Chapter 9

" AWESOME!" Beastboy couldn't help himself he's never been in a limo before. He also couldn't believe the attention they were receiving. He knew the fame that the titans had and he knew the respect that they demanded whenever they were seen around jump city but he really never noticed it. It was almost as if it never really sunk in until the titans limo turned the corner on to main street. Mobs of people were crowding the streets screaming and yelling. Huge posters and billboards were hanging from the city buildings that read "Thank you Titans." That's when the titans realized that this was a victory parade.

"Yo this is nuts." Cyborg remarked as he looked out the window in awe. Starfire unsure of what to do asked.

"Oh should we try to unclog the street traffic? The people are yelling for our help." Robin laughed at his girlfriends ignorance.

"No star they're celebrating us this is a good thing." Starfire blushed from embarrassment.

"Oh I see hehe." The group laughed at Starfire's fake self- pity. Beastboy saw an opportunity to soak all the attention in when he looked up at the top of limo.

"Dude's is that a sunroof?" His eyes lit up like a Christmas tree as he began to frantically screech through-out the vehicle for the switch to open. Robin cleared his throat sarcastically and pointed down at the switch. Beastboy widen his eyed at Robin for him to hit the switch. Robin rolled his eyes as Raven lifted her eyes from a book and pushed out.

"Just don't make an ass out of yourself please." Beastboy looked at his girlfriend with a sadistic grin and kissed her over dramatically on the chin.

"Never." Beastboy then shot his head and torso through the sun roof to an uproar from the crowd. He scanned the crowd and drank in their overwhelming applause. He kept turning back and forth between the sides of the street. He felt a pull on his leg and it was Cyborg shoving a bull horn at him. Before Cyborg could speak the bull horn was ripped out of his hand.

"Alright everyone listen we gotta start a chant!" The crowd roared as the limo was now stopped. Beastboy thought to himself.

"Okay everyone ready? 1,2,3, BEASTBOY!BEASTBOY!" he took the bull horn down from his lips and laughed at the chant he started as the crowd started screaming his name he looked down into the limo to see his friends laughing at the madness he cause. Raven placed her book down and went to grab her boyfriend's attention.

"Hey movie star we're here." Beastboy gave one final wave to his fans before he slid back down into the limo. He was on cloud nine now as he just heard over 20,000 people screaming his name. He sat back down in the limo next to Raven and slid his arm around her. Leaning towards her ear he whispered.

"That whole keep our distance thing can go fuck itself." Raven giggled.

"Yeah I guess so." They shared a quick kiss as the limo pulled into the huge semi- circle outside the enormous, gothic building with a large marble sign that read "Jump City Hall." The two limos stopped and their drivers opened the doors for the two teams to begin filing out. Outside the limo there was more people barricaded behind the buildings granite stairs that was covered with a long red carpet that ended at the main entrance of the building. At the top of the steps was a podium set up with labeled seats for each titan to receive questions from the impending media. The two teams reconvened at the base at the steps and where held there by a press director.

"Okay guys please just walk slowly and talk to as many media members as possible." All the titans heard her but none of them really paid attention as they were too wrapped up in the festivities around them. Beastboy and Raven joined hands and were joined by Cyborg and BumbleBee.

"Dude this is nuts." Cyborg whispered to Beastboy.

"What do you think this is for?" Cyborg shrugged his shoulders.

"No idea but I'm going to enjoy this." Beastboy smiled back.

"Fuck yeah." The press director grabbed a microphone in front of the heroes and asked for them to quiet down before addressing the crowd.

"Okay everyone I would like to thank you for attending the first annual titan appreciation rally!" She paused for the crowd to applaud.

"Now media members if you could please prepare yourself the titans east will be approaching the podium first so there will be thirty minutes to address them then the titans will immediately follow. Once all the heroes are at the podium the mayors of both Steel and Jump city will address the crowd and we will conclude the rally with Robin accepting the key to the city on behalf of the titans. So is everyone ready?" The crowd roared back as the press director waved the Titans east up the carpet.

BumbleBee released her hand from her boyfriends and slowly began to work her way up the steps with the rest of her teammates. She looked back and shot a smile at Cyborg who winked back playfully at her as she made her way up the steps. She was stopped by a media member of the Keystone city times.

"So Bee how does it work keeping a long distance relationship?"

"Oh you know we are both busy so we aren't down each other's throat all day but we keep some time to speak to each other." Another media member pushed in.

"What's the best thing about being a titan?" BumbleBee chuckled.

"Everything." Down by the limo Beastboy felt a tug on his shoulder and a whisper in his ear.

"I'm nervous what if I don't know what to say?" Beastboy turned around and wrapped his arm around his girlfriends hips.

"It'll be fine just act natural and be beautiful you'll be okay and if you get too nervous just whip a tit out that will break the ice." Raven threw a jab at Beastboy's chest.

"Or don't your call." The media director cleared the sound and made the announcement.

"Now folks its time for Jump city's own Teen Titans!" The five of them made a slow walk up the stairs together but they were quickly separated by the media.

"Cyborg how does it feel to know you are one the smartest people on the planet?" Cyborg hesitated.

"Oh I don't pay attention to that stuff man I just do my job."

"Robin do you ever feel like you are still under the shadow of Batman?"

"No I feel like my work speaks for itself."

"Starfire what is your favorite thing about earth?"

"Oh I must say that it is the seats of the toilet because they prevent the falling." The media erupted into a huge laughter as Starfire squeaked out her trademark giggle.

"So Raven what is like being so powerful?"

"I don't know."

"You're not really one for interviews are you?"

"No I'm shy and I'm not afraid to admit it."

"Beastboy Beastboy what is your favorite animal to turn into?"

"I would say a whale shark because it has the biggest penis." The media busted out laughing as Beastboy winked at the camera in his face.

"I love it baby I love it I love the attention."

"So any women around town you've been seen with?"

"No actually I'm dating Raven now so sorry ladies." The crowd began uproar as questions were being thrown at Beastboy about his relationship. He backed away like a child that just poured gasoline on a fire. Luckily the media director bailed him out and called for the titans to take their seats. It was the titans east sitting on the left of the table with the mayor of Steel city sitting closest to the center on the other side it was the titans with their mayor. The mayor of Steel City got up first and made a brief announcement.

"I want to thank Jump City, the mayor, the titans, all of you great people and of course the titans east for defending our great city of Steel and being a constant reminder of what is right in this wrong world. Beastboy snickered under his breath. Raven turned to him and they both shared a smile because they were on the same page of the joke. Beastboy couldn't really take anything that associated Aqualad and good seriously.

The mayor of Jump City stood up next.

"I would like to thank everyone involved with this great event that took our titans by surprise and on behalf of the entire city we extend to you the key and we would like the five of you to know how much we love and appreciate you all." The five members stood up and gathered around the mayor who was ceremoniously extending the key to Robin. Beastboy scanned the crowd as he posed for the pictures. A million flashes went off as he stared out a noticed a blonde figure standing in the crowd. It looked familiar, too familiar. He focused on it more as the picture taking stopped and the titans were free to wander among the people. He began to pursue this figure and he pushed through the crowd of people to maintain a close distance to it.

"Beastboy! Where are you going?!" Raven shouted to try and stop him but it was to no use so she started following him to try and see where he was going and her shouts continued.

"Beastboy!" He kept chasing the figure with a ferocious determination. He finally closed the gap as she was on one side of the main street and he had just reached the view of the street.

"Wait!" he called out. The figure stopped as Beastboy walked out slowly into the street.

"Who are you?" The figure turned around to show a blonde girl with a rock induced gash under her left eye and huge hole in her chest the size of a stone dagger. Beastboy realized who it was but was interrupted by the sound of his girlfriend screaming.

"Beastboy look out!" Beastboy turned his head to see that the grill of an 18 wheeler was right on the edge of his nose and had sent him sailing through the air and once he felt the pressure of the concrete on his back he saw and felt nothing but black.
