:Schools being mean to me again guys :( I have a project due in History, a packet of work to do in Anatomy and I have an essay due in English. Ah well, I'll get through it somehow. This chapter was slightly difficult to type because I didn't know how to start it. I hope you enjoy it though!:
The royal siblings sat across each other with their friend at their side, his elbow on the table and his chin resting in his palm as he observed them. The table had two stacks of cards on it, one near each of the two relatives. The cards resembled the ones the ones they had seen a while ago, the memory fresh in all the royal's minds. They were sitting in the same room Seto had talked to them in, a normal room that was used for anything. The dorm was big enough, but Seto would find them here easily and they didn't want to make him mad by making themselves hard to find.
"Do you want me to determine the order," Malik spoke out. "or do you two want to play rock paper scissors?" Atemu and Mana turned their eyes to their friend, both of them thinking for a moment. They could trust Malik to determine the order, and it was faster than doing rock paper scissors. The two knew each other so well that for 5 minutes they had sat there playing the childish game just trying to see who would act first.
"I think it'd be better for you to do it." Mana smiled, darting her eyes quickly to her brother, waiting for a disagreement. Atemu smiled back at her, nodding his head in agreement with her. Malik thought for a moment, before he smiled.
"Choose a number one through ten." He asked. There were times when he had said one through one hundred, but then they would sometimes be so far off that it would take as long as their rock paper scissor matches.
"3" Atemu answered.
"8" Mana also answered.
Malik smiled and pointed at the prince, his hand in the form of a gun. Atemu smirked at this, making Mana pout at her luck. It wasn't that bad going second though, you could attack, but the meaning of being first gave you the ability to set traps and do all sorts of things to defend against the other player.
The two of them reached for their stack of cards, each of them taking five into their hands. This was their sixth game, the royals had taken a shine to it, finding it interesting and strategic. They would go back and forth between the three of them, whoever lost would have to trade places with Malik, while the winner would have to swap decks with someone. They decided this to make it fair, it was so that they could learn to use a combination of cards instead of just their own, and besides why learn a deck you're not going to use? They had already made their decks, and they had tested them out, but they didn't want to get too used to them.
Atemu looked to his sister, before placing his hand on his deck and drawing a card. He looked at his options, he didn't have much, but it was something. In his hand he held; Mirror Force, which was quite a useful card, Card Trader, a slow draw power card, Attrafic Control, a card that was only useful when your opponent would swarm the field, Attack The Moon, this card would destroy a spell or trap if he changed a position of a rock monster, Kuriboh, a cute and useful card if used correctly, and then...
Mana waited patiently, her eyes trailing over her brother's confident gaze on his cards. He must have gotten a good hand, she told herself. She looked down at her own, finding them interesting. The cards held in her hand were; 3 gift cards; A card that would give 3000 lifepoints to the opponent, Injection Fairy Lily, a cute but deadly card, and Honest, a helpful card to protect light monsters. She looked up, finding her brother to be smirking, that can't be good.
Malik looked between the two, finding it fun to both play and watch. It was fun to play, because of how intense the match could get, but it was fun to watch because you would learn new strategies, and with what his main deck was, he needed to see some. He didn't even know what the others had made for their deck, him and the two had created theirs in the same room, but he had not a clue about if Seto made a deck. If he made one, maybe it would be a difficult one? It would fit him quite well.
"I activate three continuous spell cards." Atemu spoke, laying three green cards face up at the bottom of the field. "Card Trader, Attrafic Control, and Attack The Moon." He told Mana, watching as her eyebrows began to furrow. She sighed internally, the first turn, really?
"Then..." He grabbed the three cards and held them. "I tribute them," He placed them to the side in the graveyard zone. "to summon Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder." He placed the strong monster on the field, making Mana cringe at the knowledge that it was there, it had 4000 attack and 4000 defense, and it's effect was harsh. Atemu lowered his smirk to a soft, menacing smile.
"I end my turn." He told her, making her nod in response. Mana grabbed at her deck, hoping that she would get something that would help her. She drew a card, looking at it in surprise. Her eyes lit up, no way! She had to calm herself down, she was tempted to smirk, but then Atemu would get curious, not that it would help him anyway. If he didn't have Mystical Space Typhoon, he was done for.
"I set four cards face down," Mana placed four cards down at the bottom of her side of the field. "and I end my turn." Atemu blinked in confusion, huh? He had fought all three of the decks, but they had never done that. Maybe all she got was traps and spells? He shook his head, not giving it too much thought as he reached over and grabbed at his deck to enter his draw phase.
"I activate a trap card." Mana announced the moment he touched a card. Atemu blinked in confusion at this, what? She flipped a card on her side of the field, revealing Bad Reaction to Simochi, a card that made it so that if the opponent gained any lifepoints, they would lose it instead.
"Okay..." Atemu uttered out, not knowing why it would make a difference. He took the drawn card into his hand, beginning his standby phase.
"I activate another trap card." Mana announced once again, flipping a card over and revealing Gift Card. Atemu cringed, that meant he took 3000 damage. He turned his eyes to Malik, who was the one keeping track of their lifepoints, he was at 5000 now. "I'm not done yet." She smiled. "I chain another card." She flipped another card over, another gift card. Another 3000 lost. "I chain another." She flipped the final card on her field over, revealing the trap card once again, another 3000 gone...
"If I do the math right..." Malik turned his eyes to Atemu and smirked. "I would have to say you just lost." The prince turned his gaze to his friend, glaring at him but smiling after a moment before nodding. Mana sat there, pleased with herself as Atemu stood up and gestured for Malik to stand up as well. Malik obeyed, making his way to the seat across from Mana and sitting down.
Malik placed all of Atemu's cards back in the deck, handing it to Mana before she handed her deck to her brother. Atemu took the deck, reaching down near the bottom of his chair to grab Malik's deck, he handed it to his friend with a smile.
"Okay, so." Malik smiled. "Rock paper sciss-" A loud slam resounded throughout the room, making the three jump at the noise and jerk their head around to the interruption. Seto stood there, his face red, breathing heavily as he glared in the their direction. The three cringed, okay, they did something bad...
"What are you doing here?!" He yelled, stomping over to the table and slamming his hands onto it. Mana and Malik looked at each other, not knowing if they should talk or not. Atemu, however, took a deep breath and shook his head. He didn't know what they did wrong, but obviously it was something to do with being here.
"This is our dorm." Atemu answered blankly. "Why wouldn't we be here?" Seto felt his eye twitch at that, did they not know what they were supposed to be doing?! How could they forget?!
"You are supposed to be at the event area!" Seto explained. "We were to go and get ready to present ourselves to the student body like we always do."
"Like the student body needs to know who we are." Malik mumbled. "This would be, what? Two times now?" Mana shook her head.
"No, three actually if I'm correct."
"If you count arriving here as a presentation, then this would be the fourth time."
"Atemu, they didn't really know our names at that time."
"Yes they did, they announced them, remember?"
"Oh yeah, they-"
"Will you be serious for once?!" Seto yelled, his glare getting harsher with each second that passed. "You are royalty, you are supposed to know what-" A deck of cards went flying at his face, shocking the poor adviser and making him fall back onto his bottom, cards beginning to scatter amongst him. He heard the sound of footsteps running out of the room. He shook his head, turning to the side and seeing the other three dash out of the room.
"Why those..." He sighed, shaking his head and looking down at the floor to the cards. They knew where to go, he had told them the other day after everyone was back at the dorm, so maybe they would go now. Seto reached down to one of the cards on the floor, picking up a Kuriboh card. He shook his head, dusting it off and standing up. He observed the mess on the floor, how many cards did they throw at him? He sighed, reaching down to continue picking up cards.
"Now I'm going to be late..."

"Wait, hold on..." Bakura spoke, staring at Anzu with wide eyes as they walked amongst the crowd of students. "You and Mana are..." Anzu blushed, nodding and developing a large grin on her face. Yugi and Joey looked at each other, smiling.
They had been called from their dorms, telling them to immediately head to the area behind the school, however the four of them waited for each other. As soon as they did meet up and begin to walk, Anzu had told them of what had happened on Valentine's Day. Bakura was utterly shocked, Joey was happy for her, and Yugi was a combination of the two including a small spark of jealously. Yugi had liked her in the past, and still harbored the tiniest bit of affection for her, but it didn't matter now anyway, because all it was now was being protective of a friend. Anzu looked happy, but it worried him at the same time. Didn't the royals have to leave soon? How would their relationship still continue?
"I like her." Anzu said. "I like her a lot..." Joey chuckled, finding it cute to see Anzu like this. She had never really gone out with someone before, so it was a nice change. But it was a royal, the two of them were completely different, weren't they? Or was it his imagination? Maybe he was over thinking it, after all she looked happy and that was all that mattered.
"We can see that." Bakura chuckled awkwardly. "It just surprises me thats all, to suddenly go out with a princess like that. Do you think anyone else will know?" Anzu shrugged, not knowing the answer. Bakura narrowed his eyes in worry at his friend. Anzu was a hopeless romantic, so that meant her heart was easy to break. What if something happened when the royal left? What if she gets promised to someone or she doesn't want to continue the relationship? What will happen to them? She was happy, but it worried him to no end...
"It would be better if no one knew." Yugi said. "If people found out that Anzu was dating the princess, people might jealous and jealously never really ends up to be a good thing." Anzu pouted, that was true. Being with the princess means she might have to keep a low profile, but what if she didn't want it to be secretive? Would Mana keep it a secret? If they like each other this much, then it wouldn't matter who knew, right? She is a royal, but she had told her that she didn't care, so she couldn't say that. Anzu sighed, shaking her head.
"The only way for anyone to know if we're dating is if she tells someone." Anzu uttered out. "It doesn't matter to me anyway, as long as she agrees to only belong to me." The boy's eyes widened at this, that sounded like a marriage proposal!
"Going a little too fast, don'cha think?" Joey chuckled awkwardly, scratching the back of his head. Anzu pouted, glaring in his direction.
"She's my girlfriend, that means she belongs to me." She crossed her arms. "Right?" Yugi sighed, she did have a point. When you date someone they belong to you, so they couldn't argue with her.
"Okay, I'll note it down." Bakura pretended to put on invisible glasses and pull out an invisible notebook and pen. "Mana belongs to Anzu, noted." The friends laughed at this, finding it funny to see Bakura doing such a thing. Anzu took a deep breath, it'll work out okay. Mana likes her, and she likes her back, so they'll work out, no matter what happens.
The group walked behind the school, a crowd of students already gathering around and gaping at what was stationed around the area. There were giant bubbles floating around, the bubbles being made of a tough glass and were connected to a large machine. Each bubble was as tall as a skyscraper and was as wide as a football field. At each end of every bubble was a line that looked to resemble the shape of a door, what were these things? Inside the bubble there was a large scoreboard, the boards being labeled with two large black blank rectangles with the words LIFEPOINTSnext to them. What was this?
"This is new..." Bakura uttered out, squinting to see every bubble around the area. The section behind the school was huge, so it held a good ten bubbles. Around the area wasn't just bubbles, but there were coolers and benches, as if they would be there for a while.
"It looks kind of cool for once." Joey commented, taking a step forward and gesturing toward the bubbles. "What do you think we have to do in those?" Yugi narrowed his eyes.
"Not sure..." He whispered, before letting out a yelp as a loud siren went throughout the area, the sound erupting in the student's ears and resounding amongst the entire landscape. Smoke began to spread around the feet of the students, making some of them panic as they wondered what was happening. Was there a fire? A loud horn went off along with the siren, the two noises harmonizing and making the students look up without their consent. Smoke filled the air, forcing the sky to be filled with a dark gray color.
In the air were five shadows, each of the figures having a jet pack on their back. The five of them were stationed in an arrow formation, the head of the arrow being taller than the rest of them. The smoke cleared slowly, the students voices dying down to an amazed whispered as it dissipated. The four friends looked up in amazement, how did they even know how to work one of those things?!
Pegasus stood at the head of the arrow, on his left Atemu and Seto, on his right Mana and Malik. The five of them were clothed differently than before, they were not wearing the school uniform. Pegasus wore a crimson red suit, white frills coming out of the sleeves with white shoes, giving him an opposing yet comical look. The students were surprised at this, he would try to fit in with them, so it was rare to see him in a different attire.
Seto wore what looked to be a long black sleeved shirt and matching pants, along with a long silver and blue coat that flowed down to his matching black shoes. Joey stared up at him in awe, before he began to take in his outfit slowly. The shirt, the pants...That was what he had told him to wear on their date! He flushed, looking away from the royal.
On Malik was a dark blue tank-top with a sleeveless dark gray jacket with a tall collar with matching gray pants and shoes. He smirked, moving some of his hair off of his collar and looked down, finding Bakura to be staring at him. He smirked wider, winking at the boy to turn his pale face to become a slight pink color. Bakura couldn't believe that he would wear something like that, he shouldn't be, because he didn't know what he really wore to begin with. But it didn't look like it would be his style, not to say that it didn't look good on him...
Mana was adjourned in a sleeveless dark blue top that revealed her stomach, the only thing connecting the shirt to her neck was a crisscrossed design, on her legs were black shorts and knee high socks, on her feet were dark colored boots. Anzu blinked in shock, every time she had seen Mana she wore something bright and colorful, what was this change? She blushed, finding her girlfriend to not only pull off bright colors, but to pull off dark colors as well! It had to be a gift to look good in almost any color.
Atemu crossed his arms, looking down at his outfit. It consisted of a dark long sleeved jacket with a tight black leather tank top and matching leather pants and shoes, needless to say he was rather uncomfortable. He didn't really find any appeal in leather, and it was awkward to move in from what he could tell, but it was said to look good on him, so he couldn't really say anything. He looked down, finding Yugi to be staring up at him. Yugi didn't know what to say about the prince, what was he wearing? It was hot outside, wouldn't he faint or something? He stared at him, worried for the poor royal. Atemu smiled softly at him, waving at him for about a second before he placed his hand back down quickly. Yugi flushed, turning his eyes down to the ground.
"Welcome to the third event, ladies and gentlemen!" Pegasus announced, moving his arms to the side. The students cheered, excited now after such an entrance. "I know you are very curious of what this event might be, but worry not I shall explain it to you in great detail!" The students cheered once again, before quieting down to hear the explanation.
"This event consists of an interesting game, a game that is well known around the area." Pegasus reached into his suit, pulling out a brown card. "Does anyone here know the game Duel Monsters?" Applause erupted everywhere, shocking every student and making a majority of them even more excited. The four friends stood there, their past coming up and giving them fond memories. The four of them had played it in middle school, how could they forget?
"This is a different kind of Duel Monsters." Pegasus began. "The duel will take place inside one of these bubbles," He moved a hand in the direction of a large bubble, smiling. "What you must do is activate the machine in front of it, giving you entrance into the bubble, once you are inside the entrance will shut and you are not allowed to leave until the duel is complete." He crossed his arms. "You will have eight-thousand lifepoints, and for the first two turns no one may attack nor may they roam." The students let out whispers of confusion. Pegasus held up a hand to silence them. "In this Duel Monsters, you may roam, you have to roam. The bubble is your field, and this is not a normal game. You yourself in this game are a monster. If you hit a person with your hands, the damage is one hundred and fifty lifepoints, while kicking is five hundred. Throughout the duel, you may equip spell or trap cards on yourself to increase your attack damage, and yes, you can defeat them by hitting them. However you are not allowed to hit in the groin area, or the chest area, if you are female."
"Also, if you are in a pickle and you do not want to lose, you may kiss each other and whatever lifepoints they have will be added to your lifepoints, and whatever lifepoints you have will be added to theirs." The students all looked at each other, as if trying to figure out who would do such a thing. "Do note though, that card effects do work with this. So, be warned. Now, when it comes to monsters, you must treat them as if they are your best friend. Monsters in this have their own mind and emotion set, also with monsters you may attack directly at anytime due to this being a roaming duel. However, this also means you may dodge an attack in two ways; You either simply move out of the way, or your monster comes and saves you. The duel lasts one hour exactly, and this event is a choice. You do not have to participate, there is no reward, it is only a fun event for everyone."
"This is a rare event." Pegasus smirked. "It is barely drawn due to it being a complicated event, but it is a fun one. Now, you might be wondering; What if I do not have any cards to play with?" He rose a hand in the air. "We solved that for you." He snapped his fingers and a loud vibration went throughout the area, forcing students to let out a yell or to stumble. Yugi let out a gasp, latching onto his friends and his friends, in turn, latched onto him as well. The group of students looked to the side, finding one of the buildings connected to the school begin to open to reveal a large area full of briefcases.
"There are over one hundred thousand briefcases in this room." Pegasus spoke, his eyes on the building. "Each student is allowed two briefcases, each briefcase holds 200 cards. I will give you one hour to construct a deck and choose a person to duel." He turned his eyes back to the students, gaining their attention back.
"So, allow me to welcome you all once more to this event with it's proper name." Pegasus stood up straighter, moving his arms to the side as if he was displaying the area to the students.
"Welcome to En Garde!"
:This was the very first event I ever planned actually, since there is so much to do in it. Also, I want to say Happy Early Halloween! I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Please review!:
