V 10 Ch 8
The worst that can happen
Azayaka looked down at her bandaged leg. She sighed. Why was she still in the hospital? There were far worse off than she was. She flopped onto the bed, looking up at the ceiling. I can't stand these places. They're so morbid and depressing. Azayaka rose as soon as she heard a knock at the door.
"I'm sorry, " the nurse bowed. "We're overpacked for room in the hospital. Do you mind sharing yoru room with another person?"
"N-no, of course not," she stammered. The nurse issued the stretcher in from behind her. Azayaka's eyes stared. She was expecting another girl, but not this.
A tall guy wearing a green hoodie over his head was snarling at the staff. He said a few curse words under his breath. "Unhand me you wretched cow," Goro threw the pillow at the nurse. "I am not a child!"
Azayaka kept staring at his rudeness. She couldn't really see his face. All that was visible was his goatee sticking out from under the hood.
"What are you looking at," he snapped. goro was hit square in the face with a pillow. It fell into his lap. He narrowed his eyes at the girl in the other bed with purple hair tied behind her back.
"A child," Azayaka said with a bit of sass in her voice.
"Sister, you better back off," Goro said turning himself fully around. He placed his feet on the floor attempting to get out of the bed. The girl seemed ready for him. She was pounding her fist into her hand. "Really now..." The moment he arose, the door flew open.
Another nurse entering the room held a tray of medicine. "Get back in your bed! You're not supposed to be standing!"
Goro plopped back down.
The nurse walked in fussing at Goro. "What would your sister have to say about how you are behaving? Honestly, to have such a troublesome brother as you to look after!" She took out a syringe flicking the contents with her finger to make sure there were no air bubbles. "Teine has her hands full assisting with patients. I shouldn't have to fetch her to make sure you are acting properly in this place." She pointed at Goro, moving her finger in a circle.
Goro crossed his arms having had enough of what he was going through. "Forget it. You'll have to fight me if you expect me to-" Goro felt his ankles wrapped with bandages. He was lifted off the bed, pulled straight up into the air. He snarled immensly at the nurse as he was whirled around into position. His arms came up slashing at the bandages.
The nurse kept her hands in the 'ox' formation, eyes focused intently on her disgruntled patient. "I have ways of dealing with unreasonable people." The more Goro fought, the more bandages sprung up to keep him tied.
Azayaka jumped as bandages flew up in all directions, binding to his wrists. They tightened, slamming him back onto the bed. Goro's stomach was bed side down, rear in full view. The nurse walked calmly to the young man, lowering his pants. She drove the syringe into his rear without any bedside manner.
Goro grit his teeth as he felt the needle go straight into his butt.. The bandages loosened once she was finished with him. He turned around, the pain in his rear from the shot hitting him. "What the hell was that?"
"Now, dear," the nurse said sweetly to Azayaka. "It's your turn." She stiffled a laugh. the girl's face was rather bewildered. "Oh, no, no, no. You won't be getting the same shot as him," she said jerking a finger towards Goro. "I just have to put this cream on your wound."
"But you-," Azayaka pointed hesitantly at Goro.
"Oh, me," the nurse said cutting the old bandages off. She lathered her hands with the cream before pressing the cream onto Azayaka's wound. "Goro's bark is worse than his bite. always getting himself hurt - and always causing the staff trouble. I can handle him," she confirmed with a smile.
"I'm still here you old croan," Goro slammed his fist onto the mattress.
"All done," the nurse said with the final wrap of the fresh bandage. "You should be able to go home soon." Turning arund, she gathered the tray of medicine she had left near the door. The nurse turned her head slightly to look at Goro. "Your sister will be in here shortly to check on you," she said with a final huff.
Goro's jaw dropped. "Stop bothering her with minor details!" He threw Azayaka's pillow at the door so hard it hit the nurse in the rear. He heard her yell at him from the other side of the door as it shut behind her.
Azayaka looked straight ahead, not believing who she had to roommate with. "Tetnus shot huh?" She heard him roll over grumbling. Quietly, she turned her gaze to steal a glance at Goro. His back was to her, pants slightly down. She faced forward with a blush seeing the top of his firm rear.
Goro wasn't aware his pants were fallen. He had fallen asleep hard after he had exerted a bit of aggression at the nurse. Two days of relentless fighting had worn him out.
(Scene Change)
"This doesn't look good," Yobun said it as everyone else was thinking it. Had Lord Gekido been defeated? The explosions set off a tremor that shook the ground in all directions. He waited for a signal - a sign to move forward.
Kegasu sneered, his aggravation at continuning the assault apparent. "What are we gaining from this? The brat's not here. If she had been, we would have felt the power of the phoenix."
"I agree," Mabuta said. "It's not adding up why we're delibrately destroying the Leaf. They have many allies. Our confrontation won't go unnoticed."
"We must wait for a signal," Kegasu said firmly. "Unless you want to experience Lord Gekido's wrath." None of them liked that idea. Gekido was fast and brutal just like his quiet temper. Their lightening jutsu was deadly, but one swift hit from Gekido made i tlook like static electricity. "Fine, we'll wait, but I am bored with this direction."
Kakumei Eimino sat against a tree, his body aching all over. He opened his puffy eyes examining the lot around him. They had made it out of the village only to remain empty handed. He tried to stand only to fall against the tree.
Wani crossed his arms. "So the mighty Kakumei gets a little burnt and now he can't control his squad?" He walked over putting his foot on the superior officer's armor. "You're losing your edge. How much time do you think you have left?"
Kakumei growled. He grabbed a hold of Wani's ankle, fingers gripping the bone intensly. It would be so easy for him to snap the man's bones in two. "Injuries are a sign of loyalty!" Kakumei pushed the man backwards so hard he fell onto his rear.
Hanzai snorted. "Let's stop playing, children. We're more dignified than that." The men straightened their backs. "What makes you think Lord Gekido will need us after he gains control of the phoenix?" That made them start thinking about their positions. "I'm starting to believe we are chasing a dream."
"Watch your mouth, harlot," Kakumei said wincing as he stood. "Treachery won't be tolerated in my squad. You are already on a thin rope since that screw up of yours back at the Leaf village. It's just enough to hang you."
"No. It will not be tolerated," General Senko said walking towards the group. "We've done what we were ordered to do." He quieted the group with a flick of his wrist. Their eyes stared in the direction of Lord Gekido. His face was solemn, hardened by his own quest of power and authority.
"Despite the phoenix elluding us, one goal has been accomplished. The dragon tied to the aid of the phoenix, has been severed," Lord Gekido said. the lightening-nin's surprised faces told him everything. "Like a plague, that brat shows up at the worst of times."
"We were supposed to be after a celestial bird, not a mythological dragon," Omou said, his gray eyes full of anger. "Our information sources failed to give us an inquiry about this new evidence."
"I am not moved by your words," Lord Gekido stated. "For this outcome to work as planned, my information sources must outrank yours." Omou fell silent. "My clan will be reborn as it was meant to be. I won't have any unprofessional entanglements get in the way." He shot his calm collected gaze at each of them. Treachery was hanging by a thread with a few of them. Gekido had ot reform his men, or lose the cause he was fighting for. "Your oaths to me were by blood and by blood I shall take it from you if any of you think otherwise."
Hanzai looked away. I'll play along to see how far this goes. I don't trust a man that kills his own brother over a proper inheritance.
Fushoku brought them back to another matter. "What of Buitai and Taraeru? They were caught. Are we to leave them behind?"
"For now," General Senko confirmed. "They have been trained how to get out of this type of situation. And if they can't, they don't deserve to return."
Fushoku felt more tense as the Generals ordered them to depart from their location. He shot off with the lightening-nin, Yobun's dog, Riko, straight behind him. "Doesn't it bother you that we left Kyu? It's a valuable weapon."
Yobun kept his eyes straight ahead. "They won't be able to hack into his system. And if they try, Kyu's auto defense mechanism will kick in." He made an exploding sound with his mouth. "Bye, bye, Konoha ninja."
(Scene Change)
Takeru stood silently as the sun started to set in Konoha. He stared out into nothing, his mind numb, as well as, his spirit. In front of him Eiyu Hyuuga lay with his face covered by a cloth. The boy he had fought with over Onari was dead. He had died defending Takeru and Ryu in order to give them time to get away from their enemy.
Ryu stood behind him, his shoulder bound. His best friend had broken his shoulder in the fight against Buitai. All that was left of his team was he and he alone. Takeru didn't consider Azayaka part of his team for she was an outsider. He wouldn't look ahead. He couldn't. Takeru was afraid he would break down in front of everyone.
He grit his teeth, his fists shaking. The emotions in him were struck in his throat. This was the first funeral he had ever attended. Dead. Not moving. Eiyu was not there. That was not his team mate. It was a corpse.
The Hyuugas stood together in front of everyone, their faces solemn and placid. Kandai was next to his mother who was trying her best to keep it together. Takeru's shoulders started to tremble. He brought his hand up to shield his face. What was wrong with him? He hated Eiyu - didn't he?
Saori had been friends with the Hyuugas since they were little. Her parents were close to a lot of the ninja from previous teams - that's how they all knew each other. She held Kandai's hand firmly. He was doing well considering his brother was gone.
Saori's family was behind the Uchiha. It was hard explaining death to Chame, her brother. They had lost a good number of people against the lightening-nin who had attacked the village.
Clean up for the village was haulted until everyone was recovered and buried. Saori could hear Takeru shuffling behind her. She glanced over her shoulder. His head was downcast. He seemed to be bothered by something.
She turned back around.
Saori forgot Takeru was the youngest out of everyone on the teams. Eiyu was being lowered into the ground. She tensed. Everyone bowed with respect.
Takeru jerked. Daiya grabbed his arm trying to hold him in place. Once everyone stood back up, Takeru broke free from his brother. He turned hastily running away from the area.
Izumi placed her hand on Daiya's back. "Leave him be. He doesn't understand, Daiya." She hugged TenTen hard, her hand across her shoulder. "I'm sorry," she said in a soft voice. TenTen could only nod.
Saori held Kandai as he laid his head on her shoulder. It was a day of mourning for her friend. Saori could only look away as flowers were dropped onto Eiyu's grave.
(Scene Change)
Goro crossed his arms his head covered by the dark green hoodie he wore. "Aren't I a little old to be babysitting some brat on a team," he said in a low tone of voice. He stood with his legs apart, head slightly shifted. "There are more important things to be done. Such as, repairing the village and securing it."
Okami sat on a boulder piece from part of the wall that protects Konoha. He spit tobacco to the side his hand upon his knee. "The team they want you on just lost their leader in the attack. They need a replacement," he said simply. "You're the best candidate I could think of. Why are you opposed to it?"
Goro looked up at this long time friend. "Because I shouldn't be taking lower class missions. I have my sister and I to care for. You know that."
"Which brings to mind, Teine wouldn't have a problem with you being on a team again. You could make friends, enjoy yourself," Okami started before he heard Goro scoff at him. "Goro, look, as you've aged, you've been more in control of 'it', so you need not worry."
"Who said I was worried," Goro threw back as he looked at Okami out of the corner of his eye.
The man lowered his eyes. "Your fangs are showing.."
Goro flipped his head around closing his mouth. He ran his tongue over the top of his teeth to make sure they went down. It wasn't like him to get out of control over a petty argument such as this.
Okami stood stretching his back. He started picking up pieces of the wall throwing everything into a pile. "Back to work," he told Goro.
Goro ignored his friend returning to his duty.
(Scene Change)
The rain poured over the land, a cold feeling encasing the village. Sakura Lee stood outside the hospital where she had been working nonstop to aid the injured. The weather was bleak. Groups of men, women, and ninja teams were still going strong cleaning up the village. She felt a coat being placed over her shoulders.
Rock Lee was next to his wife looking out at the distant wet area of land. "You need to keep warm. All are needed. We can't have you getting sick."
Sakura nodded forward. "What about them? This weather is awful. They'll catch the death of a cold."
Lee downed a plastic poncho. "As long as we're covered, we should be fine. It has to be done." He walked off to help in the relief efforts.
Sakura had to admire his persistance. She thought back to a time when she had chased Sasuke without any real positive outcome. Her heart still ached for the pain regarding the past. Now all she could do was watch him from afar. Sasuke had moved on to have his own family.
Temari folded her arms as she leaned against the door frame of the building. "Thinking about golden times?" Sakura jumped as she came back to the present. "What are you thinking about with that absent minded look on your face?"
Sakura sighed. "Regrets I can't change. Nothing more." She closed her eyes.
"Sakura, a decade has passed. I don't think Lee would approve of you fantasizing about Sasuke," Temari said boldly. She shook her head. "When are you going to move on?"
"How do you always know when I'm thinking of him," she asked having been found out so easily.
"You sigh in an aloof way, like you don't realize you're doing it," Temari said.
"It's not easy to see your first love move on," Sakura confided.
"That may be true, but perhaps you should be happy for him, instead of regretting not being the one who may have swayed his decision."
Sakura knew she had no right to dislike Izumi. The woman was a force to be reckoned with. However, she had no reason to like her either.
"Didn't he try to kill you a few times," Temari reminded her. "Lee loves you to pieces. Sometimes, you have to settle for people who cherish you - flaws and all- over someone who disregards your existence."
Before Sakura could comment, the door behind them opened. Saori walked through dragging her feet. "Mom, where can I sleep? I'm so tired," she whined.
"I didn't realize you were still here," Temari said.
"Sensei punished me for speaking out of place," Saori said rather annoyed. "I've been here since Eiyu's funeral."
That sounds like Sasuke, Sakura thought.
"You're no good to anyone without being productive. Go rest in the broom closet where he can't find you," Temari said solving the issue. "If he comes looking for you, I'll say you're on an errand."
Saori turned around shuffling back inside.
"He's out there working isn't he," Temari asked secretly thinking Sakura stalked the man.
"They all are," Sakura answered not catching onto the hint in Temari's voice.
(Scene Change)
The rain poured down onto Takeru's skin numbing him to the bone. He pushed a piece of debris, his feet sliding in the mud until he fell onto his stomach with a thud. Angrily, he stood up pushing the rock as he pressed his toes into the ground.
A ninja stood watching Takeru from afar. I suppose without that dragon he can't think on his feet. He rolled his eyes walking over to the boy, the pick axe he had been using to smash rock over his shoulder. "Hey, kid. You need to break that up if you can't move it."
"I don't need your help," Takeru shot back ignoring the man's advice.
"Oh yeah?" The man crouched down to swing the pickaxe on top of the rock. It cracked into two with his extra movement of force. His stern gaze befell upon the boy who had defied him. "Stubborness is the way of a fool and a child."
Takeru stood with his hair dripping wet from the pouring rain. "I didn't ask for you help," he yelled out of fury. "I can do what I was told on my own!"
"All you're doing is wasting time and effort. That's something we cannot afford for anyone to be doing right now. You're nothing more than a hamster running a wheel," Takori emphasized. "Also, everyone is staring at you," he said lowly trying to calm the kid down. "As it is, your favors with everyone have been worn down. Especially after that stunt you pulled."
Takeru seethed at the core. The man went back to work ignoring him. Out of frustration, he kicked the rock as hard as he could, causing it to roll a few feet. The water on the ground jumped upwards as his anger intensified. Before he could stop it, the water shot up and out towards Takori's back.
"Takori, look out," someone yelled to warn him.
"Mm?" Takori turned his head just in time to be hit with a wall of water straight at his face and torso. He was knocked backwards onto his rear. It was such a shock to him, that it took him a few seconds to realize Takeru had attacked him.
He stood calmly wiping the mud off of his pants. "Alright, kid, you're asking for it." Takori walked towards Takeru, his body loose, emotions relaxed. He withdrew a kunai when he was feet away, ready for any other assault Takeru had up his sleeve. "If you want to fight like a man, you need to own up to being one."
Daiya saw what was going on from his point-of-view. He started to lunge forward, abruptly to stop it, but Ryu grabbed his shoulder. "Are you kidding?"
Ryu shook his head slowly. "The one thing about being a big brother, is sometimes, you have to let your little brother get his butt kicked." He tilted his head towards Daiya. "I know who that guy is. He won't hurt him, you have my word. Think of this as a life lesson. You're familiar with those," Ryu said of his own leadership on his team.
Takeru stiffened as another wave of water shot up and out towards the man coming at him. Takori let it hit, shaking his head free of the extra water. Takeru narrowed his eyes, his hands moving to form hand seals. If water wasn't enough of a determent to get Takori to back down, he was going to use a little fire.
Takori let the kunai in his hand, free with a piece of paper attached to it. "Not good enough, kid." A wall of branches erected out of the ground between Takeru and Takori. The paper bomb hit, wood flying in all directions. Takeru turned his head to keep his eyes from being overstimulated by the heat. Now what is this?
Gin Akimichi hastily paced towards Takeru, the look of sheer disgust across her face. She slapped him as hard as she could. Takeru turned his head back around, his eyes warning her. "You shame yourself, Takeru Uchiha! And the rest of us trying to protect you! You will apologize for your arrogance against this man," she said grabbing his wrist.
Gin yanked him along with her, stopping in front of Takori. "Apologize. Now,'" she said raising her voice. Takeru didn't move. Gin placed her delicate hand on the back of his head forcing him to bow in respect. "He is sorry for his stupidity," Gin said grabbing Takeru's other arm to hold him in place. "He will not do it again!"
Takori placed a hand on his hip. "So I should forgive you for attacking me without probable cause?" He held his hand out. "If it wasn't for your little friend, I'd teach you a proper lesson, but that's for your parents. Respect your elders, kid."
"Don't call me a kid," Takeru sneered raising his head.
"Prove me wrong, small fry," Takori said with both his hands on his hips, leaned down to face Takeru.
Takeru had half a mind to try until Gin shoved him back. She was soaked to the bone, same as him. He was going to push past her, to really go for it, until he heard Ryu clear his throat. Takeru turned around, his eyes seeing the red lazy eyes of his best friend.
Ryu laced his fingers around Takeru's collar. "You will watch your mouth and your actions." The serious hard low voice didn't have to initiate a proper response from Takeru. "Takori had no intention of smearing your reputation with everyone. You've done that yourself. You're already on lockdown from the Hokage."
"Forget it," Takori said. "We don't have time for this. He can learn everything he needs to know on his own."
"What is wrong with you?" Gin crossed her arms standing her ground. "Those lightening-nin could come back! It's on everyone's minds and you're picking fights?"
"You're not my mother, Gin. Back off," Takeru said his rudeness hitting an all time high. He felt a hard hit on the top of his head. Takeru whirled around ready to fight Ryu, but his fist was halted by his father.
"That. is. enough," Sasuke said his Sharingan eyes freezing Takeru's anger until it fizzled away. "Go. Now." He made his son move his legs with just a quiet, solid voice. Sasuke led Takeru through the rain back to the house. It had suffered as well as the rest of the village. The roof was gone on one side of the house. The dojo was currently caved in and unuseable. Not to mention, Takeru and Daiya's room had a huge piece of another building in the middle of it. Sasuke stopped as they walked inside. "You want to elaborate to me what your problem is?"
Izumi stuck her head out of the kitchen now makeshift bedroom where they were all sleeping. "What is going on now?" She dropped a pot into the sink with a clang.
"Takeru decided to pick a fight with a Jounin while everyone is working on cleaning up the village. And he was extremely rude to a fellow Genin who was trying to get him out of trouble." Sasuke was finished with the whole matter. "Your attitude has not improved since you have shamed your clan and the Hokage!"
"What more can you do to me?! I'm constricted to the village - or what's left of it. I can't leave the house after working all day and for what?!" Takeru knew he wasn't going to get a proper answer. "I have nothing else!"
"You won't with that attitude," Sasuke said at the top of his lungs. "Until you mature, you'll abide by the Hokage's orders!" He came within an inch of Takeru's face. "You will not disgrace the clan further!"
(Scene Change)
Onari dipped her foot slowly into the still warm water of the tub. It wasn't what she had been accustomed to since leaving Konoha. The robe upon her back rolled off of her shoulders exposing the tattoos of the celestials. Onari stopped herself getting into the bath, letting her mind wander to Izumi and Daiya, strangely. Her heart ached with remorse at those she had left behind. No matter the circumstances surrounding her, they had always been kind to her. For a brief moment, she became lost within herself, forgetting where she was.
Akiru threw several more logs of firewood into the space below the bathroom. "Is the water to your preference," she asked. There wasn't a response in turn. "Onari?" she stood up to peek in the small window. "Hey, you didn't drown in there, did you?" She tapped on the side of the window trying to alert the girl of her presence. Onari was starting off into oblivion. Akiru's baffled eyes fell onto the markings displayed all over the girl's skin. Tattoos?
Onari jerked as she came back to the present. She lifted the robe hiding her skin from prying eyes. "Mm," she said not looking at Akiru.
"A-Alright. If you need anything else, let me know," she said before shutting the window. Akiru walked away only to stop in order to glance at the window once more. Once she heard Onari get into the tub, she eased away. I wonder how those got on her. Everyone had their secrets, she supposed. Even her family had those. Akiru found herself expecting something to happen with Onari.
Akiru entered the main side of the house taking her shoes off at the entrance before she stepped onto the flooring. She walked into the small tatami floor living room to see her husband sitting with a toothpickin his mouth going over his records for crops. Sitting down across from him, she closed her eyes, in thought. "Kando, there's something unusual about that girl," she said calmly.
Kando circled the dates he needed to plant his new crops. He wasn't ignoring his wife, really. His eyes lifted as his hand kept writing on the paper. "She has extremely high levels of chakra," he said. He put the pencil he was using down, closing the farmer's book. "It wasn't chance that I found her when I did. I was attracted to the energy coming off of her."
Akiru simply watched him.
"Energy such as that, is not hard to track, if one knows how to track it. Whatever she is hiding, there is a reason for it." He tilted his head, continuing to chew on the toothpick in his mouth.
Akiru clenched her simple kimono. "I thought you had left that sort of life behind, Kando," she said of his old tracking days. "I do not want trouble entering this house. We are leading a good life here."
Kando laid his head on his hand. "Yes, I undestand that. However, I still practice behind your back. I can't forget my past no more than you can forget yours."
She looked down at the simple wooden table. "If you can read that girl so easily, what is she seeking?" Akiru started to worry about her family's safety. They had taken Onari in thinking at some point she was going to return to her own village. Akiru thought her to be a simple run away.
"She appears lost," Kando said, not speaking of her direction, but more so of her own mind. "I don't believe she is a threat to us. She's just a lost child." Completely unsure of herself.
Onari exited the bath drying her hair. It felt foregin to do it herself. Izumi had always prided herself in making sure Onari was dry as a bone due to her normal fear of water. She tossed her long black hair over her shoulders.
Onari stepped out of the bathroom closing the small shoji screen behind her with a clack.
(Scene Change)
Ryu Yuhi had an odd sense of deja-vu when he and Daiya entered the bathhouse in Konoha. It was one of the few buildings mostly intact. He scruffed his ninja shoes on the mat trying not to track in the mud from outside. Daiya was looking around the place. Since he had been taken in with the Uchiha, he had his own pleasure of a normal bathroom to himself.
An old man wearing a white yukata stood behind the small desk at the entrance. There were two openings with curtains for each gender to go through. "Nasty weather out there. Lots of people coming in from working on the clean up. My, you seem injured. They let you out of the hospital?"
"Yeah," Ryu said stating the obvious. He heard a bunch of commotion coming from the establishment. "Are the bath areas full?"
"No, not yet. You boys can go in. Here are your towels," the man said putting them on the counter. "Be mindful of that shoulder," he cautioned.
Daiya followed Ryu until they found an area that wasn't occupied by anyone. They didn't want to be mixing with others they weren't familiar with. He stood for a moment watching Ryu throw his shoes angrily into the basket in the small room. He sighed. Ryu was having trouble getting his vest off due to the bandaged shoulder. "Hang on," Daiya said as he reached forward to help undress his team mate.
Ryu felt slightly embarassed at the attention.
"Stop being so tense. It's no different than when you helped me during," he lifted the face mask shirt over Ryu's head, "my attacks." Daiya checked the bandage holding Ryu's arm to his side and stomach. "When you get out, I'll change it to a fresh set."
They sat down in the hot water carefully. Ryu breathed deeply inward. He had a lot on his mind. "Is it alright for us to even be here," he asked staring at the water.
"They haven't come back," Daiya said of the lightening-nin. "Onari's not here," he confessed, his guard still up after the battle. He tried to relax, but found it difficult regarding Ryu's injury.
"What in the hell is wrong with Takeru," Ryu said disgustedly. "That is not the kid I know." Takeru's rash actions concerned all of them. It was as if he really didn't understand the power and ability he had gained with Uso. Now it had been terminated by his stupid, careless, thoughtless actions. Ryu still had Shogai; and Saori, Josei. "What good is it having been offered a gift if you don't appreciate it?"
Daiya heard others walk pass them to another bathing area. He turne dhis head to make sure they were gone. "People are talking bad about him. I hear it. He hears it. And it's gotten to him. His anger has exploded at home." Daiya closed his eyes, then reopened them. "I know what he did was wrong. He's paying for it, trust me. However, he still needs us if we expect him to do a turn around."
"I don't like the direction he's headed in. No offense, but Sasuke followed that dark path around the same age. I don't want Takeru turning out like that," Ryu said knowing more of his sensei than Daiya was aware.
Daiya furrowed his brows. "Why is it common knowledge to everyone in the village what my dad did in the past?" He knew his adopted father was respected, but yet feared all the same.
Ryu scoffed. "He only turned against the village, tried to destroy it, and annihilate the Hokage, before he was the Hokage. They were on the same team and my father was their sensei." Ryu looked at him. "Sasuke sensei had it out for my dad back then. I don't know what transpired to get him to calm down. Maybe it was your mom. But since most can't figure it out, they speculate."
"People often mistake fear for misunderstanding," Daiya said.
Ryu placed his hand on top of Daiya's head pushing him under the water. "Shut up, lightening bug," he said with a curled smile. He let go.
Daiya came up shaking his head free of the water. He coughed several times. "What was that for?!"
"Being yourself."
(Scene Change)
Naruto leaned back in the hot water of the bath house. ANBU guards stood outside the screen listening and keeping alert for any sign of an attack. He jumped lsightly hearing a familiar voice. Sasuke's son is here. But that's... Daiya- the kid from the lightening country. Naruto was glad he was alone for the time being. He took a deep breath, letting himself all into the water. He felt his body sink to the bottom. After the devestation of the village, he wanted to clear his mind.
He tried to focus on Uso's appearance. Her massive body towered over the village, defiant attitude claiming she only took orders from the Uchiha. The dragon had been bent on stopping Gekido and his men, but Gekido had turned the tides knowing how Takeru would react if he targeted Naruto. Sacrifice was made. Naruto opened his eyes. Where was the girl Sasuke had brought back those two years ago?
He lifted himself out of the water. The water dripped from his hair. He had already secured the village as much as he could. Now his focus was to rebuild it. As the Hokage of the Leaf village, Naruto was worried about sending anyone outside for fear of an ambush. The lightening-nin could easily detect all of them - all but one person. It hit him. Daiya had the kekkegenkai of knowing where an energy was by feeling out his chakra, or electrical charges given off by his heart. Naruto pinched between his eyes.
Ryu Yuhi, Kakashi's son, was injured. He had to send a team out of the village for aid. Kiba's team was also unware of the devistation. Naruto had to get word to the forest village where his son was. I hope they're alright.
He turned looking over his shoulder.
"I want to bathe with daddy," Niru said getting pass her mother. She forced open the screen ripping her clothes off in mere seconds.
"E-Eh, N-Niru," Sendo said as he stood on guard. "Not out in the hall!" He threw his hands up in shock.
Hinata picked up the clothes quickly. "N-Niru," she said trying to calm the girl down. "I'm sorry," she apologized to the guards.
Niru threw open the shoji screen to the bath. "Daddy!" She ran, jumping at him once she was his blond hair.
Naruto caught her swiftly. "I see you have Hinata on the run." He smiled at his rambunctious daughter.
"I'm sorry, Naruto. She was intent on finding you," Hinata said as her husband tickled their daughter in the water.
"Any word from Team 6," Naruto asked trying to be positive.
"No," Hinata said fearing what could be wrong. "Masaru and his friend won't know about the attack on the village. If they come back, Naruto, what if our enemies are outside waiting for people to leave or show up?"
Naruto threw Niru into the water. She came up excitedly with her arms in the air. "I have a plan. We have our own little lightening user in the village. And with his kekkegenkai he's one powerful adversary." Naruto looked straight ahead. "These lightening-nin won't get back in. I'll send out two teams and have them split up. One will go for help to the Sand village. The other will retrieve Team 6."
