:Hi everyone! Sorry I'm so late, I was trying to figure out how I was going to write the Christmas oneshot and this was pushed back for a bit. But it's posted now, so I can focus on this for a while again! I hope everyone had a good holiday, and I hope you enjoy this chapter!:
Joey didn't know whether to groan or to laugh. Yugi had been sleeping in his bed the entire night, which made him have to sleep with Bakura because he wouldn't dare touch Yugi's stuff. So this little action had made him angered but he wanted to laugh, mainly because of why he was sleeping in his bed.
His bed was closest to the floor, the bottom bunk. Which meant Yugi had come into the dorm and went to the nearest bed because he didn't have the energy to climb due to what had happened. It was just a kiss, but to Yugi it was probably something more due to the fact it was his first. Joey had tried to kiss him before, but he was politely rejected and he didn't mind.
"Aren't you supposed to be waking the little guy up?" Bakura yawned, walking to the closet and grabbing at his uniform. He had gotten up because of what was going to happen today. He didn't need to be there, but he wanted to see what would happen and if the whole plan would work.
The group had consulted Ms. Valentine about it and she had agreed to go along with it, but still what would the other students say? What if one of them could tell all of it was acted out? They'd been in theater for a while, wouldn't they be able to tell the difference between acting and reality?
"Yeah..." Joey sighed, smiling and shaking his head. This week was the perfect week for the plan to occur, it was a day long practice the entire time. Which meant they were in the theater class for the entire school period. He had a main role in the play, but they couldn't have the plan happen immediately, it would be far too obvious.
Joey reached over to the sleeping teen, taking him gently by the shoulder and shaking him. "Yugi, wake up." He spoke, trying to waken him.
Yugi stirred in his sleep, opening his eyes slowly. Joey had to blink in surprise, the poor kid's eyes were slightly red, as if he had been crying. Had Yugi been crying about a kiss? Man, it must of confused the shit out of him.
He had only seen Yugi cry once, and that was when he was younger and he cried over not knowing what to do on a timed writing. The teacher had to come over and tell him he could do it and that they would give him five extra minutes. After that Yugi had written it and gotten one of the highest scores.
"What?" Yugi mumbled out, sitting up slowly and rubbing at his eyes.
"We have practice today, remember?"
"I don't wanna go."
"Huh?" Joey voiced in confusion. "Again?"
"Yes, again." Yugi replied, throwing himself back down onto the bed and covering his head with the covers.
Joey narrowed his eyes, grabbing at the blanket and beginning to tug on it.
"You are not skipping another practice!" Joey groaned, trying his best to get the blanket off of the small teen. Honestly, what kind of grip did this guy have?!
"Why won't you get up?!"
"I don't wanna go!"
"Why the hell not?!"
"He doesn't want to run into princey." Bakura commented, sitting down in a nearby chair and placing his shoes on.
"What?!" Yugi yelled, sitting up quickly and throwing Joey and the blanket onto the floor out of shock. "I don't care if I run into him!"
"Then why don't you want to go?"
"I just don't like dressing up as a girl."
"You've done it once and you'll have to do it again anyway." Bakura looked to him and smirked. "Might as well try to make the outfit look good." He stood up, walking over to Yugi, and carefully stepping over Joey, before he grabbed Yugi's chin and lifted it up gently.
"Please?" He whispered. "For me? If you don't..." He leaned forward, his eyelids beginning to close. This sent Yugi in a panic, his eyes widening before he used both of his hands to push Bakura away and to jump out of the bed.
"I'm getting dressed!" He squeaked, his voice being ten octaves higher than usual. He darted to the closet, grabbing at his uniform quickly and ignoring the other boys in the room.
Bakura laughed, not noticing his soft landing as he placed a hand on something warm.
"Oh, did I land on you?" Bakura laughed, looking down at his pillow.
"Oh I don't know, maybe!" Joey pushed himself up, forcing the silver haired teen to tumble off his back with a loud laugh.
"Joey." Yugi spoke, his voice returning back to normal as he calmed down. "Shouldn't you get dressed?"
The blond blinked at this, looking down at his attire and noticing his pajamas. He glanced at Bakura, noticing he was fully dressed.
"Crap!"

"I honestly have to wonder about how you two meet up so quickly..." Seto sighed, crossing his arms as he stared at the couple in front of him. He and the other royals had gotten up early, as they were instructed to, and were to wait behind the theater to be allowed in through the back.
He was meant to go in with Atemu since they were to have special permission from the director to view the play up close. While Mana and Malik were to go up in the audience to watch, they really weren't meant to do anything but they were there to see it.
"Well, when you get a lover of your own then you'll understand." Anzu commented, letting out a giggle as she latched onto her girlfriend's arm and placed a kiss on her cheek. She had left her dorm extra early, rushing over to the theater to meet up with the royals. Since she wasn't in the same room as the boys, she didn't need to wait. Bakura was meant to come back here too, but she assumed that he would tell a lie and get here as soon as possible.
"That will probably happen within the next week." Mana told her, smiling and leaning her head next to Anzu's.
"Do you not remember that we are leaving within the next two weeks?" Seto spoke, hating how his heart began to hurt at that slight knowledge. He felt someone slap his back, which made him let out a gasp and turn to the source.
"Will you just chill?" Malik pouted. "Just because we're leaving doesn't mean anything, its called letters and visiting, you know." He crossed his own arms, hating how Seto's attitude had returned back to formal and rude. Whenever Joey was around he would change, and it was much more fun to be around him. Honestly, Malik was one hundred percent sure that if Seto and Joey got together, the adviser would be happy and normal all the time.
"If you are not worried about the long distance relationship that will occur, How about you try to find a relationship?" Seto grumbled, noticing how Malik's face began to turn bright red at the statement.
"W-What?" Malik gasped out. "M-Me? Well..." He thought about Bakura, the date they went on, how close they were now, the chocolates on Valentine's day, the duel...
"If Malik has to do it, you have to do it." Atemu suddenly spoke, leaning against the wall of the theater. "It wouldn't be fair if only he had to."
"Why must I do it?"
"So that you'll stop being a bump on a log all the time."
"I hardly doubt that being in a relationship will change anything."
"Think about being in a relationship with Joey." Atemu darted his eyes to his adviser, the slightest hint of a smirk appearing on his face.
Seto's eyes widened at this, his mind swarming with thoughts of the blond. His voice, his smile, the way he acted. He felt his heart begin to pound and his face began to brighten. Him in a relationship with Joey? Well...
"He's blushing!" Anzu pointed out, smiling at this statement. Seto immediately covered his face with his hand.
"I am not." Seto argued, knowing that they could tell it was a lie. Why did the blond have such a strong effect on him?!
"Come on, just do it." Mana laughed. "We're already trying to set Atemu up with Yugi, might as well get everyone else in a relationship."
"Yes, but it is not that easy." Seto growled. "To ask someone to be in an relationship might cause-"
"Cause what, problems?" Mana looked to her girlfriend, removing her arm from Anzu for just a moment before she placed it on her hip and pulled her close. "Does this look like a problem?"
"Mana!" Anzu blushed, looking down as her heart began to pound. She glanced at her girlfriend, finding her to already be looking at her and locking their eyes together. Mana smiled, pulling her closer as she slowly closed her eyes.
"If you two are going to kiss, may I ask you do it somewhere else?" Seto spat. "I understand, being in a relationship might give an opportunity to relieve stress."
"Sexual stress?" Malik winked, before finding Seto to be glaring at him.
"You have three seconds."
"Three seconds for what?"
"One..." Seto took a step forward, making Malik back up. Atemu and the others watched, a grin slowly appearing on their faces. Was Seto about to...?
"Two..." Atemu hadn't seen Seto do this in ages, he did this in the past when they were younger but now? This was probably because of Joey, he had been acting formal but changes are usually permanent and are shown everywhere.
"Three!" Malik broke into a run, Seto following behind him. This caused an eruption of laughter out of the others, watching as their oh so serious adviser chase down the playful friend.
"Seto only did that when we were kids!" Mana giggled, noticing how the two royals were chasing each other in a circle, never leaving the theater area.
Malik ran as fast as his legs would carry him, for Ra's sake why the hell was he chasing him?! He knew what he was doing as soon as he began the countdown, but he just couldn't believe it! He looked behind him, noticing Seto to be looking to the side and slowing to a stop. What was he doing? Why was he stoppin-
Malik let out a gasp, suddenly running into something and beginning to tumble backwards. Arms grabbed him, stopping him from falling and pulled him close, forcing warmth to overcome his body. Whatever was holding him was holding him tightly and...
"Having fun?" A voice breathed gently in his ear, making Malik blush brightly and move back quickly. He looked up, violet meeting chocolate.
"B-Bakura!" He gasped out, his mouth gaping like a fish out of water. "I-I um..." Bakura shook his head, smiling before squeezing Malik tightly for a second.
"Good morning, Malik." He released him, walking to the other royals and leaving the stunned blond behind.
"Quite the entrance there." Atemu smirked, pushing himself off of the wall.
"Why thank you." Bakura made a small bow. He stood up straight, looking to the back door. "We ready?"
Atemu looked to the door and to Malik, waiting for the boy to break out of his shock and make his way over to them.
"Yes, I believe we are."

Yugi walked in at Joey's side, looking down as he entered the theater. Bakura had came with them, but after halfway he had said that he had to go prepare for a project in another class. It was odd, but he didn't mind really. He didn't feel like getting up today, but maybe the practice today wouldn't be that bad, as long as they didn't practice the kissing scene he would be okay.
"Is it dress rehearsal or not?" Yugi questioned, lifting his head to look to his friend. Joey looked down at him, shaking his head and smiling.
"Not today, buddy." Joey replied. "You won't have to dress up, but you still have to do your hair." Yugi rolled his eyes, he always had to do his hair.
"I know that." Yugi mumbled, looking around as they walked into the backstage area where the dressing room was. He opened the door, Joey at his side, and took a quick glance around. No one was in the room, good, he could brush his hair in peace.
"Help me find my brush." Yugi ordered, going toward where his station was and looking around it. It wasn't uncommon for his brush to go missing, that's why he had ordered Joey to help. The girls would pick it up to do his hair for him most of the time and forget to put it back, it was a hassle but they didn't care.
"I think they put it back this time." Joey commented, rummaging around in the girls' stations. "They would usually put it in their area if they forget to put it back."
Yugi opened a drawer, finding his brush immediately with a smile. So they did put it back, rare, but good on them. He picked it up, raising it toward Joey to indicate he found it.
"Do you need help?" Joey asked, which in turn got him a strange look in response. "Okay, I get it. You don't." Yugi smiled and shook his head before grabbing at one of his spikes and brushing it down gently.
"What scenes are we practicing today?" Yugi questioned, taking another spike into his hand. Joey walked to him, leaning on his station and crossing his arms.
"We have day long practices the entire week." Joey told him. "So we're practicing act one today, act two tomorrow, act three the next day, and the entire play on Friday."
Yugi furrowed his eyebrows, he had forgotten about that. All week they were to practice this thing. The weekend was the play, and he had forgotten about it? Well you have a good reason, after all the only reason you forgot was because of-
Yugi grabbed at another spike, cutting off his thoughts as his face turned a slight shade of pink.
"When we practice the entire play are we going to dress up?"
"I think so."
"How are we going to do the kissing scene by the way?"
"That depends." Joey looked up. "We could actually kiss, which is what Ms. Valentine wants, or we could stage kiss, which isn't hard to do but doesn't look as real." Yugi nodded at this knowledge, stage kissing was easy but it wasn't efficient or good acting and since the Red Nile's kiss is kind of sad, it was almost recommended that it would be a real kiss. A real kiss...
Yugi stopped as he pressed a finger to his lips, how would a kiss feel from someone else? Did he want to kiss someone else? He tried to think of Joey kissing him, but nothing appeared. Could he kiss someone else? He turned his eyes to Joey, placing them on his lips and trying to imagine those lips on his own. Nothing.
"You alright?" Joey rose an eyebrow, noticing how Yugi was staring at him. Yugi blushed, looking away quickly and resuming his brushing.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Yugi responded quietly. What was that all about? Why wouldn't you want to kiss someone else? The only person you've even kissed was...
"I'm almost done." Yugi spoke, his voice a little shaky as his face turned brighter. Stop thinking of him! He just kissed you to win the duel! No he didn't, he's been wanting to do that for a while and you know it. His hands began to shake as he attempted to grab at another spike, his mouth was becoming dry. He felt a pair of hands on his, one grabbing at the spike and the other grabbing the brush.
"Do you mind if I help?" Joey asked, smiling sadly at his friend. "You're a bit twitchy there." Yugi looked at him, amazed and impressed on how he noticed. He shouldn't have been though, he's known Joey for such a long time so it was obvious that he would notice.
"No, I don't mind." Yugi smiled and straightened his back, watching in the mirror in front of him as Joey began to brush his hair.
"Thank you."

Malik followed the other three people up into the audience, looking down at the stage from time to time to look at all the students gathering around. They were wearing their uniforms but some of their hair was different, as if they at least needed to look like the person they were portraying.
"I think this is high enough." Anzu voiced, going to the very top of the seats and moving in-between the chairs to take a seat near the middle. Mana followed her, taking a place next to her.
Bakura looked to Malik, who was distracted by the students down on stage. He glared at the students, what was so interesting about them? All they were doing was talking amongst themselves and saying some lines, it was nothing exciting. He reached forward, taking hold of Malik's hand and earning the royal's gaze upon him.
"Come on," He urged. "We're going to go sit now." He pulled on his hand, smiling slightly as he heard the royal let out a small yelp at his tug. He sat next to Mana, placing Malik right next to him and releasing his hand.
"You didn't have to drag me." Malik mumbled, his eyes returning to the stage as his cheeks turned red.
"If I didn't you would've stood there for god knows how long." Bakura teased, propping his elbow up on an arm rest and placing his chin on his fist. He glanced to the side, taking in Malik's appearance. He was just wearing the school uniform like everyone else, but still...
He looked down at the arm rest that separated them and pulled it up before looking to Malik with a smirk on his face.
"So how long do we have to wa-" Malik let out a gasp, feeling someone place their arm around his shoulder and pull him quickly onto a warm torso. He looked up, finding his eyes to meet Bakura's. He felt his chest tighten immediately at the sight, they were so close!
"Bakura?!" He whispered out in a hurried voice. Bakura let out a soft chuckle, holding him tighter.
"You don't like it?" Bakura asked, forcing himself to put the emotion of hurt into his voice. Malik looked away quickly.
"It's not that..."
"Did you two forget that we were here?" Mana rose an eyebrow, smiling shyly at the teens. The two looked to her, noticing how her and Anzu seemed to be holding hands on the arm rest.
"No, we just don't care." Bakura responded, making Malik open his mouth in protest.
"I do too-" Bakura pressed a finger to Malik's lips, shushing him and pointing out to the stage. Malik pouted at this, before he obeyed and looked down to where he was told.
"Leave them be, Mana." Anzu yawned, leaning her head over to place it onto Mana's shoulder. "They're having fun..."
"Are you tired?" Mana giggled, holding her girlfriend's hand tighter and leaning her head onto Anzu's.
"A little..."
"You can take a nap if you want."
"But I'll miss the plan..."
"It doesn't matter, I'll tell you all about it." Mana kissed her head with a smile. "Just rest, okay?"
Anzu smiled tiredly, before she nodded and fell asleep.

Yugi walked onto the main stage, raising a hand to touch his straightened hair as he was blinded by bright spotlights. He rose his other hand, shielding his sight from the blinding rays. Honestly, you'd think they were trying to kill them with how bright those things were.
"Wish we were allowed to wear hats or at least sunglasses." Joey grumbled, raising his hand as well to block his vision.
"Sunglasses weren't invented in the past."
"They had hats though."
"I guess." Yugi chuckled, taking a glance around from under his fingers. He could barely make out two figures talking to Ms. Valentine, which he would expect were some student. She was probably telling them some lines or prop set ups.
"Oh!" She gasped out, looking in their direction. "There you two are!" She spoke some words to the people next to her, before she walked to them with the two right behind her. "I wanted you two to see the people who will be observing the rehearsal today."
"Ms. Valentine, we know who they are..." Joey spoke, removing his hand and smiling at the two people.
"We do?" Yugi questioned, removing his hand to look at them. In a split second, time stopped for him. He could see nothing but the person who was standing in front of him. Why is he here? Why out of all the places did he have to be here?!
Atemu stood there, right beside Seto, his crimson eyes looking down at Yugi with his orbs slightly narrowed, his cheeks turning pink. As if he was going to try to say something but was too embarrassed to say it. He was just staring at him, the emotions swirling in the red pool of his eyes. Regret, hope, was that affection?
Don't speak, Yugi begged, please don't say a word! He felt his own body and mind begin to react to Atemu being there. His cheeks were turning bright, his body was beginning to turn to jelly, his heart couldn't go any faster than it was going now. He clutched his fists, trying to will the emotions out. You're still friends with the guy, don't act like anything is different!
But something is different! Yugi yelled to his mind. You can't feel like this, don't you dare feel like this. He gulped, coming back into reality as he looked back into Atemu's eyes, trying so hard not to fall onto his wobbly knees.
"H-Hey." Yugi uttered out, knowing how ridiculous he sounded. The prince bit his lip, his tongue darting out to dry them before he opened his mouth, gaping like an idiot before he finally spoke;
"H-Hi." Atemu breathed out, Ra this was awkward. They stared at each other, not knowing when to leave the gaze. Yugi needed to leave it, but he couldn't will himself to. Stop feeling like this, you know what will happen if you do!
"So uh..." Yugi placed his hands behind his back, his eyes still refusing to leave. "How'd you sleep?" Great way to begin a conversation, great way.
"F-Fine..." Atemu scratched behind his head for a moment, not noticing how Joey and Seto were giving each other an amused look. "How about you?"
"Same..." Yugi let out an airy chuckle. "I uh...Have to go practice..."
"Yes..." Atemu agreed. "G-Good luck."
"Yeah..." Yugi licked his own lips. "Uh...Have fun, bye." He turned around quickly, going to where he was supposed to be for act one.
Atemu let out a held in breath and shook his head in frustration. What in Ra's name was that all about?! Not only did the mood change around him and Yugi, but he didn't even seem mad anymore! If anything he was just flustered the entire time! He had expected Yugi to yell and hit him, but no! Just awkward conversation!
"Well, that went well." Mai commented, smiling. "I can see that you and little Yugi have some tension."
"They have more than tension, let me tell ya." Joey placed a hand on his forehead. "Do you even know how long you two looked at each other like that?! This is worse than I thought..."
"I-I have no idea what you're talking about." Atemu looked to the side, which he found was a bad idea. Yugi appeared in his vision, talking to girls with a smile on his face, his cheeks still the color of blossom, sweat appeared on his brow making his skin take on a glistening shine that-
"And you're still looking!" Joey groaned. "We should have gone with Seto's idea, it might have gone faster!"
"It would have." Seto sighed. "It is obvious that Yugi feels something for you, Atemu." Joey glared in the adviser's direction, crossing his arms. Seto looked at him. "What?"
"Your voice." Joey tapped his foot. "Change it." Seto opened his mouth, before shutting it quickly as his face changed color.
"Sorry, I'm not used to it yet." Seto sighed. "Is this better?"
"Very much so." Joey smiled and returned his eyes to the prince. "Even I can see that Yugi is experiencing a really big crush."
Atemu didn't know whether to feel happy or a bit sad at that. If Yugi had a crush on him then that meant he was closer to winning the bet and gaining the beautiful teen as a spouse, but it made him sad because well...He didn't know if that was what Yugi wanted. All he had been thinking about in the past was making Yugi his, but would that make him happy? He didn't want to force him...
Yugi would gain the life of royalty, but from he had seen it looked as if he was fairing fine without being royal. As if Yugi enjoyed being a commoner, as if he enjoyed the challenge... Atemu didn't want to take that from him, was it even a good idea to do this?
Atemu wanted Yugi to like him, which it seemed like he did now, but what if Yugi was scared of the bet? He craved Yugi to think of him as something more than a friend, to just be able to be closer than anyone else in his life. But he couldn't force it on him...He shook his head, he couldn't think about this now. He could think about it later, when the time came he would.
"So how are we going to do this?" Atemu asked, finally regaining his composure and turning away from his interest. "In order for this to even happen..."
"It'll be fine." Mai smiled, making a gesture. "We can actually make it happen now if you want." Seto and Atemu looked at her, surprised at this.
"Huh?" Atemu voiced.
"Joey may not be very good at memorizing lines, but he is an excellent actor!" She praised with a smile. "So shall we show them, Mr. Wheeler?"
"I need a prop though." Joey placed his arms behind his head, leaning back on them. "I can't just do it out of nowhere, it wouldn't make sense."
Ms. Valentine pouted, looking around before she smiled and walked over to the side for a moment. She came back quickly, holding a gray object in her hand.
"Will a fake rock work?" She asked. Joey smiled at her, nodding quickly before she ran off and placed the rock in a random place on stage. The play was supposed to be in the desert, and the rock fit the scenery so no one would care if she placed it in a random position, after all she was the director.
"Alright, just watch and learn." Joey straightened his tie, looking in Yugi's direction. "Yugi!" The teen looked in his direction, Joey began to run to him. "Ms. Valentine said-"
Joey stepped onto the rock, making his foot twist in a diagonal direction. He let out a yell, falling quickly onto the floor with his foot moving oddly the entire way down. He fell on his side, grabbing at his ankle and letting out small grunts as he bit his lip and squeezed it, as if trying to force the pain out of the bone.
"Are you alright?!" Mai yelled, making her way quickly over to the fallen student. Seto and Atemu just stood there in shock, you have got to be kidding me. Seto quickly recovered, dashing over quickly to Joey and kneeling at his side.
"Hey are you-" Seto's eyes widened as Joey looked him, making the slightest grimace look like a smile. He was okay, he was faking it...
"Let me look at it." Mai knelt by Joey, taking the fake injury into her hand and rubbing it, as if feeling around for something. She furrowed her eyebrows, before she shook her head. "Great..." She sighed and held her forehead in her hands.
"Hey! Is he okay?" Yugi yelled, panicked as he pushed his way through other students to get to his friend. Mai looked to him with a sad smile.
"Yes, but..." She looked down, small tears forming in her eyes. "With this kind of injury he won't be able to perform, but we don't have another Wahankh..."
Yugi's eyes widened, what? They had been practicing this for so long and they didn't have a back up?! Didn't Ms. Valentine know that everyone needed a backup just in case they didn't show up or if they got hurt?!
"Actually..." Seto spoke up, gaining both Yugi and Mai's attention. "The royal family has practiced this play in the past and all of the royals here know the play by heart." He darted his eyes to Atemu, who had stayed put. "After all, the prince had sung Wahankh's part in the play."
"He knows the entire play?" Mai asked in disbelief. Yugi's eyes widened, wait...
"By heart." Seto smiled gently. "I too know it, but the prince's acting skills are far greater than my own. So if you don't mind..." He narrowed his eyes, locking his ice blue and the crimson red of the royal prince.
"Atemu would be more than willing to be his replacement."
:Welp, Yugi I dunno whether to be happy or scared for ya. I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Please review!:
