Chapter 7

Raven heard her alarm blare out into her bedroom at seven sharp. She rolled over like she had four tons of bricks on her chest and slammed her hand down on the snooze button. She softly flipped her linens off of her torso and sat up on the edge of her bed. She wiped her eyes to counteract some of her grogginess but she began to agitate some of the soreness in her eyes that she had from crying the night before. She was no stranger to arguments with Beastboy but the fact that he almost didn't even react to her flipping out on him is what bothered her. The fact that he didn't react and the fact that he could suspect her of an affair, Raven had to admit it was tearing her apart. She slipped on her slippers and made her way over to her bathrobe, she knew that the boys were out training at this hour so she suspected the bathroom to be wide open if Starfire wasn't awake. She let out a huge yawn as she grabbed her shower supplies and exited her room. Much to her surprise she was bumped into causing her to spill her supplies all over the floor.

"You Mind?" Raven's eyes shot up to see Aqualad standing there with nothing but a towel. She couldn't deny his physical features. She also knew that although it was pleasing to the eye didn't necessarily mean it was pleasing to the soul. Raven's guard immediately went up.

"Sorry had a little morning blindness." Aqualad smirked as he bent down and grabbed a bottle of Raven's shampoo.

"Here." Raven snatched the bottle out of his hand.

"I got it." Raven clearly flustered dropped the bottles back on to the floor and let out a groan in frustration. Aqualad chuckled at her struggles.

"Yeah it seems it." He collected the bottles and as they both rose up to an upright position. Raven extended her hand to take the products from Aqualad.

"I can take it from here." Raven murmured. Aqualad shook his head.

"I'll carry it for you. Wouldn't want you to drop it again." Raven gritted her teeth.

"That's not necessary."

"I know but I still want to help." Raven rolled her eyes and squeezed out an irritated.

"Fine." Raven dragged her feet down the hallway while they headed to the bathroom. The dim lighting in the tower made it hard for her to fully open her eyes given how exhausted she was and the last person she wanted to talk to was Aqualad given the drama he started last night but she still couldn't shake how upset she was at Beastboy.

Aqualad noticed how quiet Raven was and he couldn't deny what he had heard last night. He almost got a sick satisfaction from it because he couldn't deny his attraction to Raven. The way her long luscious hair rolled down her head and rested gently on her shoulders. The way the thinness of her body exploded into thickness of her hips, he couldn't resist being caught up in it. He sensed himself starting to stare and could tension between he and Raven with a machete. If he was ever going to work his way in now was his chance.

"So Raven I hope I'm not over stepping my boundaries here but I couldn't help but overhear are you okay?" Raven felt the heat in her face rise like a wildfire. The last thing she wanted to do was talk about this especially with Aqualad. She also knew better than to let her emotions slip on to her sleeve.

"Yup." Aqualad giggled nervously.

"You could have fooled me." Raven shot him torso separating glare.

"Why are you even worried about it?" She asked sarcastically. Aqualad raised his hands passively.

"Relax relax I was just worried about a fellow teammate." Raven rolled her eyes as the two continued their walk down the hallway. They both reached the door and Raven stared at Aqualad waiting for him to give her the supplies back. Aqualad stood there arrogantly.

"Look Raven I'm sorry if I'm prying but if you need someone to talk to I've been told I'm a good listener."

"Well I'm not necessarily one to open up but I appreciate the offer." Raven wasn't sure of this approach. Was he really being sincere or his is her just being an asshole? It was the quite the wildcard tactic that not even Raven could initially figure out.

"No I know but sometimes it healthy to open up about a relationship to someone that doesn't have a dog in the fight." Raven nodded.

"Yeah I know what you mean I just didn't know what came over him last night." Aqualad felt the victory bell ringing in his head. He knew that once he got Raven to open the door just a crack he could kick it open. He was that sure in his ability with women.

"Well sometimes when you combine insecurity with alcohol it usually leads to a temper tantrum like that." Raven couldn't help but be surprised and what she had just heard.

"Beastboy insecure?" Aqualad adjusted his hair much to the subconscious delight of Raven.

"Look sometimes when guys get a girlfriend that they've been desiring for a while it's like a dog that just peed on a fire hydrant, they are going to stand by it and bark at anyone that goes near it even though they might not have interest in it." Raven nodded in agreement even though she hated to admit it Aqualad had a point.

"But if you heard it you must have heard him not react to me flipping out on him you got an explanation for that?"

"Its reverse psychology he knew you said that to get a reaction out of him so when he didn't give it to you it left you reacting instead of him." Raven found herself dumbfounded at the sense Aqualad was making.

"Yeah I guess your right but what do I do know I don't want to make it awkward for today." Aqualad saw his opportunity for his chance to isolate Raven for a while.

"Just give him space and surround yourself with positive thinking. Hang out with us during the panel and I'll take you to lunch after sound good." Raven knew the danger of what she was about to do but something about Aqualad was just so comforting that she couldn't resist.

"Yeah but it's not a date." Aqualad grinned.

"Of course not you have a boyfriend." Raven nodded.

"Can I have my shit now please?" They both laughed.

"Yeah here sorry I'll see you in a little bit." Raven smiled and walked into the bathroom she felt good about herself and how she handled the emotional cleansing she had. It was almost as if they weight of the fight with Beastboy was completely gone.

Aqualad strolled down the hall back to his room smiling ear to ear. Speedy exited the weight room and saw him.

"What's up with you?" He asked cautiously.

"Remember what I told you at the bar last night?" Speedy nodded. "Well let's just say I started to put that plan in motion." Speedy shook his head.

"Dude just be careful you're starting a war I don't think you're prepared for." Aqualad smiled menacingly.

"Don't worry Roy I think I'll be able to care of this without anything going wrong." Speedy shook his head and walked back into the weight room as Aqualad hummed the tune of "Cult of Personality" back to his room.
