Chapter six
"Draco, I'm getting a little worried." Ginny confessed as she stopped by his office a few days later after leaving Harry's office.
"About what, Ginny?" He asked as he motioned for her to sit down.
"Harry. He barely comes home anymore. He seems to always be sleeping in his office or in some meeting with Kingsley when I come around." She explained as she sat in the seat in front of Draco's desk.
"I don't know why you're telling me this, Gin and not him." Draco replied, as nice as he possibly could.
"You seem to be the only person who can get through to Harry anymore. I don't know what you two do when you're both working here long into the night, but Astoria seems to think-"
Draco cut her off. "Harry and I work together. Yes, we spend a lot of time working together late at night now that we are on speaking terms. But I assure you, Ginny. I am not doing anything with your husband. Me being bisexual has nothing to
do with the time I spend around your husband. He's married to you, with three amazing children. I would never hurt you like that." Draco said sincerely.
She didn't look completely reassured, but enough to let a small smile pass onto her lips.
"Thank you, Draco. You seem to be the only one who understands how Harry can be. Ron doesn't care about him anymore, and he refuses to let Hermione have any contact with Harry or myself." Ginny said sadly.
Ever since Draco had come out about his sexuality a few weeks ago to certain people, Ginny has become insecure with him and Harry working together alone.
"Well, your brother is a git, Gin. I never liked him, and I'm glad I never had to be forced to make peace with him." Draco said as he gave her a hot cup of tea.
She smiled sadly as she took hold of it. "Draco, please, just find a way to get some sense into Harry. I miss the way he used to spend so much time at home." She started to plead.
He raised a hand slightly to stop her from saying anymore. He could tell she was becoming desperate by the way her hands were gripping onto the cup.
"I will talk to him later tonight. We have plans to stay back and help Kevlar with cleaning out his apartment, since he is moving in with his current girlfriend. When I get a chance, I will speak to him about it." He assured her. She looked grateful as she drank the last of her tea and stood up. She hugged him and left the room, leaving Draco to think about Harry alone.
I can not believe I just lied to Ginny. She trusts me with him. Just one month ago Harry found out my sexuality, and now we try to make every sickening excuse to be around each other. He thought to himself as he looked at the small amount of paperwork on his desk. He glanced at his watch and noticed it was almost time for lunch. He stood up and walked out of the room. He began to make his way to Harry's office with a small smile on his face. He stopped as he heard a familiar voice coming from Harry's room. The smile quickly faded from his face.
"...come to some bloody sense and realise that he's probably using you to get more power so he can get his damned father out of Azkaban." The voice of Ronald Weasley came easily through the closed office door.
"Ron, really. I told you and Hermione all of this before. He's changed. We're only friends. He helps me cope with all of the deaths I've caused throughout the war. If it wasn't for his mother I would be dead right now." Draco heard Harry's calm voice.
"Exactly Harry! His mother and that bloody git are two different fucking people! I understand that you are on good terms with Narcissa, but Draco is only using you to get his father out of prison!" Ron repeated.
There was sudden silence in the room and Draco could sense the door opening before he could have any time to react. Ron looked at Draco with a look of pure disgust as he shoved his way past him out of the room.
Harry looked angry, but his emotions softened as he looked into the eyes of his secret lover.
"How much of that did you hear?" Harry asked quietly as he looked at the floor, ashamed.
"Enough." Draco hesitated for only a short moment before asking, "Harry, you don't really think that I'm only using you, do you? To get my father free from Azkaban?"
To his surprise, Harry smiled gently.
"If I thought you were using me to get your father out, I wouldn't be risking all of this romance with you, Draco. You should already know that." Harry said simply as he flicked his wand towards the door and Draco heard it swing shut quietly and heard a faint click as the door locked itself. He smiled as he walked over to Harry's desk and kissed him lightly on the lips. Harry responded hungrily, gripping onto Draco.
Draco soon had Harry breathing heavily into his ear as his hands worked their magic in Harry's pants, playing with his private parts. Harry was staring in space as his eyes seem to glaze over as his groin seemed to gain more hardness. Draco smiled to himself as he felt it. He loved all the moans and groans Harry always made when he touched him. He had been surprised when Harry told him that his wife could never make him feel this way.
Harry moaned in annoyance as someone knocked on the door. Draco quickly pulled his hand out of Harry's pants and did a quick cleaning charm on both of them. He dropped the silencing charm he had placed around the room and flicked his wand at Harry's door without looking at it. Harry gently nudged him. Draco grimaced slightly as he saw Astoria standing in the doorway.
"Yes, Astoria? What do you need?" Harry asked politely, quickly regaining his composure.
"I was going to ask Draco if he wanted to go out to eat for his lunch break, but I'm guessing he has his hands full, seeing as you have him in your office already." She responded. Her voice had a tiny hint of coldness in it. Harry looked at Draco from the corner of his eye.
"Astoria, I already had my lunch break an hour ago. I was discussing the missing cases of those muggle borns with Harry." Draco answered, equalling the coldness in his wife's voice, holding up a stack of parchment up in the air to show her.
"Okay then, Draco. See you at home. If you decide to come at all." She said as she left the office, slamming the door on her way out. Draco looked at Harry.
"What is she talking about, Draco?" He asked.
Draco shrugged. "I haven't been going home right away after work lately. I've been spending time with Pansy and Theo." He answered calmly.
"She thinks I stay here late at night so we can fuck, Draco. She keeps sending me blackmail saying that if I don't stay away from you, she's going to rat me out to the Wizarding World." Harry said, nearing the borderline of anger.
"What? Why? I thought she was helping you all this time." Draco said confused.
"Yeah. That was until Ginny owled her asking if I cheated with her. So, not only does Ginny have some idea of why I stay late at work all of a sudden, but she thinks I'm fucking your wife. And you're wife clearly has some damned idea about why you stay late all the time." Harry answered, walking over to the fireplace. "I think it's time you go home, Draco. I'm doing the same. I will see you when I can." Harry said as he threw Floo powder into the fire.
Draco blinked. "Harry-"
"Draco, save it please? I can only take so much drama in one day. Just go home tonight and I'll talk to you once everything gets cleared away." Draco stepped into the fire stating his destination. Soon after, Harry followed to his own home.
"Harry, it's getting late, can you please just come to bed?" Ginny begged her husband, watching him.
"Gin, I'll be there soon. Okay?" Harry promised, looking at his wife.
He could tell she was close to tears, but he tried to ignore it. She nodded and walked up to the bedroom. Harry stood up and stretched his arms above his head and yawned. He shook his head as he looked at the paperwork on the coffee table. He went upstairs to James' bedroom and peeked in.
"James, you need to start going to bed earlier. You're going off to Hogwarts in two weeks." He said as he looked at James sitting on his bedroom floor playing on his muggle computer.
"I know dad, I know. And Lily-"
"Don't worry about what your sister or brother are doing, James. I'll worry about them. Now get up and go to sleep." Harry said firmly.
He watched as his son grudgingly turned off his computer and started changing into pajamas. Harry went upstairs to Albus's room and shook his head as he heard Albus's favorite muggle band blasting through the crack of his door.
"Albus. Get to bed. Now." Harry said as he flicked his wand over to his son's stereo and suddenly the room became quiet. He looked at his son as Albus with calm features. Albus obeyed him without any objection, hopping into bed and pulling the covers over his body. Harry walked up another flight of stairs to his youngest (and only) daughter's room who had just recently turned eleven. He peeked into the room, carefully opening the door. He smiled as he saw her sleeping peacefully on her bed. "Why can't your older brothers be more like you, Lily?" He thought to himself as he gently closed the door and walked to the bathroom to get his shower.
Today was one of those strange days in Harry's life. It was finally September first, Lily, James, and Albus had all went away to Hogwarts, Lily for the first time. He had seen his godson Teddy with Andromeda, he had seen Luna with Neville with their twin boys Samuel and Scott on the Platform, had seen Dean and Seamus with their adopted daughter, Alana. He had seen all of his childhood friends there. Nothing seemed to be strange or out of the ordinary, until he had spotted his love affair Draco Malfoy- or rather, Astoria looking stern and Draco looking quite uncomfortable standing next to her. He wasn't daring to look over at Harry, but instead had his eyes set firmly on the back of his son's head. Scorpius also seemed to be a little awkward standing there. He was holding his cart, with his pet ferret on his shoulder. He didn't seem to be paying any attention to his parents until Astoria gripped his shoulder and gave him a quick hug and left without seeming to say goodbye. Harry and Ginny could tell that Scorpius was a little put out by seeing his mother leave. But Draco seemed to be relieved.
"I wonder what's going on with Malfoy and Astoria?" Ron said, glancing over to the family.
"I heard that Astoria found him in bed with another witch and that she kicked him out." Ginny said, glancing around.
"That would have been in the paper if that was the case, Gin." Hermione said quietly.
"I'm going to see if he's okay." Harry said without much thinking. Ginny nodded shortly and Harry was quickly making his way over to Draco.
Draco didn't seem to notice his presence until Harry gently touched his arm. He looked at Harry with glazed eyes.
"Is everything okay, Draco?" He asked quietly as a small group of people walked past them.
"Yeah, Harry. Everything's fine." He said curtly, scanning the Platform with unfocused eyes.
Harry could tell he wasn't in the mood to talk, so he stayed quiet for a few moments.
"Father, can I go onto the train?" Scorpius asked suddenly.
Draco nodded and quickly helped his son pick up his trunk and helped him into the train.
Harry watched silently. Draco turned back to Harry as soon as Scorpius was out of sight.
"I will see you at work, Potter." He said, his voice filling in with coldness.
"Draco-"
"Save it, Potter. I don't need your help right now." Draco said irritably as he made his way over to the entrance of the Platform. He disappeared before Harry could follow. Harry sighed audibly as he made his way back to his group.
"What the hell was that about?" Ron asked, looking over at the gate where Draco had disappeared.
Harry shrugged and remained quiet.
Soon after that, the train was moving and Harry smiled at all of the kids as the train quickly left the station, waving to a few of them. He couldn't help but be confused as to what had happened that morning. Everything felt so strange. Even if he was Harry Potter. The exchange between him and Draco seemed strange. Harry couldn't tell if it had actually happened or if it had all been in his head.
