Chapter 12

The titans were emotionally and physically exhausted after the funeral. People stayed on the island to mourn and it quickly turned into a loud celebration for the life of Beastboy. People who he had saved, people who had admired him and people who loved him were all there. It was magnificent sight from the tower window of the living room. Starfire looked down and thought how strange of it on earth when something so sad can turn into something so happy. Back on Tamiran, death was often ignored and no one mourned because it was considered dishonorable to the deceased. She admired earth's way of remembering and enjoying the life of someone while not completely shunning the emotions of grief and sadness that came with the process.

She turned her attention back into the room where all of the titans were placed. Cyborg was staring blankly at the ceiling with Bee under his arm. On the same side was Mas y Menos who whispered quietly to themselves the Spanish prayer of sainthood. In the center couch was Speedy and Aqua lad who stared blankly at the TV, a basketball game was on but it was just there for background noise. On the end of the couch opposite of Cyborg was Raven. Her hood was up and her face was hidden, she had no more emotion to show. She was drained of any sort of life she could think of. She hadn't spoken to any one, she hadn't eaten, she didn't even meditate. She was sad, tired, upset, confused but above all else she was angry. Angry at herself, for not doing more and also angry for feeling she had been taken out of control. She couldn't remember much from when the accident happened. Just falling to the ground and being awoken in the inferemy by the screams of Cyborg.

It was at this moment things were beginning to become clear. She had been taken out of control by Robin. That arrow knocked her out with sleeping gas and she couldn't help save her boyfriend because of this. The more she thought about the more enraged she became. It drove her crazy. How could he have done that? He knows my healing powers would have helped? What the fuck was he thinkin?

Raven's thoughts were interrupted by the sounds of Robin entering the living room. He was talking into his communicator and then ended it with a sharp.

"Okay I'll Procced" This made everyone snap their heads toward him. He ran his hand across his face and let a huge exhale. He sat down at the table and no one said a word. Starfire when and sat down next to him and placed a hand on his should. Raven glared at him, she felt the anger in her building and building. She couldn't believe that he would do something like this. Beast Boy was dead. Her boyfriend was dead and he did something that could helped Raven prevent that result. It consumed her, her eyes turned red through her hood and BumbleBee noticed. The TV started to shake as her emotions began to take over. Everyone noticed and began to stand up as Raven stood up.

"Is someone going to say something?" Everyone stood up with caution and took a few steps back. Raven scanned the entire room looking for someone to speak so she could unleash her wrath.

"Yes. I will." Robin replied with his head still facing the table. He stood up and removed Starfire's hand from his back. "There's something I need to tell you all."

Everyone turned their attention to Robin. Raven with her eyes still red was trying to hold her patience in check.

"As Speedy already knows from the accident scene being conducted by an android, I have two disturbing facts to reveal." Cyborg immediately stepped up

"Not for nothing bro, but you wait until immediately after we say good bye to a friend to drop news on us."

"I cannot help the timing but I need to tell you this, Beast boy's death was not an accident or a botched hit, it was assignation." The room became airless. Cyborg tightened his face.

"What do you mean an assignation?" Robin moved past Cyborg and pulled up the chart results and surveillance video from the day on the split big screens.

"I have been investigating from the previous days from Speedy's as well as my own notes and I come across two findings. First the chart, I collected a blood sample from Beast Boys corpse as Cyborg was working on him to return blood to him system. Beast Boy's natural biology allows him to natural accept any sort of medical procedure but for some reason Beastboy was rejecting his own blood it made no sense." Robin zoomed in on the simulated blood stream to represent what was going on with Beast Boy.

"This is what is known as WBCB or White Blood cell blocker that infiltrated Beast Boy's skin cells and caused to him reject his own blood which led to him bleeding out."

"Please Robin, I don't understand" Starfire declared

"Whatever hit Beast Boy specifically what to inject with him in order to make sure when he went down and stayed down which leads me to the video footage." Robin began to play the first sample of the video, he it showed Beast Boy walking out to the street with seemingly no one else out there. It looked like he was wandering, it then showed the point of impact. Raven felt her chest tighten with the sight of that. Robin rewind the film.

"Look here at the mayor of Steel City, his eyes are green and focused solely on Beast Boy putting him in some sort of physic trance. This is what led him to go out into the road and look here." He fast forwarded to the point of impact on the grill of the truck.

"Look here, there are syringes in the grill of the truck."

"So what does all this mean?" Cyborg asked.

"Nothing until you see this." Robin cut inside the mayor's office and revealed the mayor of steel city assaulting the mayor of Jump and revealing herself as Miss Martian. The room gasp Speedy spoke out.

"No how could that be Ne'gan wouldn't betray us." Robin replayed the tape.

"The film doesn't lie Roy." Raven lost control and stormed up to Robin wrapping a grasp of energy around his throat and slamming him against the wall. The rest of the titans watched in stunned horror.

"You showing us this shows you knew something and you did nothing to take preventive measures, if you knew something like this why didn't you tell us this? AND WHY DID YOU RENDER ME USELESS WHEN I COULD HAVE SAVED HIM?!" Robin struggled for air as Starfire screamed out for her to put him down.

"Raven put Robin down now."

"Or What?" Raven snapped back in a demonic voice. She turned her attention back to Robin as pushed the words out of his chest.

"I couldn't be sure Rae and you were out of control, you would have killed him before you saved him." Raven heard those words and any sort of control she had left was completely gone she thrust Robin across the room and into the table.

"THAT'S NOT FOR YOU TO DECIDE YOU COST ME THE LOVE OF MY LIFE NOW I SHOULD COST YOU YOURS YOU PIEC-" Her words were cut off as she was hit with two simultaneous beams of light, one from cyborg the other from Starfire. She fell to the ground in pain but she still had her wits. The anger had left her as she realized what she was doing, hurting her friend but the anger was still there for him holding her back to save Beast Boy. That she wasn't going to forget any time soon.

Robin rose to his feet catching his breath. Starfire rushed to his side and helped him up. Robin placed his hands signaling he was okay and Starfire slowly moved The pback.

"Raven I'm sorry for you losing Beast Boy I know you loved him, we all did but I had to do what's best for the team." Raven stood up and cleared her throat, her hood was down and everyone could see the emotion in her face.

"No you did what was best for yourself, and there is no more team not with Gar and without me I'm leaving." Starfire began to panic.

"No Raven you can't leave please we have already lost one friend we cannot lose you two." Raven put her head down.

"You already did, whatever was left of me died when Beast Boy got pushed out into the ocean. I'm leaving and I hope I never see any of you again. You let Beast Boy die and I want all of you to know, You're all dead to me." Raven put her hood up and was prepared to leave the room but Aqua lad stopped her.

"Raven come with us, you can't go through this alone." Raven looked at Aqua lad's hand on her arm.

"Okay but we leave now and don't expect me to come back."

Cyborg lost control of himself "Raven don't this asshole has been doing nothing but try to have sex with you since he got here now he's inviting you to live with. He doesn't have enough respect for Beast Boy and now he tries this? Please don't tell me you're this stupid."

Raven turned around and got in Cyborg's face "At least, he didn't let him die." Cyborg couldn't believe what he had just heard. Those words ripped through him like a knife, it hurt more than anything that ever had previously. Her words were betrayal.

Speedy stepped in. "Enough! Everyone is hurting and this isn't going to help Raven if you're coming with us let's go. Robin, Star, Cy take as much time as you need but we need to go investigate Ne'gan's defection. Will be in touch."

The titans east began to leave the room one by one. Starfire and Robin stood there emotionless as Cyborg slammed his fists into the ground almost collapsing the floor. Raven walked next to Aqua lad outside to the dock for them to board their ship.

"Don't worry Rae, this change of scenery will do you good, we'll take care of you." She said nothing as the team boarded the ship and exited the harbor silently.

Back inside the three remaining titans began to break down.

"HOW COULD SHE SAY THAT TO ME, SHE KNEW HE WAS MY BEST FRIEND AND FOR HER- THAT FUCKING CUNT" Cyborg continued to slam his fists into things around the room.

Robin let out a quick "enough"

Cyborg turned and looked at hi,

"We all need some time, Cyborg stay here, Star fire come with me I'm officially suspending the teen titans until further notice." Starfire was stunned.

"No Robin surely there must be another way."

"No Star he's right, we need to stop kidding ourselves, Beast Boy is dead and we need to regroup so please leave." Starfire began to hysterically cry, Robin escorted her out of the room but made eye contact with Cyborg before leaving. Their eyes shared a tearful goodbye even though they never spoke a word.

Cyborg collapsed on the floor as Robin left the room. Behind him in the corner, the dark shadow that entered the room the night before the accident shot out of the room and shattered the window. Cyborg didn't even blink as he sat there in emotional death. His life shattered around him. What does a window matter?

The black matter floated outside the tower. "Plans worked, proceeding to next step."

A voice came back over the radio "Heard proceed."

The black matter flew out into water in the same direction as Beast Boy's casket.
