: Honestly school, sometimes I love ya, and sometimes I hate ya. I have an essay due next Monday but it's the most complicated crap ever. I have to quote 3 things each, with 3 citations...For 14 things. I'm like god dang it...But that's the reason why this is late, because I've been working on that. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this chapter!:

"Damn..." Joey breathed out, sitting Indian style under a tree with his friends. The four of them had quickly retreated out of harms way when Pegasus had announced the event would start. It was a good thing they did too. As soon as the guy had said it started, the curtains were swarmed with people and lines formed in seconds. It was kind of scary...

Yugi leaned against the tree, one knee popped up and his other laying next to it as he read from a small notebook. He looked bored, he acted bored, he was bored. Bakura sat between Yugi and Joey on the left, his eyes now looking at Joey. While Anzu sat next to Yugi on his right, reading alongside him in his notebook. Bakura had adopted the sitting style of popping his knee up and laying his other leg across his foot. Anzu sat in a proper manner, her knees under her so her skirt wouldn't go up.

"Those lines are long." Joey observed, his mouth gaped in surprise. They were sitting a good length away from the lines, so they got a pretty decent view from the side of how long they were. The lines stretched from the event area, to the front of the school. Since they were at least a good 30 feet away from the back of the school, that had to be a crap ton of waiting. Bakura turned his head to the lines, shrugging as he yawned.

"Girls gotta know if they're compatible with someone or not." Bakura told him, looking down and finding a stray small branch. "It's some kind of reassurance that the person they want really loves them...or something like that..." He swung the small stick around a couple times and tested its strength by trying to bend it. He placed it into the dirt and began to dig with it, being bored with just sitting there.

"Not all girls have to know, you know." Anzu snapped, her eyes narrowing at her friend. Bakura lifted his eyes to her, raising an eyebrow at her statement.

"So, you know if the person you love really loves you or not?" He questioned, a mischievous look in his eyes. Anzu glared at him, not feeling embarrassed at all by the question.

"I don't love anyone, so I don't care." She replied, crossing her arms and turning her head away.

"That's not what I see." Bakura smirked as Anzu turned her eyes back to him in question.

"Huh?"

"You were blushing awfully bad back there." Bakura pointed out to her. "And it was because of a certain royal girl, wasn't it?" Anzu's eyes widened, her face now beginning to feel warm. What?! Just because she blushed didn't mean she loved her! Sure, she felt something around her, but it wasn't love!

"That isn't love!" She argued, her facial expression disagreeing with her statement. Bakura just smirked wider.

"Oh, I don't know, Anzu. You seemed pretty flustered back there."

"I was just...taken back! That's all!"

"By what?"

"Her blowing a kiss to me."

"You were flustered by her blowing a kiss to you?"

"No! I was taken back!"

"No. You were flustered, a blushing maiden in the sunlight. You were all red in the face, you looked like you were kind of panicky. So, that meant your heart had to be beating like a drum and-"

"Well, what about you, Mr. Are-you-okay?!" Anzu shot at him with a confident gaze. Bakura's eyes widened at that. She saw that? He had thought only Joey had seen him do that.

"He looked terrified, okay?" Bakura argued, feeling his own face start to form into a higher temperature. "I wanted to make sure he was okay, I didn't want him to drop dead or something."

"But at first you seemed like you wanted nothing to do with him." Anzu began to develop her own smirk, Bakura's had faded quickly. He grit his teeth, knowing that was true. When he had first met the guy, he didn't like him at all. But the guy had been nice to him and he felt that he needed some respect.

"He's not that bad of a guy, and also he's a royal. He deserves respect."

"I thought you didn't care about the royals?"

"I don't."

"So, Malik is a special royal?" Anzu sung out playfully. Bakura knew his face was beat red, but what could he do? He didn't think Malik was special, he just thought...Bakura paused his thoughts, feeling them freeze up. What did he think of Malik?

"No...He's just..." Bakura mumbled out, trying to form words. Anzu rose an eyebrow.

"He's just?" She questioned, wanting to get the full sentence out of him. Bakura sighed, leaning his head on top of his knee and jamming the stick he had into the ground.

"I don't know..." He admitted in a soft whisper, he felt his heart begin to beat fast. Why did it react like that? It was confusing, it was absolutely confusing. What did he exactly think of Malik. At first Bakura had thought he was annoying, but after he had helped him and shown a different side of him...

"Aha!" Anzu yelled out, pointing a finger at the confused boy. " You're the one in love!" Bakura snapped his head up at that, oh no he wasn't!

"No I'm not!"

"Yes you are!"

"No, I frigging ain't!"

"Yes you-"

"Hey, if we're going on about this based on what we think of the person, shouldn't Joey be the one in love?" Yugi spoke, his voice blank as he just looked at his notebook and turned a page in it. All three pairs of eyes turned to look at him in shock, mainly Joey.

"What's that supposed to mean?!" Joey questioned loudly, his face turning a slight pink at Yugi's random statement. Yugi turned a page in his notebook, his eyes never leaving the words on it. They were lines for the play, he had to study them because he had nothing else to study. He had already memorized the cake recipe for his cooking class, so it was all he had.

"Aren't you confused about Seto?" Yugi asked, his voice still blank as day. Joey's eyes narrowed, his face beginning to brighten up more. Anzu and Bakura watched as the two talked, forgetting about their own argument and viewing the new argument.

"No! I think he's...He's..." Joey found his mind blank when he searched for words. Oh, that can't be good. He's...What is he? He's a royal, he's a guy, but to Joey he's...What the hell!

"Told ya."

"I am not confused about Seto!"

"Then what is he to you?"

"He's a royal!"

"No crap, Einstein. What is he emotionally to you?"

"He's a man."

"Emotionally. Not phsyically.

"He's..uh..." Joey looked down, trying to rack his brain for the answer. Anzu turned her head to Yugi and could see him smirking behind his notebook.

"That's what I thought."

"Hey! At least I don't have the hots for the main guy!" Yugi's smirk fell, his eyes widening a slight amount at that. He felt his mouth go dry, hots for the main guy? He felt his face begin to burn and his heart begin to race a slight amount. No, that wouldn't happen. If he had the hots for him, he would know. But he couldn't ever start to, because that would mean he was letting himself lose the bet. Yugi couldn't lose the bet.

"You have the hots for the main guy's adviser."

"Hey! Stop avoiding the question!"

"It wasn't a question, it was a statement."

"Do you have the hots for the main guy?"

"For one; you must define the definition of Hots and two: By main guy, you could mean any main guy, like Mr. Maximillion or the president."

"Don't get smart with me! You know what I'm talking about!"

"I have no idea what you're talking about."

"Do you love the prince?!" Joey nearly screamed out in annoyance. Bakura and Anzu had to stifle their laughter as he yelled that out, it was kind of funny. Yugi, however, didn't. He felt his heart begin to race faster at that question, it wasn't love he felt for the prince. It had to be hatred, if he fell for the prince, he would lose the bet. He didn't want to get married. Especially not to a guy like him. A guy who is a pervert, an idiot, dense, and...Yugi found his mind adding the words Mannerly, nice, and kind of sweet. He breathed through his nose, he assumed that was because of respect. The prince had shown a tinge of respect to him during the lunch, so he was giving compliments to be nice.

"No."

"I don't buy it!"

"Why? You wanted an answer!"

" Your tone changed and you're hiding your face behind your notebook!" Yugi was indeed, doing the later option. His small face was completely hidden behind his book, hiding his bright red face. He just wished he could mask the beating of his heart, he felt like it could power a motor at the speed it was going, and that was just because he was embarrassed.

"I don't-"

"Let me ask you this time." Joey smirked wider, pointing a finger at Yugi. "What is the prince to you?" Yugi opened his mouth slightly, his brain beginning to try to form words. To everyone else this question had to be hard for their obsessed royal, but for Yugi it was relatively easy. He had said this from the start, so he could say it now.

"He's a stupid perverted royal that needs glasses." Yugi said smoothly, smirking when Joey's eyes widened. He hadn't expected that, now had he?

"Huh?" Joey gasped out. "What'd you say?"

"The prince to me." Yugi smiled sweetly, his tone completely changing and his face and heart returning to normal. "Is a stupid perverted royal who needs glasses." He rose an eyebrow at his friend. "Good enough?"

Joey just opened and closed his mouth like an idiot as he tried to form an answer. Bakura laughed and began to clap.

"Nice, Yugi!" He complimented, making Yugi smile confidently. The question hadn't fazed him at all, he had an answer and it was easy! Just say the same thing he always said, honestly could it have been any easier?

"I see you four are having fun." A voice interrupted the group, causing them to look up to where the voice was. Anzu's eyes widened, somewhat taken back by this sudden appearance.

"Mr. Maximillion, sir." She uttered out properly. "How are you?" Pegasus smiled fondly at his students, his arms behind his back.

"I am fine, and you four?" He questioned nicely to the small group.

"Good." The four replied politely, their voices matching one another as they all voiced out the same word. Pegasus nodded in satisfaction at the answer.

"I couldn't help but notice you four not participating." He spoke in a somewhat hurt tone. "Is the event not to your liking?" Joey shrugged at that.

"It's okay for others, it's just not something we would do."

"Yeah, and we're not exactly the only people not participating." Bakura backed up Joey, his eyes slightly narrowed at the friendly principal.

"Actually as a matter a fact." Pegasus smiled. "You four actually are the only students not participating." Their eyes widened at the sudden statement, he had to be kidding. There were so many students in this school, there was absolutely no way that they were the only ones not participating.

"All of the other students see this as a time to get close to the visiting royalty." Pegasus began to explain. "They are all looking for a way to enhance their future and lifestyle, by wooing and trying to become a royal their selves. To you four it is possibly a short cut in life in your view, correct?" The four couldn't reply out loud, but all four of them knew that he was right. It was cheating if you wanted to become a royal, because after you became one there was a high chance you didn't have to work much or do pretty much anything. You could become lazy, and still be successful.

"Or is it that..." Pegasus smiled knowingly at the four. "That you four are confident that the royals are already in the palm of your hands?" They all looked at him, shocked by his statement. What did he say?
"What do you mean?" Anzu whispered out, confused by this sudden change in the principal. He acted like he knew something they didn't know, as if he knew them.

"You four out of all the students in the school have been to closest to the royals." Pegasus explained. "The royals tend to enjoy being around you and even go to great lengths to come and visit you throughout the day. And if I remember correctly, you four became closer to the royals during your dates." He turned his eyes to Yugi, smiling with his eyes before he stopped and then began to repeat the gaze to the other three.

"All four of you have a better chance with the royals than anyone else in this school. Why would you not take advantage of that? This event could bring you closer, it could tell you if-"
"Maybe we don't care." Yugi snapped, lowering his book and glaring at his principal. Pegasus couldn't help but find amusement in this, Yugi never talked back to a teacher or him before.

"As in?" Pegasus sung out, wanting to see more of this kind of Yugi. The boy narrowed his eyes, his glare becoming harsher.

"As in we don't care if we have a better chance with the royals." Yugi gave his notebook to Anzu, beginning to stand up and stride over to their principal. "Like you said we think that becoming royalty is a shortcut in life. So why would we try to become one in the first place?!" He strode up to Pegasus, his small stature not making him less frightening as he glared at the man.

"We might be on good terms with the royals, but that's because they aren't something to be won." Yugi hissed out. "They're people, we don't care if we get close to them. We want to go to this school and learn, we don't want to take shortcuts. We're on friendly terms with the royals because we treat them like everyone else. They aren't royals." Yugi reached up and grabbed Pegasus' tie, tugging it down so he and the principal could be on the same level. No higher ups, no lowers, just equal ground. Pegasus gasped at this, his foot reaching out to balance him and his arms shooting out to the sides.

"They're students with a special title." Yugi growled. "They're us. They're human." Pegasus' eyes widened, he looked into Yugi's amethyst eyes. They were so angry at him. This was new, and to be frank, Pegasus found it interesting. One of his best students, one of the students who would never do this sort of thing, was backing up royalty that he never cared about. Or that he thought he didn't care about. Yugi's group of friends were stunned by this, what had happened there? Sure, they had gotten a little irritated but Yugi had gone off! What triggered that?

"I thought you didn't care, Yugi." Pegasus whispered for only him to hear. "Why the sudden change?" Yugi's glare didn't faze, if anything his glare became colder, and his amethyst color became darker.

"No one is something to be won." Yugi replied, an angry whisper leaving him. "I hate seeing someone being used as a prize, it's disrespectful." Pegasus smiled at him.

"Is that why you won the race for the prince?" He spoke nicely, as if he was talking to a son. Yugi's glare faded slightly, his eyes becoming softer.

"He would have been used..." Yugi spoke, his tone taking a nicer ring to it as his eyes began to return to normal size. "No one deserves to be used, not even him." Pegasus smiled, raising up as he felt Yugi release his tie.

"You're a sweet boy." Pegasus complimented, placing a hand on top of Yugi's head. Yugi snapped his head up, sweet boy? He just pulled his damn tie down and back talked him! And he was sweet?! Yugi's group didn't know what had happened, so they were confused as well.

"Despite your words, I do hope you four will accept my proposal." Pegasus straightened his tie and looked at the four. Yugi's eyes narrowed once again, proposal?

"Depends on what that is." Bakura spoke, annoyance hinted greatly in his voice. Pegasus fixed his tie and smiled as he placed his arms behind his back.

"The royals are actually becoming bored and are not giving their all in the event." Pegasus announced sadly. "They've been doing the same thing over and over again and it's tiring them out for some reason.

"Well duh, it's got to be boring after a while." Bakura snapped at him, where was the principal going with this?

"The royals would cheer up probably if you four came and just visited them." Pegasus explained. "You don't have to take the quiz, you just simply have to go and see them." Yugi narrowed his eyes, after his speech and yet he still asks this? But he did say they didn't have to take the quiz.

"All we have to do is go to them and say hi?" Joey questioned, confused at what they were supposed to do. Pegasus nodded.

"Precisely." He responded. "I can pay you all to do this, by the way. I understand that you might not want to do this, so I have prepared one hundred dollars for each of you, should you decide to do this." Yugi narrowed his eyes, payment? He rose a hand, telling the principal to wait a moment before he turned around and looked at his friends.

They didn't have to exchange words. All four had been friends for far too long to use words for such a decision. In order to know their decision, all he had to do was read their expressions. Yugi looked at his group, questioning them with his eyes. Anzu was up for it, but he knew she didn't want payment. Bakura looked like he'd be okay with it, but he obviously didn't require money. Joey was reluctant with the decision, but he nodded, but then he shook his head to indicate one thing. Yugi smiled and turned to each of them, as if asking if they were certain. All three nodded.

"Fine, we'll do it." Yugi turned back around to face the principal. Pegasus smiled and began to reach into his pocket, Yugi quickly placed a hand on the man's arm. Pegasus furrowed his eyebrows in confusion at the sudden movement and turned his eyes to meet Yugi's bright amethyst ones. Yugi smiled sweetly at their principal, his eyes brighter in the sun.

"Keep the change. We have no need for money. Now, lead us to them."
