-Sonic

As he wandered through the silent woods, save for the birds chirping in the distance, Sonic thought about what he could have done to stop this before it had even begun. How...? With every try Eggman has always loused up somewhere...why does this time feel different? He thought. He watched as his slender legs seemed to move by themselves, slowly moving him along, as he was so deep in thought. It was the distant snapping of a twig that shook him back to reality. He looked around, now realizing he was where he had captured Nick and his friends just earlier that very morning. He sighed.

He continued to walk along, reaching out an arm to gingerly touch the bright-green fern leaves that spread from the plant of which they belonged to. He couldn't help but break a slight smile, knowing that at least there were some things that even Eggman couldn't affect. One thing was that no matter how hard he'll try to dominate it, nature will always reclaim that of which it has lost. And there's no changing that. He realized just how important is was that he didn't lose hope, especially now in a time of such desperate measures, a perfect example of such was the need of a stranger to do what Sonic felt obligated to. He pulled back his hand as his frustration got the best of him and he whipped his hand at the fern's tender leaf.

There was a loud bang in the distance.

He looked up, examining the trees and plants for the source of such a sound, but unable to find it. His eyes widened as he knew what was going on. He jumped into the air, but was caught in a net just as he was about to reach a tree branch, sending him flying until he hit a tree to stop him. He winced in pain, and glared at his attacker as he came into view. "Aw, poor Sonic, left all alone out in the forest!" Eggman teased in his raspy voice, one that Sonic knew well. "To be completely honest, I wasn't expecting this to be so easy!" He felt his glare of hatred through the egg-shaped man's dark glasses as he sat on his Egg Mobile, which flew about as he taunted his prey. "Ohohoho!"

"Eggman!" Sonic snarled.

He slammed his fists next to the control panel of his hovering vehicle. "My name is Doctor Robotnik!" he angrily yelled, then slowly smiled, "and believe me Sonic, the feeling of hatred is mutual, but now, I have the upper hand!" Sonic struggled to get out of his heavily-coiled rope cage, but failed to do a thing. "Oh give up, Sonic! You might as well just admit that you have lost at last." Sonic desperately kicked the rope, but with to no avail, for it was too tight. When his legs fell limp, he decided to try a different tactic. He stood up. "Eh?" Eggman showed confusion.

"You won't be laughing when I get out of here, Eggman!" He ran as fast as he could, inside the net still, causing him to be able to move still, but hardly, and he didn't get very far until he was stuck inside the vegetation, soon stopping him in his tracks.

"Hehe...I see you'll be here for awhile, so I'll just go on ahead and leave you alone for a bit. But don't worry! I'll be right back after I get your two little friends."

Sonic looked at him, fear gripping him. "No!" he pleaded. But it was too late, he already was moving, quite fast, at that. It wasn't long before he was alone, and Eggman too far away to see in the distance. He knew it wouldn't take long for him to get there, so he had to act fast. "Don't worry, guys..." he said to himself as he frantically looked about for something to get him out of there. Something that glinted in a small patch of sunlight caught his eye.
