyes, stopping his massage due to Seto rolling his shoulders, that usually meant he was to stop. He thought for a moment, where could the princess be? She could be stalking Anzu, but she would usually tell Atemu where she was going.
"Maybe she's still sleeping?" Malik recommended, opening his eyes and putting a hand to his chin. Seto turned his head around to Malik, raising an eyebrow. Still asleep? Was a princess allowed to oversleep? It's already noon for Ra's sake!
"Oh yeah, that could be true." Atemu agreed. "Mana always did sleep in when she could, one time she slept until seven in the afternoon, Seto had gotten so mad." He laughed, remembering when Mana had stayed up all night watching the outdoors and glittering lights of the town. Seto had been angry and worried all day, and when he had found her walking through the halls in her pajamas, he had given her one of the loudest lectures he'd ever heard.
"I-I forgot about that..." Seto admitted, yes Mana did like to sleep in. But after the stunt she pulled so long ago, he had forced her to get up everyday at six in the morning, but now that her alarm wasn't at her side. She could sleep in as long as she wanted! Seto slapped his forehead, he couldn't have this. He would have to purchase her an alarm clock. He wondered if they were allowed to leave the school to go to the store...
"Hey, but if she's the first person to have her lunch and lunch is 4th period." Malik began, starting to think out loud. He turned his eyes to a nearby clock. "And 4th period starts at 1:30...And right now it's a quarter to one..."
"Won't she be late?"
()()()()()()()()()
"Wha..." Mana groaned, waking up slowly. What time is it? She thought, her eyes still closed due to not wanting to truly wake up. She scrunched up her face, she felt...odd...Like her feet and arms felt entangled and twisted, she wasn't on a soft bed, but on a hard floor...and It felt like something light was on her face. She untangled one arm, reaching up and grabbing at her face, feeling a paper-like object resting on top of her nose. She opened one eye with a grunt, raising the paper up and reading it.
Your highness,
Today it is your lunch with Ms. Anzu Mazaki.
Please tell her this and meet up in the cabin behind the royal dorm behind the trees.
The lunch is to start as soon as you both arrive in 4th period.
Have a lovely day, Princess.
- Serenity.
Mana closed her eye and breathed through her nostrils. Who was Serenity? And today's her lunch? Good! She was looking forward to it! But, before she could think about Anzu's lovely features and planning out what she was to do at the dinner...She had to know what time it was. She sat up, finding the reason she felt so entangled, the blanket was wrapped tightly around her in a cluttered mess. She struggled, turning her body around and ended up curling the blanket around her more. She growled, forcing her body out of the blanket and tripped over it as she stood back up, landing harshly on the floor and making her let out a loud squeak of surprise.
"Today is just not my day..." Mana groaned, picking herself up off the floor into a kneeling position. She sighed, scratching the back of her head and feeling it in tangles and, in a sense, dirty. She had forgotten to shower yesterday, why was she so tired? All she had to do was stand in one spot for a whole day! In the godforsaken heat! But she was from Egypt, she was supposed to be used to it! She took note of the cool temperature in her room. Oh right, they were in air conditioning now...No wonder! She rose to her feet, stretching as she yawned and made a tired glance at the clock in her room...Huh...It's one...4th period starts in thirty minutes...Mana's eyes widened, wait...
"Ah! I'm going to be late!"
()()()()()()()()
Anzu took deep, and yet soothing breaths as she balanced on her tiptoes. Calm...Slow your breathing...Become one with the sound around you and just relax. She told herself, taking in her training. She closed her eyes, letting her body flow away from her control. Let your body feel the music, let your body take control, it'll know what to do. She felt a smooth electricity run up her spine, to be an expert dancer, you must excel in all dances...
She kept her eyes closed as she began to spin on one foot, using the other to take steps around as she twirled. Letting her body feel the gentle tune spreading amongst the area. She was walking, dancing, she felt like air as she became one with the feeling. She felt her body stop, oh? What will you do now? She felt it place one foot further away from the other, pressing her chest forward and her arms spreading out as if asking for a deep embrace. It moved again, resuming it's twirl and taking a small leap in the air.
Anzu could feel sweat rolling down her face, ignoring everything but the music as she spun. She stopped, taking a large leap in the air as she spun and landed on the soles of her feet, before her body took a bow to the watching students. She heard clapping come from her fellow students, feeling pride spark up in her blood. Yes! They liked it! She stood up straight, regaining control of her body and looked to her teacher. Who had tan skin with beautiful black hair kept in various ponytails in the back, and her dark eyes shining in the light of the beautiful white dancing room. She was smiling brightly at Anzu and clapping as well. Her teacher was, in a word, amazing, a Canadian and yet Indian at the same time, she was a famous dancer at one point in her life but she had quit and decided to teach dancing here.
"Very good, Anzu." Her teacher stepped forward, placing a hand onto her shoulder. Anzu beamed up at her, breathing heavily.
"Thank you Ms. Rao!" She excitedly replied. Their teacher's full name was Aileen Rao, and she taught all of her students all of the different dancing techniques, today they were focusing on ballet. Aileen closed her eyes and smiled once more as she heard a loud ringing go throughout the school building. There was only one bell throughout the whole school day, the bell to announce that all classes have ended. Aileen smiled and clapped her hands together.
"Alright class!" She called out. "Tomorrow we will focus on belly dancing, so please look forward to it and be careful on the way back to your dorms!" The students cheered happily and waved goodbye to their teacher. Anzu nodded, waving as she walked out of the class to a nearby room, the changing room mainly. They always danced in a tank top, sweatpants and floor gripping socks, so she was forced to change everyday. She entered a large changing room, seeing many of her other fellow classmates as well.
Anzu walked to a large rack, where many uniforms were hung up. Anzu grabbed one with a pink tag, if you didn't place a tag on the uniforms they would get taken, so you had to color code it and place your name on it. She checked the name, happy to see her own name be printed onto it. She walked back to the room, beginning to strip and let her mind wander.
This morning had been, in a word, boring. The boys had been so tired they wouldn't even talk. Joey, of course, still chatted endlessly, but Yugi and Bakura just ate and left. Anzu felt tired, but they looked dead tired, perhaps they had stayed up all night? How could they though? As soon as she had returned to her dorm she had showered and thrown herself onto her bed, going to sleep almost immediately. Yugi had slept during cooking class that day, but it was okay because all they were doing was practicing how to make chocolate. Probably because it was February...But Yugi didn't need to practice, he was already good at it. The only reason she kind of minded was because she needed help making it! But she didn't bug him, he was small, he needed rest from yesterday.
Anzu finished changing, adjusting her tie and sleeves before she headed out of the changing room, waving goodbye to some of her friends. She walked out, beginning to head to the cafeteria, before she heard someone running in the hallways like a madman. She turned around, seeing Mana running, out of everyone in the world, a royal was running in the hallway! It was...kind of funny.
Mana ran up to Anzu, stopping in front of her and placing her hands on her knees to catch her breath. Anzu blinked in confusion as she looked over the princess, she looked disheveled. Her hair was soaking wet and still had some soap in it, her uniform was wrinkled and the tie wasn't completely adjusted and all in all, the poor girl looked plain tired! She watched as the princess wiped her forehead clear of sweat. Anzu looked down at her worriedly.
"Are you okay?" She questioned, placing a hand on her shoulder. Mana nodded, standing straight up and brushing off her wrinkled clothing.
"I..." She gasped out before taking in another breath. "I-I think so..." Anzu felt bad for her, what could have happened for her to come running to her like this? And also...Shouldn't a princess look more presentable? Anzu looked around, kids were heading off, ignoring the scene between her and the royal. She took hold of Mana's hand, causing her to let out a gasp.
"Follow me." Anzu ordered, breaking out into a soft jog as she went down the halls, dragging along a, probably, confused royal. Mana looked at the back of Anzu's head, wondering where they were going and why she didn't just say that they were supposed to go to the lunch. They were supposed to go there during fourth period and the more time away from the cabin, the less time they could be spending time together! But, she's holding your hand at least. Mana felt her face turn a slight pink, that was true...Anzu was holding her hand.
Anzu stopped in front of a large pair of dark royal purple doors. She placed a hand onto it and pushed it open with a grunt, walking in and looking around. Mana blinked in confusion at the room. Where were they? Around the room were endless mirrors and closets and makeup centers, and two other doors inside, one reading changing room and the other reading showers. Okay, what the hell is this?
"Ms. Himekoji?" Anzu called out, looking to the door that read Changing room to see a young woman step out. She looked young and...to tell the truth...full of herself. She wore a bright red dress that flowed down to her ankles and revealed one leg to show she was wearing high-heeled matching sandals, on her hands were elbow length gloves. Her ruffled orange hair rested gently on her shoulders and her brown eyes that were darkened with unseen menace narrowed as she looked at the royal Anzu was holding hands with.
"Yes?" She spoke, placing a hand on her hip as she looked over the girl behind her. She knew it was the princess, so why were the boys getting so worked up over such a girl. She looked horrible in that outfit! She would possibly look better if she fixed her appearance, but royals often don't let her touch their hair. Her full name was Kaoruko Himekoji, and she taught the beauty and fashion class. It was a class for anyone who wanted to look their best and win any man or woman's heart.
"Please, can you help me fix up Mana?" Anzu requested, feeling Mana suddenly stiffen. Oh, don't tell me she's one of the royals that don't like their hair messed with! Mana looked at Anzu, who looked frightened and confused. Why did Anzu want to help her? Mana was happy, she really was, but she was confused. Was Anzu helping because she was being friendly or because she was genuinely worried and might even possibly...like her? Mana felt herself blush. Kaoruko's eyes widened and blinked in shock, help fix up a royal?
"Is she..." Kaoruko turned her eyes away, as if embarrassed. "Okay with me, helping her?" Anzu turned around, her hand still holding Mana's tightly, she caught Mana's eyes with her own, making the royal turn a brighter color in the face. Mana gulped and nodded hesitantly, Anzu looked so...well...sexy when she looked at her like that, her eyes sharp and narrowed...She almost squealed at the sight, and here she thought Anzu always looked like an innocent beautiful girl. That face could pull off any kind of attitude.
"P-Please do..." Mana spoke, bowing her head slightly, as if apologizing to the young teacher. Kaoruko's mouth dropped open in amazement. She was going to be able to fix up a royal?! Oh, yes! She smiled brightly and rushed forward, expertly walking fast due to the fact she always wore high heels. She grabbed the intertwined hands with both of her own and almost blinded the two girls with her smile.
"Well, if you insist then!" She spoke happily. "Please come this way!" She began to drag both girls, sending a wink Anzu's way. Anzu knew she was going to be apart of this too, whenever Anzu asked to fix up someone she was always forced into something new too.
"It'll take no time at all!" Kaoruko squealed to herself, she really did seem excited...She clapped her hands and pushed both girls into the changing rooms.
"Don't worry! After all, I'm the expert at this!"
()()()()()()()()()()
Kaoruko smiled triumphantly, dusting her hands off as she stepped out of the changing room. She never felt so alive! She just had the once in a lifetime opportunity to touch the hair of royalty! And an added bonus was the fact that Anzu hadn't fought her off in her attempts to dress her up! In the past, Kaoruko had regarded Anzu as one of the more boring students in her class, but after she showed her skills with beauty and her knowledge of fashion, she instantly became one of her favorite students. She always loved getting her into new designs and such.
Kaoruko let out a satisfied sigh and turned around, clapping her hands and hearing the two girls behind the door let out a squeak.
"Come on out you two!"
"How can we come out when you have us blindfolded?!"
"Oh right, Oopsie!" She giggled, she hadn't forgotten, she had just wanted to see if they would attempt to open the door. Kaoruko had blindfolded them for one purpose and one purpose alone, for them to be bedazzled by each other. She might not have mentioned this, but she did notice the way the princess was staring at her favorite student, and although this made her feel woozy, she noticed Anzu casting side glances at the royal. She was excellent in beauty and fashion, why couldn't she be great at helping Anzu get someone she liked? Although she assumed at one point she would be dating that short kid she always hung around...
She took a step forward, opening the door and reaching in, grabbing the girl's arms with her hands, the girls being blindfolded by a dark brown cloth. She dragged them out, a bright smile on her face as they stumbled forward and tried to stand up properly. Kaoruko giggled and removed the blindfolds at the same time, and held out her arms as if to present them something.
"Vuala!" Kaoruko cheered, putting her hands together as she admired her work. The princess had been dressed in a mature dark green dress that complimented her pine green eyes with matching elbow length gloves and dark brown high heeled sandals that you could barely see against her skin. Her hair had been brushed and thoroughly rinsed, giving it a shining look and allowing it to take it's natural look on her shoulders.
Mana looked down at herself, she just wanted to wear the uniform, was this dress necessary? And why had the teacher blinded them in the first place? She turned her eyes next to her, the breath suddenly leaving her as she witnessed Anzu in...quite the outfit. The blue eyed beauty had been dressed in a tight, skin gripping magenta dress that was quite the length away from her knees while wearing only inch tall white heels, her hair had been put into a bun and in it rested a golden flower hairpin, complimenting this outfit was gold bracelets, one on her left, and two on her right. Mana couldn't do anything but stare, and was that a touch of makeup on Anzu's face? Anzu looked so breathtaking, and just plain gorgeous. Was there a word in the dictionary to describe this beauty?!
Anzu turned her head to Mana, who blinked in shock. She looked mature, royal, elegant...Everything she was meant to be. She had an overcoming aura, one that could blind you in less than a second and could force you to do anything and everything. Gosh, the wonders her teacher could do. Mana looked good before, but now she looked absolutely stunning to the eye! Anzu wanted to smack herself, no no. She was beginning to blush, she couldn't have that! She didn't like the royal that way, she's a girl...and it wasn't allowed, was it? Atemu liked Yugi a lot, so would it be a crime to her to like Anzu? Or was she just thinking that it was a crime so she could deny everything? Anzu shook her head, telling herself to shut up. Stop thinking stupid things! She turned her eyes to her teacher.
"Thank you Ms. Himekoji." Anzu thanked, reaching forward and placing a kiss on her teacher's cheek in a friendly gesture. Kaoruko smiled at the motion and nodded at her, taking a swift glance to the royal to find the girl glaring at her. Oh, royals and their crushes, how their temper can rise!
Anzu and Mana waved, voicing their thanks again to the teacher as they closed the door. Mana looked down at her wrist, expecting to see a watch and remembered that Ms. Himekoji had taken their uniforms. She turned her head to Anzu in a panic.
"What about our uniforms?!" Mana asked, if she didn't have her uniform Seto would freak! Anzu giggled at the outburst, ah she was worried about that. It was understandable, after all the royals had looked like they had enjoyed being in the outfit.
"Don't worry about it." Anzu told her, gesturing for her to calm down with a hand. "I'll be sure to return the uniform, but first I need to ask something." She turned her full body to Mana, causing her to suddenly blush out of nowhere. Hey! I was supposed to be the one in control here! Mana yelled at herself, finding herself saddened that Anzu could make her blush as easily as Mana could to her. Anzu crossed her arms.
"'Why on earth were you running through the hallway?" She asked, curiosity laced in her voice. Mana's eyes widened, suddenly grabbing Anzu's wrist and running at godspeed...In high-heels?! Anzu was impressed for vaguely a moment before she realized Mana was dragging her as if she was trying to save her from death.
"H-Hey! W-Where-" Anzu began to speak before Mana stopped abruptly. Mana turned her head, narrowing her eyes in an emotion that Anzu couldn't place. Okay, was she in trouble? She watched as Mana looked around for something, noticing how the princess's eyes rested on a clock and let out a sigh of relief at the time. What? What was going on? Mana removed her eyes from the clock and smirked at Anzu.
"Come on, I think we're late for lunch."
()()()()()()()()()()
What kind of lunch is going to be found in a forest?! Anzu screamed to herself as she followed Mana against her will, she was kind of holding her hand and refusing to let go. At first she had expected Mana to take her to the cafeteria but then she had began to run to the outside area and head off to this strange castle thing, going behind it and plunging into the forest near it! Was the royal on crack or something?
"Mana!" Anzu yelled, trying to get the royal to stop running. Mana didn't look back at her, she just kept running, she didn't know what time it was now. But she knew she was going to have at least one hour to eat! She pressed on, smiling when she saw a small, but good sized cabin, with a young man in front of it wearing the school uniform, the mans hair was an odd shape and contained the color of lime green, his eyes were odd and a dark color. He looked over at the royals, sighing in relief as the two girls stopped in front of him, both Mana and Anzu were taking in his odd appearance.
"It is about time you showed up." The male spoke. "We were about to think that you would not come, please follow me." Anzu sighed, finally recognizing the kid when they were lead into the small cabin. Espa Roba, a kid who often said he was psychic and loved to trick people, one time he had tricked Joey along with his twin brothers, but Anzu had stepped in and gave a lecture to the boys. Joey for being so easily tricked, and Espa and his family for picking on Joey.
The inside of the cabin looked nothing like it's ordinary brown wood from the outside, on the inside was dark blue wallpaper with brown carpet, in the center of the room was a table with a white table cloth. Resting on top of it were two daisies in a glass vase, along with silverware and plates, and right next to the table were two chairs sitting across from each other.
"Please sit." Espa said, gesturing to the table. "We will bring your lunch in just a moment." They were supposed to serve them an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. But since the two girls were late, they only had enough time to provide them with an entree, and if they ate fast enough they might have time to eat the dessert. Espa and his brother's were good cooks, surprisingly and always took the job of special lunches. Now, since both of them were girls and they were short on time, they had to make simple dishes. Hopefully, they wouldn't become too mad at them...
Anzu and Mana walked to the table, taking a seat across from each other. The two sat there awkwardly, not knowing what to do now that they were there. Here they were, all dressed up and such, and they couldn't even talk! Mana looked at Anzu, noticing how she began to play with her fork and make it twirl on her plate, as if she was making it dance. She forced it to twirl and move across the plate, making it leap every now and then. Mana let out a soft giggle, acquiring Anzu's attention and making her flush.
"Do you always play with your silverware?" Mana questioned in a playful manner as she smiled at the little dance Anzu was making the fork perform. Anzu pouted at the question, feeling her face become even brighter.
"Only when I want to memorize a dance..." Anzu whispered, placing her fork down and folding her hands over in her lap. Mana looked at her sadly, disappointed she did not continue her little fork dance. She bit the inside of her cheek, looking to a door to the side she hadn't noticed before, is that the kitchen or the bathroom? She returned her eyes to Anzu, seeing her stare down at her hands. Mana sighed.
"Thank you." Mana uttered out softly. Anzu snapped her head up in shock, thank you? For what?
"What for?" She asked, furrowing her eyebrows together as she tried to think of why. Mana smiled softly at her, feeling her heart begin to swell at the fact she didn't know. She was cute when she was oblivious...
"For helping me and..." Mana grabbed the edge of her glove and pulled it down some. "Giving me a new outfit." Anzu's eyes widened and blushed, she only did that to be friendly...She looked down once more, fiddling with the edge of her dress, which seemed to have a mind of it's own and ride up a small bit.
"Y-You're welcome..." Anzu replied, shuffling her legs a little. She felt nervous all of a sudden, well you're alone with a girl who you always act flustered around. And you hadn't asked why she was acting crazy this morning. She rose her eyes back up.
"Um, May I ask why you were running down the hallway like some crazy madman?" Anzu decided to ask, feeling like it was a good question to ask, after all she hadn't answered her the first time. Mana turned her eyes away, feeling her heart clench in embarrassment.
"I overslept and..." Mana bit her lip. "I was supposed to come get you for the lunch, but instead I stayed in bed and made us late..." She silently prayed Anzu wouldn't get mad at her for that, she knew Anzu probably wasn't looking forward to it as much as she was, but it was still food. Anzu put a hand to her mouth, beginning to laugh into it, this confused Mana to an extreme level.
"I-I-" Anzu laughed more. "I-I don't think royalty is supposed to-" She let out a loud laugh that interrupted her sentence as she felt her sides hurting. "A-Are you allowed to stay in bed?" She finally uttered out, trying to calm herself down. Mana blinked in shock, her cheeks becoming a bright red. Anzu's laugh was so cute...
"No, I'm not actually." Mana answered, allowing herself to smile. For some reason, Anzu laughing had made things a little less awkward. "Last time I stayed in bed, I got yelled at by Seto." Anzu began to laugh again, making Mana begin to laugh as well as it made it's way into her ears.
"Really? How long did you sleep?"
"I slept until seven in the afternoon."
"What?! How can someone sleep that long?!"
"I was enjoying the scenery, curse me for loving Egypt in it's sleeping hours."
"Yes! Curse you! You're a princess and you should not sleep too long, it could ruin your complexion!"
"I can't tell if you're being serious or not, you sound so much like Seto."
"I'm not being serious and thanks! Now, I feel insulted!" Anzu laughed more, trying to hold it in but began to fail by laughing louder. Mana had to follow, her laughs became louder and longer. The power of laughter was strong, it could turn even the most awkward atmosphere into a playful funny one. The two calmed down their laughter as they saw Espa walk through the door with a silver tray in his hands.
"I hope you do not mind these dishes." Espa spoke, apology hinted in his voice. "We had limited time, so..."
"Please," Mana said, in a gentle voice that paused the boy's thoughts. "We will not mind at all, thank you." She smiled sweetly, ignoring how the boy's cheeks began to brighten and nod. He reached onto the tray, grabbing and placing plates and glasses filled with a clear liquid in front of the girls. Espa bowed quickly and darted out of the room, his face burning brightly.
"Limited time, but they have enough to make salads?" Mana questioned with an eyebrow risen as she looked down at her food. It was a plate of salad, complimented with chopped strawberries and cherries amongst the dish. Just how she liked her salads, she always enjoyed putting fruit in almost everything! She looked over at Anzu's dish to find that she had a normal salad with dressing on it.
"At least they didn't make simple lunch meat sandwiches." Anzu commented with a giggle, she reached for the glass in front of her. She took hold of it and raised it to her lips, taking a small sip. She jerked it away from her mouth and stared at it in shock.
"White wine?!" She yelled, Mana's eyes widened. Wine? For high schoolers? Mana reached for her own glass, taking a small sip once she took hold of it. It did taste funny, she never tasted wine because she always thought she should be older but then again...
"How do you know this is white wine?" Mana questioned, eying the glass as she rotated it in her hand. Anzu sighed, placing her glass down.
"Ms. Himekoji brought some in one time," She explained. "Said that in order to obtain mature beauty was to like mature things, you have no idea how many people got drunk. I took one sip and placed it down, I liked it but I wasn't going to drink it." She grabbed her glass, taking another sip. Mana noted this down, so she likes it, but doesn't want to drink it, but around her she seems to be drinking it. Well, what else is there to drink?...Mana pouted at her own question, point taken.
"I think you look fine as you are now." Mana commented, deciding it was a right time for her to say this. Anzu blushed a slight pink. "In fact, I would have to say that you look beautiful, so do not believe things like that, okay?" Anzu felt her heart race faster and her face grow brighter. Dang it, here's the flirting again...She wanted Mana to stop, but in a sense, didn't want her to. She was charmed by it, but the way it made her feel was weird. She was so sure she was into Atemu and Yugi, so why was this happening? She looked at Mana, holding in a gasp as her blue eyes were locked with the royal's green, those eyes were so mesmerizing...
"Well now," Mana said, smiling as she noticed that her flirting was having an effect on Anzu, as it should be. "Let us not waste time, come on let's eat." Anzu nodded, grabbing hold of her fork and began to eat her salad slowly, enjoying the taste of the dressing and fresh food. Mana ate her own salad, taking glances at Anzu as she ate. She ate slowly, savoring her food and the sight of the person across from her.
"Would you like to try mine?" Mana asked, stabbing her salad and gaining a strawberry slice and a couple pieces of green with it. Anzu blushed and nodded hesitantly, now this really did seem like a date...She rose her fork up to Anzu's lips, watching as she opened and allowed her to place the food in. Anzu chewed slowly, enjoying how the strawberry mixed well with the green of the salad, so this is why she didn't need dressing. Anzu smiled and voiced that it was good, making Mana happy and give her another bite. This lunch...It wasn't as bad as she thought it would be, it surprised her because she had forgotten it for a moment. But, she was having fun with the royal. Maybe...Maybe the thought of liking her wasn't so bad after all, but she couldn't be too sure. They had only been here for a couple days, she couldn't rush things. For now, she should just savor their normal...-ish friendship.
"Here, I dare you try your strawberry with my dressing."
"That's going to be gross, Anzu."
"C'mon! Please?"
"Alright, Alright!"

Mana walked beside Anzu, smiling at how successful the lunch had gone. She really seemed like she had gotten closer to Anzu, and she even seemed to have warmed up to her. Anzu had started to talk to her about her classes, and even about funny times with her friends. After they had eaten, Mana had offered to walk her to her dorm, after all that was what she was supposed to do, right? Anzu stopped and pointed at a large glowing pink and white building, it was dark but it wasn't curfew yet, so being out like this wasn't a bad thing. The two girls walked up to the entrance of the dormitory and faced one another, Anzu was thankful no one was out at this time, this was kind of embarrassing.
"I uh..." Anzu began, feeling more embarrassed then ever, Mana was looking at her so weirdly, so...Affectionately. "I had a good time, thank you." She smiled, feeling her cheeks become warm as Mana smiled back down at her.
"I had a good time too, thank you for everything today." Mana replied, taking Anzu's own words for her own. Anzu bit her lip, telling herself she shouldn't do what she was about to do. She looked around, making sure no one was in sight. She sighed and moved her face toward Mana's, placing a gentle kiss on the princess's cheek. Mana's eyes looked as if they were going to burst out of her head, huh? Her heart began to beat faster and she felt her face start to ignite into a fierce flame, she rose a hand to her cheek. She...She kissed me? Anzu smiled sweetly at the royal, when you're treated a good time, you're supposed to kiss the person on the cheek, right?
"Goodnight, Mana." Anzu whispered softly, her heart going at a quick pace as she entered the dorm, hearing Mana reply to her just before she shut the dorm's door.
"G-Goodnight, Anzu..."
