Chapter Twenty Eight Part Two
Taylor looked at Charlie nodded and without saying a word to Frankee or Joey walked out of the kitchen through the living room and straight out of the front door. Seeing the worrying and disappointment on Joey's face Charlie walked towards her and softly said "I'll drive her there and make sure that she gets back safe. She just needs time Joey" Joey smiled softly at Charlie also nodding that she knew Charlie was right with that Charlie did as Taylor had done and walked through the front room and out the front door as she closed the front door she turned looking at her patrol car where she saw Taylor waiting for her.
About Fifthteen minutes later Charlie pulled into one of the waiting bays at the Emergency department turning the off she radioed in to the station that she would be unavailable to attend any calls for the next thirty minutes as she was checking up on the victim of the attack on the beach. As she walked into the hospital with Taylor she was hoping with everything that she could that Alexis hadn't been a victim of a Sexual assault. As they walked through emergency department they came to the reception desk Charlie quickly asked for Alexis' location.
Brooke and Mel are sitting in the corridor outside Alexis' room waiting for Alexis to be brought back to the room after her X-ray and CT scan, at the moment she was lowly medicated to keep her calm while she was inside the CAT scanner. Unfortunately neither Brooke nor Mel was allowed to go with her. Brooke was brought out of her never ending thoughts of guilt and regret when she heard her name being called by a voice she knew to be Taylors. She looked to her left where the voice was coming from and saw Taylor running towards her followed by a seemingly cautious Charlie. As Taylor reached her she embraced Brooke lovingly asking "How is she doing?"
"She's having some tests done then we'll know more" Brooke noticed the seeming despair on Taylors face, knowing what was wrong she continued "But she was talking before they took her for the tests and she was asking for you…..and for pudding"
"Really?" Taylor asked not fully believing what Brooke had told her.
"Yeah, she was worried that she had hurt you badly"
"I'm fine as long as she is" She replied gently touching the marks on her face.
"She shouldn't be much longer Tay, then you can talk to her yourself" Mel softly interjected
"Thanks Mel" Taylor smiled brightly at Mel moving to the right slightly to hug her. Mel hugged her back softly smiling into the hug, seeing Charlie standing a few feet away she warmly smiled saying "Thanks for dropping her off Charlie"
"It's not a problem I wanted to come and see how Alexis was anyway" Charlie honestly responded.
"You can go in and see her after Taylor if you want" Brooke said sitting back down, joined by Mel and Taylor who sat either side of her.
"That'd be good thanks, but I will have to make an official visit at some point"
"We know, She wants to tell you what happened not any other police officer, she said she trusts you"
"She said that?" Charlie asked slightly surprised
"Yeah she knows your close friends with Joey"
"That's nice to know" Charlie said smiling then sitting down in the last empty chair next to Brooke Mel and Taylor.
Before anyone else had a chance to speak a hospital bed appeared from around the corner and disappearing into Alexis' room before anyone had a chance to see Alexis' condition. A few seconds later Alexis' doctor appeared walking up to Brooke who was already standing in the doorway of Alexis' room. Mel, Charlie and Taylor all looked on going on Brooke's body language as she was being told the latest update but as always she never gave anything away once the doctor had finished he placed what looked like a reassuring hand on Brooke's shoulder before walking into Alexis' room. Brooke walked over to the three waiting ladies taking a deep breath as she walked over stopping in front of them she took another breath as she exhaled she spoke "The Doctor said that so far there doesn't look like there's going to be any lasting physical damage and he confirmed that there's no evidence what so ever of any kind of Sexual assault." As Brooke finished speaking Taylor leaped out of her seat engulfing Brooke in a massive hug which Brooke returned moments later Brooke pulled back slightly looking down at Taylor she softly said "The Doctor said you can go in and see her, He's just giving the nurse details on Lexi's obs. Go on you go see her, we'll give you guys loads of time to talk. I'm gonna go outside and give Jojo an update ok?"
"Ok Thanks Brooke" Taylor responded hugging Brooke then pulling out of the hug and placing a kiss on Brooke's cheek. Quickly hugging Mel and giving her a kiss on the cheek as well. Then running over to Charlie ,who was still sitting down, hugging her and saying Thank You slightly shocking Charlie Mel and Brooke she then ran into Alexis' room everyone then heard a massive shout of TAY TAY come from the room as the door shut after Taylor. Brooke smiled at Charlie before sitting back down in the chair taking hold of Mel's left hand with her right hand. With her left hand she removed her phone from her pocket quickly writing out a brief text to Joey explaining all the doctor had said and that she would call her in about twenty minutes.
Twenty Minutes later Brooke Charlie and Mel were still sitting outside of Alexis' room they had been chatting on and off over the last twenty minutes about anything and everything they would think of that didn't include Joey, Robbo's upcoming trial or what had happened to Alexis. Looking at her phone Brooke noticed that she had a message from Joey saying 'OK, Chat in twenty" Looking at the time and seeing that the twenty minutes had passed she stood up looking at Mel softly saying "I'm just going outside to call Joey" Mel nodded at Brooke softly smiling.
Brooke walked for about four or five minutes until she was at the A&E entrance pulling her phone back out of her pocket she dialled Joey's number after three rings Joey answered the phone "Hey Jojo….." Brooke began the conversation quickly turned to Alexis' condition Brooke informed Joey of everything that she had been told by the doctors and by Alexis. She avoided talking about Frankee knowing that Joey didn't need to get involved in the aggro that was between her and Frankee at the moment. They had been talking for about ten minutes the whole time Brooke had noticed that there was a well-dressed man parked up in a car across from the hospital who seemed to be watching her every move thinking nothing more of it than a man waiting for someone and entertaining himself. "Once Taylors finished talking to Alexis I'll drop her home" She was about to continue with what she was saying when she noticed someone else standing a few feet away from her, instantly she realised it was Frankee feeling the rage inside herself she decided to end her call and walk straight back to Alexis' room where she knew Mel was waiting outside, if anyone could calm her down it was Mel, the last thing they needed was for her to get arrested for assault. "Sorry Jojo I'm gonna have to go. I wanna check on Alexis' I call you back in a while" With Joeys OK reply she removed the phone from next to her ear down to her waist unaware that she hadn't hung up the phone.
On the other end of the phone Joey was about to hang up when she heard Frankee's voice it sounded like she was trying to give Brooke some sort of apology but at the same time she was saying that it was Brooke's fault that Alexis was attacked because she was her responsibility. There was no response from Brooke the next sound she heard was a shuffling sound along with muffled voices which she guessed was due to Brooke walking away from Frankee before she had any more time to think about what the sound was she heard Brooke shout "Excuse Me, What did you just say?" From the tone in Brooke's voice she knew she wasn't about to walk away whatever Frankee had said it had to have struck a nerve for Brooke to stop in her tracks. Sensing things may get physical between Frankee and Brooke she made the quick decision to hang up the phone call and get in contact with Mel. Quickly she got Mel's contact details up on her phone and called her number after a few rings Mel answered the phone
"Hello" Having not looked at the Caller ID she had no idea who it was.
"Mel, you need to go find Brooke now before something bad happens" Joey hurriedly said
"What why what's going on?" Mel asked
"Frankee is at the hospital and she's with Brooke now"
"Oh no, Alright I'll go now" With that Mel hung up the phone and darted out of her seat running towards where she knew Brooke would be making her phone call. She ran quickly towards the entrance of the A&E her urgency grabbed Charlie's attention causing her to jump up and follow Mel. They reached the entrance just in time to see Frankee connect with a punch to Brooke's jaw, Brooke didn't react to the punch straight away she just stood holding her jaw after thirty seconds she stepped back with her right leg at the same time pulling her right hand back seeing the action Mel quickly stepped in front of Brooke who seeing Mel instantly stopped herself following through with the punch.
"I told you" Frankee muttered at Brooke.
The comment caused Brooke to try and get to Frankee but Mel continued to stand in her way stopping her from moving Mel knew that Brooke wouldn't push her out of the way no matter how angry she got at anyone. Mel could see that Brooke's eyes where filled with anger. Looking back at Frankee she saw the smug grin that Frankee was sporting whatever she had said it was something that Frankee must have known it would send Brooke off at the deep end. Seeing that Frankee was antagonising Brooke Charlie moved forward until she was in front of Frankee looking at her and firmly saying "This is a Hospital, This isn't the time or place for any kind of violence" Frankee went to protest but decided not to she'd said everything that she needed to Brooke so she turned and walked away from the hospital grinning even wider as she walked away knowing that she had opened a can of worms between Mel and Brooke a can of worms she hoped would put an end to their new found relationship.
Once Frankee was completely out of sight Brooke seemed to calm down holding onto Brooke's right hand, looking deeply into her eyes still seeing the anger glimmering in her eyes. "What did she say that got you so angry?" She asked.
Brooke paused for a second the anger filling her face "She said she knows who raped you….and apparently so do you"
